Morning Musume-Maji Desu ka Ska short preview

The radio show Young Town played the short version of Morning Musume’s Musume’s upcoming single Maji Desu ka Ska. And when I say short, I mean short. This radio rip is only about 40 seconds longer than the preview we heard the 9th gen singing on Bijou Gaku.

I gotta say I am extremely excited for this single. In the extra 40-50 seconds we get to hear more of the beginning of the song as well as the rest of Morning Musume’s solo lines.
The random talking in the beginning makes be think of SNSD’s Tell Me Your Wish. XD And when the music kicks in it has an extremely similar feel to Guru Guru Jump. I know I said that already, but you can really hear it here. The members are singing pretty much exactly like I knew they would. Except Ai-chan doesn’t have her full on cutesy voice like I was expecting. And Aika’s voice sounds like I’ve never heard it before. I literally thought it was another Reina solo line. I legit though, “WTF is this? Everyone else gets a solo lines, but not Aika?” It wasn’t until the 2nd listen that I realized it was her. XD But I’m so excited by how youthful the 9th gen makes this single!

9th gen Momusu sings Maji Desu ka Ska on Bijou Gaku

Yesterday’s episode of Bijou Gaku aired a segment that showed the 9th practicing and recording their lines for Morning Musume’s upcoming single Maji Desu ka Ska.

I am extremely happy that everything I hoped for when the 9th gen joined is happening. Morning Musume is finally releasing happy and upbeat music. Morning Musume’s so called emo era has finally ended. Which is bittersweet because Koharu was have totally owned at songs like this. :/

First, let me start off by saying how impressed I am with the 9th gen. The girls have only been training for a month, and still sound great. Granted, both Mizuki and Riho have had years of vocal and dance training, so they don’t really count too much. And my girl Zukki completely owned it! Despite her being the worst singer in the batch, she actually sounds the best out of the 9th gen. It’s her cuteness, charisma, and energy overflowing in the song.

I have to say I am absolutely in love with this song. It’s energetic, happy, upbeat, and adorable. This song to me sounds like the album songs from Morning Musume’s 9th and 10th albums. Which I am completely thrilled about. I always whined that one of those type of songs should be used as an A-side, and now it is. This song honestly sounds like/has the overall feel of Morning Musume’s Koko ni Iruzee, Guru Guru Jump, and Genki Pika Pika, and S/mileage’s Otona ni Narutte Muzukashii.

Some fans are saying this song isn’t strong enough to be an A-side, but I don’t think they can judge that until the full radio rip is out. I mean, the chorus isn’t even all of Morning Musume. If you listen closely it’s just the 9th gens voices, and I doubt only the 9th gen will sing the chorus of the song. I will completely judge the song when I hear all of the members in the song. I am excited to hear what they’ll sound like. I’m hoping Risa brings her cuteness from Athena & Robikerottsu, I hope Sayumi brings her adorableness from Rainbow Pink, and I hope Aika uses her Guardians 4 voice. I’ve never heard Reina’s voice sound remotely cutesy, so I hope she at least tries to sound cute. But I’m dreading Ai-chan’s voice. I know she’s going to put on that horrible voice she uses when she tries to sound cute. You know the one. The one she uses’s when she sings Shainimuni Paradise, and the 2009 version of Suki na Senpai, and when she was in Mini Moni.

The one thing I am worried about it, it seems like these are the only lines the 9th gen get. At first I thought we were only hearing these solo lines and the chorus to tease fans and only give them a snippet of the song. But there’s also another possibility that these are their only lines. Because when you are recording a song you only record your lines, bottom line. And you only record the chorus once. Even if the chorus is repeated 8 times, they take your one chorus section and paste it 8 times. Of course unless there are 2 different choruses or the last chorus has a higher ending or something. Then you would only have one copy and pasted chorus. (I wish I knew actual editing terms, because I’m sure it’s not copy and paste.) Of course, I could also just be over analyzing this, as I often tend to do.

Here’s the Bijou Gaku clip if you want to watch the whole thing.

But if you’d just prefer to hear the song, here’s the a clip of just the song.

YuiKaori-Shooting Smile preview

YuiKaori’s upcoming 4th single, Shooting Smile, isn’t being released until April 6th. But King Records has decided to give fans a short preview of the song a lot earlier than expected.

I don’t know about you, but I have been waiting for months for any sort of news on this single. Obviously since it was announced in December and wasn’t being released until April, the waiting has seemed like an eternity and pretty much has been torture. XD

This single follows suit of YuiKaori’s past singles. It’s super upbeat and super positive, with heavy anime music. Even though the preview is only 30 seconds of the chorus it’s enough to get the overall feel of the song. The style is extremely similar to their Vivivid Party song. Since the song is extremely happy and YuiKaori like, I’m really excited to see what the PV is going to be like. Since all of their PVs have strikingly different.

