The radio rip for KAT-TUN’s upcoming single, Run For You, has just been released. Apparently we first heard this song back in May in a Suzuki commercial. But I do not remember that at all. XD
I was completely not expecting this type of song at all. The song has an extremely heavy electronic/techno beat. It’s like Going and The D-Motion times a thousand. I actually really love the overall sound of the song. I love elctronic/club music. And I love auto tuning. However, I don’t think KAT-TUN should ever use auto tune. There’s just something about the tones of their voices that they sound absolutely horrible when auto tuned. Kame and Koki sound the worst. Kame’s voice gets screechy and Koki ends up sounding like a frog. But no one sounds more like a frog than Inoo Kei. XD And actually Taguchi sounds pretty horrible too. His nasally voice becomes more prominent. But whoever did the auto tuning this time fixed Koki’s lines. And your really only hear his frog voice once at 2:42. Bur luckly less then half of the song is auto tuned. Anymore and I think the song might have been completely ruined for me. But there are some good elements to the song. First off, the bridge is amazing. I think it might might actually be catchier than the chorus, which doesn’t really happen to often with songs. The chorus is pretty catchy too. Even though it sounds more like Lan Lan Lan For You, then Run. Which is pretty hilarious. Also randomly throughout the song some random person with a deep voice says Run Run Run. Which is pretty weird, and throws the song off a bit. I laughed pretty loud the first time I heard that. Another thing I love about this song is how it’s not just completely Kame. It sounds like Kame only has 1 solo line. But it may actually be more, because it’s hard to tell 100% who is singing when their auto tuned. Ueda’s and Kame’s voice end up sounding very similar. But for most of the song it seems to be Maru and Koki. The only time you really hear Kame is during harmony lines, or group lines where he takes the higher melody. Which I’m not really complaining about. Any song that features Koki a lot is good in my book.
A morning show has featured a PV preview for Watarirouka Hashiritai’s upcoming single Hetappi Wink. Some of this clip is filled with Watarirouka Hashiritai7 talking, and all some random making of the PV footage. So, that brings the PV preview down to about 30 seconds. Which is actually perfect. Because like I’ve said before, anything more than that and it ruins the surprise.
Now since I wasn’t really too impressed with the song, I was half expected to be just as underwhelmed with the PV. Luckily, I actually really like the PV. It is a little bit only cheap and simple side, but it’s absolutely adorable. But this is Watarirouka Hashiritai7. They could be just standing there the entire PV, and I would still think it was adorable. The main theme of this PV is behind the scenes of making a commercial. I’m not really impressed with behind the scenes PVs since they are a dime a dozen. Kitahara Sayaka’s Yappa Seishun PV just had a similar kind of PV. However, the way that they are doing the behind the scenes theme is this PV makes it interesting. And it really does work for this PV. It seems that Mayu has to wink for some product that she’s selling. But she just doesn’t seem to know how to wink. So, most of the PV so far shows Mayu trying to learn how to wink. No doubt at the very end of the full length PV she’ll wink for the first time. It’s pretty cute since the song is about winking to focus on that. But I’m not sure there are too many people in the world who can’t wink. But I do remember my friend’s British grandmother telling me it was impolite to wink in England. So, she literally couldn’t/didn’t know how to. I guess it is possible then. XD The PV is cute but I think the dance scenes ruin it a bit. Not because the dance is simple, because it is. But Watarirouka Hashiritai always has really simple dances. The dance set itself is what makes this PV look so cheap. The set itself is cute. A checked floor with a very Italian looking garden. With very pretty climbing roses. Which is fine and dandy looking, but only close up. When the camera zooms out and pans the entire dance set, you can see just how cheap the set is. It’s just obviously fake looking. Like you can make out where the top of the set ends. However, since the PV has a behind the scenes theme they might have actually been going for that kind of look. But I think it’s still pretty lazy on their part.
The first episode of Hana Kimi aired today, so that means we finally have a preview of AKB48’s upcoming 22nd single, Flying Get.
I have been in love with this song since the first listen. As of right now I’ve been listening to the song on a loop for about 10-15minutes now. The music is just incredible. It has this sort of island or tropical feel to it. I’m sure there’s a legit name for this type of music, but I have no idea what it is. XD The music is just energetic, upbeat, and super happy. There’s a lot going on with the music. It sounds like there’s horns and bongos. The song is just amazing, and it has a very distinct summer feel to it. It blows Everyday Kachuusha out of the water. And I think I might this song more than SKE48’s Pareo wa Emerald. Which I didn’t even think was possible. I don’t know, words can’t properlly describe how awesome this song is or how much I love it.
Since this song is really amazing, and with the drama tie-in, there’s no doubt that this song will easily top Everyday Kachuusha’s sales. Which I’m kinda excited about. Have this song beat the record for the best first week sales. And then I’d actually be happy. Because I think this song deserves it.
I would recomend watching this video quickly, if you want to hear the song. Since the video is the actual ending to Hana Kimi, this video most likely won’t be up for much longer.
The radio rip for Berryz Koubou’s upcoming 27th single, Aa, Yoru ga Akeru, has just been released.
