A couple of days ago the full PV for SDN48’s 3rd single Min.Mi.Min. was released.
My interest in SDN48 has been dwindling greatly sinc etheir debut. GAGAGA was an amazing song, but then Ai Juseyo was just ok, and now Min.Min.Min is even lower than that. The PVs for SND48’s singles have always been on the same medicore level. There’s just nothing that stands out about this single. The PV does stand out but not for the right reasons. The PV stands out just for sheer weirdness. Which could be a food thing, but in SND48’s case it’s just not. Most of this PV focuses around SND48 in a giant cage wearing bug wings. Which isn’t really explained and is pretty much a mystery to me. There are also close-ups thrown in where they are sitting on the cage. And a few scenes where they are tangled in branches. And that’s pretty much the entire PV. No added exciting elements. No suprise endingwhere they all fly into a giant bug zapper. Instead the twist at the end they did add was pretty weird. They were being fished up by some giant who was standing on what looks like 50 different cage boxes. It made absolutely no sense to me. I guess my real dislike for this PV stems from the fact that this PV is a complete rip off of Miley Cyrus’s Can’t Be Tamed music video. And since I’ve seen Min.Min.Min video before I’m obviously not going to be impressed with it.
What does being wrapped in branches have to do with being a bug?
Is it because it kind of looks like a rest?
Even the cages are similar.
Miley has a tree because she’s a bird, why do they have one?
This girl is pretty. I just wish the quality wasn’t so horrible. :/
This girl is pretty too.
This girl is too flashy.
Yeah, make sure you really emphasise the creepy bug wings.
Ok, maybe this is cool. XD
This girl is pretty adorable.
What’s with the ominous floating?
WTF is that?
No, I’m still confused.
Not really impressed.

The PV preview for SDN48’s 3rd single, Min.Min.Min, is out. And of course it has to be a minute and a half to spoil the surprise of the PV.
My reaction to the PV preview can be summed up in 5 words, “what did I just watch?” The main focus of this PV seems to be the dance scenes, like it is in most idol PVs. Hoever, the dance shot for this PV is hardly ordinary idol fare. The members of SDN48 are dancing inside of a giant cage. If that wasn’t odd enough, they are also doing so while sporting some shiny silver beetle/insect wings. Which doesn’t even begin to make sense. When SDN48 was wearing wings in the Min Min Daho energy drink commercial I though it was a little odd. But never in a million years did I expect them to wear them in the actual PV. It’s just completely bizzare. And definitely WTF of Lol worthy. However, that initial reaction only lasted for a minute or two. After that I had the strange feeling that I has seen this all before. And then it dawned on me. That aspect of the PV is a complete rip off of Miley Cyrus’s Can’t Be Tamed video. But instead of a bird creature, they are bugs. (I’ll go more into the similarites most likely in my PV review.) And after I realized that SDN48 was copying that off of Miley, their whole bizzare, what am I looking at, quirky schtick was pretty much lost. The rest of the PV preview just shows the girl’s close-ups, where they are sitting on the cage. And actually I wouldn’t mind if the whole PV was one giant close-up. The girls look super gorgeous in those black outfits. With their sexy, flowing hairstyles, and their smokey eyes, they just look to pretty for words. Seriouly phenomenal. This is probably the prettiest they’ve ever looked in a PV.
A commercial for Min Min Daho energy drink featuring SDN48 has started airing. In the commercial we get to hear a short preview of SDN48’s 3rd single Min.Min.Min. And I mean a short preview. The commerical is only 18 seconds longs, so we pretty much only get to hear the very beginning of the chorus.
The song sounds completely different than their last 2 singles. GAGAGA and Ai Juseyo both had fairly heavy dance beats. This song is just completely toned down, and not really what I was expecting at all. I know SDN48 has a few slow B-sides, so it’s not really that new for them to make a song this slow. But this song so far doesn’t really fit with their theme. The song sounds too cute for SDN48’s sexy/adult image. I don’t know, I’m just a little thrown off by the song. I mean, it doesn’t sound that bad so far. But it just doesn’t fit them.
