Lately I’ve been getting into AKB48 a lot. I’m pretty much a full fledged fan. Besides the fact that I don’t know the girl’s personalities yet. Which is a work in progress. And since I’ve been focusing a lot on AKB48, I’ve pretty much been lazily following the sister groups. But now I see that I’ve been completely wrong in doing so. And because of this, I feel extremely stupid for neglecting them. Well, when I say them I mean SKE48. I’ve been following SDN48 closer than SKE48 because they are newer and easier to keep track of. And I’m sure you’re also wondering what I mean by, “because of this.”
Well, I’ll tell you exactly what this is. But first I want to start by talking about how I’ve been following SKE48. It’s not really following at all. I first became aware of SKE48 when they opened their official youtube channel. Mostly because everyone was making a big deal about it. I was intrigued so I wanted to find out exactly what they were about. So, I watched the Gomen ne, Summer PV and pretty much called it a day. I ended up liking the song, but have only listened to it a handful of times. Then a couple of months later I randomly found Tsuyokimono yo on youtube. I liked that song a little more and listened to it a couple of times every few weeks. Then when 1! 2! 3! 4! Yoroshiku! came out I actually wasn’t impressed with it. But a few months ago it got stuck in my head, and I’ve been in love with it ever since. But that’s pretty much the extent of what I listen to SKE48. I mean, when I heard about Banzai Venus I didn’t even bother listening to it.
I guess I should get back to why any of this is important. Recently AKB48 performed a medley on Music Japan, which I of course watched. While I was watching their performance I noticed how SKE48’s performance on Music Japan was a related video. I decided to watch it on a whim because I like 1! 2! 3! 4! Yoroshiku! and felt like listening to it. That was probably the best decision ever because after I watched the performance I basically instantly became of fan of theirs. The performance was absolutely incredible. It was so high energy and engaging that I was pretty much mesmerized. The performance was so awesome, half because both songs are my favorite type of idol song: heavy music, super upbeat, energetic, and cutesy. And half because both songs have insanely amazing dances. They both look pretty intricate and some what difficult. Which makes them fun to watch. I just found the whole performance completely engaging from start to finish.
All this really did was show me I need to start paying closer attention to SKE48. Because honestly, if they keep releasing songs like their last 2 singles I’ll probably end up liking them more than AKB48.
Here’s their Music Japan performance for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.
At Berryz Koubou’s last concert Shimizu Saki announced that Berryz Koubou would be performing at Seattle, Washington’s Sakura Con. Marking their first performance outside of Asia and their first every performance in the United States. (Well, first ever if you don’t count their fanclub tour in Hawaii, which I personally don’t.) Sakura Con runs from April 22-24. You can register as a guest on their website here.
Why do idol groups always have to perform across the country so I can’t go? AKB48 performed in New York, but I didn’t really care at the time. But as fate would have it, I’d kill to go now.
Even though I personally can’t go, I am completely excited about this. It’s always extremely exciting when idol groups perform in the United States. Something like this will definitely bump up their popularity with foreign fans, even if it’s just a little bit.
So I guess I’ll just have to wait for legions of fan reports, pictures, and videos. To those of you going, you don’t know how incredibly lucky you are. And how completely jealous I am. Berryz Koubou is my 2nd favorite H!P group. Actually 2nd is a tie between Berryz and Buono.
Ever since Morning Musume’s new single was announced I’ve been waiting for Morning Musume to perform it on music shows. I even personally wrote to Music Japan. So, you can imagine how beyond excited I am that they finally performed Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game live. They were on Happy music November 26th, and they were just on Music Japan November 28th.
I actually planned on making each performance a separate post, but I haven’t been able to find either performances on youtube until now. So, duel post it is.
I thought the performance from Happy Music was really great. Everyone sounded amazing, especially A-chan. She hits her high notes perfectly, but when does she not. But for some reason the entire time I was watching this I was drawn to Risa, even though she only has 1 line. She just looks really fierce with that hair. This is like the first time I ever though Risa looked good with short hair. The only real complaint I have about the performance is that it’s only half the song.
Maybe I’m a perv, but does anyone else notice that when they bend like that you can see their under shorts. The dresses could be just a little longer. XD
Risa looks gorgeous.
Look at LinLin in the background looking all hot.
The performance from Music Japan is pretty much the same. Except Music Japan’s stage is way nicer and Reina sounds a little weird. I don’t know, all of her lines it seems like she’s out of breathe. Which is weird because she killed it on Happy Music.
On today’s episode of YY Jumping their was a performance of Hey! Say! JUMP’s new single, “Arigatou” ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~. What makes this performance special is, not only are they performing it for the first time, but it’s Hey! Say! BEST and not just Hikaru and Yabu.
I’m dissapointed by how simple the dance is.