When I first listened to the radio rip, I wasn’t expecting what I heard at all. The song is very weird sounding. It’s like 2 different genres at once. It sounds like techno, diso, funk, and a ballad all rolled into one. And the music sounds like a bunch of different H!P songs jumbled together. It sounds like Furare Pattern, Suki Sugite Baka Mitai, Grand Demo Rouka Demo Medatsu Kimi, Happy! Stand Up, and Koi no Jubaku. Even though the song is almost a jumbled mess at times, I absolutely love every second of this song. The music is incredibly weird, infectious, and slightly addicting. And I love all the high notes at the end of the chorus. They sound really amazing. Especially Miyabi’s. And I love all the little harmonizing she does in the middle of the song. But Yurina is really bringing it too. The one line she hits at the end is really amazing. I never really noticed how high of a range Yurina really has until I heard Heroine ni Narou ka. Now, if only she was better at singing live. XD
Even though I am love with the song,I’m a little dissapointed by the line distribution. The song is back to what most Berryz songs are. The 4 main singers and then you never hear the other members at all. I literally can’t hear the other members. I’m sure they sing. But even at group parts you can barely hear their voices. I think the only other one you can kinda hear cleatly is Saki. And not only that, this song seems to mainly focus on Risako. Which is always boring, because they always focus on her. Just when it seems like Berryz is finally letting the other members sing, they make a song like this.
It was announced that Kanjani8 will be releasing yet another single. The single is entitled Tsubusa ni Koi and will be released on August 17th. The song will be used as the ending theme for Nishikido Ryo’s drama Zenkai Girl. This wil also be Kanjani8’s 4th single this year.
Geez 4 singles and it’s only July. At this rate they could squeeze out another single or 2 before the year ends. However, that would be extreme overkill. Since one of those 4 singles was a double A-side, ot already feels like this will be their 5th single this year. But more power to them I guess. But I guess this means there’s absolutely no hope for NEWS to release a single this year. Unless they pull another Fighting Man and release something in November again.
I’m not really the biggest Kanjani8 fan. I’m trying to get into them more. But as of right now, I’m not super interested in them. But my readers seem to like when I cover Kanjani8, so here we are.
Kikkawa Yuu announced, via her Kikka Mail, the she will be releasing a new song. The new song is entitled Hapirapi~Sunrise~, but no other details about the song are known. Not even the release date, or whether this song is an upcoming single or just a B-side track to one.
Regardless of the information being pretty vauge as of now, I’m just really excited that we’re getting new info on her music. Which means it won’t be much longer until we get another single from Kikka. Which is great news because I absolutely love Kikka and I adored Kikkake wa You. She’s only released one single and I already like her 10 times more than ManoEri. Since Kikkake wa You was released in May we probably won’t get another single until September. But I honestly don’t mind waititng a bit.
Avex’s official youtube channel has posted a commercial for DiVA’s upcoming 2nd single Cry. The commercial is about 30 seconds long and is the first time the fans get to hear the song.
I really had high hopes for DiVA to become my favorite AKB48 sub-group. They are the best singers in AKB48, and after watching the little bit of AKB48 shows I’ve watched I’m starting to really like Sayaka. I wasn’t really impressed with Tsuki no Uragawa all that much. Lyric wise the song is beautiful. Singing and music wise, it was pretty lack luster. The music was too soft and the singing was too bland. They didn’t use their full singing potential. However, in this song that’s not the case. During the chorus we get to hear some fairly high and powerful notes sung beautifully. I mean, the notes are held seamlessly. And we get to hear each member have a solo line. At least I think, I’m like 80% sure the last solo in the commercial was Ayaka. Even though I am really excited that we finally have some high notes in a DiVA song, I’m not really impressed so much with the song itself. The song is basically the same as Tuski no Uragawa. Except that the music it’s a fraction higher. I know that slow songs and ballads show off a singer’s vocal ability. But does that really mean that all the songs they release have to be slow? Not really. They could have a regular idol type of song but then hit some really high notes along the way or during the chorus. The songs also seem to be this tempo because DiVA is going with a more mature and adult image. Which is why I don’t really like mature idol groups that much. They’re boring. Mature and idol groups should never really be used in the same sentence. At least in my opinion. But there I go jumping to conclusions. This is only the chorus of this song, no one knows what the verse sound like yet. But I’m willing to bet it’s nearly the same as the chorus.
Now on to the PV. Wow, for being an AKB48 subgroup they release some pretty cheap PVs. At least the set for Tsuki no Uragawa was pretty, despite also being a cheap PV. But are they serious with the Cry set? They are dancing in front of a plastic tree! And the insanely bright setting of the dance space doesn’t fit with the tempo or theme of the song at all. The close-up shots don’t really get anymore cutting edge either. They are just standing in front of falling water. Which makes sense because the song is called Cry. But it’s been done before. Give us something new and exciting. However, the PV isn’t all bad. The girls look absolutely gorgeous. I love the military inspired outfits. The lighting makes them look practically flawless. And I love that the close-ups have their hair styled simple.
Buono’s official Youtube channel has just uploaded the PV for Buono’s upcoming 12th single, Natsu Dakara.
