It was announced that AKB48 members Nakaya Sayaka and Tanabe Miku will be forming a new unit called Baby Gamba. The group is based off the children’s book Boukenshatachi: Gamba to 15 hiki no Nakama. Their debut single Ee Janai ka will be released on September 14th.
Since this is a unit for children I can’t really say that I’m too excited for this new group. However, you seem to make a pretty penny off of children’s songs, so more power to them. The some itself seems pretty cute, so does the PV. It’s just obviously far too childish for me to overly care about this group.
AKB48 sub-group DiVA, announced they will be holding auditions to add a new member to the group. The auditioners must be between the ages of 18 and 23 and have dance experience. Applications are due by August 20th. The winner or winners will be signed to Office48 and join DiVA.
I remember DiVA mentioning auditions a while ago, but I actualy haven’t given it much though since. It’s nice to see that we are finally getting some information about it. I still don’t really understand why DiVA is auditioning for new members. Couldn’t they have just added more girls from AKB48? It honestly seems a little unfair to them. And obviously the winners will only be added to DiVA and not AKB48 as well. Which also seems a little pointless to me. It reminds me of the whole Super Junior and Super Junior M situation. I’m just not to thrilled with the whole idea, it seems really unnecessary to me.
The full PV for DiVa’s new single, Cry, has just been released.
When I first saw the PV preview I didn’t really like what I saw at all. But after I saw the full version I actually really like it. I’m not really sure why because the PV is extremely simple and is the same close-up dance shots I alwasy seem to hate. But there’s just something about it I find so captivating and so alluring. I think a main part of this PVs appeal to me are the sets. Yes, the main set is pretty simple and pretty WTF worthly because it’s just a empty room with a tree in the background in front of a window with an obviously fake looking sky. But the room had very bright fluorescent lighting, which make the girls look nearly flawless. And I’ve loved the second set from the moment I saw it. The falling water in the background just works perfectly for the song. And of course the girls look gorgeous. They have much more laid back clothes and hair, giving them an effortlessly pretty vibe. I also love the dance for this song. Not so much the dance itself becuse the moves are pretty simple and at times awkward looking. But just the way DiVA dances to them makes the whole dance look 100 times better. Even though the dance is simple they are dancing extremely powerfully. That just makes me instantly love it. But probably my favorite part of the PV is when they make it appear that the tree is crying. I know that would technically make it rain, but it was shot at such an angle to symbolize tears. Which is a pretty awesome effect.
Cheap set but beautiful lighting.
Simple moves, but you can tell there’s a lot of skill behind them.
Poor Yuka this hair just does nothing for her.
I love how intense Sae looks through the whole PV.
And yet super pretty at the same time.
Sayaka has the best close-ups. *O*
Ok, Yuka looks really pretty here.
There are no words. *O* I think my bias is showing. XD
This is pretty hot.
Count down 3, 2, 1 Breakin’ Out!
Sayaka looks gorgeous.
Ok, now everyone look like a deer caught in headlights.
Gorgeous I tell you!
See how much better Yuka looks with this hair.
Sayaka looks incredible! *O*
Super intense face.
I love that it basically end with a ray of sunshine.
The full PV for Watarirouka Hashiritai7’s new single, Hetappi Wink, has finally been released.
Even though the PV preview for this song was pretty short, the PV preview turned out to show pretty much the entire PV. The PV is basically following the girls, mostly Mayu of course, while they film a commercial for masscara or something like that. And of course since this PV is a behind the scenes PV we get to see the girls in such exciting places as sitting at a table off set and in the makeup room. The PV follows Mayu closely as she struggles with the daunting task of winking. So this PV is filled with Mayu’s pouting face, sulking face, dissapointed face, and apathetic face. Which are probably my favorite scenes in the PV. Because she absolutely adorable at those times. The PV also consists of the other girls acing their commericals and winking about a dozen times. Which I think is hilarious, because it’s basically saying “in your face” to Mayu. The director is no doubt a sadist. Besides all the snazzy behind the scenes shots the rest of the PV is a pretty standard close-up and dance shot idol PV. Which is fine. The behind the scenes parts are enough of a storyline to keep me interested in the PV. Overall I actually really love this PV. The girls looks too cute for words and the PV is entertaining. And it does manage to have a a consistent storyline throughout the PV. I normally don’t really like behind the scenes PVs because they are usually all the same. But this one has a pretty fresh feel to it. I don’t think any other behind the scenes PV was filmed as behind the scenes at a commercial shoot. And if there are any, I can’t think of them off hand.
