I’m sure everyone is aware that one of my favorite ex-Hello!Project members, Arihara Kanna, announced on her blog several months ago about her first photobook and image DVD. But since it was pushed back devoted KanKan fans like myself had to wait a little bit longer. With only 10 days until the release of Kanna’s first photobook, Kanna, the wait is almost over.
And because it’s so close to the release date we finally have a preview of the cover.
I probably should have waited until a bigger picture was available, but I was too excited to wait. Even though I am extremely for the photobook itself, I am disappointed by the cover. The picture is very unfaltering. In the picture Kanna looks tired and washed out. But the plus side is, that after seeing I realized this is the first time we’re seeing Kanna in a bikini. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t think of another occasion she’s worn one. Which in itself, is pretty exciting.
Kanna was also featured in a magazine recently that previewed a few pictures from her photobook.
Now these pictures I both love and hate. Let’s start with the hate. I don’t really like the main picture of this shoot, the white bikini ones. It looks like she’s trying to look innocent, seductive, and beckoning at the same time. But Kanna must have been so uncomfortable to act that way, that the pictures come off as frightened. She really looks like a deer in headlights. But on the other hand, I absolutely love the other bikini pictures. Because she’s not trying to be sexy in them, she comes off more natural and playful. Not to mention absolutely adorable. I’d actually prefer the whole photobook like that, rather then her wannabe sexy shots.
Everyone’s favorite, well maybe not everyone’s but certainty my favorite, ex-Hello!Project member Arihara Kanna announced recently that she will be coming out with a photobook and image DVD in November. You can read the post yourself here.
I gotta say this completely took me off guard, I wasn’t expecting this at all. Of course I knew Kan Kan was back in the entertainment business when she made her blog. But a photobook and image DVD, is the complete opposite of what I thought she was up too. Kanna made a few blog posts that she was filming something, and had to keep hush hush about it for the time being. But I just assumed she was filming a scene for a drama or commercial. I was convinced that she was becoming an actress. But apparently I was wrong, you know what they say about assuming. On the front page there’s a link for contact at bluserosemodel. So apparently she’s just going to be a model. Which makes me a little bit sad. I really want her to sing again! But she’s still young so there’s still hope for that.
But all of that aside, I am completely thrilled about her first photobook. Because let’s me honest she probably never would have released one if she stayed in C-ute. So in a way leaving C-ute was the best thing Kanna ever did. She can completely live her life the way she wants to and have a better career than before. In a sense that all of the focus will finally be with her. I don’t know, I’m starting to like her not being in C-ute more and more.
I can’t believe it actually happened. It wasn’t to long ago that Kanna first appeared on Erika’s blog being called her best friend. And it also wasn’t to long ago that I said Kanna really needs to follow in the foot steps of her best friend and open her own blog. Well apparently the idol gods have heard my prayers because former C-ute member Arihara Kanna has just opened her own blog on May 31st! That’s right the one and only KanKan now has a blog. The blog is apparently called Handling manual of Kanna. Which is a pretty weird name. But who cares about names at a time like this. Kanna has a blog now! It’s time to rejoice, overreact, and wildly speculate! By the way here’s the link to the blog.
First off I gotta say I love the header. It’s absolutely adorable. I love the picture with he hair up, we finally get to see her cute elf ears again. However, I don’t really care for the pictures in the gray shirt. I mean, she’s smiling but she doesn’t look happy at all. I wonder what that’s all about. But I guess being kicked out of H!P does have that effect on you. :/
Secondly, why does Kanna have an official blog? Or really a blog at all. Does this mean Kanna is going to be returning to showbiz. This blog really does seem to indicate that. I doubt she would really open a blog for no reason. I mean seriously. Why would an former celebrity blog just because. Especially a celebrity who said she was “leaving” C-ute and H!P to have a normal life. Yeah, having a blog isn’t exactly normal, and kinda defeats the purpose of “leaving” in the first place. That only other conclusion is she’s returning to showbiz. Which, if it’s actually happening, is beyond amazing!
