You Can Choose the Tracks for Zone’s Next Album…

Filed in Cult Of Pop 2.0

… But it’s not like they’ve re-united or anything.

I just found this on j-poop and figure it’s worth sharing: a collection of Zone’s best B-sides, album tracks, and other material is being released by Sony and they’re letting fans vote here to help decide what goes on it. You get to choose three songs out of a possible thirty-three choices. I voted, just to take part in it.
This is mildly surprising news, but considering how well the E album sold I guess Sony wants to milk Zone’s dead body for all it’s worth. That said, what would you call the album? All the letters spelling Zone are already taken, though you can make it S to spell ZONES or R for ZONER or Y for ZONEY. Perhaps a yen sign would be most appropriate.

And who’s going to buy this album? I probably won’t unless the first edition comes with a mini photobook or something else equally nifty but decidedly non-musical. A bonus DVD would get me interested, too… Hm. Actually, anything from Zone except a B-sides CD would catch my attention and make me part with my money. A memorial photobook to match my Speed memorial photobook, or a DVD of live performances…
I guess I’ve moved on somewhat, considering I’m almost done with this blog entry and haven’t broken down to tears yet. Maria’s first single is nifty – not quite Zone, but I didn’t expect it to be. I’m growing impatient to see a new Miyu solo single, too, for that matter. If she stays out of the spotlight too long, she’ll end up like Akina. And that would break my heart.

I wish we’d had that chance from Sony Japan when they put Whiteberry’s “Kiseki” best-of album together. Not that it was a bad complation, but give me a moment and I’ll bitch about “Be Happy” and the single version of “Akubi” not being represented. 😉

Don’t worry. I’ll talk to her. I don’t want my girlfriend ending up like Akina. 🙂

I’ll probably buy it as I only have the E collection already.

  4. I’ll buy if it’s a B-side collection or if it comes with a DVD of PVs. So far, I’ve passed on the almost useless E album.

I think there’s an album name in their somewhere. Milk of ZONE’s Dead Body, perhaps?
