Momoiro Clover’s sub-leader Hayami Akari announced at a concert today that she will be leaving the group in April. Her reason for leaving was that she feels there’s a better path for her than being an idol. She also said that the decision was completely hers. And that she felt like an unnecessary person within the group.
This came as quite a shock to me. Momiro Clover is a relatively new idol goup. They’ve only been on a major label for a year. This is also shocking because I always really liked Akari. I don’t really know too much about MomoClo because they hardly ever get subbed. But Akari always stood out to me for having a cool character. It’s also surprising because honestly if any member was to leave I was sure it would be Reni. Reni obviously can’t take the pressure of being an idol that’s always in the spotlight. And because of it she is completely unhealthy and almost deadly skinny.
During KAT-TUN’s concert at the Tokyo Dome on Friday night, Johnny’s Entertainment president Johnny Kitagawa, attended the concert and spoke about Jin. Jin will perform in the US as a solo artist next year, so there is no plan for him to return to KAT-TUN for now. Kitagawa explained that right now, the focus is only on Jin becoming successful in the U.S. He said that it would be too soft on Jin to let him return to KAT-TUN as a fallback if he doesn’t succeed. Johnny said that the final decision will be made after Jin’s U.S. tour this fall, but at this point it appears to already be guaranteed. And fear not, KAT-TUN will remain a group. There’s no chance of them breaking up as Johnny also said that KAT-TUN doesn’t need to be a 6 member group. In the same way that NEWS doesn’t need to be an 8 member group.
That’s right Akanishi Jin will officially be leaving KAT-TUN. Or should I say KT-TUN now? Because Kame having the KA is just lame in my opinion. Yeah, he’s leaving and you heard it here first! Well kinda, but not really. XD But all I can say now really is: I knew it! I completely called this! I knew as soon as he had no plans with KAT-TUN after his US concerts in October, that he wouldn’t come back. Right now I’m in such a euphoric state because of the slight adrenaline rush of calling this right off the bat. I’m so weird/creepy. XD As I said in pervious posts when this news first broke Jin’s US cocnerts didn’t set right with me. Though I did look at it from a completely skeptical side, I knew his potential for the US market was to good to pass up.
It’s obvious that Jin has an extremely large American feel to his music. But when you have a near carbon copy of Justine Timberlake’s music, why wouldn’t you? There no way all you biased Jin fans out there don’t hear that LoveJuice sounds like an amped up version of Justin Timberlake’s My Love. It’s so obvious! On an episode of Cartoon KAT-TUN he even proposed to Leah Dizon, in English, using the lyrics to My Love. So he’s obviously heard the song at least once. But that’s a whole different situation entirely.
Now that it’s official that Jin is trying to make it in the US, I am completely excited! For the past year all I’ve been hearing is Korean singers/actors trying to make it in the US. And I’m just completely sick of hearing about them. I do like Kpop, don’t get me wrong. It’s just that I love Jpop about 2 thousand times more. And all this Korean guys you tried to make it here weren’t half as good looking as Jin. Bring CN BLUE over here! XD The chance to see Jin on TV in the US is just mind blowing. I nearly had a heart attack 4 years ago when I saw Dir en grey on US TV for the first time. And I literally fell off my couch when I saw Tokio Hotel on MTV. I sincerely hope that Jin doesn’t crash and burn. That American doesn’t eat him up and spit him out. Cause you know once you make it here you can make it anywhere.
And if Jin wants to be successful in the US he has to improve his English MASSIVLY. America is extremely racist when it comes to Asian voices, if they hear his less than perfect English they will immediately be turned off, no matter how good the song is. Dir en grey and Tokio Hotel became semi famous here because they already had a following in the US. But Tokio Hotel was way more commercially popular in the US then Diru. Mostly because of the fangirls. Of course I’m a total Bill fangirl. XD And the fact that Diru didn’t sing in English. And probably a little because they were German and not Japanese.