Also here’s a video of the always adorable YuiKaori talking about their upcoming single.

C-ute-Chou WONDERFUL preview

I have just realized that I didn’t write anything about C-ute’s upcoming 6th album. I really want to be into C-ute, but I can’t seem to care anymore. Since Arihara Kana left C-ute my interest in them has been really falling. To where I’m at the point now were I hardly even care about them anymore. But that makes me incredibly sad, because before Kana left I used to like C-ute more than Berryz. But now Berryz Koubou has completely surpassed them. But now I’m going to take about C-ute because I know my readers are interested in keeping up with them.

On March 23rd Hello! Project group C-ute will be releasing their 6th album entitled, Chou Wonderful! 6.
The track list for the album is as follows:

1. Chou WONDERFUL!
2. Midnight Temptation
3. Kiss me Aishiteru
4. Iza Susume! Steady go
5. Ru ru ru ru ru
6. Wakaretakunai
7. Aitai Lonely Christmas
8. Circle
9. Dance de bakoon
10. San ban home, san ryome
11. Campus life ~ umare te kite yokatta ~

The radio rip for the album’s title track has just been released. The song has a rock beat, but it is soft enough that the music still comes off as being absolutely adorable. I really like the style the song is going for. It might not be as aggresive or danceable as Dance de Bakoon, but the music is still really great.
And since this is an album song the line distribution is pretty fair. The song is still lead by Maimi and Airi like it always is. But you do get to hear the other girls too. It’s mostly Chisato and Mai that you hear. Poor Saki I think I only heard one solo from her.
Even though I think the song is cute I think it’s actually pretty weak to be an opening for an album. C-ute hardly ever has strong album songs, so this is probably as heavy as this album will get. But I’m still looking forward to hearing the rest of the album. We’ll probably be getting more previews in the next week or so.

Also, you can buy their 6th album from CDJapan by clicking the links below.

Akanishi Jin-Eternal preview

Akanishi Jin’s first Japanese solo single is being released on March 2nd. And of course there’s a preview of the song.

I know I’ve already make a post about Eternal, but I finally found an official version of the song. And it’s absolutely clear sounding and amazing. I really do love Eternal. I think the lyrics are incredibly beautiful and Jin sounds super hot amazing when he sings softly. However, this will probably be the only single he ever releases like this. It is a little sad because this song is so pretty. But as long as he releases songs similar to Wonder I’ll be happy.

I’m really excited to see him perform this song on Music Station in a couple of days. I’m even more excited to hear his US album in July. It’s pretty obvious which one is going to be a bigger hit. XD

Anyway, here’s the official version of the song for anyone who wants to hear it.

Click  here to listen to it.

And there’s still time to buy this single from CDJapan by clicking the links below.

NYC-Yumetamago preview

With a little less than a month until the release of NYC’s 3rd single, Yumetamago, we finally have a radio rip of the song. However, the preview is only 2 minutes long which is probably only about half the song. And the radio host starts talking through the last 30 seconds so it’s almost inaudible at the end. I mean, you can obviously still hear the song it’s just a little annoying to strain to hear it.

The song sounds pretty much on par with what NYC has been releasing up until now. But I am a little surprised by how tame the music actually is. The song is being used as the ending for an anime movie, but the music isn’t really intense anime music like it could be. It’s actually pretty similar music wise to Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe. Where the music stays the same volume nearly the whole time and hardly changes. When this single was first announced I said how I was looking forward to another song along the lines are Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe, but now that the song is, I wish it was a little different. I guess there’s no pleasing me. XD I do really enjoy the song though. NYC blends really well together and most of the song is group parts, just like all of their past singles. I think it’s a really adorable song. And despite it being for kids it’s not too childish sounding. Which could be a real problem. Does Lilpri ring a bell, anyone?

Arashi-Lotus radio preview

With less than a month until the release date, we finally have a full radio rip of Arashi’s new single Lotus. Well, actually the full radio rip came out a few days ago but this is my first time hearing it.

Hearing the whole songs just makes me think this song sounds like Truth and Monster even more. The music has this almost eerie tone to it that is extremely reminiscent of Monster. And the lyrics remind me a lot of Truth. After listening to it all the way through a few times I’m am really starting to like this song. But it doesn’t really move beyond ok or good for me. It doesn’t have that instant like ability that songs like Troublemaker, Beautiful Days and Kitto Daijoubu had.
And for a song being used as a theme to his drama you’d think you’d hear Aiba more. He only has one solo line and it’s just a tiny bit longer than Nino’s and Ohno’s solos. But at the very end of the song it does sound like Aiba has another solo line, but the annoying announcer is talking over that part. XD

If you do like what you hear, you can buy the single from CDJapan by clicking the links below.

