Ever since Morning Musume’s new single was announced I’ve been waiting for Morning Musume to perform it on music shows. I even personally wrote to Music Japan. So, you can imagine how beyond excited I am that they finally performed Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game live. They were on Happy music November 26th, and they were just on Music Japan November 28th.
I actually planned on making each performance a separate post, but I haven’t been able to find either performances on youtube until now. So, duel post it is.
I thought the performance from Happy Music was really great. Everyone sounded amazing, especially A-chan. She hits her high notes perfectly, but when does she not. But for some reason the entire time I was watching this I was drawn to Risa, even though she only has 1 line. She just looks really fierce with that hair. This is like the first time I ever though Risa looked good with short hair. The only real complaint I have about the performance is that it’s only half the song.
Maybe I’m a perv, but does anyone else notice that when they bend like that you can see their under shorts. The dresses could be just a little longer. XD
Risa looks gorgeous.
Look at LinLin in the background looking all hot.
The performance from Music Japan is pretty much the same. Except Music Japan’s stage is way nicer and Reina sounds a little weird. I don’t know, all of her lines it seems like she’s out of breathe. Which is weird because she killed it on Happy Music.
With just 2 days until the official release date of Morning Musume’s 11th album, Fantasy Juuichi, they’ve just released a new preview. This time it’s Onna Gokoro to Nanto Yara, which is probably going to be there last song preview before the release date.
After listening to it for a few times, this song is probably my least favorite preview they have released. The music is too slow and simple. And it reminds me a little bit of C-ute’s Everyday Yeah Kataomoi. I’m just not into the song. Even the way it’s being sung, it sounds like there’s no emotion behind it. And it makes the overall song sound a bit flat. And because someone in H!P must have had a brain hemorrhage, the line distribution still sucks. The solos go to Risa, Eri, and Ai-chan. And if I listen hard enough I can kinda hear Aika. But as always, I’ll just have to wait for the full song to be released in 2 days.
It seems like nearly every one in the Johnny’s fandom wants one thing, and that’s the debut of Kis-My-Ft2. Ok, maybe not all Johnny’s fans but I’ve heard quite a few that want this. I’m not even a fan of them and I’m starting to get frustrated about the whole situation.
(By the way, I am not an expert on this, so don’t treat me as one. I don’t even pay attention to Johnny’s Juniors at all. But JE fans don’t get too offended by that. I don’t follow Hello!Project Eggs or AKB48 Research Students either. I never have, and I never will.)
It seems every time Kis-My-Ft2 do anything, 4,000 fans are getting excited. I can’t count how many times I’ve heard people say, “any day now they are going to announce their debut.” And with good reason really. Kisumai has held their own solo concerts, they were in their own stage play, starred in their own CM a few months back, and it was just announced 2 Kisumai members, Fujigaya Taisuke and Kitayama Hiromitsu , will be in the drama Misaki No. 1. Kis-My-Ft2 is completely following the footsteps of KAT-TUN. KAT-TUN held tons of concerts and stage plays before their official debut. KAT-TUN was formed in 2001 but didn’t officially debut until 2006, that’s 5 years. Kis-My-Ft2 was formed 5 years ago in 2005, it kinda seems like it’s time for them to debut. And I honestly don’t see what Johnny is waiting for. It really seems like he’s tiptoeing around the whole situation. Obviously they had enough of a following to hold solo concerts, they have enough of a following to debut. I really want JE to have any kind of debut, because this will be my first debut as a fan. I became a fan a year after Hey! Say! JUMP’s debut. And Nayama Yuma w/ BI SHADOW and NYC don’t really count. Well actually NYC is pretty much a legit group now, but whatever it’s not the same.
I don’t really follow Kisumai but maybe they do/will have some good songs. I just wish Johnny would anounce something already. Either that or break them up, because honestly they are being wasted. He already wasted Yamashita Shoon. It would be sad to do it again.
On today’s episode of YY Jumping their was a performance of Hey! Say! JUMP’s new single, “Arigatou” ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~. What makes this performance special is, not only are they performing it for the first time, but it’s Hey! Say! BEST and not just Hikaru and Yabu.
I’m dissapointed by how simple the dance is.
But let’s not forget what’s really important. Yabu still hasn’t dyed his hair, and still has his sexy dark brown hair. 😀
I love the background, with images from around the world. Statue of Liberty FTW! XD
WTF. All the foreign thank yous are written in red and katakana, except the English one. I know it’s only written in English because Japanese people are the most familiar with it, but still. They could have wrote it in katakana too.
I guess this is supposed to be grazie? It doesn’t sound like it. XD
I knew there had to be some sort of bowing move.
I wonder if Hikaru is the one saying this in the single version. I sounds like it could be.
Oh man look, it’s Casey Anderson right next to Hikaru.
It’s the first performance ad I’m still really not feeling the song. It’s still just mediocre for me. But that’s ok, I don’t have to absolutely love everyone of their songs. Also, I hope this single follows the pervious JE releases. About a week-a week 1/2 before the PV previews came out their new single was performed somewhere on TV. So, let’s hope this means we’ll get the PV preview soon.
