Miyabi’s 16th Birthday Countdown! - 16 days left
So, it’s 16 days to Miyabi’s 16th birthday, so let the birthday count down begin!
To start off the count down, I’m going to go over the song that first brought Miyabi to my attention.. And no, I don’t mean when she became prominent for me… Just the first time she caught my eye. It is because of this song that I wanted to learn more about her when I started becoming interested in Berryz Koubou a few years later.
Back in the year 2003, a one-time Hello!Project subgroup was formed. Aa! featured Tanaka Reina of Morning Musume, and two Hello! Project Kids, Natsuyaki Miyabi and Suzuki Airi.
I remember hearing this song and seeing this PV and falling in love with it almost instantly. I remember being so impressed with the abilities of these two little H!P Kids, it practically blew my mind. I can truly say that even back then, Reina was my least favourite member in this group, and that’s not to say she did a bad job here. I guess watching this group, it was just amazing to see a 9-year-old Airi and 11-year-old Miyabi pull off a fairly sophisticated song and image at such young ages.
Miyabi got very few lines in this release, which irks me now. However, she did well with the lines that she did have. When I started getting in Berryz Koubou late last year, I recognized Miyabi right away as “that girl from Aa!”. I couldn’t recall her name at the moment (neither did I know Airi’s) but that was quickly remedied, and she has become my favourite H!P since.
This PV is simple, but definitely up there as one of my favourite H!P PVs. I love the outfits and the dance. The girls all pull off the melancholy feel of the song quite well.
As I mentioned on a previous post, Miyabi sang the c/w to this single at her recent solo event. If you haven’t had the chance to listen to the Miya of now singing the song of old, here you go!

all of them are really cute during this time, especially Airi. Now I know why Airi deserve to be is in this industry. She’s really good in singing, even at such a young age. As for Miya, love those shots at the window. Reinya? Maintain Yankee! (^o^)/
