NYC hatch their dreams

After JE has successfully teased us with this song, having it performed live 4 times and given us 2 previews of the PV, the full PV for NYC’s Yume Tamago was released yesterday. With only 4 days until the release date I might add. Which is cutting it extremely close. Also, the PV and caps are pretty low quality, but I did not want to wait to make this post in hopes that a few days from now someone will upload a high quality version to youtube.

The PV pretty much is pretty much what we’ve already seen in the Zoom In preview. There’s only 1 extra scene that we’ve haven’t seen. The very childish dollhouse in the beginning. But the dollhouse and the various outfits fit with the lyrics of the song. Following your dreams and being whatever you want to become. So, the whole aspect of them as dolls as their dreaming of what to become makes perfect sense. A childish interpretation of the lyrics, for a childish song. But I actually don’t mind that the song and PV is for children. They are both absolutely adorable. And even though I did like Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe more because it was the most mature sounding NYC single, this single is my second favorite. And of course my favorite part of the PV is when the dress up as different occupations. Because it’s just down right adorable.

The dollhouse actually makes me feel oddly nostalgic. XD

Ryosuke is so adorable.

I love Chinen’s outfit. And the thing behind him totally looks like the pringles guy!

I though this background was supposed to represent childrens’ drawings. But that castle was outside the window of the dollhouse, so idk. XD

Look at Chinen’s girl hair. Lol.

It’s cute that they are little teapots teacups.

Right here the CG looks terrible. :/

Is Ryosuke ever not adorable?

The answer is obviously no.

How cute.

The dream cloud, it must time to dress up. XD

Cunductor of the philharmonic ochestra, good luck with that one maestro. XD

Somehow, this just fits Chinen.

It’s annoying how NYC has to make everything about New York City in their PVs. I mean, that is obviously supposed to be the New York Yankee’s pin stripes. Yuma’s name is even written in red, white, and blue. :/

Chinen actually looks pretty cute as a pilot.

Ok, the egg is bursting with dreams. But I don’t undersatnd, why an egg? Is an egg supposed to represent a heart or something? In  Buono’s song the Egg was supposed to be in your heart, that marked you as good or bad, or something. And in Shugo Chara Egg’s song the egg in your heart was supposed to define you. But that never made sense to me either. Maybe it’s just like a saying in Japanese? I honestly have no idea though.

I don’t understand why Ryosuke always makes this intense face when he is singing or lip synching. XD

NYC-Yume Tamago short version

With NYC’s upcoming single Yume Tamago’s release date just days away, 7 days to be exact, the short version of the PV has been released. I think it’s absolutely pointless to release a PV preview, short version, and then full version. I just don’t get the reason behind it at all. I suppose it would boost the sales a bit, but I think the full PV would boost them more. I remember Johnny’s used to release short version of all their singles, I haven’t seen them doing that lately. Or maybe than have, and just no one’s uploading them to youtube. XD

I really didn’t want to watch the short version of this PV either because it ruins not only the PV but also my review of the PV. But I posted this for fans who want to watch the short version. And I actually have not watched the short, and don’t intend to.
I’m sorry but I’m not going to comment on the short version of the PV, because I am saving that for my overall PV review post. Which is most likely going to be when the full PV gets released tomorrow or the next day.

So anyone who wants to watch the short version here it is. And sorry that my opinion about it won’t be for a few days. :/

NYC-Yume Tamago PV preview

A PV preview of NYC’s upcoming 3rd single, Yume Tamago, was released during morning news show Zoom In.

Since this song is being used for an anime movie for kids the PV is extremely cutesy and childish. But NYC always releases PVs where I feel slightly embarrassed watching it. But NYC does look incredibly adorable in the PV. Even Chinen how I’m usually too annoyed by to even notice. That fact is really enough to make the PV watchable.

In the close ups NYC seems to be standing in front of a backdrop that looks like children’s drawings. Of course to add to the kid theme of the PV. But most of the PV is miniaturized NYC running around kitchen counters. Which is extremely cute, but it reminds me too much of the video Morning Musume made of Koi no Dance Site on their Odore Morning Curry tour DVD. And also randomly NYC is dressed up as a baseball player, soccer player, pilot, and conductor. Which it’s cute since it’s for the dream aspect of the song and PV.

After hearing the song and knowing it’s for children this is pretty much what I was expecting the PV to be like. If you just accept that the PV has to be childish, it’s actually a really cute PV. And there’s a lot of different scenes and a lot going on in the PV. And quite honestly, I’d rather sit through a childish PV than a boring one.

NYC-Yumetamago preview

With a little less than a month until the release of NYC’s 3rd single, Yumetamago, we finally have a radio rip of the song. However, the preview is only 2 minutes long which is probably only about half the song. And the radio host starts talking through the last 30 seconds so it’s almost inaudible at the end. I mean, you can obviously still hear the song it’s just a little annoying to strain to hear it.