Since uploading her own dance videos on C-ute’s official Youtube channel, C-ute member Okai Chisato is releasing her first digital single, LOVE Namida Iro, on iTunes. Which is more commonly know as Matuura Aya’s 3rd single. It seems like she’s finally getting noticed by H!P and UFA.
This has been a good couple of months for one of H!P’s favorite underdogs. She’s releasing her first photobook and DVD, and now she’s releasing her first digital single. Digital single or not, this is the first solo single by any C-ute member. Even though she’s one of my least favorite H!P members I am extremely happy for her. She’s always shoved in the back, so I’m glad she’s getting a little bit of attention. Even if it is only for a brief moment. I also always did like her voice. It was unique and probably one of the deepest in H!P currently. I think Chisa picked the absolute perfect song as her solo song. She has basically the same pitch and tone as Ayaya. When I listened to Chisato singing it for a split second I thought it was Ayaya. So Chisa did an amazing job.
Here’s Chisato singing and dancing to LOVE Namida Iro.
I’m sorry that this is so late guys. I’ve just been really busy helping my family get ready for Thanksgiving. But since Thanksgiving is officially over, and I’m stuffed full of turkey, I can blog 100% again. Anyway, I should probably talk about the topic at hand.
With the release of Morning Musume’s 11th album, Fantasy! Juuichi, just 5 days away Momusu released yet another radio rip. This time the song is entitled 1 Kara 10 Made Aishite Hoshii.
I actually really like the music of this song. It’s got a real 1970’s feel. It sounds like a mix between disco music and funk music. And I do like that this song is mainly sung as a group. I think it gives it a really cute and endearing quality. However, I really hate that the only members we hear with a solo are Ai and Reina. So far 3 songs have been previewed. I certainty hope either these previews have just been to short to hear LinLin and JunJun or the remaining 6 songs we have yet to hear are full of LinLin and JunJun.
Hey! Say JUMP’s new single, “Arigato” ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~, is being released in a little over 3 weeks but we already have a full preview of the song. But let me say how utterly surprising that they are releasing another single. After they released an album and a concert DVD, I was pretty much sure that would be it for JUMP this year. So, I am super excited that we are getting something new from them. At first listen I am surprised at hoe different this sounds compared to everything HSJ usually releases. This song has an extremely heavy electronic beat. And it honestly reminds me of a little of Adam Lambert’s For Your Entertainment. But JUMP’s song is a lot slower. As of right now I’m not really feeling the song. I mean it’s not horrible, but it’s not extremely catchy either. I don’t know, nothing about the song really stands out.
Also I know HSJ said thank you in like 12 languages but and I caught every single one except obrigado and grazie. I think I also when I heard merci beaucoup it sounded like they only said merci beau and forgot the coup.
Though, I am extremely happy that it sounds like every single member has at least one solo line. But I am not sure if Keito and Ryutaro do, I can’t really tell their voices apart that well. Mostly because they never sing. I also really want to know how says we are JUMP, because it doesn’t sound like Ryosuke.
With Fantasy! Juuichi’s release date right around the corner Morning Musume previews another song from the album. This time it’s Fantasy ga hajimaru, but the preview is only 1:40. Which means there’s obviously no way it’s the full song. At first listen I am absolutely in love with the whole night club type of music is has. It another club sounding song like Berryz’s Dakishimete Dakishimete and Momusu’s SONGS. But it actually sounds a lot like DEF.DIVA’S Suki Sugite Baka Mitai. While I do like the overall sound of the song I am completely disappointed by it at the same time. The song is basically a Sayumi solo song, she sings pretty much the entire time during this preview. Except for the short Reina solo part And Ai’s solo part at the very end. And it sounds like Ai and Eri also have one line solos during the verse, but with their voices being practically autotuned I can’t tell if it’s them or still Sayumi. I guess Sayumi’s It’s You solo from Platinum 9 Disc wasn’t enough, she needs another practically solo song. I mean she is graduating after all. Oh wait, that’s LinLin and JunJun. I don’t understand why I bother complaining anymore. I’m obviously not to get my dream Ai and LinLin duet, Risa and JunJun duet, and JunJun solo song. I also have to get used to Sayumi getting more and more solo lines since she’ll be one of the oldest members in the group once Eri, LinLin, and JunJun graduate. I’m actually more excited for Aika to get more lines because she’ll be a senpai to the new members. But I’m just ranting now.
S/mileage will be releasing their first album, Warugakii 1, it in almost 3 weeks. And of course that means we have a radio preview of one of the new songs, Odorou yo. Now it is basically a glorified singles collection, but we do get a few new songs. And should be happy about that. At least it means they have a clean slate for album 2.