It was just announced that SDN48 will be releasing their 3rd single. The song is entitled Min.Min.Min. and will be released on August 17th.
I have a pretty love hate relationship with SDN48. It’s mostly hate though because I’m not into their overall theme. The only only really comes in because I absolutely loved GAGAGA. However, I wasn’t really impressed with Ai Juseyo. I do like Ai Juseyo more now than when it first came out, I’m still not all that enamored with it. Hopefully, SDN48 will mkae me incredibly happy and will release another song like GAGAGA. It seems to be a similar single already because both GAGAGA and Min.Min.Min. aren’t actual words. Now hire the same Korean composer from GAGAGA, and I’ll be happy.
The PV for SDN48’s 2nd single Ai Juseyo was just released.
When the PV preview for this song was released, I voiced my dislike of both the song and PV. But after watching the PV the song has grown on me, the PV not so much. I understand that SDN48’s whole them and appeal is that they are an adult idol group. And even though this PV is sexy, it’s not sexy in the right way. It seems like SDN48 is trying to hard to be sexy in this PV. What made the GAGAGA PV sexy and alluring was that they only had one sexy outfit and basically 1 sexy scene. Which was sort of a tease for the fans. Which in turn made the PV effortlessly sexy. In this PV they are going out of their way too be overly sexualized, and have as much sexy scenes as possible. Which is too much. It makes the PV be in bad taste and almost too much.
Am I the only one who sees that this is supposed to emulate some wota’s rape fantasy. I don’t really approve of that. XD
Of course Japanese men wouldn’t find it as appealing if there wasn’t a least one panty shot.
The English is almost perfect. If they just rid of the second you and the word enough, it would be perfect. I wonder if it’s just in English because they know of all the foreign fans they have?
It’s totally for the foreign fans. I spot Ai Juseyo written in Japanese, Korean, English, German, French, and i think Russian.
The dance is way too simple.
What’s with the horns all of a sudden?
All these “alluring” dance moves are pretty lame.
Of course they have to have nude scenes. Granted AKB48 did these same scenes in Heavy Rotation.
I actually really like the dresses. They are sexy without being obviously sexy.
AKB48’s adult themed sister group, SDN48, announced they will be releasing a new single on March 23rd entitled Ai Juseyo. Technically since the title is written in kanji and katakana the propber romaji of it is Ai Chuseyo. But I refuse to call it that when I know it’s the Korean word Juseyo. Just like it’s Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game and not Onna to Otoko no RARABI GEEMU.
But anyway, recently SDN48 released a PV preview for their upcoming single.
Now, I’m not really into SND48. Mostly because I’m not into girls, so their whole sexy image doesn’t appeal to me. I prefer my idols bubbly and bouncing off the walls with energy. But I really did love their debut single GAGAGA. So, if that song won me over I just had to watch this PV preview to see what the song was like. The PV, so far, is kind of a disappointment. The only thing going on is SDN48 is dancing in skimpy red outfits, and more wholesome white dresses, against a boring nearly solid white background. Their is also a bubble bath scene. Which is a repeat of the two Matsuis bath scene in the Heavy Rotation PV. I’m not really all that impressed by the song either. I understand that they are an adult group. But if they are always going to sing in their sexy/sultry voices it’s going to get really boring really fast. You’d don’t always have to sing like that to be sexy. And also those high notes were pretty painful to listen to. XD
Ok, so I’m not even close to knowing all of AKB48’s songs, let alone SKE48 and SDN48s’ songs. Well actually they seem to all share songs for Stages. I’m not even sure what that’s about. XD I still have pretty much just heard the singles. But in my defense AKB48 has a lot of songs. Besides I have to learn to crawl in the AKB48 fandom before I can run. So why am I witting about learning AKB48 songs now, when I haven’t actually learned them all yet? Well, there’s two reason for that. Reason one: It would probably take me a couple months to learn every single song from AKB48. Considering I still have to follow my JE and H!P fandom. Stop neglecting my Perfume and Scandal fandom. (Which I’ve been doing. I haven’t even heard Taiyou to Kimi ga Egaku Story yet! :/) And I still have to learn about Idolling!!!, Momoiro Clover, YuiKaori, and Canary Club. Not to mention every other fandom I have. (Jrock,Kpop,American fandoms) Plus my real life outside of idol music. XD Reason 2: I wanted to make a quick update on this so people didn’t think I was abandoning everything AKB48 related. Because as of right now my blog is still heavily H!P and JE related. Though I’m trying to fix that. But it’s going to take some time.