Berryz Koubou-Heroine ni Narou ka preview

The radio rip for Berryz Koubou’s upcoming single, Heroine ni Narou ka, was finally released. The concert rip for this song has been floating around the internet for nearly a month. But I haven’t listened to the concert rip (well until today) at, because I prefer to wait for the radio rip to be released. Usually because the concert rip is either poor quality or the song differs a lot from the concert rip. In the Aisaresugiru Koto wa Nai no yo concert rip the background music soundly completely different.

The radio rip is only a little less than half of the song, but it’s more than enough to get an overall feel of the song. The music for the song has a very techno and electronic sound to it. It reminds me a lot of Morning Musume’s Fantasy ga Hajimaru and I’m Lucky Girl. I guess Tsunku’s been in an 80’s or techno phase recently. I’m not really complaining. I absolutely love the electronic sort of house music beat that this song has. Berryz hasn’t released a song this danceable since Dakishimete Dakishimete. Even though the music is really amazing I think the vocals are lacking a great deal. There’s hardly any emotion in it. Besides the chorus only Saki’s and Miyabi’s long notes are even memorable.
The only really good part about the singing is how evenly divided the lines are. Except, correct me if I’m wrong, I didn’t really hear any solo lines by Yurina. I think she might have only had 1. Which is a tough break. But since she lead Shining Power, I guess she can’t really complain.

Here’s the radio rip:

And if you’re interested here’s the concert rip:

Watarirouka Hashiritai7-Valentine Kiss preview

The radio rip for Watarirouka Hashiritai 7’s new single, Valentine Kiss, is out. Apparently it’s been out for almost a week now but I’m just hearing it now. XD The song is a cover of Kokusho Sayuri’s song. But since Akimoto Yasushi he can obviously do whatever he wants with it. Also, the radio preview is only 2/3 of the song.
I’m really happy by how the song sounds. I was afraid it was going to sound exactly like the original. The music is of course nearly the same, but it’s also it’s also updated more modern sounding. And it’s a lot cuter sounding. The song itself is absolutely adorable, and completely fits Watarirouka Hashiritiai. I don’t know how it’s possible but their singles keep getting cuter and cuter. And better and better. I look forward to their singles more than I do AKB48’s.
And I’m really surprised by how well the song is distributed. I do love Mayu buts it’s nice to hear everyone else’s voice for a change.

KAT-TUN-Ultimate Wheels preview

The radio rip for KAT-TUN’s upcoming single, Ultimate Wheels, has just been released.

And after hearing the full song I completely take back what I said. I said I was extremely under whelmed by the song and it sounds like a B-side. Hearing the full song doesn’t makes a huge difference. Or I should say listening to it more than once makes a difference. After listening to the song on loop for a while now, I am starting to really love the chorus.
The beginning of this song has a lot of violins which reminds me of Untouched by The Veronicas. But the only difference is The Veronicas went all out on their song, but KAT-TUN didn’t. The song would be so much better if they had the violins louder and more aggressive sounding. I really wish they did. :/
I am still not absolutely in love with the song yet. But I do like it. Which means a couple months from now I’ll probably absolutely love the song. But what can I say? I mean it was Fall Out Boy that said, “But the songs you grow to like never stick at first.” So i’m writing you a chorus and here is your verse. XD And that’s 100% true. I really like the song because the singing is really agressive. It nice to see them release another heavy sounding song.

Tegomass-Aoi Bench preview

The radio rip for Tegomass’s 5th single, Aoi Bench, has just been released. Apparently the song is a cover a song by Sasuke. But I have never heard of the song until now. This song immediately remind me of Puffy AmiYumi’s song Red Swing. Red Swing, Blue Bench, you can see why it reminded me. XD

I am completely disappointed by the fact that the song sounds exactly the same. Why make a cover if you’re going to make it sound exactly like the original? I dread hearing Watarirouka Hashiritai 7’s new cover single now. :/
The original song was really bluesy and country sounding and so is Tegomass’s. It seems like they’ve been doing a lot of slow paced songs lately. This song literally sounds musically like Tanabata Matsuri but sung like Moshimo, Kono Sekai Kara OO ga Nakunattara. But looking back all of their singles were slow paced, ballad type songs but I just never noticed. The song sounds good but after listening to the original their voices don’t really fit it too well. They are just too cute sounding.
But besides that I absolutely love the song. The lyrics are so beautiful and heartbreaking. They completely pull on the heart strings. The same sappy love songs Tegomass always releases.

Here’s the radio rip:

But here’s the original with subs, just because the song is great:

C-ute-Kiss Me Aishiteru preview

The radio rip for C-ute’s 15th single, Kiss Me Aishiteru, has just been released. About a week ago a low quality concert rip was available to listen to. But I have been resisting the urge to listen to it until a high quality version was available. Just like what I’m doing with Kikkawa Yuu’s other songs.