The song reminds me of cuter version of Summer Reggae! Rainbow. And of course the song is along the sugary sweet, adorable music S/mileage has been releasing since the first formed. And has the always even S/mileage line distribution to match. But it would be a little hard to make S/mileage unfair since they only have 4 members. XD Some of the parts of the song are really great. I love the echo effects on the members solo lines. It kinda sounds like an owl hooting but it’s cute. I also really love the “Taisetsu na yoru no KYANDORU. Kinenbi wasurete bu bu bu bu. Soredemo onna no kotowaru. Kako ni shitsugi ni kanseru.” part. (By the way, I romanized this by ear, so I have no idea if it’s 100% right. It sounds pretty right to me though. XD)
Morning Musume’s 11th album Fantasy! Juuichi is being released in less then 2 weeks. And to promote Morning Musume was a guest on FM-Fuji radio show, so now we have a preview of the song Itoshiku kurushii kono yoru ni.
The song is a slow sung song, but it still has heavy background music. Which is great for me because I hate slow songs. But as long as the background music isn’t soft, I don’t mind songs that are sung slow. I absolutely love the overall sound of this song. It’s soft and elegant, and upbeat at the same time. And Eri sounds incredible on her solo lines. I mean just really great. It really hurts to lose a voice as strong as hers. The only actual fault I have with this song is, it’s only sung by Eri, Reina, and Ai. I mean call me crazy, but I though this was Eri, LinLin, and JunJuns’ farewell album. Not just another excuse for Ai and Reina to line hog. I do realize that this is the first preview of the album, and I should be patient. But I cannot stand that JunJun and LinLin are getting shafted yet again! They’re all graduating but you can honestly only tell Eri is. I mean she’s getting a new solo photobook, and one with the 6th gen, and she’s leading this song. It’s as if LinJun never existed. I know they aren’t that popular, but they get nothing? Nothing at all! Where’s the 8th gen photobook? Eri has had like 7 photobooks, LinLin and JunJun don’t have any and will never get one now! Sometimes I cannot stand H!P.
With less than a month until the release date of AKB48’s 19th single, Chance no Junban, morning news shows are starting to preview the PV.
The PV is significantly toned down compared to the weirdness of Beginner, and the heavy fanserice of Heavy Rotation and Ponytail to Shuuhu. The PV is also a lot simpler than I was expecting. A majority of the PV is focusing on the dance scenes, mixed with close-ups. Which is a completely boring formula. The PV also features the Janken competition, and shows Uchida Mayumi’s nerves beforehand. So, it looks like the PV will focus on Mayumi’s road to becoming the center girl of this single/PV. I can’t say it’s a theme I am extremely excited over, but I’m sure Mayumi was thrilled about it. To only be a Theater Girl and then thrown into the center is quite a feat. But I have to say the scenes with her riding the horse are completely random and stupid. But at least it’s a real horse. Not the fake stuffed horses from S/mileage’s Asu wa Date na no ni, Imasugu Koe ga Kikitai.
The PV for KAT-TUN’s new single, Change UR World, was just released. Oh, I’m sorry it wasn’t just released. The PV was actually released a couple of days ago, but for some reason KAT-TUN fans would not let the PV be uploaded in HQ. Hell, they didn’t even want it posted in LQ. I couldn’t even download the PV! Every video that was posted on youtube had pages of Japanese, and international, KAT-TUN fans crying over the video being posted. Saying things like the “Please delete the video, it’s being released on November 17th wait until then,” or “If you share this stuff Johnny won’t release it early in the future.”
I would just like to know, what in the world is wrong with KAT-TUN fans? Why are they so anti uploading. When Arashi’s and NEWS’s new PVs were released they were upload in HD quality the date the videos aired in Japan. So, are they horrible fans? Are they breaking some sort of unofficial Johnny’s rule? Absolutely not. And I did I hear once any fan saying to take down a video or delete a link, until the single was released? Of, course not! So, why are KAT-TUN fans doing this? Don’t they realize that the only people that are getting jipped are the foreign fans? PVs air in Japan days before the release date. And all the Japanese KAT-TUN fan can simply turn on their TVs and watch the new PV when it airs. I don’t see them covering their eyes and ears until the release date. And why’s that? Because it would be absolutely stupid to do so. That would defeat the entire purpose of a PV. They are PVs, promotional videos! What promotion are they getting if you’re not allowed to watch them until the release date? Anyway, that’s about enough angry fangirl ranting. Time to talk about the actual PV.
I actually think the PV is pretty cool, there’s a lot going on. There are 3 different dance scenes, close-ups, breaking through the wall, and whatever is up with that random kid watching them throughout the PV. Even though I do think the PV is pretty cool, I was expecting something a little more. It’s a little reminiscent of No More Pain and Rescue. Just because the entire PV is very dark. Sometime it’s so dark, it’s annoying though.
I don’t get what random kid, or his magical box have to do with KAT-TUN.
Apparently it was Pandora’s Box because he was magically transported to where KAT-TUN is.
However, Kame is much better looking than Pinhead.
God, Kame looks good.
WTF is up with Taguchi’s hair?
I love Koki. Even if he’s making stupid face here.
Kame breaking through anything is hilarious. He’s too much of a pretty boy.
They’re the kings of the world! XD
I know it’s all CG, but that’s beautiful.
I’m sorry but Taguchi looks stupid. He was probably going for old school 1950’s hair, but it’s juts bad.
Koki looks great.
I always knew Maru was Bruce Wayne.
No, just no.
I know he most likely said you can test (trust?) your world, but to me it sounded like you can dust your world.