The PV isn’t all that different than the PV preview we saw a week ago. There’s only like a handful of new scenes. And after seeing the PV preview I was expecting a whole lot more than what we had already seen. For most of the PV it’s just the girls standing in front of a door or sitting on a couch. With a few random activites thrown in so the PV doesn’t seem as simple as it is. But like I said before I am actually ok with such a simple PV. After thei last single had 2 expensive PVs with a lot going on, it’s actual a nice change to have this PV be a bit more simple. It actually fits really nicely with the tempo of the song. I love how the whole PV is nothing but a giant beauty shot because my girls look simply gorgeous. The only thing I am not really that happy with is how Airi centered the song and PV is. Since Buono only has 3 members they have always been extremely fair song and PV wise. But it seems since Buono switched to Zetima they’ve been throwing Airi a couple more lines than the other girls. Which I’m not really into.
Nice wedges. XD
They look super pretty in natural lighting.
They might be doing nothing but shoving Airi in your face, but with good reason. She looks really pretty and cute here.
The dresses are beautiful too. Very simple and elegant.
Miyabi is the real standout of this PV though. She’s look gorgeous.
Airi looks beyond adorable in this hat.
I think Momo’s a little overexcited. She’s making way too intense a face for saying the word sunshine.
Gorgeous, just gorgeous. She’s only looking a way, and she looks incredible.
Momoko looks really cute here.
And she’s back to looking creepy. This is why I love Momo. XD
Miyabi looks great here. She looks super friendly and approachable. And I love how her dress is 70’s inspired.
Airi’s pouty face is so cute.
I don’t get why they keep waving.
Miya’s innocent face is so adorable.
I love how Airi is making more of a sultry face.
But lolz that Momoko is just giving a blank stare.
Airi is always watching. Airi kind of looks scary here. XD
Airi is such a cutie.
Momoko is so cute and lovely.
There are so many scenes in these PV where the girls look amazing. Like, look how cute Miyabi looks.
Miyabi’s too into this.
Himitsu da yo~
The bubbles make me think of C-ute’s Momoiro Sparkling PV and Guardians4’s Party Time PV.
I just had a serious flashback to Buono’s Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! PV.
A commercial for Min Min Daho energy drink featuring SDN48 has started airing. In the commercial we get to hear a short preview of SDN48’s 3rd single Min.Min.Min. And I mean a short preview. The commerical is only 18 seconds longs, so we pretty much only get to hear the very beginning of the chorus.
The song sounds completely different than their last 2 singles. GAGAGA and Ai Juseyo both had fairly heavy dance beats. This song is just completely toned down, and not really what I was expecting at all. I know SDN48 has a few slow B-sides, so it’s not really that new for them to make a song this slow. But this song so far doesn’t really fit with their theme. The song sounds too cute for SDN48’s sexy/adult image. I don’t know, I’m just a little thrown off by the song. I mean, it doesn’t sound that bad so far. But it just doesn’t fit them.
It was just announced that SDN48 will be releasing their 3rd single. The song is entitled Min.Min.Min. and will be released on August 17th.
I have a pretty love hate relationship with SDN48. It’s mostly hate though because I’m not into their overall theme. The only only really comes in because I absolutely loved GAGAGA. However, I wasn’t really impressed with Ai Juseyo. I do like Ai Juseyo more now than when it first came out, I’m still not all that enamored with it. Hopefully, SDN48 will mkae me incredibly happy and will release another song like GAGAGA. It seems to be a similar single already because both GAGAGA and Min.Min.Min. aren’t actual words. Now hire the same Korean composer from GAGAGA, and I’ll be happy.
The radio rip for Watarirouka Hashiritai 7’s 8th single, Hetappi Wink, has been released. Can I just say that I was under the impression that the 8th single was just going to be Watarirouka Hashiritai. Boy, do I feel stupid now. XD
After hearing the song I am actually a little underwhelmed by the song. As of right now, the song doesn’t really have that wow factor. Pretty much all of Watarirouka Hashiritai’s songs have been effortlessly cute. But with this song it’s missing the immediate cute factor you get with songs like Gyu or Valentine Kiss. The song is pretty heavy and upbeat, which would usually be a big plus for me. But for some reason the music just reminds me of Shugo Chara Eggs songs. Not even because the music is similar, because it’s not. There’s just something similar about it that I can’t quite put my finger on. I am also completely unimpressed with the singing. I know Watarirouka Hashiritai isn’t exactly known for having the best voices, but at some parts of the song the singing sounds a lot more strained than usual. And right after the chorus they repeat the word wink like 8 times, which comes off more as annoying than cute. Just the way they are saying wink sounds like they are trying to hard for it to sound cute instead of letting it naturally happen.
I’m a little sad by how lackluster the song is. Watarirouka Hashiritai is my favorite AKB48 sub-group. And I was expecting a lot more from this song. Hopefully, the song will eventually grow on me. But for now it’s not one of my favorites.
A PV preview for Itano Tomomi’s 2nd single, Fui Ni, has been released.
This PV seems to have a higher budget than Dear J did. Dear J was pretty much just a dance PV. Which I guess worked because it was a dance song. The Fui Ni PV on the other hand seems to have an actual storyline. The whole storyline of this PV seems to be that Tomomi is some sort of socialite. She’s dressed high end while being driven around, and they make point of flashes her diamond earings. And besides that she’s shoving her Juicy Couture bag in our face. I’m only 80% sure it’s a Juicy bag. It has the charm that they’re known for, and it looks like the charm is their label. You have no idea how much it’s eating me up that I’m not 100% sure what bag that is. XD Besides that socilaite aspect of the PV, the PV is filled with a lot of fanservice. Tomomi’s laying in a bed with her cleavage emphasized, suggestivly eating a strawberry, and with wet hair that eludes to her have taken a shower.