The music to this song is really intense sounding, it is literally almost hypnotic. It also sounds like when DJs make a techno remix of popular video game music. Which gives it this awesome danceable sound. I’m glad after releasing SHOCK and Dance de Bakoon they keep releasing dance music and aren’t just jumping from different style to different style.

I absolutely love the way they say ne a million times. It reminds me of Berryz Koubou’s Special Generation, except done a lot more. But I honestly think this effect would be better used on a group with more than 5 members. Because it’s a little boring to hear 15 nes split between 5 people. I also love how sultry the song sounds at the chorus. The kiss me and catch me etc parts remind me of Goto Maki’s Some Boys Touch. The song even has echo parts like Some Boys Touch. Granted Some Boys Touch is like a hundred times sexier sounding.
The song is also very Okai Chisato heavy. The song is basically Maimi, Airi, and Chisa lead. They seem to really be pushing Chisa lately. I guess after the success of her dance covers they realized she really does have popularity. Even though it is really cool to see someone else get pushed up front for a change Mai and Saki are getting shafted a bit. Maimi, Airi, and Chisato are singing practically double lines as them. But I guess this is Chisa’s answer to the Mai centered Bye Bye Bye. So, does this mean eventually we’ll get a Saki centered song? I completely hope not. XD

Mitsui Aika’s photobook cover released

The cover for Mitsui Aika’s first photobook, simply titled Aika, has been released. And I gotta say I am pretty happy about how the cover looks. Of course like most photobooks do, it features Aika in a bikini. And I really love the bikini they picked. It’s pretty simple and Aika still looks alluring without showing too much skin or being over exposed. And believe me with her boobs she could. XD

I also hadn’t noticed but it seems like Mittsi also lightened her hair to an auburn shade and has added bangs. (Well she’s had bangs for a while now, but they were more side swept and these are straight.) Which really suits her, she looks incredible. And the bangs give a nice overall balance to the shape of her face.

Aika was also in UTB magazine, and those pictures are most likely previewing her photobook. But since I’m not 100% about that I’m not going to post them here.

New KAT-TUN CM and Ultimate Wheels preview

KAT-TUN was recently in a commercial for Suzukis 2011 box on wheels. Oh excuse me, 2011 Solio. And during the duration of the commercial we get a nice 1:15 preview of KAT-TUN’s new single, Ultimate Wheels. Which will be released on February 2nd.
I’m a little under whelmed by the song itself. Because honestly Change UR World is an extremely hard act to follow. It’s not that the song is bad, it’s just mediocre. The music is so soft and the singing is so bland that it’s practically forgettable. I mean, the singing hardly picks up when the chorus hits. I could see this being a good B-side but it should never have become an A-side. It doesn’t even sound like there’s openings for solo lines and rapping. Though I guess I do have to take into consideration that this is only the bridge and chorus, and we’ve yet to hear the verse.

The commercial isn’t really anything to write hoe about either. It’s basically just a pretty average car commercial. Where they show the interior and general functions of the car. Pretty much the best part of the commercial is that Koki is in it.

His wink practically killed me.

Yamapi-Hadakanbo preview

NEWS member Yamashita Tomohisa will be releasing his 4th solo single, Hadakanbo, on January 19th.  It kinda seems like Yamapi is going to be like Tegomass where they release a single or two a year, and an album every so often. Which I’m completely ok with. There’s nothing wrong with getting more bang for your buck JE.

The song is a complete 360 from anything Yamapi has released and is used to making. The music itself is a mix between disco, soul, and jazz. The music sounds like if you took NEWS’s Koi no ABO, Kanjnai8’s It’s My Soul, and Tackey & Tsubasa’s Ai wa Takaramono and mixed them together you might get this song.
The song is so random and old fashion sounding that I absolutely love it! Every single part is amazing. And the way Yamapi sings it is so beautiful. From the vocalizing before verses, the perfect sounding high notes, the heart melting way he says Hadakanbo towards the end, and the overall smoothness in which it’s sung. This is literally Yamapi’s best solo single since Daite Senorita.

French Kiss-If preview

AKB48 subgroup French Kiss will be releasing their 2nd single, If, on January 19th.

This is yet another song and PV preview in one. Which means we hardly get to hear the song at all. Nothing beyond the chorus, so the verse and bridge could be completely bland. However, I hope that’s not the cause because the chorus is completely amazing. It’s pretty soft but heavy enough to dance to. The song so far is also extremely catchy and very pleasant to listen to. But that’s mostly because of the flawlessness of Yuki’s voice. She definitely one of the best, and one of my favorite, voices in AKB48. French Kiss as a whole blends together beautifully. All of the members seem to have similar voices/tones in their voices.