So why exactly is Koki chained up? Not that I mind. XD
That’s right 4 idol groups were releasing on the same day: AAA, Morning Musume, KAT-TUN, and SKE48. It was inevitable that one would triumph over the rest. But the coveted title went to, of course, KAT-TUN.
From the very first day SKE48 fans and Morning Musume fans only worried about beating each other. A lot of fans seemingly forgot that KAT-TUN was releasing on the 17th as well. And of course after it was announced that KAT-TUN was releasing on the same day, there was no way either idol group stood a chance. The Oricon Daily Chart goes as follows:
1. KAT-TUN – Change UR World 2. SKE48 – 1! 2! 3! 4! Yoroshiku! 3. Kobukuro – Ryuusei 4. AAA – PARADISE/Endless Fighters 5. Morning Musume – Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game
Yes, SKE8 did beat Morning Musume by 3 spots. So I guess in a sense they did win. But none of that even remotely matters. They both lost to KAT-TUN, so basically it’s as if they both ranked at 24. Even if SKE48 did beat KAT-TUN, it wouldn’t really matter anyway. It would only matter to the anti H!P 48 groups fans, who would use this as a way of saying their idol agency is better. Which is petty and meaningless. I just think it’s funny that all this ruckus was made that SKE8 would beat Morning Musume, but they both lost.
The Kura Sushi official website posted original PVs for Muten Musume’s Appare Kaiten Zushi single. The PVs are extremely short, one is 19 seconds version and the other is 39 seconds version. I think it’s pretty apparent that we most likely will not getting a full PV from this song. When the release date came and went it was apparent. It seems like these “PVs” were made merely as a small promotion for their chain alone, and absolutely nothing to do with the single itself.
The videos themselves are extremely simple. All it does is show Morning Musume’s anime versions flying around sushi. Which is completely not what I was expecting at all. I am a little sad that this is the extent of the PV for this song. But fans should be happy we got anything at all.
Since I am unable to make my review post about KAT-TUN’s new PV for Change UR World, I thought I’d make a post about their Heyx3 performance. Since, you’re probably dying to know why I can’t make my review post, I’ll tell you why. Let’s just say KAT-TUN fans are a little intense. I’ll just leave it at that. Because when I can make my review post, I have to make a mini rant about it. :] The performance was pretty much like every other performance. They came, they sang, and they were hot. I actually thought this performance was better than the Shounen Club one. They just sound better. And everyone looks better. But I liked Koki’s outfit from Shounen Club better. :/ I think I’m making too many posts about Change UR World, but I can’t help it. I love this song!
I love Ueda’s jacket.
This looks just like the dance move from Arashi’s Monster.
Of course Kame looks hot.
I love how during everyone’s solo lines I’m only looking at Koki.
Look, Koki has a random patch of blonde hair. XD
I love how Koki is smiling through hi whole rap part. Probably because his solo is pretty long, and it doesn’t get cut off midway because they only have 2:30 minutes.
Kame always nails this part.
Here’s the video. You should watch it quickly. It will most likely be gone by tomorrow.
With less than a month until the release date a radio preview for AKB48’s 19th single, Chance no Junban is out.
I usually have a love hate relationship with AKB48 singles. Or I should say it takes me a while to like a majority of AKB48’s singles. Their are hardly any songs I like instantly. But after a couple of weeks I’m usually in love with the song. Like Beginner for example. I hated the song when I first heard it because it was too heavy and not cutesy enough. But now I am in love with the song. Mostly because I read a translation of the lyrics and they are great. Or Oogoe Diamond as another example. I heard Oogoe Diamond for the first time and was annoyed by the music. It took me a couple of months before I actually started to love the song. And know it’s one of my favorite singles.
I’m sure you’re wondering what all of that has to do with Chance to Junban. But I’m getting to that! XD I wanted to merely show by basis of how I judge AKB48 songs, and how critical I am of their songs even if they are great. Mostly because I am instantly in love with Chance no Junban. That’s right instantly in love. I love how the song is all sparkly, upbeat, and adorable. This is pretty much how I like all my idols to sounds. Of course their are some exceptions like the lyrics and if the different sound is a good thing. I am actually pleasantly by how good the song is. In all honestly, I didn’t expect to like this song. I don’t even know why, I just didn’t. And now I am actually looking forward to the PV. Let’s hope it’s better than Beginner, and less fanservicy as Heavy Rotation.
On another note, personally, I am extremely sad that me beloved Mayu isn’t part of the A-side. However, I am excited that girls I have never heard of will be featured in this single’s A-side. (Since, I only care about the A-side. I’m not a big enough AKB48 fan, yet, to care about Under Girls and Theater Girls. So, sue me!) It will help a lot for me to remember their names, and have them burned into my memory once and for all. Since I only know a handful of girls featured in Chance no Junban. (If you at all care here are the girls I know of: Kojima Haruna, Nakagawa Haruka, Maeda Ami, Takajo Aik, Kuramochi Asuka, Kasai Tomomi, and Maeda Atsuko. Which is less than half. XD)
Sorry about the long post. Here’s what you came for, the preview.