The PV looks pretty mediocre to me. I’m actually only looking forward to it for the fashion aspect.
The PV preview for Buono’s upcoming 12th single, Natsu Dakara, has just been released. Actually a full radio rip of the song has been released too, but I can’t find it on youtube. So, I’ve yet to hear the full song. Mostly because I don’t like donwloading things.
Coming after their last single, Zassou no Uta, which had some pretty rockish songs and awesome PVs this single is a little more tame. Both the song and the PV. Buono hasn’t released as song this clam since Take It Easy. Which was my least favorite Buono A-side to date. However, this song is a bit more upbeat than Take It Easy. Thank god. It actually has a more co.no.mi.chi feel. Where the song wasn’t 100% rock, but it wasn’t too soft. Natsu Dakara has a much lighter and softer feel than co.no.mi.chi though, but it’s similar to it in that sense. And also because of that I’m not that thrilled with the song. It’s not bad, but Buono has definitely done better.
While on the other side, I am completely in love with the PV. Because the PV is shot outside/by an open door, the girls are shot in this beautiful soft, natural lighting. Making them look absolutely gorgeous. And making the PV almost like one giant beauty shot. Other than the girls looking stunning, the PV itself is pretty simple. So far there doesn’t seem to be any dance shots. So the whole PV preivew is filled with the girls close-ups, standing in front of a door, and sitting on a couch. Which doesn’t really make for the most exciting PV ever. But my girls look amazing, and that’s really all I can ask for from an H!P, or pretty much any PV in general. If the PV was nothing but them fighting giant octopi, but they looked flawless doing it, I won’t really mind.
The official SKE48 youtube channel uploaded a short version of the PV to their upcoming 6th single, Pareo wa Emerald. The PV preview is 1 minute and 38 seconds, so we get to see about 1/3 of the PV. I actually hate when PV previews are this long. Maybe I’m alone on this, but I actually think anything more than 30 seconds ruins the surprise of the PV.
Since this single is being released in the summer and a pareo is a wraparound skirt that’s usually worn over a bathing suit. I think it was pretty obvious that this PV was going to feature SKE48 wearing bikinis. Most of the girls are wearing bikini tops and pareos, but some of the girls are wearing pareo tops and shorts. And since Matsui Jurina is one of them, I’m guessing it’s because only the young girls are being covered up. Which makes no sense because at the end of the preview it shows the members in full bikinis jumping in the ocean. It even seems like Jurina might also be wearing a full bikini too. Selective censorship for the win, I guess? XD
The PV is a little different than I expected it. I thought it was going to be very similar to Ponytail to Shushu, where the whole PV was basically dancing on the beach and close-ups. But I’m glad that this PV has more to offer than just dancing on the beach. To keep up with the 48 groups school girl theme, the rest of the PV is either filmed in a school or doing school activites. Such as watching male classmates play basketball and being part of the rowing team. However, since they are all running out of the school in the beginning, I think this is supposed to be what they are doing with their summer break. Which actually adds even more the the summer theme.
I absolutely adore the song and the PV seems really cute and summery. So, I’m happy all around.
KAT-TUN announced that they will be releasing their 16th single. The single is titled Run For You and will be released on August 3rd.
I’m trying to be excited for this single, and I am in a sense. I was just pretty dissapointed with their last single. White was a good song and all, but nothing will ever convince me that White worked better as an A-side than Perfect would have. I just think management made a terrible mistake with that. I’m also hoping that this single will be more intense than White was. I mean Change UR World and Ultimate Wheels had pretty heavy and intense music. They completely had that original KAT-TUN feel that we hadn’t seen in a while. And honestly that’s what I would love KAT-TUN to sound like from now on. To me that type of music marked the new Jinless KAT-TUN. However, with Kisumai debuting they’ll probably take over that sound since they already have been making songs like that.
It was just announced that Berryz Koubou will be releasing their 27th single. The single is entitled Aa, Yoru ga Akeru and will be released on August 10th. Which is just 2 months and 2 days after the release of Ai no Dangan. And this also makes Berryz the 3rd idol group to be releasing a single on August 10th. The other 2 being Kis-My-Ft2 and DiVA.
I’m really hoping that this single turns out to be good. Lately, every other single they release is awesome while the other single isn’t that great. Maji Bomber was great, Shining Power not so much. Heroine ni Narou ka was amazing, Ai no Dangan could have been better. I just hope they don’t release two duds in a row. Also, I don’t understand why Berryz is releasing another single so soon after their last one. Usually Berryz releases a new single every 3 or 4 months. Two months later just seems excessive.