Who doesn’t love Mayu’s awkward, innocent, unsure of herself face. It’s impossible not to!
She just makes failing miserably so adorable.
She’s looks like she’s going to cry here, it makes me want to hug her!
I have no idea what the directors are saying, so I’m just going to assume they are talking about replacing her. XD
Poor Mayu looks so defeated.
Can I just say how much I love these dresses? They are like 3 dresses rolled into one. A flamenco inspired dress on top, with a corset in the middle, and a fluffy idol skirt on the bottom.
No need to ask, Mayu’s the fairest of them all.
And the insanely simple dance moves begin.
Ok, this move is actually cute. But that’s only because it’s the epitome of idolness.
Poor huggable Mayu.
Eh, Ayaka does nothing for me. She kind of looks like a vampire. I’m not sure of any other way to explain it. XD
Natsumi on the other hand is gorgeous.
That wink! *O*
Misaki is a cutie too.
This hairstyle is perfect for Aika. It makes her look 10 times more adorable than usual.
Why do idols do this move so often?
I’m not really sure why Naa-chan is making this face, but I approve. XD
You know, holding your eye down like that would actually work. That’s how I learned to lift one eyebrow when I was like 8. XD
Take 35 she’s doing good. XD
The bright lights actually make them look awkward rather than pretty. The contrast is too high.
Now that’s an ameonna.
Having a lot of friends isn’t going to make you suddenly able to wink.
I always thought Mika was pretty ugly. But she doesn’t look that bad in this movie.
Poor Mayu can’t wink when it matters.
I love how the Aki-P type guy in the back says not being able to wink is cute. XD
Of course it has to end with Mayu winking.
I love how there’s a commercial at the end like it’s a real product. Genius!
Here’s the PV. You should watch it ASAP, because it won’t be up for much longer.
A morning show has featured a PV preview for Watarirouka Hashiritai’s upcoming single Hetappi Wink. Some of this clip is filled with Watarirouka Hashiritai7 talking, and all some random making of the PV footage. So, that brings the PV preview down to about 30 seconds. Which is actually perfect. Because like I’ve said before, anything more than that and it ruins the surprise.
Now since I wasn’t really too impressed with the song, I was half expected to be just as underwhelmed with the PV. Luckily, I actually really like the PV. It is a little bit only cheap and simple side, but it’s absolutely adorable. But this is Watarirouka Hashiritai7. They could be just standing there the entire PV, and I would still think it was adorable. The main theme of this PV is behind the scenes of making a commercial. I’m not really impressed with behind the scenes PVs since they are a dime a dozen. Kitahara Sayaka’s Yappa Seishun PV just had a similar kind of PV. However, the way that they are doing the behind the scenes theme is this PV makes it interesting. And it really does work for this PV. It seems that Mayu has to wink for some product that she’s selling. But she just doesn’t seem to know how to wink. So, most of the PV so far shows Mayu trying to learn how to wink. No doubt at the very end of the full length PV she’ll wink for the first time. It’s pretty cute since the song is about winking to focus on that. But I’m not sure there are too many people in the world who can’t wink. But I do remember my friend’s British grandmother telling me it was impolite to wink in England. So, she literally couldn’t/didn’t know how to. I guess it is possible then. XD The PV is cute but I think the dance scenes ruin it a bit. Not because the dance is simple, because it is. But Watarirouka Hashiritai always has really simple dances. The dance set itself is what makes this PV look so cheap. The set itself is cute. A checked floor with a very Italian looking garden. With very pretty climbing roses. Which is fine and dandy looking, but only close up. When the camera zooms out and pans the entire dance set, you can see just how cheap the set is. It’s just obviously fake looking. Like you can make out where the top of the set ends. However, since the PV has a behind the scenes theme they might have actually been going for that kind of look. But I think it’s still pretty lazy on their part.
Avex’s official youtube channel has posted a commercial for DiVA’s upcoming 2nd single Cry. The commercial is about 30 seconds long and is the first time the fans get to hear the song.