The song sounds pretty much on par with what NYC has been releasing up until now. But I am a little surprised by how tame the music actually is. The song is being used as the ending for an anime movie, but the music isn’t really intense anime music like it could be. It’s actually pretty similar music wise to Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe. Where the music stays the same volume nearly the whole time and hardly changes. When this single was first announced I said how I was looking forward to another song along the lines are Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe, but now that the song is, I wish it was a little different. I guess there’s no pleasing me. XD I do really enjoy the song though. NYC blends really well together and most of the song is group parts, just like all of their past singles. I think it’s a really adorable song. And despite it being for kids it’s not too childish sounding. Which could be a real problem. Does Lilpri ring a bell, anyone?

NYC announces new single

Hey! Say! JUMP sub-group (and possibly Nakayama Yuma w/BI Shadow sub-group?) NYC announced that they will be releasing a new single called Yumetamago. The song will be used as the ending theme for the upcoming Nintama Rantaro Ninjutsu Gakuen Zenin Shutsudou no Dan anime movie. The single will be released on March 9th.

You can already pre-order it from CDJapan. (Just click the links below.)

Yumetamago [Set of A,B, and regular editions]

I do have some mixed feelings about this new single. I am excited for it don’t get me wrong, but I would be way more amped for another Hey! Say! JUMP! CD. But us JUMP fans can’t really complain with 2 singles, and almost 2 DVDs in 2010. (Summary was the very beginning of 2011, so it still really felt like 2010. XD) I am also sad because this single is being used for an anime so it’s most likely going to sound a lot like Yuuki 100%. I much preferred the direction Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe was heading NYC towards. But I guess I’ll have to wait fro the preview before I judge the song. Also having the song being called Yumetamago makes me automatically think of Buono and Shugo Chara Egg. XD

Play well with NYC

When I first saw previews for NYC’s Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe PV I didn’t expect to really like it at all. Since it looked like a majority of it was filmed at ShopRite some random grocery store. But after watching the PV I really do like it. I love the whole tourists running around New York City theme it has. It reminds me a lot of Puffy AmiYumi’s Kore ga Watashi no Ikirumichi PV. The whole thing ends up being super adorable. My personal favorite part of the PV is all the NYC signs the show throughout the PV. Though every time the signs are shown it kinda seems like they are saying look how many times we are personally mentioned in NYC. I think I’m probably the only one that thinks that way. XD

And of course you know I have to do an actual review of the PV.

Oh man Coney Island! Too bad they don’t actually go inside. But I don’t blame them it is freezing outside. Unless it was filmed those days a few weeks back when it was randomly 80 degrees again over here. O_O

They didn’t really have to track the trip this closely. XD

Every New York filmed PV needs a random shot of the Statue of Liberty.

It’s so weird for NYC to stand with those kids for a couple reasons. They don’t know them and those kids have no idea what’s going on. But the main reason is those kids are way younger then NYC is and you can barely tell. LOL.

I love how this doorman looks like a Buckingham Palace guard.

Or maybe they do go inside Coney Island. XD

Perhaps Chinen will grow taller now. Get it? Because in the movie Big Tom Hanks wishes to become big in a fortune telling machine, then it happens. And Chinen is always whining about being short. XD

Chinen looks so disgusting it’s hiliarious.

Ryosuke looks adorable.

Umm… what?

WTF is Zap Daisy City?

Why does Ryosuke always make stupid faces in every PV he’s in?

Oh man American Idiot.

Adorable hat and glasses combo.

I hate that just about everyone from Japan that goes to NYC always makes sure they get a hotdog. They’re not even that great.

Natural History Musuem! XD

Ryosuke is so cute.

NYC-Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe PV preview

A CM for NYC’s new single, Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe, was released. But it only gives up a tiny preview of the PV. And when I say tiny, I mean tiny. The commercial itself roughly 10 seconds. Which is hardly anything.

In that short amount of time I only have a few reactions. Random store setting. But I completely forgot this was filmed in New York City! While I watched this I initially thought, “Wow Japanese supermarkets look just like American ones.” Not really a bright moment on my part. XD But after watching the preview on a loop my reaction now is “OMFG it looks like they filmed this at ShopRite!” Dear god I shop at ShopRite! *cries* To anyone who thinks that it could be any random grocery store, it could be. But look up ShopRite, it looks exactly like this! They are mostly around NYC suburbs! But this is actually not important. I should stop making this a post about grocery stores. XD

Anyway, my reactions are: Random shopping setting is random. LOLZ at Chinen’s disgusting hair. Ryosuke looks super fine. Super sad that Yuma looks bad. Ryosuke looks adorable in glasses. OMG Strawberry Fields in Central Park!
I really need to find out when JE artists are filming in NYC. So I can hop a train and stalk them bump into them. 😀

NYC-Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe preview

The preview for Johnny Entertainment’s sub group NYC’s 2nd single, Yoku Asobi Yoku Manabe, will be released on October 20th. Much like everything with such a short time to it’s release date we have the song preview.