But I don’t really want to see her come back as just a model. I know I should be happy that’s she making a comeback at all, but just being a model is completely lame in my opinion. If she becomes a model what do us fans really get? A couple a new pictures of her a month, that’s about it. I’d prefer if she made a comeback like Aibon did, singing and acting. I want to actually see Kanna doing something again, not just pictures. Especially since Kanna’s voice is amazing. She was completely underrated in C-ute. But her being so unpopular probably hurts her chances of being that successful as a singer. Unless she comes out with some truly amazing song or concept.
But for now the only thing I can do is listen to Sweets—-> Live on a loop and hope for the best.
It must be forgotten ex-member week in Japan, because pictures of forgotten members have surfaced. And because I must have incredible luck, it just so happens the pictures are of members I always complain about not seeing.
First up is new pictures of former NEWS member Hironori Kusano. When I first heard about new Kusano pictures I was pretty thrilled. I’ve expressed on this blog several times I want to see new things from Kusano. So I’m happy at any little new thing that surfaces about him. But it’s hard to find pictures of Kusano that aren’t unnecessarily blurred, or partying with some random foreign chick. But this is something official. Kusano modeled for some sort of store called Cailly*Coo. You can go here to see for yourself.
It’s good to see Kusano doing something again. However, not with that hair. He looks pretty much disgusting. He’s got this wannabe Johnny Depp hair going on, and I am not into it at all. Kusano is usually really adorable, but this hair completely ruins everything. :/ I wonder if this means Kusano will actually do something now. Wasn’t it for the longest time he wasn’t allowed to show his face at all? If he is now, apparently JE had something to do with it.
And the next person is none other than my favorite C-ute member, if she’s officially one or not, Arihara Kanna! I literally gasped when I read that there was a new picture of Kanna. I haven’t seen Kanna in over a year. Ever since she had her “bunion surgery.” And I am beyond excited to see her again.
This picture is from Erika’s blog, where you can check out here. Since I can’t read or speak Japanese, I have no idea what is being said about Kanna. The only thing I can understand is えりかのBESTFRIEND, which pretty obviously says Erika’s best friend. I am so happy about this picture. Kanna is looking as adorable as ever. I definitely think Kanna should follow in the footsteps of her best friend and become a model or at least open a blog.
It was announced today that C-ute member Arihara Kanna is leaving Hello!Project. A statement was released on H!P’s Official Site. You can read the translation of this statement onH!O.
This is the worst news that I could have ever hopped for. As soon as I read the article about Kanna leaving I immediately started to cry. Even now it’s hard to write this post.
Now if you read my H!P 2009 poll post, you’d know that Kanna is not only my favorite member of C-ute, but she’s my 2nd favorite H!P member period! And the main reason I listen to C-ute.
Kanna was incredibly sweet, she was always smiling and happy. She always worked hard to become a better member of C-ute, even though she was in the background. She was really close to everyone in C-ute, especially Airi. Though they would poke fun at her a lot. Aika even mentioned during one of the H!P concerts she became good friends with Kanna. She had a really good voice, my 3rd favorite in C-ute, but she was never given the chance to really show it off.
Even though I had my suspicions of Kanna leaving C-ute, I never thought she actually would. I wrote a few months back about my concerns about her return. I really hate that I was right.
According toH!O there were other things in play that ultimately made Kanna leave C-ute. There was a rumor that Kanna had a boyfriend. Who was no doubt Johnny’s Jr member Hashimoto Ryosuke, that Kanna was caught with last July in Bubka magazine. They also state that new scandalous Kanna image came out a week ago that put UFA in a tough position. Well I have a few problems with both of those reason.
Kanna was caught with Hashimoto Ryosuke a year ago, and no repercussions happened then. It doesn’t really make sense to punish Kanna almost a year later. There’s also Miyabi’s rumored boyfriend. There was video of Miyabi with him, and yet nothing happened to her. Everyone thought Kanna was in the background enough for everything to blow over. And it did, but all of a sudden it’s not ok. That makes no sense to me. And these new pictures that surfaced of Kanna roughly last week ago, where are they? I’ve never even heard of them till today. If they really surfaced why aren’t they in tabloid magazines, why doesn’t anyone have these photos. And just what action would be enough to kick her out of C-ute? Smoking or drinking? Well if Kanna is guilty of this or anything else I want to see the pictures. Aibon’s smoking scandal was posted all over the place, but Kanna’s is no where to be found. There was even clear pictures of Megumi with her boyfriend.