I really had high hopes for DiVA to become my favorite AKB48 sub-group. They are the best singers in AKB48, and after watching the little bit of AKB48 shows I’ve watched I’m starting to really like Sayaka. I wasn’t really impressed with Tsuki no Uragawa all that much. Lyric wise the song is beautiful. Singing and music wise, it was pretty lack luster. The music was too soft and the singing was too bland. They didn’t use their full singing potential. However, in this song that’s not the case. During the chorus we get to hear some fairly high and powerful notes sung beautifully. I mean, the notes are held seamlessly. And we get to hear each member have a solo line. At least I think, I’m like 80% sure the last solo in the commercial was Ayaka. Even though I am really excited that we finally have some high notes in a DiVA song, I’m not really impressed so much with the song itself. The song is basically the same as Tuski no Uragawa. Except that the music it’s a fraction higher. I know that slow songs and ballads show off a singer’s vocal ability. But does that really mean that all the songs they release have to be slow? Not really. They could have a regular idol type of song but then hit some really high notes along the way or during the chorus. The songs also seem to be this tempo because DiVA is going with a more mature and adult image. Which is why I don’t really like mature idol groups that much. They’re boring. Mature and idol groups should never really be used in the same sentence. At least in my opinion. But there I go jumping to conclusions. This is only the chorus of this song, no one knows what the verse sound like yet. But I’m willing to bet it’s nearly the same as the chorus.
Now on to the PV. Wow, for being an AKB48 subgroup they release some pretty cheap PVs. At least the set for Tsuki no Uragawa was pretty, despite also being a cheap PV. But are they serious with the Cry set? They are dancing in front of a plastic tree! And the insanely bright setting of the dance space doesn’t fit with the tempo or theme of the song at all. The close-up shots don’t really get anymore cutting edge either. They are just standing in front of falling water. Which makes sense because the song is called Cry. But it’s been done before. Give us something new and exciting. However, the PV isn’t all bad. The girls look absolutely gorgeous. I love the military inspired outfits. The lighting makes them look practically flawless. And I love that the close-ups have their hair styled simple.
The radio rip for Watarirouka Hashiritai 7’s 8th single, Hetappi Wink, has been released. Can I just say that I was under the impression that the 8th single was just going to be Watarirouka Hashiritai. Boy, do I feel stupid now. XD
After hearing the song I am actually a little underwhelmed by the song. As of right now, the song doesn’t really have that wow factor. Pretty much all of Watarirouka Hashiritai’s songs have been effortlessly cute. But with this song it’s missing the immediate cute factor you get with songs like Gyu or Valentine Kiss. The song is pretty heavy and upbeat, which would usually be a big plus for me. But for some reason the music just reminds me of Shugo Chara Eggs songs. Not even because the music is similar, because it’s not. There’s just something similar about it that I can’t quite put my finger on. I am also completely unimpressed with the singing. I know Watarirouka Hashiritai isn’t exactly known for having the best voices, but at some parts of the song the singing sounds a lot more strained than usual. And right after the chorus they repeat the word wink like 8 times, which comes off more as annoying than cute. Just the way they are saying wink sounds like they are trying to hard for it to sound cute instead of letting it naturally happen.
I’m a little sad by how lackluster the song is. Watarirouka Hashiritai is my favorite AKB48 sub-group. And I was expecting a lot more from this song. Hopefully, the song will eventually grow on me. But for now it’s not one of my favorites.
AKB48 sub-group DiVA, announced they will be releasing their 2nd single. The single is currently untitled and will be released on Nakajima Yuto’s birthday August 10th.
I was a little underwhelmed by DiVA’s first single. The lyrics were good, don’t get me wrong, but the song itself just fell flat to me. So, I’m really hoping that this song has the wow factor that I’m looking for. DiVA has some of the best singers in all of AKB48, and are supposed to be a dance and vocal group, so I really hope this time they use the girls to their full potential and really showcase their ranges. Much like with their debut single, I’m expecting something spectacular and I don’t want to be dissapointed.
The PV for Not Yet’s 2nd single, Naminori Kakigoori, was finally released. And I have to say I’ve really been waiting for this PV. I have been in love with this song practically since the first time I heard it.