After waiting for what seems like an eternity, the full PV for Hey! Say! JUMP’s new single, Over, has finally been released. With only 3 days until the single is released! That’s some brilliant marketing right there. XD
Over the past 2 weeks we’ve been pretty much bombarded with PV previews, 3 in total. So, it felt like we saw a good chunk of the PV. And it turns out that we actually did see most of it, because there’s really not much going on in the PV. The PV is 6 minutes long, you’d think that they would do something exciting with the extra minute and a half. However, the entire time before the song starts is spent on the phone. I mean, I know the whole song is like a phone conversation, but the talking in the beginning was actually a little boring. What I did understand of it was, apparently Rysouke was dumped and the members are trying to cheer him up. Which actually fits perfectly with the song. But I honestly could have done with out. It’s just like when AKB48 adds like 4 minutes to their PVs to add talking and a storyline. IBut I find it completely boring and I usually just skip it. XD Off subject, but I understood like 90% of what they were saying, so yay for me. I understood pretty much everything except for Hikaru, the last thing Daiki said, and the last bit of what Ryutaro and Yabu said. No one cares though, so, I digress. The rest of the PV are dance scenese and then their close up shots. Over the past few weeks I’ve gotten over the ugly dance set, and it doesn’t really botther me so much anymore. It’s not spectacular, but it could have been much worse. The close-ups are what I have a problem with. The whole PV is filmed in a school. Mostly the hallways and common area. Didn’t we just have a JE PV insanely similar to this one? Or are we supposed to forget that KAT-TUN’s White PV exists? And then the rest of the close-ups/group shots are in slow motion with random objects flying around. Which is what they did in their last PV for Arigatout ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo. But in this PV they did do it a lot more and in a more artistic way to make the PV more interesting. But it is still completely redundant. You would think with all this scrutiny and harsh criticism that I hate the PV, but I don’t really. But I don’t love it either. It’s somewhere more in the middle for me. The guys look super cute, they are wearing normal clothes instead of ridiculous costumes, and the overall look is 100 times better than their last PV. Yuto. Especailly since he looked super adorable. Much like any PV, there’s obvious pros and cons. This PV is probably at about a 6 for me. And is probably their 2nd best PV. However, this PV needed more
Ryosuke looks gorgeous, as usual.
Has anyone else noticed that Daiki has been getting extra attention lately? He’s the 2nd main focus in this PV after Ryosuke.
Hikaru’s hair is pretty unfortunate in this PV.
Ashita wa ashita no kaze yo fuke~ Yuto’s adorable and said the most adorable line of encouragement.
The face Ryosuke has to make to show that he’s being cheered up is so stupid and obviously fake.
Hot. Ryosuke looks innocent and sexy at the same time.
Can I just point out how hilarious it is that Ryosuke is wearing a hair clip? Johnny’s: making your favorite idols act effeminate since the 1960’s. XD
Yesh, head on this isn’t really a good hairstyle.
I still don’t understand the random obelisks. But whatever.
Yabu looks hot, but Keito is all derp in the background. Lolz.
I really need to stop making caps of just Ryosuke. But he looks so good in this PV.
Yuto, why so serious apathetic?
I love how Daiki is the only member to not make the same exact expression during this random epileptic montage.
Just incredible. *O* No other member is trying half as hard as Ryosuke is too look hot. I kinda wish they were.
Takaki actually looks pretty cute with this hair.
There’s just no words.
I don’t really like that my favorite are shoved to the back.
Random floating objects, where have I seen that before?
Oh yeah that’s right, the Arigatou PV.
I love how Inoo is trying to look cool here. It’s not really working for him though. XD
Adorable! This post has become so Ryosuke biased, but I don’t even care. H’es shown the most and looks the best. What do you want from me?
Of course it ends with a random Ryosuke butt shot. I mean, can you think of another way to end it? But seriously lolz.
After having their debut pushed back because of the earthquake, and having their debut rumored to be in July, we finally have an official announcment for their debut single. Kisumai’s debut single Everybody Go will be released on Nakajima Yuto’s birthday August 10th.
All I can say is OMG YES! Even since I heard Everybody Go on Shounen Club, I’ve been in love with the song. I’ve even been tweeting how much I want this to be their debut single.
I think I mostly love this song because I’m not a Kisumai fan. I mean, Everybody Go and FIRE BEAT are the only songs I’ve ever heard by them. I say that because every devoted Kisumai fan seems to completly hate this song. Apparently it’s too happy and cutesy compared to what they usually sing. That doesn’t really make much sense. We’re talking about an idol group that dances on roller skates during their performances. I think this is tame compared to the absolute cheese they could be releasing. XD But as a Kisumai newbie I absolutely adore this song. I think it’s super catchy. I’ve been listening to it pretty much nonestop. I just hope the PV has been filmed already and I don’t have to have the PV ruined by Taisuke’s horrendous Ikemen desu ne hair. XD
You can of course buy this single from CDJapan by clicking the links below.
AKB48 sub-group DiVA, announced they will be releasing their 2nd single. The single is currently untitled and will be released on Nakajima Yuto’s birthday August 10th.
I was a little underwhelmed by DiVA’s first single. The lyrics were good, don’t get me wrong, but the song itself just fell flat to me. So, I’m really hoping that this song has the wow factor that I’m looking for. DiVA has some of the best singers in all of AKB48, and are supposed to be a dance and vocal group, so I really hope this time they use the girls to their full potential and really showcase their ranges. Much like with their debut single, I’m expecting something spectacular and I don’t want to be dissapointed.