I also want to briefly talk about the PV because the 40 seconds that they show seem to tell the whole story. In the 40 seconds you mostly only see the dance scenes and each member longing for someone at school. But what the story looks like to me is all 3 girls like the same guy, but Yuki ends up seeing him behind her friends back. Hence why she’s always walking ahead of them, like she’s leaving them early to meet him. That would make the PV really interesting. But it will probably end up being something more mundane like basically just longer for someone and “if” you were with them. But either way I’m excited for the PV. Half because I like the song and half because the guy in it looks pretty cute.

Itano Tomomi-Dear J preview

AKB48 member Itano Tomomi is releasing her first solo single. The single is entitled Dear J and will be released on January 26th.

After falling in love with Queen & Elizabeth’s Love Wars I’ve really grown to love Tomomi’s voice. Love Wars was probably the first time I ever actually heard her voice, and I was really surprised by how cute it was. So, when this single was announced I was really looking forward to it.

I’m a little sad that the short PV preview only lets us hear about 15 seconds of the song. I’m sure there’s a full radio rip floating around somewhere, but I can’t find it. But the little bit that I heard I completely wasn’t expecting. Maybe it’s the heavy music or the effects done to her voice, but Tomomi’s voice sounds a lot stronger and deeper than it usually does. I’m completely impressed by what I see and hear. The whole song and PV is reminiscent of something Amuro Namie would release. I’m actually looking forward to the PV. The song kinda very danceable and electronic sounding, I wonder if it was composed by a Korean person like SDN48’s GAGAGA.

S/mileage-Shortcut preview

S/mileage is releasing their 4th major single, Shortcut. Shortcut will be their first single of the new year, being released on February 9th.

The preview for this song has been floating around for days, but it was obviously posted during my hiatus.

I am actually really impressed with the music for this song. It is absolutely adorable, and is the extremely upbeat music you expect from H!P. This song sounds like it could have been one of Berryz Koubou’s first couple of singles, or it could have been an Athena & Robikerottsu single, or even a Buono album song. I am completely in love with the song so far. It’s miles better than Onaji Jikyuu de Hataraku Tomodachi no Bijin Mama. And it’s probably my favorite major single from S/mileage. Let’s just hope the lyrics match.
And as usual S/mileage has perfect line distribution. I think Yuuka and Saki might have 1 or 2 more lines than Ayaka and Kanon. But that’s honestly not a big deal.

SUPER GIRLS preview their debut album

With only 11 days until Avex’s idol group SUPER GIRLS’s debut album, Chouzetsu Shoujo, is released they are previewing all 10/14 tracks from their album on their official site. You can listen to the clips here.

Since I’ve been following the SUPER GIRLS pretty closely since they announced there debut, I was pretty excited to hear this news. The only down side is the previews are only 29 seconds. Which isn’t really enough time to get a feel for the songs. Like the first track, Welcome to ♥ S☆G Show!!, all you can hear is a small clip of music. The rest is some guy introducing the girls in better than I was expecting English. But the music could completely change after that part, so it sucks. But it’s only 11 more days to wait.

It’s exciting because I remember some of the songs from their Tokyo Idol Festival performance. Most of the songs you can preview sound pretty much all the same. Extremely happy, upbeat, cutesy idol music. It’s pretty much on par and sounds the same as every other idol group out there. Which doesn’t really bother me because that’s the exact type of idol music I love.

Number 10, NIJIIRO Namida (Which translates to rainbow colored tears) seems to be their only slow paced/sad song so far. Which is awesome because I tend to hate slow paced songs. But it really depends on the lyrics, which I don’t understand yet.

Kanna photobook cover preview

I’m sure everyone is aware that one of my favorite ex-Hello!Project members, Arihara Kanna, announced on her blog several months ago about her first photobook and image DVD. But since it was pushed back devoted KanKan fans like myself had to wait a little bit longer. With only 10 days until the release of Kanna’s first photobook, Kanna, the wait is almost over.

And because it’s so close to the release date we finally have a preview of the cover.

I probably should have waited until a bigger picture was available, but I was too excited to wait.
Even though I am extremely for the photobook itself, I am disappointed by the cover. The picture is very unfaltering. In the picture Kanna looks tired and washed out. But the plus side is, that after seeing I realized this is the first time we’re seeing Kanna in a bikini. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t think of another occasion she’s worn one. Which in itself, is pretty exciting.

Kanna was also featured in a magazine recently that previewed a few pictures from her photobook.

Now these pictures I both love and hate. Let’s start with the hate. I don’t really like the main picture of this shoot, the white bikini ones. It looks like she’s trying to look innocent, seductive, and beckoning at the same time. But Kanna must have been so uncomfortable to act that way, that the pictures come off as frightened. She really looks like a deer in headlights.
But on the other hand, I absolutely love the other bikini pictures. Because she’s not trying to be sexy in them, she comes off more natural and playful. Not to mention absolutely adorable. I’d actually prefer the whole photobook like that, rather then her wannabe sexy shots.