Since this song has a summer feel and theme to it, the PV pretty much matches the theme to a T. Most of the PV features the girls working at a beachside restaurant. With a very Hawaiian, tiki sort of theme. Which is the perfect setting. Nothing screams summer more than having a summer job, or going to one of those beachside restaurant. But I’m a little weirded out by those scenes. Because while they are waitressing the camera angles are in such a way to make it seem like the members are taking the viewers orders/serving them. I don’t even know why that just creeps me out a bit. They should save things like that for their dating sim game. XD Of course the rest of the PV really plays up the beach setting. The members are seen running along the beach, surfing, and lounging in a hammock. And of course they have water splashed on them throughout the PV. Half because it’s a summer themed PV and half for obvious fanservice reasons. But probably my favorite part of the entire PV are the scenes where they are performing live. I think it was an adorable idea to have they perform at they resturant work at. And you gotta love that the crowd was full of wota to clap along to the song. Much like they had in Watarirouka Hashiritai’s Kanpeki guu no ne PV. The only thing I think this PV is missing is bikinis. I know I always complain whenever AKB48 wears them as nothing more than fanservice. But this PV actually feels like it needs random bikini shots. It’s a summer themed PV afterall, it seems kind of empty without it. Overall this PV is actually really well made. It looks like it cost a fairly decent amount to make. It’s a big step up from their first PV. It also kind of looks like the PV was filmed in Hawaii. But I didn’t really hear anything about that, so I’m going to assume it was just filmed in Okinawa or something. I enjoyed the PV from start to finish. There was always something different going on in each theme. There was a ton of variety to keep me engaged the whole way through. But AKB48 does have the resources to make awesome PVs.
Literally the first thing I thought when I saw this was, “why are they pouring salt into that bowl?” Obviously I then realzied I’m an idiot and it’s shaved ice. Whatever, we don’t really eat shaved ice that much in the US.
Of course no beach themed PV would be complete without running in slow motion.
I wonder if these are real fans or just random extras? Wham had members of their fanclub in their wake me up before you go-go video, so why not Not Yet? XD
Yuko and Rino look the cutest here.
More random slow motion. But this time it caught them at their worst. Lol.
Am I really making a cap to show that I like the credits? You bet I am! XD
Yuko’s a cutie.
Rino manages to grab my attention from the background. *O*
You can clearly see the person they were serving. However, this angle still makes me feel like it supposed to show them serving me.
I find it hard focusing on anyone in this PV who isn’t Rino. She looks the best in this PV. Yuko’s a close second.
It’s a little unfair that only Yuko gets to surf.
I don’t get why Yui is bieng pushed so much. She falls a little flat to me.
This is just so random.
Rino looks really pretty with this hair.
Cute. But Rie looks like a fish to me. XD
That’s actually really cool that their wristbands say Not Yet.
AKB48 sub-group, Watarirouka Hashiritai announced that they will be releasing their 8th single. The single is currently untitled but is set to be released August 3rd. And this single will also include Watarirouka Hashiritai 7’s song Mama Grazie as one of its B-sides.
Even though there’s nothing know about this single, beyond Mayu saying it will give you energy, I am still really excited for this release. Watarirouka Hashiritai is my favorite AKB48 sub-group. And I’m always excited to see what kind of songs they will released. I absolutely loved Valentine Kiss, even if it was a cover. This group hardly ever dissapoints me. Even though 2 of their singles were duds in my opinion, they always have good B-sides.
You can buy this single from CDJapan by clicking the links below.
With a little less than a month until the release date, Not Yet has released the radio rip for their upcoming 2nd single Naminori Kakigori. I don’t really understand why they are relasing te radio rip so early. I actually don’t really remember or pay that close attention to when radio rips are usually released. But in does seem to be obnoxiously early.
I actually like the song. It’s exactly what it promised it would be, upbeat and summery. This song is a tiny bit slower than Shuumatsu Not Yet, but hardly at all. The only real complaint I have about the song is that the singing doesn’t pick up during the chorus. I can’t stand when songs are sung in the same melody the entire song. But besides that the song sounds good. The line distribution seems fair, and the song is incredibly catchy. But my favorite part of the song is toward the end when they start singing really slow. It only lasts for a couple of seconds but I love when songs do that.
I absolutely love the the theme that Not Yet seems to be going for. Just really upbeat, happy, and danceable music. They have only released 2 singles, but they are really starting to become one of my favorite AKB48 sub-groups.
