So, the day we’ve all (well, maybe not all) been waiting (and maybe no waiting… maybe more like anticipating) for has finally arrived! It’s Miya’s birthday!

And so, first up, we’ll have Miya singing about her birthday.

I looked up the translation for this song, and it really has nothing to do with celebrating one’s birthday… BUT, the title is “Today is my Birthday” and today is Miya’s birthday… And Miya’s singing in this performance, so…. Really it makes sense to post this video, in a twisted sort of way. XD

Up next, is my little creation in honour of Miya’s birthday. I’ve mentioned Wotachat in my main blog a few times, but I don’t think I’ve mentioned it here.

Wotachat is a chat room in IRC where many International Wota readers and contributors, as well as some non blogger/blog readers gather to chat about pretty much anything J-culture related (and other random topics as well). A great many H!P fans frequent that room, and you can be sure that H!P will be talked about multiple times in a day.

Originally, wotachat was hosted by pengie of unchained, but this past April (nearly May), we moved over to IRC (on the Rizon server, channel #wotachat). Upon moving to IRC, I quickly started using my old IRC client and set up some remotes to respond to certain words said in chat. One of them is the word “Miya” or “Miyabi” (or “Natsuyaki”). If someone says one of those three things, my nick will automatically respond with “MI.YA.FOR.THE.WIN”. This response has a tune in my head - it goes along with the “A.I.SHI.TE.RU” or “DA.KI.SHI.ME.TE” from Buono!’s ‘Kiss!Kiss!Kiss!’ single.

So, come Miya’s birthday, I got the idea to make a song for Miya, set to the tune of ‘Kiss!Kiss!Kiss!’ because I already had one line ready to go… XD So, this is me, singing a birthday song for Miya.

Please take note that I am a horrible lyricist. Also, recording this song made me realize how difficult ‘Kiss!Kiss!Kiss’ is to sing. I’ve sung it a million times, but hearing it recorded really lets you hear where you screw up. It still sounds screwed up to me, but I don’t have any time left to fix it*… XD The jumps from high to low pitch are so tricky, and I’ve never taken vocal lessons, so… Yea, tricky. Particularly the 7 semitone jumps up and down in the prechorus. Those tried to kill me. As did the chorus. XD Forgive the first line.. I don’t know what happened.