9th gen sneak peek!

Today I woke up to the most exciting news of my week. Well, most exciting fandom releated news anyway. After months of nothing but vague updates when an audition phase ended, we finally have a solid update on Morning Musume’s 9th generation auditions. And when I say solid update I mean a preview of the auditioners. That’s right, on today’s episode of Bijou Gaku they showed a sneak peek of the 9th gen audition process. The show also indicated that over 9,000 applicants auditioned for the 9th gen. Which is roughly 2,200 more than the 8th gen auditions. And can I just say I love being wrong. During NMB48 it was announced that they had 7,256 applicants, and, being the optimist I am, I said that Morning Musume would be lucky to get half that. Well to my pleasant surprise they got more. Roughly 1,750 more, which is hardly a difference. But it is way better than the 4,000 I was expecting.

Here are the preview pictures of the girls. These pictures on my blog are in a small size so they don’t cut in half. Please click on each picture to make them bigger. Usually I resize every picture to be a near perfect size for my blog. But for these pictures I tried to do minimal resizing, to keep the pictures as large as possible.

Out of these girls 397 has the most star quality. She looks absolutely adorable and infectious. 405, 891,and 862 also stand out.

Here 142 stands out the most. She’s got that awkwardness in her look that Airi did when she was little. 858, 339, have potential.

This girl looks extremely tired.

This girl looks fashionable.

I want this girl in 9th gen! She looks like a mix between Kumai Yurina and Wada Ayaka. Adorable!

This girl kinda looks cute, but I can’t really see her face.

Next.

She kinda looks like an uglier version of Ogawa Saki.

For some reason she reminds me of JunJun. She’s a little too chubby though. Sorry for being so brutally honest.

Her face is too pumpkin like. XD

Now this girl looks fresh and cute.

These girls look like they are 16. Which in my opinion is too old. I’d like for the girls to be no older than 14.

From the side the girl in black looks like Fukuda Kanon. The chick in pink looks dazed.

This girl has features that remind me of Yajima Maimi. I think with a little time and makeup, she could become quite a beauty.

There’s nothing special about this girl.

I don’t care how old this girl is, I want her in the 9th gen! She is incredibly gorgeous!

Eh. She’s kinda ugly.

This girl kinda looks like Yaguchi Mari from the Morning Coffee PV.

This girl’s eyes are too far apart. Did she happen t suffer from fetal alcohol syndrome? Oh, that’s just mean. XD

This chick’s eyes are uneven!

This girl is really pretty. When you’re that young and are already pretty, chances are you’re gonna grow up to be pretty.

Now, Morning Musme auditions usually last about 3 months after they start broadcasting. So if the show starts broadcasting in December or January, you should expect the new members in March or April. Let’s just hope Tsunku doesn’t lose anymore girls to AKB48 again.
I am extremely excited to see what the dance and voice training songs are going to be. Since they are usually newer songs I’m going to guess the dance sing will be Kimagure Princess, Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game,  or Moonlight Night ~Tsukiyo no Ban da yo~. And I’m going to guess the vocal training song will be Seishun Collection, Namdacchi, or Loving You Forever. That’s like a dream. But they will most likely be doing songs from the 11th album. Which I kinda don’t want to see happen. Mostly because I haven’t even gotten the chance to listen to the 11th album yet. XD

Morning Musme-Onna Gokoro to Nanto Yara preview

With just 2 days until the official release date of Morning Musume’s 11th album, Fantasy Juuichi, they’ve just released a new preview. This time it’s Onna Gokoro to Nanto Yara, which is probably going to be there last song preview before the release date.

After listening to it for a few times, this song is probably my least favorite preview they have released. The music is too slow and simple. And it reminds me a little bit of C-ute’s Everyday Yeah Kataomoi. I’m just not into the song. Even the way it’s being sung, it sounds like there’s no emotion behind it. And it makes the overall song sound a bit flat.
And because someone in H!P must have had a brain hemorrhage, the line distribution still sucks. The solos go to Risa, Eri, and Ai-chan. And if I listen hard enough I can kinda hear Aika. But as always, I’ll just have to wait for the full song to be released in 2 days.

Morning Musume-1 Kara 10 Made Aishite Hoshii preview

I’m sorry that this is so late guys. I’ve just been really busy helping my family get ready for Thanksgiving. But since Thanksgiving is officially over, and I’m stuffed full of turkey, I can blog 100% again. Anyway, I should probably talk about the topic at hand.

