Kanna photobook cover preview

I’m sure everyone is aware that one of my favorite ex-Hello!Project members, Arihara Kanna, announced on her blog several months ago about her first photobook and image DVD. But since it was pushed back devoted KanKan fans like myself had to wait a little bit longer. With only 10 days until the release of Kanna’s first photobook, Kanna, the wait is almost over.

And because it’s so close to the release date we finally have a preview of the cover.

I probably should have waited until a bigger picture was available, but I was too excited to wait.
Even though I am extremely for the photobook itself, I am disappointed by the cover. The picture is very unfaltering. In the picture Kanna looks tired and washed out. But the plus side is, that after seeing I realized this is the first time we’re seeing Kanna in a bikini. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t think of another occasion she’s worn one. Which in itself, is pretty exciting.

Kanna was also featured in a magazine recently that previewed a few pictures from her photobook.

Now these pictures I both love and hate. Let’s start with the hate. I don’t really like the main picture of this shoot, the white bikini ones. It looks like she’s trying to look innocent, seductive, and beckoning at the same time. But Kanna must have been so uncomfortable to act that way, that the pictures come off as frightened. She really looks like a deer in headlights.
But on the other hand, I absolutely love the other bikini pictures. Because she’s not trying to be sexy in them, she comes off more natural and playful. Not to mention absolutely adorable. I’d actually prefer the whole photobook like that, rather then her wannabe sexy shots.

My prayers have been answered, Kanna opens a blog!

I can’t believe it actually happened. It wasn’t to long ago that Kanna first appeared on Erika’s blog being called her best friend. And it also wasn’t to long ago that I said Kanna really needs to follow in the foot steps of her best friend and open her own blog. Well apparently the idol gods have heard my prayers because former C-ute member Arihara Kanna has just opened her own blog on May 31st! That’s right the one and only KanKan now has a blog. The blog is apparently called Handling manual of Kanna. Which is a pretty weird name. But who cares about names at a time like this. Kanna has a blog now! It’s time to rejoice, overreact, and wildly speculate! By the way here’s the link to the blog.

First off I gotta say I love the header. It’s absolutely adorable. I love the picture with he hair up, we finally get to see her cute elf ears again. However, I don’t really care for the pictures in the gray shirt. I mean, she’s smiling but she doesn’t look happy at all. I wonder what that’s all about. But I guess being kicked out of H!P does have that effect on you. :/

Secondly, why does Kanna have an official blog? Or really a blog at all. Does this mean Kanna is going to be returning to showbiz. This blog really does seem to indicate that. I doubt she would really open a blog for no reason. I mean seriously. Why would an former celebrity blog just because. Especially a celebrity who said she was “leaving” C-ute and H!P to have a normal life. Yeah, having a blog isn’t exactly normal, and kinda defeats the purpose of “leaving” in the first place. That only other conclusion is she’s returning to showbiz. Which, if it’s actually happening, is beyond amazing!

But I don’t really want to see her come back as just a model. I know I should be happy that’s she making a comeback at all, but just being a model is completely lame in my opinion. If she becomes a model what do us fans really get? A couple a new pictures of her a month, that’s about it. I’d prefer if she made a comeback like Aibon did, singing and acting. I want to actually see Kanna doing something again, not just pictures. Especially since Kanna’s voice is amazing. She was completely underrated in C-ute. But her being so unpopular probably hurts her chances of being that successful as a singer. Unless she comes out with some truly amazing song or concept.

But for now the only thing I can do is listen to Sweets—-> Live on a loop and hope for the best.