So KAT-TUN fans rejoice or cry, either way the decision is (mostly) done. So I guess this means Akme is officially dead. And it also means KAT-TUN fans will never stop crying over KAT-TUN being 6 forever, and bring Jin back. Much like NEWS fans cry over NEWS being 8. But I’m guilty of that myself. Well I’d be fine with NEWS being 7. 😀
And I’m sure Jin is beyond happy about this because he wishes he was American so bad. It’s a little sad. I don’t wish I was Japanese. I don’t even wish I lived in Japan. Of course there are times I do so it’s easier to get merch or see a concert. But I’m quite content with where I’m from.
Morning Musume’s 7th generation member Koharu Kusumi will be graduating from Morning Musume and Hello!Project. Her graduation concert will be held on December 6th. You can read Tsunku’s comment here or Koha’s comment here. She will also be graduation to pursue a modeling career.
Someone please tell me I’m in some sort of H!P related nightmare. That I’ll wake up and all the groups will be back to 7 nin and 9 nin. Sadly that’s never going to happen. One of my favorite, if not my favorite, member of Hello!Project is leaving. Koharu is the reason I even like Morning Musume or H!P. If it wasn’t for her I probably wouldn’t be a H!P fangirl at all.
If I was crying when Kanna left, I’m bawling now. When I first heard this news I thought it was some rumor of joke by a Koharu hater. But after I saw the official announcement it sunk in. But even now I can’t really fathom her leaving. Morning Musume is going to be so empty now. Everyone else seems boring compared to her. You got Reina who’s arrogant, Sayumi who’s narcissistic, Ai and Mittsi who are boring most of the time. At least LinLin has that weird and fun personality.
And I can’t be the only one who didn’t expect this to happen. And not because graduations are always unexpected, but because she shouldn’t be the member leaving. I’ve thought for a while about who should leave, and I came to the conclusion that it should be Sayumi. She’s been there a while and contributes nothing vocally to the group. So she was the perfect choice. I never thought in a million years it would be Koha. Especially since she’s really popular, and she’s releasing her new photobook Sugar Doll.
But on to happier thoughts. I loved Koharu for her hyperactive and always entertaining personality. Out of all of the girls she seemed to have the most fun with everything, and never really took things too seriously. She always showed her own personality no matter what.
Over the years the years there has been a lot of Koharu hate out there, mostly because she’s not the best singer in the entire world. I think Koharu got a lot more hate then she deserved. I actually really love her singing voice, her Morning Musume voice and her “Kirarin Revolution voice.” Which by the way, I never thought there was a difference. She might have lip synched, but she did work to get better.
It is very bittersweet for Koharu to leave. But it’s even worse to stop supporting her just because she’s leaving. I hope she does great as a model. Maybe she’ll become famous over here. Hopefully she’ll open her own blog at least. Who knows. But no matter what happens Koharu will always be Miracle-chan to me.
This is the first video I ever watched about Koharu Kusumi. I watched this clip before I even knew she was in Morning Musume. I just wanted to know everything about her. I was happy that the first thing I knew about her was she liked dried apricots.
A cute clip with Koharu’s limited English.
I love this performance of Odore Morning Curry. Koha sings her solo line weird.
And in honor of Koharu here are some Koharu songs I covered. I suck at singing so you’re being warned.
It was announced at H!P summer concert that C-ute member Umeda Erika will be graduating from C-ute on October 25th. Erika is leaving to become a fashion model. Hello!Project’s official site also has some official announcement. But your Japanese is probably as good as mine. Becoming a fashion model? Am I the only one who expected Yurina to leave for that reason? I mean, the girls got the height. I know Erika is tall too, but Yurina is a few inches taller than her. It also seems like she’s not the only one who wants to bang JE boys. Since those JE boys love their models.
I really wish I could say that I was sorry that she was leaving. Heck, I’m not even upset that she’s leaving. Much like Kanna Erika was shoved into the back, never really getting her chance to shine. Except for that one random solo song she got on C-ute’s 3rd album. Even though Kanna was in the background, she was still engaging and entertaining. But Erika pretty much bored me to tears. I never saw anything special or amazing about her. I didn’t really even like her voice. I guess I know how all the people who didn’t care Kanna left feel.