With the release of Morning Musume’s 11th album, Fantasy! Juuichi, just 5 days away Momusu released yet another radio rip. This time the song is entitled 1 Kara 10 Made Aishite Hoshii.

I actually really like the music of this song. It’s got a real 1970’s feel. It sounds like a mix between disco music and funk music. And I do like that this song is mainly sung as a group. I think it gives it a really cute and endearing quality. However, I really hate that the only members we hear with a solo are Ai and Reina. So far 3 songs have been previewed. I certainty hope either these previews have just been to short to hear LinLin and JunJun or the remaining 6 songs we have yet to hear are full of LinLin and JunJun.

Hey! Say! JUMP-"Arigato" ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~ preview

Hey! Say JUMP’s new single, “Arigato” ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~, is being released in a little over 3 weeks but we already have a full preview of the song. But let me say how utterly surprising that they are releasing another single. After they released an album and a concert DVD, I was pretty much sure that would be it for JUMP this year. So, I am super excited that we are getting something new from them.
At first listen I am surprised at hoe different this sounds compared to everything HSJ usually releases. This song has an extremely heavy electronic beat. And it honestly reminds me of a little of Adam Lambert’s For Your Entertainment. But JUMP’s song is a lot slower.
As of right now I’m not really feeling the song. I mean it’s not horrible, but it’s not extremely catchy either. I don’t know, nothing about the song really stands out.

Also I know HSJ said thank you in like 12 languages but and I caught every single one except obrigado and grazie. I think I also when I heard merci beaucoup it sounded like they only said merci beau and forgot the coup.

Though, I am extremely happy that it sounds like every single member has at least one solo line. But I am not sure if Keito and Ryutaro do, I can’t really tell their voices apart that well. Mostly because they never sing. I also really want to know how says we are JUMP, because it doesn’t sound like Ryosuke.

S/mileage-Odoru yo radio preview

S/mileage will be releasing their first album, Warugakii 1, it in almost 3 weeks. And of course that means we have a radio preview of one of the new songs, Odorou yo. Now it is basically a glorified singles collection, but we do get a few new songs. And should be happy about that. At least it means they have a clean slate for album 2.

The song reminds me of cuter version of Summer Reggae! Rainbow. And of course the song is along the sugary sweet, adorable music S/mileage has been releasing since the first formed.
And has the always even S/mileage line distribution to match. But it would be a little hard to make S/mileage unfair since they only have 4 members. XD
Some of the parts of the song are really great. I love the echo effects on the members solo lines. It kinda sounds like an owl hooting but it’s cute. I also really love the “Taisetsu na yoru no KYANDORU. Kinenbi wasurete bu bu bu bu. Soredemo onna no kotowaru. Kako ni shitsugi ni kanseru.” part. (By the way, I romanized this by ear, so I have no idea if it’s 100% right. It sounds pretty right to me though. XD)

AKB48-Chance no Junban preview

With less than a month until the release date a radio preview for AKB48’s 19th single, Chance no Junban is out.

I usually have a love hate relationship with AKB48 singles. Or I should say it takes me a while to like a majority of AKB48’s singles. Their are hardly any songs I like instantly. But after a couple of weeks I’m usually in love with the song. Like Beginner for example. I hated the song when I first heard it because it was too heavy and not cutesy enough. But now I am in love with the song. Mostly because I read a translation of the lyrics and they are great. Or Oogoe Diamond as another example. I heard Oogoe Diamond for the first time and was annoyed by the music. It took me a couple of months before I actually started to love the song. And know it’s one of my favorite singles.

I’m sure you’re wondering what all of that has to do with Chance to Junban. But I’m getting to that! XD
I wanted to merely show by basis of how I judge AKB48 songs, and how critical I am of their songs even if they are great. Mostly because I am instantly in love with Chance no Junban. That’s right instantly in love. I love how the song is all sparkly, upbeat, and adorable. This is pretty much how I like all my idols to sounds. Of course their are some exceptions like the lyrics and if the different sound is a good thing. I am actually pleasantly by how good the song is. In all honestly, I didn’t expect to like this song. I don’t even know why, I just didn’t. And now I am actually looking forward to the PV. Let’s hope it’s better than Beginner, and less fanservicy as Heavy Rotation.

On another note, personally, I am extremely sad that me beloved Mayu isn’t part of the A-side. However, I am excited that girls I have never heard of will be featured in this single’s A-side. (Since, I only care about the A-side. I’m not a big enough AKB48 fan, yet, to care about Under Girls and Theater Girls. So, sue me!) It will help a lot for me to remember their names, and have them burned into my memory once and for all. Since I only know a handful of girls featured in Chance no Junban. (If you at all care here are the girls I know of: Kojima Haruna, Nakagawa Haruka, Maeda Ami, Takajo Aik, Kuramochi Asuka, Kasai Tomomi, and Maeda Atsuko. Which is less than half. XD)

Sorry about the long post. Here’s what you came for, the preview.