But let’s not forget what’s really important. Yabu still hasn’t dyed his hair, and still has his sexy dark brown hair. 😀
I love the background, with images from around the world. Statue of Liberty FTW! XD
WTF. All the foreign thank yous are written in red and katakana, except the English one. I know it’s only written in English because Japanese people are the most familiar with it, but still. They could have wrote it in katakana too.
I guess this is supposed to be grazie? It doesn’t sound like it. XD
I knew there had to be some sort of bowing move.
I wonder if Hikaru is the one saying this in the single version. I sounds like it could be.
Oh man look, it’s Casey Anderson right next to Hikaru.
It’s the first performance ad I’m still really not feeling the song. It’s still just mediocre for me. But that’s ok, I don’t have to absolutely love everyone of their songs. Also, I hope this single follows the pervious JE releases. About a week-a week 1/2 before the PV previews came out their new single was performed somewhere on TV. So, let’s hope this means we’ll get the PV preview soon.
Since I am unable to make my review post about KAT-TUN’s new PV for Change UR World, I thought I’d make a post about their Heyx3 performance. Since, you’re probably dying to know why I can’t make my review post, I’ll tell you why. Let’s just say KAT-TUN fans are a little intense. I’ll just leave it at that. Because when I can make my review post, I have to make a mini rant about it. :] The performance was pretty much like every other performance. They came, they sang, and they were hot. I actually thought this performance was better than the Shounen Club one. They just sound better. And everyone looks better. But I liked Koki’s outfit from Shounen Club better. :/ I think I’m making too many posts about Change UR World, but I can’t help it. I love this song!
I love Ueda’s jacket.
This looks just like the dance move from Arashi’s Monster.
Of course Kame looks hot.
I love how during everyone’s solo lines I’m only looking at Koki.
Look, Koki has a random patch of blonde hair. XD
I love how Koki is smiling through hi whole rap part. Probably because his solo is pretty long, and it doesn’t get cut off midway because they only have 2:30 minutes.
Kame always nails this part.
Here’s the video. You should watch it quickly. It will most likely be gone by tomorrow.
KAT-TUN preformed Change UR World on today’s episode of Shounen Club. (Well it’s technically yesterday for the rest of the world. But not here. XD) And the only thing I can say about the performance is OMG Koki looks amazing. I was a little hesitant of Koki’s new hair because it makes him look like a mix between Penn Badgley and Oliver Twist. But I’m so over that. And I am officially in love with it now, and I hope he never changes it. XD Koki just keeps getting hotter and hotter. ;]
By the way, this clip/these caps are in low quality. I wanted to wait until a high quality was available to make this post, but I bet by the time one is available with my luck the PV will be out. And then this post will be pointless. So yeah I took my caps straight from the tudou video because there was no way I was going to actually download a LQ video. XD
Whenever I watch Japanese songs live I’m always surprised with the amount of English I never notice they are singing.
I love how all the fangirls screamed for Koki.
I bet this whole random hair flipping part would be sexy in HQ.
I had absolutely no idea this is what he was saying.
To the person I was talking to through comments about the song, it was Kame singing the Change UR World part at the end. So glad to finally know 100%. XD
Look at that sex hot outfit Koki is wearing.
How can anyone not love his new hair. I’m also really happy that Koki talked the most, since he’s the most entertaining member.
NEWS preformed their news single, Fighting Man, on today’s episode of Music Station. Since I am beyond in love with the song I had to make a post about their appearance. It honestly feels like an utter tease to watch them perform it live and not have a PV yet. But I’ll live, since it will probably only be another week or two before the PV comes out.
Well I can honestly say I had absolutely no idea this song had English in it. Obviously Fighting Man was in English, but I mean beyond that. And it’s funny because my favorite chorus parts are the English lines. Even though they aren’t pronouncing the words 100% correct, collectively it actually sounds really good. And after watching the live it seems the megaphone line really was Shige after all. I have no idea why I thought it was Tegoshi. I think that’s probably the biggest compliment Shige will ever get on his singing. XD
Now on to the best parts of the performance.
Ryo looks pretty fine. I love how his hair is. I was afraid because in recent magazine scans Ryo had some pretty ugly hair. XD
Lolz random poses in the background. And Ryo has the best oufit.
I’m not feeling Yamapi’s hair. It’s the same style that Kame had. I cannot remember when he had it though!
WTF is up with Tegoshi’s hair? He looks even more womanly than usual. Unless he’s going to go jam with Montley Crue later. XD
I’m sure this line just means don’t be a wet blanket. o_o
I’m sorry but the slow motion punch move is lame.
Massu looks so bad.
Adorable. And Ryo’s shocked do no want face is priceless.
As always, if you want to watch this performance you’d better do so fast. You know before Johnny’s streaming nazis have it taken down.