First off, since I never made a legit post dedicated to this, does this mean NYC is like an official group? Having a main group and a subgroup is no big deal. Tegomass, NEWS, and Kanjani8 all do fine coexisting together. But I can’t help but feel extremely sad for B.I. SHADOW. I get it though. Johnny was testing the waters with Nakayama yuma w/ B.I. SHADOW. Which is why they never got their own release instead they shared one with NYC Boys. Once he saw that B.I. SHADOW was an utter failure, he cut the ties, and continued NYC Boys without the Boys. That’s gotta hurt to all the B.I. SHADOW memebers, who will probably never get another single or their own single.

And I gotta say I never really expected them to release another single. Yes, I thought Yuki 100% would be it. In retrospect I guess that’s kind of stupid. Since NYC has the potential to be extremely popular. They probably already are because of all the pimping at HSJ concerts and events. But I honestly don’t follow them that closely.

As for the song I do like it. Mostly because it sounds a lot like Yuki 100% and NYC. And I liked those songs a lot. I even really liked Akuma no Koi though. It’s half slow, half upbeat. It’s really nice to listen to. I’m also glad that they got their own song instead of another cover single. Which means the PV for this will most likely have a higher budget then Yuki 100% did. But much like the other NYC, NYC Boys, and most HSJ songs Chinen’s voice ruins it a bit. I just find his voice to be extremely irritating. And my general dislike for Chinen doesn’t help either.

At little less B.I. Shadow a little more NYC

The rumor of NYC Boys becoming a permanent group has been floating around for a while. Mostly because they preformed at this year’s Kohaku. It seems that this rumor is somewhat true. Yuma, Chinen, and Ryosuke without B.I. Shadow, will be releasing Yuuki 100% as their new single on April 7th. Simply as NYC rather than NYC Boys. This sudden announcement leaves more questions then answers. Does this mean NYC will become a permanent group? Where does this leave B.I. Shadow? Why didn’t they release another NYC Boys/Nakayama Yuma w/ B.I. Shadow single? Why didn’t Hey! Say! JUMP release this when their version was used as a volleyball support song?

However, I don’t really have an answer for any of these questions. The best reason I can think of is Johnny trying to drum up some more popularity for Yuma. Ever since the NYC Boys/Nakayama Yuma w/ B.I. Shadow single was released Yuma has been shoved everywhere. At a HSJ concert, in Ryosuke’s drama, in Hi-Chew commercials. What’s the reason for that? The more popular Yuma is the better a solo Nakayama Yuma w/ B.I. Shadow single will sell. Maybe Johnny doesn’t think a Nakayama Yuma w/ B.I. Shadow is popular enough to sell a substantial amount of CDs to stay a permanent group. So why not release another NYC drum up enough popularity that all these new Yuma fangirls will buy any CD he’s featured on, like a NYwBIS one. So making NYC Boys a subgroup of NYC will most likely be better in the long run for NYwBIS. JE could release a new solo NYwBIS single between NYC releases. Until eventually NYwBIS is a strong enough group on it’s own. They NYC can fade into obscurity. Or release one single a year like Tegomass.

But that’s looking at it from an optimistic “NYwBIS still has a future within JE” sort of way. Who’s to say that having a NYC release rather than an NYC Boys release is saying NYwBIS isn’t working? Chalking NYwBIS up to being a failed experiment. Who’s to say he even wants this new NYC single to sell well? As of right now I’m not exactly sure how this single is going to sell. They’re not making a PV for which is like half of a single’s promotions alone. I’m not sure how well a singles without PV have sold before, I can’t even name a single without a PV. I really think JE should have gone the H!P route. Groups H!P is unsure of or wants to build popularity for, releases indie singles first. They when he feels their ready they make their major debut. If JE did this with NYwBIS it would have saved everyone a lot of heartache. Though we wouldn’t have NYC Boys. So it’s sort of a double edged sword I guess.

But enough of wild speculations, and on to my actual opinion of this. I’m sort of on the fence about the single. I’m not really a fan of Chinen at all. He lessened the awesomeness of the NYC Boys to begin with. I love Ryosuke and all, but I’m sick of all the attention he gets. He’s popular I get it, but stop shoving him in my face every 5 seconds. Yuma is kinda cute. But he’s only 15 and I feel like a pedophile for thinking so. But I was actually surprised by how much I liked his voice. The song itself makes me the most excited by this single. I feel in love with Yuuki 100% when I first heard Hey! Say! JUMP perform it. I love it so much I wouldn’t mind if this was NEWS’s new single instead of Sakura Girl. Ok that’s a lie I’d be pretty angry. But if it was their b side I’d be pretty excited.