I have a lot of frustration and sadness about this. What makes it even worse is Kanna won’t even get a graduation or any kind of formal goodbye. I understand that if you have a boyfriend or scandal, you don’t get a graduation. Just like Aibo, Megumi, and Miki didn’t. But Kanna left unexpectedly in February. She’s been gone for months, everyone waited with baited breath for her return. But she gets nothing.
This is just really sad. Kanna is going to fade away forever, just like Megumi did. I doubt she’ll ever make a comeback. It’s just not fair. All she did was have a boyfriend. Aibon and Kanna both left, they were some of my favorite members. I’m starting to really get fed up with H!P and UFA. I don’t even think I’ll bother listening to C-ute anymore. But that’s probably just my emotions talking.
Here are some of my favorite Kanna performances.
Sweeeets→→→Live is my favorite C-ute song. Kanna shined in it so much.
Kanna looked absolutely adorable during this performance of Everyday Yeah! Kataomoi.
I always liked the song JUMP because Kanna got a decent amount of lines.
My favorite Kanna FC solo event. She has such an amazing voice.
This will probably be the last post I ever make about Kanna, and that breaks my heart.
As most of you already know C-ute member Arihara Kanna took an indefinite hiatus due to needing foot surgery. But as it get closer and closer to the time Kanna was expected to come back, there is no official announcement of her return. Even though she was expected to return in June, Kanna is absent from C-ute activities through September 27th. This makes me wonder just how serious her condition is, and if she’s retuning to C-ute at all. Kanna went into surgery in February and it takes about 2 months to recover, so shouldn’t she be recovered already.
Here’s a list of things Kanna will be missing from: C-ute Concert Tour 2009 Spring ~A B ℃~ / Cutie Circuit 2009 ~Bye Bye Bye!~, C-ute summer concert, C-ute FC Tour in Hawaii, C-ute’s 9th Single Shochuu Omimai Moushiagemasu , and Hello!Project Champloo ~Happy Marriage Song Shuu~ .
Now that’s a pretty substantial list. It’s easy to understand why she’s going to still be absent from concerts and even the next single, since everyone heals differently. But why is she going to be absent from the H!P cover album? Most likely this album will be the same as Morning Musume’s Cover You, where no PV was filmed. There’s going to be no dancing involved and yet Kanna still can’t even lend her voice for it? I find that a little odd.
The only concert that doesn’t officially say 6 nin C-ute is the summer concert. Which gives me some hope that Kanna might actually be there. The summer concert starts in August. That would give Kanna 6 months to heal, which is roughly 3 times the usual healing period. If Kanna ends up not being at the concert, I’m not sure how good it will be for her returning. If she’s not up to performing then, I’m not sure she ever will be.
I’m starting to really grow impatient for Kanna’s return and I’m also thinking the worst. But Kanna’s birthday is next month, so maybe we’ll get some news then. Or at least a birthday shout out from the members.
C-ute will be releasing a new single in June. It will be a cover of the 70’s pop song Shochuu Omimai Moshiagemasu.
It seems like H!P is releasing a lot of cover songs lately. Pepper Keibu, Dschinghis Khan, and the entire Cover You album. And I’m a little curious to see what C-ute’s cover of the song sounds like. I’m not really a big fan of the original Candies version of the song, it’s just a bit too old fashion sounding. but I really did love SweetS version of the song. If C-ute makes their cover a little faster and happier I think the single could turn out to be really great. Now the really exciting part of C-ute’s new single is that is being released in June. Which is the month that Kanna is supposed to return to her C-ute and H!P activities. And I am beyond excited for Kanna to come back. It really seems like H!P’s goal to have Kanna participate in C-ute’s next single. I really missed 7 nin C-ute. I can’t wait to see her back in fighting form.
There’s no actual preview of the song, but here’s SweetS’s cover so you can get an overall feel of the song.