Recently I did watch Team A’s first stage. And I gotta say I loved what I heard. The songs are pretty much standard happy idol music, which is expected. Party ga hajimaru yo, Dear My Teacher, and Sakura no hanabiratachi are my favorites so far though. Even though the lyrics too Dear My Teacher are a little much, it’s so catchy I can’t help but like it! XD I am pretty excited to watch Team B’s first stage. Of course mostly because of Mayu. But also because I’m excited to hear more songs from AKB48.
So yeah that’s pretty much my short update on all AKB48/SKE48/SDN48 related things. The next time I update about AKB48 it will be when I actually learn all their songs. XD
I have finally finished what I thought I could never do. Yes, I have finally memorized all the members of SKK48, SKE48, and SDN48. And it surprisingly only took me 2 days. If you broke into hours it took me, probably, only 4-5 hours. Which is a lot quicker then I thought it would take. I thought I’d be there for days.
My method for remembering everyone’s name was pretty simple. First I broke it down to groups, AKB48, then SKE48, and then SDN48. And because AKB48 is so large I broke it down to teams. I then listed each girl with a picture and then her name. I then went down the list and repeated every girls names. I then went over and over the list until I could remember each girl’s name from memory. It’s a pretty long and drawn out process, but it works. I used the same technique back in the day to remember Morning Musume’s names.
I actually feel really accomplished to finally learn all their names. Well all of them minus Research Students. I don’t really feel the need to learn trainees names. I don’t really care about a member until they debut. Much like I don’t pay attention to Hello!Project Eggs or Johnny’s Juniors.
Also when I went through the list I marked down the girls I was interested in. Basically the girls I thought were cute or pretty. Here are my favorite girls so far, if anyone cares. Nakagawa Haruka, Iwasa Misaki, Kuramochi Asuka, Nonaka Misato, Umeda Ayaka, Miyazawa Sae, Masuda Yuka, Ishida Haruka, Watanabe Mayu(of course!), Miyazaki Miho, Kashiwagi Yuki, Hirajima Natsumi, Sato Natsuyaki, Mukaida Munatsu, Kito Momona, Imade Mai, Hanada Ayane, Uchiyama Mikoto, Sato Yukari, Umeda Haruka, Kohara Haruka, and Okochi Misa.
Yeah I know that’s a lot of girls. XD But the one girl that was my absolute favorite and struck out the most for me was Kuramochi Asuka. She was incredibly adorable and gorgeous. She might actually rival Mayu for the top spot. But who knows. I’m still know to the fandom. I might find someone with an amazing personality that trumps everyone else. And also, I was really surprised by how many ugly girls are in AKB48. And I’m sorry to all the AKB48 fans out there, but its true. A majority of them aren’t exactly easy on the eyes. But that’s expected with a agency so large. H!P and JE hardly has an ugly members because they don’t have that many debut artists. Again Eggs and Juniors don’t count. Or for that matter I don’t even pay attention to older JE artists like SMAP and V6. XD
So this officially makes me 1/4 of the way into the AKB48 fandom. Now all I have to do is learn the music, learn the history of AKB48, and watch AKBINGO/learn about the girls. I’m extremely excited, especially since the hardest part, learning their names, is out of the way. Though because I’m a loser I’ll probably repeat the girls names over for about a week or so to make sure I don’t forget them.
By the way, to any AKB48 fans reading this, are the new team line ups the official team line ups from now on? I mean are they going to be this permanently or are they going back to the original team line up a few months down the road? And feel free to laugh away at my noobish question.