I’m also concerned where this will leave C-ute. I know they didn’t lose anyone that puts the group in danger of failing, like Airi or Maimi. Since C-ute’s debut they have lost 3 members, making C-ute now a quintet. Does this mean C-ute will be adding new Egg members? Personally it seems like they should. Losing 2 members in 2 weeks makes C-ute a little bare, and lacking something. This would really be the perfect time to do so. They have the room, and besides Maimi, the members of C-ute haven’t even hit 16 yet. If they added new members now they would be able to pick up a fan base over the years. Most likely C-ute will be a group longer than Berryz Koubou since the member a years younger then them, with the exception of Risako.
Anyway, like I did for Kanna I thought I’d post some of my favorite Erika singing moments. Except I don’t really have any. So all my favorite moments are only because of other members, and she’s kinda there as an after thought.
I like this for Kanna, but Erika doesn’t sound that bad.
I like this performance for Yurina, but I think Erika actually sounds great during it.
I do think Erika is really pretty. I hope she does good in the modeling world. Maybe she can be a model turned actress, like so many models do. Good luck Erika!
It was announced today that C-ute member Arihara Kanna is leaving Hello!Project. A statement was released on H!P’s Official Site. You can read the translation of this statement onH!O.
This is the worst news that I could have ever hopped for. As soon as I read the article about Kanna leaving I immediately started to cry. Even now it’s hard to write this post.
Now if you read my H!P 2009 poll post, you’d know that Kanna is not only my favorite member of C-ute, but she’s my 2nd favorite H!P member period! And the main reason I listen to C-ute.
Kanna was incredibly sweet, she was always smiling and happy. She always worked hard to become a better member of C-ute, even though she was in the background. She was really close to everyone in C-ute, especially Airi. Though they would poke fun at her a lot. Aika even mentioned during one of the H!P concerts she became good friends with Kanna. She had a really good voice, my 3rd favorite in C-ute, but she was never given the chance to really show it off.
Even though I had my suspicions of Kanna leaving C-ute, I never thought she actually would. I wrote a few months back about my concerns about her return. I really hate that I was right.
According toH!O there were other things in play that ultimately made Kanna leave C-ute. There was a rumor that Kanna had a boyfriend. Who was no doubt Johnny’s Jr member Hashimoto Ryosuke, that Kanna was caught with last July in Bubka magazine. They also state that new scandalous Kanna image came out a week ago that put UFA in a tough position. Well I have a few problems with both of those reason.
Kanna was caught with Hashimoto Ryosuke a year ago, and no repercussions happened then. It doesn’t really make sense to punish Kanna almost a year later. There’s also Miyabi’s rumored boyfriend. There was video of Miyabi with him, and yet nothing happened to her. Everyone thought Kanna was in the background enough for everything to blow over. And it did, but all of a sudden it’s not ok. That makes no sense to me. And these new pictures that surfaced of Kanna roughly last week ago, where are they? I’ve never even heard of them till today. If they really surfaced why aren’t they in tabloid magazines, why doesn’t anyone have these photos. And just what action would be enough to kick her out of C-ute? Smoking or drinking? Well if Kanna is guilty of this or anything else I want to see the pictures. Aibon’s smoking scandal was posted all over the place, but Kanna’s is no where to be found. There was even clear pictures of Megumi with her boyfriend.
I have a lot of frustration and sadness about this. What makes it even worse is Kanna won’t even get a graduation or any kind of formal goodbye. I understand that if you have a boyfriend or scandal, you don’t get a graduation. Just like Aibo, Megumi, and Miki didn’t. But Kanna left unexpectedly in February. She’s been gone for months, everyone waited with baited breath for her return. But she gets nothing.
This is just really sad. Kanna is going to fade away forever, just like Megumi did. I doubt she’ll ever make a comeback. It’s just not fair. All she did was have a boyfriend. Aibon and Kanna both left, they were some of my favorite members. I’m starting to really get fed up with H!P and UFA. I don’t even think I’ll bother listening to C-ute anymore. But that’s probably just my emotions talking.
Here are some of my favorite Kanna performances.
Sweeeets→→→Live is my favorite C-ute song. Kanna shined in it so much.
Kanna looked absolutely adorable during this performance of Everyday Yeah! Kataomoi.
I always liked the song JUMP because Kanna got a decent amount of lines.
My favorite Kanna FC solo event. She has such an amazing voice.
This will probably be the last post I ever make about Kanna, and that breaks my heart.