C-ute announced that they will be releasing their 17th single. The single will be entitled Sekaiichi Happy na Onna no ko and will be released on September 7th.
I am really excited to see that C-ute is releasing another single. Lately C-ute has been releasing some of their best single. And each new single is completely different than the last. Anymore you don’t know what to expect from C-ute, which is always exciting. However, judging from the title this song seems like another happy upbeat song. Which might be a little boring for fans since they jsut released the fairly upbeat Momoiro Sparkling. But I actually love cuter idol songs, so I’m happy that it seems to be another C-ute song. But you know I do love when C-ute throws a random song in there like Shock or Kiss Me Aishiteru.
Morning Musume has just announced they will be releasing their 47th single, which will be the last single to feature Takahashi Ai. It will be a double A-side entitled Kono Chikyuu no Heiwa wo Honki de Negatterun da yo! / Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai and will be released on September 14th. Takahashi Ai’s graduation version of the single also features a solo song by Ai-chan.
Everyone knew this day would come eventually, Takahashi Ai’s final single. But even though her graduation was announced months ago it didn’t really seem real to me until this moment. The moment when you say, “This is it. This is her last single.” And you know, I actually feel a lot sadder than I was expecting to feel. Ai-chan is hardly my favorite member but it feels really sad to see her go. For some strange reason I am actually choked up. It feels surreal for thre to be a Morning Musume without her.
But back on topic, I am actually extremely excited for his single to be a double A-side. Momusu hasn’t had a double A-side in a long time. The first song, which translates to, I’m really hoping for peace on Earth, seems like it is going to be a very powerful and meaningful song. The title immediately makes me think it’s going to be a mix of Aozora ga Itsumademo Tsuzuki You na Mirai de Are and Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou. While the second song Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai, which translates to I want to shop with him, seems more like a fun upbeat song. I’m thinking lyrics wise it sounds like it’s going to be along the lines of Lemon Iro to Milk Tear, Nebou desu. Date na no ni, or Koi ING. Or at least that’s what I’m hoping for. XD
It really seems like H!P and UFA are really having Morning Musume’s longest leader go out with a bang. Double A-side graduation single, solo song, and concerts at the legendary Budokan. I really wish this single will get number 1 on the charts. Just because I think Ai-chan really deserves to go out on top.
So, I haven’t really been keeping up with SKE48 despite me saying how I was going to over a month ago. Apparently SKE48 is going to release their 6th single, Pareo wa Emerald, on July 27th. But that was announced in May, so I’m sure most people have heard about it already. SKE48 preformed this song recently during one of their stages. (I think that’s were this clip is from, I’m 100% sure.)
As soon as the song started and it was just as a heavy dance track as Banzi Venus and 1!2!3!4! Yoroshiku I was in love. It actually is different fromthose songs, because they were a little more electronic sounding. While this song is a little bit more laid back. It sounds like amped up version of Gome ne Summer. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I absolutely love every song that is basically a walking idol cliche. So if a song has heavy music and is insanely upbeat chances are I’m going to like it. I mean, it’s songs like this that make me want to get into SKE48 to begin with. The song might be a little boring for people, because it’s sung nearly the same way throughout the song. And honestly that’s the only draw back that this song has. But the song and dance have such high energy that I absolutely love the song.

The radio rip for Itano Tomomi’s upcoming 2nd solo single, Fui Ni, has just been released.
Fui Ni sounds a lot like Tomomi’s first solo single Dear J, it also has very heavy trance/electronic music. And it’s also auto tuned. I love the direction they are going with Itano Tomomi. I love music that sounds like this. Mostly because American music is pretty much nothing but auto tuned dance tracks. But I absolutely love it. But I’m actually pretty convinced that they choose this type of music for her because it covers her less than perfect singing. This song is alos little bit different than Dear J. Dear J was pretty much a dance song from start to finish. But in Fui Ni it has a heavy dance track in the beginning, and then the music and singing gets toned down during the verse. But only the tinest bit because it sounds like her voice is still autotuned. And then the chorus hits. The music picks up which is a plus. But I have to admit the singing is pretty rough. When that chorus hit I was not expecting it to sound like that at all. I do like the song, but it’s only ok to me. It sounds like they took a soft sounding idol song, and then the dance music was an after thought. The singing and the dance music do not mix at all. And it makes the overall song sound pretty awkward. I was hoping for another infectious dance track like Dear J. And instead I think this song falls flat. Pretty much the only thing I like about this song is the music. I do love this kind of direction for her, I just wish it was executed better.
The PV for Momoiro Clover Z’s upcoming single Z Densetsu ~Owarinaki Kakumei~ has been released. After weeks of teasing when the PV preview was uploaded 2 weeks ago. And even recently the full version of the PV was uploading in low quality to youtube. But I have been refraining from watching it until a high quality version was available.
Since the PV preview was 2 and a half minutes long, the PV doesn’t have too many scenes that are new to us. But that actually doesn’t really bother me. Because the PV is so quirky and so completely unserious that it’s absolutely incredible. MomoClo has never been an idol group that too itself seriously or was to be taken as mature. And after going major all of their PVs have reflected that. But none as imature, silly, and WTF worthy as this PV. From start to finish the PV is pure insanity, mostly because they are dressed up as Power Rangers. And the fact that they bring flowers back to life and cheer up sadness just by running around in a circle is as ridiculous as it is adorable.