The audio for this video is extremely low. I had to turn my headphones up to 54 just to hear the song at a normal level.
After releasing another PV preview 2 days ago, no3b has finally released the full PV to Kuchibiru Furezu.
The PV seems to be exactly like the preview have shown. The girls of no3b are a pack of criminals that go on a crime spree. But their criminal acts are actually more inconvenient than menacing. They go to some sort of resturant and instead of robbing it they just walk on top of the tables, and flip a few plates over, and look for things under the table. They also go to some office building and just ransack it. Throwing papers around and searching through files. They only time they actually commit a crime higher than breaking and entering or malicious destruction of property is when they steal the car and break the door off. Which is actually pretty cool. But I think it’s kind of lame that the only reason they do any of this is to find their gold microphone stands. But whatever. I guess they needed some way to tie in them singing the whole time. Throughout the PV they also of course they are do a few things that are pretty cliché for criminals. Because apparently all criminals wear leather gloves, play poker, and wear sunglasses. Oh, I wouldn’t want to mess with them. XD All of the joking aside, I do find this PV to be pretty enjoyable. The girls look absolutely gorgeous and sexy in their wannabe criminals attire. And I do like the whole breaking the law and tough image that the PV has. Even if at times it is overly dramatic and kind of phoned in. I still think it’s a cool theme and makes for an interesting PV.
Takamina look gorgeous in this PV.
Oh man, it looks that she’s wearing Patricia Field’s fingertip gloves. Yes, I’m a loser who follows fashion and trends. XD
Don’t switch the blade on the guy girl in shades. Somewhere Corey Hart is rejoicing.
I just cannot get over how good Minami looks.
No matter what Haruna, only looks adorable to me.
However, Mii-chan looks pretty tough.
See, she just looks pretty here. I guess she didn’t get the memo to look tough/sexy.
With a mere 25 days unttil release date of no3b’s new single, Kuchibiru Furezu, we are finally getting to find out more about the single. No3b was recently promoting for Kuchibiru Furezu, and because of that we finally get a song and PV preview of this single. Both are extremely short, and most of the time the members speaking block both. But at least we’re getting this peak.
The song is very rock centric. The music is basically just a heavy guitar rift. The song is a little heavier than I was expecting. Even though it is the song is still basically power pop, it is a change from what they usually do. No3b doesn’t usually release songs that are cutesy and upbeat. Every once in a while they throw in songs like Lie and Kiss no Ryuusei. I have to say I do prefer their more obvious idol sounding singles. But this song isn’t bad either. It’s actually kind of cool. It reminds me of something Buono would do. I kind of wish we could hear more than the chorus though.
To match the song the PV also follows a darker theme. It seems the overall storyline is no3b’s as criminals. They are shown ransacking an office, pouring money out of a suitcase, and it even looks like Haruna has a knife strapped to her leg. But because it’s also a music video, and they have to sing at some point, it also shows the girls randomly jumping on tabels and singing. And also singing in a back alley. Which is a little awkwarrd with the whole apparent criminal theme. But I’m sure it will somehow fit in the actual PV better than what we’ve seen.
AKB48’s newest sub-group, Not Yet, announced that they will be releasing a 2nd single. The single is called Naminoi Kakigori and will be released July 6th.
I’m actually pretty surprised that Not Yet is releasing a new single so quickly. It’s only been 4 month since their last single. But since their furst single was so successful I guess they wanted to rush the second one out while there’s still buzz around them. I am pretty excited for the new single, I was absolutely in love with Shuumatsu Not Yet since the moment I first heard it. It’s one my favorite 2011 release by the 48 groups so far. Only being second to SKE48’s Banzai Venus. I’m really excited to see what type of song this will be. I’m personally hoping for another equally as energetic single.
It was recently announced that AKB48 sub-group no3b will be releasing their 7th single. The single is titled Kuchibiru Furezu and will be released on June 29th. Which is the same day as Hey! Say! JUMP’s new single, so no3b has some stiff competition right there.
So, far nothing else about the single besides the name is known. But I have high hopes for this single. No3b is my 2nd favorite AKB48 sub-group and their singles are usually amazing. But I was completely dissapointed with Answer. I hope this single isn’t a dud as well. I’m really hoping for a song along the lines of Relax or Kimi Shika because those are my favorite no3b singles.