Perfume-Nee PV preview

With two weeks until the release of Perfume’s new single Nee a PV preview has been released.

I was a little bit upset that the PV is just basically the commercial mixed with a dance scene and close ups. It’s a little bit unoriginal. But Perfume seems to do that when their songs are used for commercials. There is honestly nothing really going on in the PV, so I’m sorry I have nothing witty to say about it. Honestly the best part of the whole PV is how cute A-chan and Nocchi look. And that’s honestly it.
Though I am pretty excited to finally here more of the song then just Nee. The song is actually really great. I love the distorted music sequences throughout the song. And of course the Nee parts are absolutely adorable.

C-ute-Aitai Lonely Christmas preview

The radio preview for C-ute’s new single, Aitai Lonely Christmas was just released a few hours ago.

When I first heard the title of C-ute’s new single I was honestly expecting something along the lines of Shiroi Tokyo or Oujisama to Yuki no Yoru. I was also thinking it was going to be a slow wintry ballad. So I was a bit surprised how this song barely sounds like a Christmas song at all. And yet the song is completely what I was expecting it to be. A sound about being sad that you’re all alone on Christmas. And since I can understand the smallest fraction of this song seems to be about wanting to see someone but they don’t show up. At least I think it might be. My Japanese is pretty limited so don’t quote me on that.

Overall I’m actually surprised by how much I really like the song. The music is really good and the lyrics seem to be heartbreaking yet at the same time cute. This is also seems to be the most evenly distributed C-ute song ever. Of course Airi has the most lines, but she only has like 3 more lines. And every other girls has basically the same amount of lines. And what’s really surprising I actually really love Saki’s voice in this song. Her voice usually annoys me so much it is a little annoying at parts of this song but it’s not so over barring. And believe it or not I think Mai sounds the best in this song. Her voice just blends perfectly with the music.

KAT-TUN-Change UR World preview

KAT-TUN will be releasing their first single in their new Jinless era on November 17th. The song is entitled Change UR World and is being used as the theme for Kame’s news show Going! Sports and News. In my opinion this release seems pretty rushed. The single was announced only one month before the release. Usually JE releases are announced at least 2 months in advance. But 1 month, 2 months, I guess it’s not really that big of a deal. It’s less time we have to wait for a PV.

I find it completely hilarious and ironic that their very first official Jinless release sounds completely like the songs Jin shines in. Jin always sings in this breathy sort of sexy manner. And that’s exactly how this song sounds. I actually mistook Kame and Maru for Jin. And tell me Kame’s Change UR World screaming at the end doesn’t remind you of Jin’s backup/screams from Real Face. Literally after hearing the first 30 seconds my actual reaction was, “wow Jin sounds great in this.” Then I of course immediately realized that Jin isn’t even in KAT-TUN anymore.

But beyond the whole Jin-ness of the song, I think the song is absolutely amazing. This song blows Going and No More Pain out of the water. There isn’t even a competition this song just automatically wins. The music is pretty intense for most of the song but when the chorus ends the music is absolutely incredible. It’s like Keep The Faith mixed with Real Face but times a thousand. I’m sorry V6 and NEWS, but I think KAT-TUN has just made the best song about changing a world.
The line distribution seems pretty fair. It seems like every member gets a solo. And Koki’s is absolutely hot. But Koki’s rap is actually pretty weird sounding and it kinda throws the song off track for a bit. Which I’m sad about because Koki’s raps are usually the best part of KAT-TUN songs. And not even because I’m a biased Koki fan. Koki’s raps are usually just full of win. But in this song it sounds like Koki has the hiccups while rapping. It’s kinda funny.

Arashi-Hatenai Sora preview

Arashi is releasing yet another new single entitled Hatenai Sora on November 10th. So with less than a month to the release we finally have a song preview. And it’s pretty safe to say this will finally be Arashi’s last single for the year. And I bet 2011 will have maybe 2 Arashi singles.

Can I just say I am instantly in love! As soon as it picked up and the chorus kicked in I was sold. See this is the kind of relatively simple Arashi songs that I like. Where it’s sung slowly, but it picks up, and the music is still upbeat. And it’s kind of weird that the only person to get a solo line is Nino, and he only has one. But I’m not complaining being a Nino fan. It just adds to the fact that this single reminds me a lot of Beautiful Days. Since the music, the way it’s sung, the lyrics, and even that the only solo line goes to Nino.
And because Arashi fans are super dedicated there’s already translated lyrics for the song. And I gotta say the song is just super positive and uplifting. I really like the whole message of the song. It’s really similar to Beautiful Days, which is one of my favorite Arashi singles. To be honest this song seems like Beautiful Days part 2.