I never really understood why Shiori is dressed as a teddy bear astronaut.
Cheap effects, yet still kind of cool looking. XD
Kanako looks really pretty here.
And her smile is so infectious.
Shiori is such a cutie.
Oh man it’s hayashi rice. I think I watched Ryusei no Kizuna too much. XD
Why do they always show idols eating? Does every wota have a food fetish or something?
I never used to notice Ayaka, but she is starting to really grow on me.
And yet more eating. XD
Of course my personal favorite Momoka is looking as adorable as ever.
Especially here. *O*
Poor Reni still looks too thin. They should have had her and Shiori switch verses. Lol. It’s actually not funny, Reni seriously has a problem.
Ayaka’s suggestive pose.
And Momoka’s even more suggestive pose. XD
This has got to be the most awkward dance in idol history.
There’s just no words. XD
I’m having serious flashbacks.
To the Ikuze! Kaitou Shoujo PV of course.
Ayaka’s pose is so cute.
Her wink just killed me. *O*
Hara heta~ That made me seriously laugh.
This dance move is incredible.
Fail! XD No, actually I probably would have dropped my leg sooner. XD
The PV for Not Yet’s 2nd single, Naminori Kakigoori, was finally released. And I have to say I’ve really been waiting for this PV. I have been in love with this song practically since the first time I heard it.
Since this song has a summer feel and theme to it, the PV pretty much matches the theme to a T. Most of the PV features the girls working at a beachside restaurant. With a very Hawaiian, tiki sort of theme. Which is the perfect setting. Nothing screams summer more than having a summer job, or going to one of those beachside restaurant. But I’m a little weirded out by those scenes. Because while they are waitressing the camera angles are in such a way to make it seem like the members are taking the viewers orders/serving them. I don’t even know why that just creeps me out a bit. They should save things like that for their dating sim game. XD Of course the rest of the PV really plays up the beach setting. The members are seen running along the beach, surfing, and lounging in a hammock. And of course they have water splashed on them throughout the PV. Half because it’s a summer themed PV and half for obvious fanservice reasons. But probably my favorite part of the entire PV are the scenes where they are performing live. I think it was an adorable idea to have they perform at they resturant work at. And you gotta love that the crowd was full of wota to clap along to the song. Much like they had in Watarirouka Hashiritai’s Kanpeki guu no ne PV. The only thing I think this PV is missing is bikinis. I know I always complain whenever AKB48 wears them as nothing more than fanservice. But this PV actually feels like it needs random bikini shots. It’s a summer themed PV afterall, it seems kind of empty without it. Overall this PV is actually really well made. It looks like it cost a fairly decent amount to make. It’s a big step up from their first PV. It also kind of looks like the PV was filmed in Hawaii. But I didn’t really hear anything about that, so I’m going to assume it was just filmed in Okinawa or something. I enjoyed the PV from start to finish. There was always something different going on in each theme. There was a ton of variety to keep me engaged the whole way through. But AKB48 does have the resources to make awesome PVs.
Literally the first thing I thought when I saw this was, “why are they pouring salt into that bowl?” Obviously I then realzied I’m an idiot and it’s shaved ice. Whatever, we don’t really eat shaved ice that much in the US.
Of course no beach themed PV would be complete without running in slow motion.
I wonder if these are real fans or just random extras? Wham had members of their fanclub in their wake me up before you go-go video, so why not Not Yet? XD
Yuko and Rino look the cutest here.
More random slow motion. But this time it caught them at their worst. Lol.
Am I really making a cap to show that I like the credits? You bet I am! XD
Yuko’s a cutie.
Rino manages to grab my attention from the background. *O*
You can clearly see the person they were serving. However, this angle still makes me feel like it supposed to show them serving me.
I find it hard focusing on anyone in this PV who isn’t Rino. She looks the best in this PV. Yuko’s a close second.
It’s a little unfair that only Yuko gets to surf.
I don’t get why Yui is bieng pushed so much. She falls a little flat to me.
This is just so random.
Rino looks really pretty with this hair.
Cute. But Rie looks like a fish to me. XD
That’s actually really cool that their wristbands say Not Yet.
AKB48 sub-group, Watarirouka Hashiritai announced that they will be releasing their 8th single. The single is currently untitled but is set to be released August 3rd. And this single will also include Watarirouka Hashiritai 7’s song Mama Grazie as one of its B-sides.
Even though there’s nothing know about this single, beyond Mayu saying it will give you energy, I am still really excited for this release. Watarirouka Hashiritai is my favorite AKB48 sub-group. And I’m always excited to see what kind of songs they will released. I absolutely loved Valentine Kiss, even if it was a cover. This group hardly ever dissapoints me. Even though 2 of their singles were duds in my opinion, they always have good B-sides.

The concert rip for S/mileage’s upcoming 6th single Uchouten Love, has been out for a few days now. And I really wanted to wait until the radio rip came out before I commented on the song. But since the single is coming out August 3rd we probably won’t hear the radio rip for another month.