The full radio preview of Watarirouka Hashiritai7’s new song Mama, Grazie has been released. And even though the full song has been released I’m still not 100% sure if this is going to be a legit single or not. Mayu even introduced the song as a campaign song. However, I think previewing the song on the radio a week before the commercial is supposed to air probably means it is going to be an official single.
This song is a lot more laid back than Watarirouka Hashiritai’s last few singles. I was a littled dissapointed by that because I prefer their more upbeat and energetic singles to their more subdued ones. The music for this song also never changes through the whole song. It stays nearly identical in both verse and chorus. Which I find to be absolutely boring, I hate when songs hardly pick up when the chorus hits. The song itself does sound pretty cute but it’s not really that catchy in my opinion. It’s actually kind of forgetable, and sounds more like an A-side than a B-side. It might not be my favorite song by them but it is still miles better than Akkanbe Bashi. But pretty much any song they release would be better than that song. Also, you gotta love how the Japanese pronounce the word grazie. How gurache is supposed to sound remotely like grazie is beyond me. XD
I also don’t see why they bothered to briefly add 2 more members to the group, they are hardly used at all in the song. Pretty much only the original 5 members actually get lines in this. They did the same exact thing in Valentine Kiss.
Here’s the preview. This preview is also pretty low, sorry about that.
A PV preview for AKB48 sub-group French Kiss’s upcoming single, Kakkowarui I Love You has just been released. The preview is only 35 seconds long, but it’s enough to get the overall feel.
The PV looks pretty much like I expected. Since the single isn’t featuring a drama like their previews singles have, this PV follows the standard idol PV formula. The only thing we see in this PV so far are close-ups, dance shots, and a scene of the 3 of them sitting on a couch. And that’s basically it. The background during the dance scenes looks like something Perfume would dance in front of. There a random shapes cut out on the floor in front on a line of circular lights. It has a very futuristic feel to it. Like it would be the inside of a space ship, which I think is really awesome. The background being so interesting on its own, does distract you from the fairly simple dance French Kiss is doing.
But since the PV preview is so short that’s basically the only comments I can make on the PV so far. There’s nothing else really going on. I mean, the girls of course look cute, especially Yuki, and the outfits are cute. But that’s pretty much all that’s going on for now. However, during the last second or two it does show Yuki bending next to a chair. Which seems like they are going to be mixing sexy elements in this PV along with the cute ones.
AKB48 sub-group, and what was thought to have been a one shot group, Watarirouka Hashiritai7 announced that they will be releasing a new song for Mother’s Day. The song is entitled Mama, Grazie, and will be used as the commercial theme for the 7-11 Ito-Yokado’s nationwide campaign. The song will be available on Recochoku on April 27th. The short version will be released on Chaku-Uta and it will be released in full on May 4th.
I’m a little confused on this whole situation. The information I posted above points to nothing more then a song for a commercial. Along the lines of what Kis-My-Ft2 did. Last year they were in a commercial for dwango. In the commercial their song FIRE BEAT was used and was available exclusively through the dwango site. It seems to me that Watarirouka Hashiritai7 is doing the exact same thing.
But despite that, lots of fans are still saying that this song is going to be used as a legit single. So, that makes me extremely confused. Is this song going to be released as a legit single? I honestly have no idea. But it actually could. Watarirouka Hashiritai7 is a sub-group of AKB48, that alone would make the song sell fairly decently. Watarirouka Hashiritai usually sells about 50,000 copies of their singles. But their last single as Watarirouka Hashiritai7, which was also a holiday themed single, sold over twice as much. It seems like management is trying to get as much bang for their buck while they still can.
Wether this song is just a commercial theme or is going to be a legit single, is still unknown for now. But either way, I’ll keep this site updated on all the news for this song.
The radio rip for AKB48 sub-group French Kiss’s upcoming single, Kakkowarui I Love You, has just been released. As you know this single will be used as the opening for Kashiwagi Yuki’s anime Sket Dance.