SUPER GIRLS released their debut PV, Miracle ga Tommanai, through their USTREAM account. Since this song isn’t a single, and is coming straight off their debut album Chouzetsu Shoujou, I wonder if this means some other songs will get PVs too? I would love for that to happen, but honestly I doubt it will.
A lot of people were expecting another completely unique idol group. Since Avex usually makes out of the ordinary idol groups like Hinoi Team and AAA. But honestly I am really excited to another SweetS type idol group from Avex. The song and PV are pretty much carbon copies of every other idol group that’s out there. Which is completely expected. It’s hard to make an idol group now a days, that’s actually original. The PV is pretty simple, almost boring. But since it’s their first PV you have to cut them some slack.
I absolutely love the outfits.
This chick looks like a mix between Ariyasu Momoka and Watanabe Mayu. And I hate the super low quality. XD
Well, she’s cute.
Wow, this girl is the prettiest.
Look, it’s Tsuji Nozomi mixed with Tanaka Reina.
Oh man, she has a cute voice to match.
She totally looks like Hayami Akari mixed with Akimoto Sayaka.
The random hearts reminds me of Ice Creamusume’s debut PV, but I’m too lazy to go make a cap. XD
Haato! She has Arihara Kanan ears, except more intense.
I really need to stop making caps of this girl. But she’s just so pretty.
Oh man, it’s just like Perfume’s Baby Cruising Love. Too lazy to make a cap of that too. XD
The PV for C-ute’s 14th single, Aitai Lonely Christmas, has just been released. Well, not just. But this is certainty the first time I’m watching it.
Some people could argue that this PV is boring. And I can understand why they would think that. I mean it basically is H!P’s go to formula. Except since it’s a slow song there’s not even a dance this time. But honestly, I absolutely love the PV. I love that it’s simple and elegant, without being overly simple. I also love the PV because it’s exactly how I expected it to be. So I pretty much couldn’t have asked for a better PV. It’s Oujisama to Yuki no Yoru meets Shiroi Tokyo. (Which I think I might have mentioned 3 times now. XD)
How cheap, that’s obviously a dollhouse.
Airi is the only one who actually looks lonely.
This angle is really awesome.
Chisa looks super pretty.
And so does Mai.
This PV is so much like
Oujisama to Yuki no Yoru.
These closeups reminds me of
Hmm this looks familiar somehow.
Of course it does!
I love these scenes.
There are so many angles/scenes in this PV, it’s no where near being boring.
Airi looks adorable in that hat.
I’m such an idiot, I didn’t even realzie they were sitting in a sleigh the whole time.
I wish I knew what this said. Because this, あいたい, is aitai.
KAT-TUN preformed Change UR World on today’s episode of Shounen Club. (Well it’s technically yesterday for the rest of the world. But not here. XD) And the only thing I can say about the performance is OMG Koki looks amazing. I was a little hesitant of Koki’s new hair because it makes him look like a mix between Penn Badgley and Oliver Twist. But I’m so over that. And I am officially in love with it now, and I hope he never changes it. XD Koki just keeps getting hotter and hotter. ;]
By the way, this clip/these caps are in low quality. I wanted to wait until a high quality was available to make this post, but I bet by the time one is available with my luck the PV will be out. And then this post will be pointless. So yeah I took my caps straight from the tudou video because there was no way I was going to actually download a LQ video. XD
Whenever I watch Japanese songs live I’m always surprised with the amount of English I never notice they are singing.
I love how all the fangirls screamed for Koki.
I bet this whole random hair flipping part would be sexy in HQ.
I had absolutely no idea this is what he was saying.
To the person I was talking to through comments about the song, it was Kame singing the Change UR World part at the end. So glad to finally know 100%. XD
Look at that sex hot outfit Koki is wearing.
How can anyone not love his new hair. I’m also really happy that Koki talked the most, since he’s the most entertaining member.
It seems controversy has struck the girls of Momoiro Clover. Since the release of the PV for their C-side Kimi to Sekai off their new single Pinky Jones, a lot of fans wonder if the PV itself is too sexy.
Let’s start off by showing the root of the controversy, the PV.
The PV shows the girls wearing sexy, skin tight biker outfits sitting on top of motorcycles.
However, one of the main problems most of the fans and non fans seem to have is with how heavy their makeup is.
Saying the girls are too young to wear such thick makeup. Personally to me the makeup seems to fulfill some wota’s Brooke Shields in Pretty Baby fantasy.
And of course the absolute main problem people have with the PV is the ice cream.
Of course people are outraged because the girl’s are too young and the PV consists of them doing nothing but eating ice cream.
That and the ridiculous amount of sexual innuendos.
It obviously means she’s just a messy eater.
Clearly this is only to show she’s eating a drumstick.
So the obvious question is then: has Momoiro Clover done something wrong, and have they gone too far? And my answer to that is absloutely not. Now I know what you’re all thinking. And I’m sure many people reading this are scratching their heads and have come to screeching halt. But hear me out. Do I think this PV is too sexual? Yes, for my taste of course. Should they set this PV on fire and never dare to do this kind of thing again? No, no, and a hundred times no. Whenever I see contoversy among fans like this, it feels like I’m the only person who knows they are watching a female idol group and not a Church choir.