Aother reason I wanted to wait is because concert rips are usually really bad quality, or they distort the actual music too much. However, the concert rip for this song is actually not that bad. It’s a lot clearer than other rips I have heard before. So, we get to hear the song at probably about 80% or 90% accuracy. I really like what I hear of the song so far. The music has a very techno, eurobeat sound to it. It reminds me a bit of their major debut single Yume Miru 15sai. Which is always a good thing because that is one of my favorite songs by S/mileage. The song and music is also a little reminiscent to something that Hinoi Team would have released. And I’ve expressed my love for them more than once in my blog. The song is also a big step away from their last single that was childish and super cutesey. The song is a little more mature sounding while still holding the upbeat, fun, and playful image that S/mileage has. The song is pretty different than anything S/mileage has done before. But that’s what I love about S/mileage. None of their singles sound exactly the same, and you never really know what kind of song you are going to get from them. The song also has pretty fair line distribution, which is always a plus. But S/mileage is always fair line wise. But who knows if that will continue to happen after this single. Maybe the new member(s) will grab the other members lines.

With a little less than a month until the release date, Not Yet has released the radio rip for their upcoming 2nd single Naminori Kakigori. I don’t really understand why they are relasing te radio rip so early. I actually don’t really remember or pay that close attention to when radio rips are usually released. But in does seem to be obnoxiously early.
I actually like the song. It’s exactly what it promised it would be, upbeat and summery. This song is a tiny bit slower than Shuumatsu Not Yet, but hardly at all. The only real complaint I have about the song is that the singing doesn’t pick up during the chorus. I can’t stand when songs are sung in the same melody the entire song. But besides that the song sounds good. The line distribution seems fair, and the song is incredibly catchy. But my favorite part of the song is toward the end when they start singing really slow. It only lasts for a couple of seconds but I love when songs do that.
I absolutely love the the theme that Not Yet seems to be going for. Just really upbeat, happy, and danceable music. They have only released 2 singles, but they are really starting to become one of my favorite AKB48 sub-groups.
The audio for this video is extremely low. I had to turn my headphones up to 54 just to hear the song at a normal level.
A morning show has just released a PV preview for Hey! Say! JUMP’s upcoming new single Over. The preview is extremely brief, at only 30 seconds long. And because of that there’s probably a lot more to the PV than we are seeing. At least I hope there is.
At first watch, the PV looks completely simple and boring. Most of the PV preview shows the dance scene. The dance scene takes place outside, which I’m pretty happy about. Single there last PV was completely CG, it’s nice to see them in a real setting. It shows HSJ dancing on mirrored floor in front of 4 obelisk looking statues. Which makes no sense and is a little WTF worthy, since the song has absolutely nothing to do with Egypt. Also, I hate how the dance itself is set up. I can’t stand that my beloved Yuto is shoved in the back. Yeah, he’s actaully smack dab in the middle of the dance, but he’s still in the second to last row. Which I do not like at all. I mean, I actually confused him with Keito fro a second. That’s how bad his placement is. While I’m talking about the dances I have to say, I really love the outfits they are wearing. Since they are pretty much just regular clothes. But this is Johnny’s, you never know what hideous outfit they might be wearing in their PV. Just like the hideous dance outfits from their last PV for Arigatou ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~. Toward the end of the PV they also show the members on the phone. Which was obviously going to happen in the PV, because of the lyrics. But I actually thought that that was going to be the main part of the PV. It still very well could because the PV preview shows the PV from the chrous, not the beginning. But I don’t like how they are doing the phone scenes. They look happy and are passing the phone around. Which is a little harsh considering it’s supposed to be about ending things. Or at least the verse of the song is. The chorus is about staying together, which makes no sense. But I’m done with trying to figure out the lyrics. XD
After releasing another PV preview 2 days ago, no3b has finally released the full PV to Kuchibiru Furezu.
The PV seems to be exactly like the preview have shown. The girls of no3b are a pack of criminals that go on a crime spree. But their criminal acts are actually more inconvenient than menacing. They go to some sort of resturant and instead of robbing it they just walk on top of the tables, and flip a few plates over, and look for things under the table. They also go to some office building and just ransack it. Throwing papers around and searching through files. They only time they actually commit a crime higher than breaking and entering or malicious destruction of property is when they steal the car and break the door off. Which is actually pretty cool. But I think it’s kind of lame that the only reason they do any of this is to find their gold microphone stands. But whatever. I guess they needed some way to tie in them singing the whole time. Throughout the PV they also of course they are do a few things that are pretty cliché for criminals. Because apparently all criminals wear leather gloves, play poker, and wear sunglasses. Oh, I wouldn’t want to mess with them. XD All of the joking aside, I do find this PV to be pretty enjoyable. The girls look absolutely gorgeous and sexy in their wannabe criminals attire. And I do like the whole breaking the law and tough image that the PV has. Even if at times it is overly dramatic and kind of phoned in. I still think it’s a cool theme and makes for an interesting PV.
Takamina look gorgeous in this PV.
Oh man, it looks that she’s wearing Patricia Field’s fingertip gloves. Yes, I’m a loser who follows fashion and trends. XD
Don’t switch the blade on the guy girl in shades. Somewhere Corey Hart is rejoicing.
I just cannot get over how good Minami looks.
No matter what Haruna, only looks adorable to me.
However, Mii-chan looks pretty tough.
See, she just looks pretty here. I guess she didn’t get the memo to look tough/sexy.