I am really impressed with the song. It sounds really different then their last 2 singles. Well, actually it sounds a tiny bit like Zutto Mae Kara. But the overall music for Kakkowarui I Love You is amazing. It’s a lot stronger and heavier than anything French Kiss has done before. And a huge step away from their single If, which was extremely slow and soft. The song has obvious anime sounding music, and it should as it’s the opening for one. But I love the overall sound of the song. Everyone’s singing sounds absolutely amazing. And of course Yuki sings a majority of the song. But I don’t really mind because Asuka and Aki sound really great. Especially Aki, her cutesy voice fits this song perfectly. This song also reminds me of something H!P would release, which is probably why I like it so much. There’s a distinct type of idol music that I like. And this is it.
AKB48 subgroup DiVA, released a 30 second PV preview for their upcoming debut single Tsuki no Uragawa.
I gotta say, all around I’m a little dissapointed by this group. This group was supposed to be a vocal and dance unit, but they’ve let me down on both. They have some of the best singers in AKB48, and yet picked a song that didn’t show case their full talent. And now with the PV preview we get a preview of the dance, which isn’t all that impressive. But I should have expected that because it’s extremely hard to make an interesting dance with a slow paced song. The whole PV preview is nothing more than dance shots and close-ups. I really hope the full PV is a little more dynamic than that. But, there is something I do like about this PV, the set. I think the set is absolutely gorgeous. I love how it has a very dark setting, with different shades of dark blue. And the hanging lights and glittery backdrop give it this dark park a night sort of feel. And of course the pond of water in front of the adds a nice effect too.
AKB48 sub group French Kiss has just announced they will be releasing their 3rd single. The song is entitled Kakkowarui I love you and will be released on May 11th. The song will be used as the opening theme to the anime Sket Dance where Kashiwagi Yuki voice acts in.
Since the release is over a month away there’s not much known about the single so far. The only thing that is know is the Limited Edition Type A won’t come with a drama this time. I’ll keep updated on this single as news about it gets released.
AKB48 subgroup DiVA has released a short radio rip of their debut single Tsuki no Uragawa. The group that consists of AKB48 members Akimoto Sayaka, Miyazawa Sae, Umeda Ayaka and Masuda Yuka, will make their official debut on April 27th.
I gotta say I didn’t make a post about DiVA earlier because I thought they were the DIVA from AKB48’s singles and thought there was no reason to make a post about it. XDWell I’m still pretty much a novice fan, so it was an honest mistake. Since this group is being promoted as a vocal and dance unit I was expecting an incredible song. And I am honestly pretty under whelmed with what we hear of the song so far. The music of the song is pretty bland and throughtout the entire song the same beat is repeated. It doesn’t even pick up when the chorus hits. The music sounds like an insert song in an anime. There’s hardly anything special about it. I was also expecting a lot singing wise. Since it’s a vocal and dance unit I was expecting the song to have these huge high notes that show case each girl’s full range. However, that’s not the case. And the few high notes that are in the song are hit softly so you hardly notice the power in them. Sayaka has an incredible voice and it seems like in this song it was wasted. All these girls have incredible voices actually. It’s just sad that they are capable of more and were holding back a bit.
Even though the PV preview for Not Yet’s debut single was just released a few days ago, the PV is already out. Which is obnoxiously fast. I’ve actually been waiting for a decent quality version of the PV to be uploaded anywhere. Which it hasn’t. So, I’m left with less than perfect quality. Sorry in advance for the quality of the caps.
The PV is extremely simple. I mean this PV is exactly like the PVs H!P makes. But I hear many AKB48 fans complaining. I know that I don’t mind in the very least. You can have a low budget and still make an awesome PV. I think this PV did just that. This PV is so adorable and in such high spirits that I just love it! I just love every minute of it. The PV is vivid, super energetic, and completely engaging. Yes, it is the typical H!P close-up and dance shot format. Actually there are hardly any close-up shots. But I could honestly care less. The dance is amazing, I don’t mind watching it for nearly 5 minutes. I don’t even mind that the PV reminds me of a lot of other idol PVs.
The set is cute, but it reminds me of a lot of other idol sets.
The colorful blocks remind me of Buono’s Our Song PV. Keep in mind I said reminds. Because the backgrounds aren’t that similar. It’s just the first thing that popped in my head. Well actually an LM.C PV popped in my head first. But this is an idol blog, not a Jrock blog. XD
It also has the puffy material from Morning Musume’s Onna to Otoko Lullaby Game PV.