But I should probably start from the very begining. I first started to listen to Momoiro Clover because a big fuss was being made about them. But after listening I fell in love with them. They were sugary sweet and had a unique kimono theme going on. Since fans have gotten so used to that from MomoClo of course it’s quite a shock when you’re thrown a curve ball like the Kimi to Sekai PV. But like all the contoversy about sexy idol PVs the people who seem to have the problem are the foreign fans. I have yet to hear Japanese fans, once complain that a PV is too sexy or has too much fan service. And you know what? They never will! Heck, AKB48 had more of a contoversy with the Beginner PV because it had too much gore. Yet, absolutely nothing was said about the Heavy Rotation PV. Only the foreign fans complained. I guess most of it stems from some foreign fans not fully understanding that’s what female, and sometimes male, idols do. And probably always will do. And stuff like this is what wota expect. They would probably get bored of a group if they weren’t thrown some sort of fanservice every now and then.
As always the main factor is age. Momoiro Clovers’ age range is from 14-17. However, in idol years that’s pretty much the age to do these kinds of things. Not to mention a lot of idols were doing fanservice when they were younger then MomoClo are.
Here are some examples:
Let’s look at Massara Blue Jeans famous Love me Love me Love me dance parts.
When this single was released C-ute was 10-15. Don’t you think 10 year old Mai Mai was a little young to do such a suggestive dance move?
What about AKB48’s Baby! Baby! Baby! PV?
When this single was released AKB48 was 14-21. Don’t you think Mayuyu at 14 was too young to be running around in a bikini?
What about Sugaya Risako’s 1st photobook Risako?
Sugaya Risako released her first photobook at just 12 years old. Isn’t it a little too sexy for a 12 year old?
The list could go on and on with photobooks alone. Fans need to take all of this into consideration, and remember that this is what female idols do. Do I condone all of it, not always no. As a straight girl I hardly let fanservice phase me. And everyone out there needs to realize if they have a problem with fanservice it’s probably because it’s not meant for them. Yes, I know actual fans, or even wota, may complain about fanservice. I heard one AKB48 fan complain that Heavy Rotation was too much fanservice at once. Which is hilarious, because on the other side I’m sure fans complain when there isn’t enough. I guess my main point in all of this is that people shouldn’t be so outraged over fanservice. It’s basically like going wine tasting and then flipping out that they are serving cheese with it. It goes hand and hand, and to complain about it is ridiculous. As for them being too young, you should realize that Japanese men are obssesed with youth. Hence why idols start out so young and stop when they are “too old” at about 24. It’s why lolita fashion exists. And why older Japanese women try to act as cute and youthful as possible. So, if you have a problem with it go to Japan and change the society there. Or until then I suggest you get some other interests, maybe you should try male idols. Their fanservice is less frequent and less intense. (Which is ridiculous if you ask me. I’d chop my own leg off to see Yamapi and Ryo-chan kiss. ;]) Fanservice will exist for as long as their are wota willing to pay for it.
Also, until female idols fanservice gets anywhere near Jrock’s you can’t really complain.
And finally here’s the PV for Kimi to Sekai in case you want to watch it.
The PV for Morning Musume’s 44th single, Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game, has finally been released in high quality! It’s been floating around the internet for nearly a week in low quality. But I refused to even watch the PV, let alone do a review of it, until it was in high quality. Do you know how extremely difficult that was?
I am just super impressed with this single. To me it hardly has any flaws. The A-side is amazing, the B-side Aisaresugiru Koto wa nai no yo is so strong it could have been an A-side, and the PV is amazing. This single is the best single Morning Musume has released in a while. I could definitely see this song making it to number one on the Oricon charts. However, that will be the hardest feat ever. Apparently, November 17th must be official idol day because there is 4 different idol groups releasing their single on that day. Morning Musume, SKE48, KAT-TUN, and AAA. It’s pretty obvious Morning Musume isn’t going to top the charts.
That aside, I still think the PV is great. The only real fault of the PV are the horrendous dancing outfits they wear, but I just pretend they don’t exist. The girls look absolutely gorgeous in the princess dresses. And I am completely thrilled to see Morning Musume to finally release a PV that is more than just dance scenes and close ups. But all of this is of course bitter sweet. It’s still incredibly difficult to know that this is Eri, JunJun, and LinLins’ last single/PV.
I hate how simple this dance floor is. Call me crazy, but do you know what irks me the most about these dresses? Everyone is wearing their group color, except Ai-chan and LinLin. It just throws everything off!
Worst dance move ever!
Ok, this dance is just filled with horrible moves.
OMFG! It’s the Safety Dance!
The Safety Dance!
Ai-chan is so beautiful! The falling petal scenes are my favorite.
I was blown away by Reina. She’s hardly my favorite member, but she looks the absolute best.
Ai is so pretty, I could probably make an entire post just about her.
And you can act real rude and totally removed. And I can act like an imbecile. XD
This PV is the only time I actually love Risa’ short hair.
