Icing on the Cake / Final Nail in the Coffin

Filed in Cult Of Pop 2.0

Here’s one last thing to celebrate Momoko’s birthday…

I’ve already discussed the Berryz calendar, written some more poetry, served some baked goods, posted up some songs for the radio.blog, posted up a list of favorite PV moments, and even made some animated GIFs in honor of Momoko’s big one four. So what’s left?

You guessed it! A Momoko Fanfic Generator!

Not having much experience writing fan fiction (not even from my comics fanboy days), I decided to opt for the sordid, the surreal, or a combination of both. I must admit, this generator isn’t as robust hypertextually as I’d like. (By robust, I mean that it rewards readers with interesting new variations.) I imagine most people will get enough of the joke after a half-dozen reloads. But certainly, there’s space to build and add to this over time.

So enjoy it, Happy Birthday Again Momoko, and thank you for your indulgence.

And in case you’re wondering… Chinami’s birthday is May 22nd, Megumi’s is June 6th.

Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Ray, we need to have a talk. We’re doing this for your own good.

    Mrs. Mescallado!!! ROTFL

By the way, the fanfics don’t make too much sense when different elements are annexed together. Take this for example:

    “Tsuganaga-san!”

Momoko was caught by surprise. Looking around, she saw Iida-san waiting expectantly outside her dressing room. Confused, she did as followed senpai into the dressing room.

“I heard about you and Saki, Tsuganaga-san,” senpai began immediately. “As one of your elders, I must express my disapproval.”

Momoko was puzzled by this – and by the way her senpai smiled and fingered the Gatas team sweatshirt that she was wearing.

“I don’t know what you mean.”

“Oh?” The senpai arched an eyebrow. “So you’re also telling me nothing happened between you and Chinami after last week’s concert?”

Senpai looked a little strange as she wiped a sweat drop off her forehead.

Momoko shook her head, feeling guilty and trapped – though why, she didn’t know.

Putting on the radio, which played Morning Musume’s “Shabondama”, the senpai whispered in Momoko’s ear, “I saved a lot of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.”

Momoko burst out the door, her senpai in hot pursuit…

First, the senpai was talking about Momoko and Saki. Then, it segued into an incident between Momoko and Chinami without warning. I know it’s supposed to be absurdist, but even Bizarro Superman contextually made sense. LOL

“Senpai…” she whispered, then grew more forceful. “Senpai, I saved a lot of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico!”

    Amazing

Ahh, I messed up. The second reference is actually supposed to be to a different incident, but wasn’t phrased clearly enough. You know, create a list of offenses instead of just one. I need to work on that Generator some more…