And more recently C-ute’s Kiss Me Aishiteru PV. XD
These outfits are a little weird, but at the same time incredibly adorable.
Of course the cheerleader dancers remind me of another PV too. XD
And that PV is Buono’s Bravo Bravo.
I can’t get over how energetic the dance is.
Yuko is really pretty.
I really need to follow AKB48 better. Since Yui was recently added I didn’t even know she was a member of AKB48. XD
I’m sorry but this whole body wave move is so 1980’s.
I never really noticed Rino before, but she’s a realy stand out. She’s gorgeous.
I really love this dance.
But sometimes it reminds me too much of Hey! Say! JUMP’s Time dance.
All eyes on me, in the center of the ring.
What’s with the Tokkaiko Junjou chest popping?
I really need to stop pointing out similarities. O_O
A PV preview has just been released for AKB48 sub-group Not Yet’s debut single Shuumatsu Not Yet. Which is funny because I just said in another post how I hope they release a radio rip so I can make a post about the song. XD
When I first saw the picture of Not Yet a month ago I was expecting this awesome, gritty, rock inspired group. Instead we have this laid back and refreshing group. Which isn’t a bad thing, I was just not expecting it. The song itself isn’t really anything spectacular. It’s an ok song, with a mediocre soft beat. But I became a lot more interested in the group by watching the song performed. I thought the dance was both adorable and exciting to watch. I found the performance itself to be very entertaining. I had a goofy smile on my face throughout it. And since then I’ve been patiently waiting to see what the PV would look like.
And now, the preview is finally out. The preview is extremely short, lasting only about 30 seconds. And the entire time the PV preview consists of Not Yet dancing in 2 extremely odd outfits. The first makes them look like they are a squadron of super heroes. And the second one has like a circus theme, but looks like a standard idol concert outfit. Despite the PV being nothing but a dance shot, I’m actually really entertained by it. It just looks so cheerful and happy. Maybe it’s the extremely bright background, or maybe it’s the adorable dance. But whatever it is, there’s something I love about this PV and group. The set of the PV reminds me of like 3 different PVs jumbled together. But that doesn’t really bother me. But for me the highlight of the preview was Yuko’s short dance solo, mostly because it reminds me of her awesome dance solo from Heavy Rotation.
All in all I am actually really looking forward to the full PV.
Here’s the PV preview.
And if you have yet to hear the song, here’s them performing half of it. The song starts at 2:07.

AKB48 sub-group no3b released a PV preview of their upcoming new single Answer. This is also the first time I’m hearing the song as well because I completely forgot about their new single. And also because a full radio rip was never released. I just listened to a preview for Not Yet’s debut single, hopefully they release a radio rip so I can make a post about that. XD
The PV preview itself is extremely short and most of the time it’s just Kojima Haruna and Takahashi Minami talking about the single. So we hardly see anything
The PV itself does look a little low budget and a tad simple. But they still manage to make the PV interesting to watch. I personally find the PV to be a little odd. The weird aspect to the PV is when their heads are just revolving around in a circle. PVs in the past have had people revolve around in a circle before. The only idol one that comes to mind is The Peace by Morning Musume. But that was their whole body, having just the heads makes it a little creepy to me. But that’s probably just me. And at the very end of the clip they show their whole bodies. But who knows how prominent those scenes are. XD Also another chunk of the PV they seem to be singing behind what appear to be picture frames. The ironic thing is when they only need to show the head, in the picture frame scenes, they show their whole bodies. Which is kinda funny if you think about it. I do think the dance looks like it might turn out to be good, but we literally only see it for maybe 10 seconds at the most. I have to say I absolutely hate the black dresses they wear during the dance. It looks a little too much like something Tine Turner would wear for my taste.
Since the song is used as the ending for the anime Beezlebub the song is extremely anime sounding. But that’s probably what I like most about the song. Because honestly the song is a little boring to listen to. The music during the verse is soft and slow. And the singing is consistently the same throughout the song. Having the song sung at the exact same level and tone is extremely boring. The only time the song gets exciting is when the chorus kicks in. The music amps up but hardly at all. And the singing hardly changes. There’s like one half hearted highish note.
Here’s the PV preview.
And also the song preview if you haven’t heard it either.