My god Reina looks incredible!
Of course Ai-chan does too.
This hair does nothing for my beloved Mittsi.
Sayumi looking as adorable as ever.
This is the best LinLin has ever looked.
Risa’s dress is hideous!
WTF kind of dance move is this?
Or this for that manner.
Gosh, everyone just looks gorgeous in this PV.
LinLin, just wow.
Aika has the worst dress.
It looks like they are walking through inflated trash bags, but at least it’s a different scene/background.
LinLin is so cute.
Eri looks amazing. But I really hate her dress. XD
A new CM for C-ute’s new single, Aitai Lonely Christmas, was released. As usual the CM is only roughly 30 seconds long, which is just long enough to get somewhat of a feel of the PV.
I have to say I am completely thrilled with what I’m seeing of the PV so far. I can’t believe it, but the PV is exactly what I envisioned of the PV, almost to a T. I wanted it to be a mix of Shiori Tokyo and Oujisama to Yuki no Yoru. And that’s exactly what the PV is like. So far all we see in the commercial is C-ute sitting out side in the snow, in their adorable winter outfits. And then they show them inside of a house looking really, well, lonely. I am really excited to see the PV. C-ute’s been dropping the ball lately with their songs and PVs, I am pleasantly surprised how both the song and PV are amazing.
With just for days until the release date of Arashi’s new single, Hatenai Sora, the PV is finally released. And honestly it’s about time. I think this is the longest we’ve had to wait for a Johnny’s PV. But don’t quote me on that, I don’t really keep a close track on when JE PVs come out.
I’ve already expressed in previous posts how much I absolutely love this song, and I do. I’m not so sure the same can be said about the PV. I mean I like it, it’s definitely better than Dear Snow. It’s a lot more dynamic and has a lot more different scenes. But there’s not really much going on in the PV. They are still just standing there and then just mixed with close ups. I mean where’s the amazing Arashi dance like in the Crazy Moon ~Kimi wa Muteki~ PV? Or the over the top crazyness and gay of the Kitto Daijoubu PV? I mean you don’t need an overly upbeat song, or even dnce, to have an interesting PV. Look at Troublemaker, One Love, Beautiful Days, Sakura Sake. Ok, Sakura Sake was upbeat but the PV was simple and still cool. Like I said before this basically just comes down to Arashi being spread too thin this year. But I decided to review the PV because I haven’t done a review in ages. Because of that I’m thinking of going back and doing Berryz’s Shining Power PV and maybe even Lilpri’s.
Everyone look sad and longing at the camera now.
Aiba’s is the best.
Ohno’s is the worst. His face is unchanged.
For some reason the backdroop reminds me of
the Believe PV.
However, this scene reminds me of
the Tayiou no Namida PV
Oh look, it’s Dear Snow again!
MatsuJun does look pretty cute though.
I gotta admit, the transparent scenes are pretty cool.
I don’t get what the whole dramatic standing up from a chair bit is all about.
God, Nino is so adorable!
Umm WTF, are Aiba’s teeth capped? They are starting to look like John Cleese’s. XD
If Nino is the only one to get a solo in the entire song, why do they keep following Aiba around?
Hot! I’m such a creep. XD
His face is too intense for such a slow song. I could see if he was holding a note or something, but he’s not.
Of course the backdrop opens to reveal a blue sky, that’s such an Arashi thing to do. XD
I love how he’s singing with a half smirk.
I love how Nino is the only one actually trying to dance here. Everyone else is just moving their arms because there’s no actual steps.
Be sure to watch this PV before Johnny’s takes it down.
I remember back in the day Daigo Stardust used to just be that one lucky guy that Miyavi kissed. Since then he’s changed to be Daigo the super sexy lead singer of BREAKERZ. And also an AKB48 fanboy. Here’s a clip of him singing Aitakatta by AKB48.
It seems Daigo has outdone himself this time. During their performance at the Halloween Party 2010 Daigo and his BREAKERZ band mates dressed up as AKB48. But according to them they were BRZ48. Which I think is incredibly hilarious and awesome. Ever since I saw that clip of him singing Aitakatta I always wondered who his favorite member was.
By the looks of his costume, I’m guessing he’s a huge Maeda Atsuko fan.
Which is lame, there are tons of way prettier AKB48 members, Mayu for instance.
KAT-TUN has released a PV preview for their upcoming new single, Change UR World. Change UR World is being released on November 17th. Seriously, November 17th? Well, I guess Morning Musume can kiss goodbye any chance of having Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game reach number one. It’s being released on the same day as Change UR World, KAT-TUN is going to blow them out of the water.
The PV does actually look really amazing. It looks very expensive, but that’s not a big surprise. KAT-TUN hardly ever makes cheap PVs. It’s another completely green screened PV, but that doesn’t bother me too much. I mean the falling off a building scenes alone are cool enough. And I have to absolutely laugh at Kame’s outfit. I mean leopard pants and a feather boa. He must be trying to beat Ueda to be the girliest (for some reason this isn’t a word XD) member of KAT-TUN. I think he’s winning in this PV. And WTF is going on with my beloved Koki’s hair? It makes him look like Penn Badgley. I haven’t decided if I like it yet or not. I don’t know, at some angles I’m kinda feeling it.
With a little over 2 weeks until the release of Morning Musume’s 44th single, Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game, they have finally released both the PV preview and radio rip. And overall I am extremely happy about this single.
Since we’ve already talked about the song when the concert rip came out I’m going to talk about the PV first. When I first saw the outfits from the PV. (The one at the top of this post) I thought I was going to absolutely hate the PV, because honestly I hate the dresses. They look like they were taken out of some fairytale, and the bubble skirt is no flattering at all. It’s puffy and makes their hips look wider. Just like the shirts from W’s Ai no Imi wo Oshiete Yo PV. But the PV redeems itself when they show the close ups of the girls in their elaborate ball gowns. All of the girls look absolutely incredibly gorgeous. I was blown away by that alone. The only real fault of the video is the dance. It’s way too simple and a little awkward looking. But that’s usually how Momusu dances go. Sometimes they’re really great and sometimes they really suck. I’ll be waiting until the full PV to make anymore comments about it.
Now for the song. I said when the concert rip came out how impressed and in love with the song I am. And that hasn’t changed one bit. The music is beautiful. And completely elaborate, and definitely tells a distinct story, basically through the music alone. I mean if they were a band, and their whole album was like this, people would probably call it a rock opera. I am so entranced with the song I actually don’t mind that the whole song is sung with Ai and Reina lead and Risa and Eri minor, just like all their other songs have been. Their voices sounds so smooth and perfect in this song, I actually welcome it. And what makes me the love the song even more is the lyrics. I don’t even know why. The lyrics are just about a man’s and women’s roles in relationships. And still a little undertone of sadness. But for some reason I just really love the lyrics. The whole single makes me think of extravagance. I love everything about this song. And once you couple it with the super incredible song like Aisaresugiru koto wa nai no yo, it makes for one of the best Morning Musume singles in a long time. Now this is a proper send off for Eri, JunJun, and LinLin. I mean I absolutely loved Kimagure Princess and Aishite Aishite Ato Ippun was a good song, but it just didn’t fit as a graduation single for Koha.
I also want to briefly mention AKB48. I know that this single will never sell half as much as Beginner, and honestly I don’t care about that. Beginner is an absolutely great song, and it’s extremely meaningful. However, honestly Beginner is at about the same par as this single. 100% on the same par. Yet it sold something like 660,000 copies. But in my opinion it didn’t really deserve to. AKB48 has turned out to be Arashi. Arashi’s songs sell like 600,000 copies even when they don’t deserve it because all of Japan has fallen in love with them. Their singles sell so well because of legions of fangirls/boys. It’s hardly about the music. AKB48 is doing the same thing. Their last 3 songs have sold so much because of blatant fanservice and strategically placed controversy, and in Beginner see through shirts. And nothing more. So AKB48 fans enjoy the love and being fans of the top female idol group in Japan, for now of course. AKB48 is only popular cause they are shiny and new. If you recall Morning Musume was on top for like 6 years. But like everything, they were eventually out down. And it’s just a matter of time before AKB48 is. So all of these AKB48 and H!P fandom wars are meaningless. I guess wota don’t realize that for female idol groups/agencies to really be on top they don’t have to beat Morning Musume or even AKB48, they have to defeat Johnny’s. And AKB48 getting the top song of 2010 is nothing. Nothing! JE has been around for 50 (40?) years, that trumps H!P’s 13 years and the AKB48’s 5. JE is basically an empire. So these whole AKB48 VS H!P debates/wars are completely pointless and hilarious.
I was just sitting here at my computer being extremely bored. So I thought “Hey, I have nothing better to do I might as well search for that illusive Junior again.” Now to anyone who has no idea what I’m talking about, I made a post a couple months back about a random Junior I saw every time I watched the School Kakumei live stage. I asked if anyone knew who he was because I thought he was hot and looked like some hot guy I know in real life. And of course no one commented and told me. If you really care you can read the post here.
Well apparently I finally found out who he is. And I honestly wish I didn’t. It turns out that this Junior is Casey Anderson.
I was beyond excited when I finally found out who he was. That is until I looked at his age. The Junior I’ve been obsessing over for months. (Well obsessing to find out his name. XD) And probably the only Junior I actually think is hot, is only 15. Fifteen years old! That makes me fell a little bit like a pedophile. I know I’m only 18 and probably shouldn’t feel like that, but I do. I mean, I feel weird for thinking Yuto and Ryosuke are hot. And they’re only a year younger than me. I never even look at Morimoto Ryutaro cause he’s only 15. Well actually Ryutaro is pretty ugly anyway, but still.
I think the absolute funniest part of this whole thing is in a comment to my illusive Junior post I said the Junior could be Casey Anderson since he’s the only foreign Junior I know of. I actually looked up Casey Anderson.
But I could only find this picture. And my exact reaction was that it could never be Casey that kid looks like he’s about 12. How ironic, right? I guess I’ll have to wait a few years to really fangirl over him. I’ll feel less creepy when he’s at least 17.
