The happiest C-ute fan in the world

The full PV for C-ute’s upcoming single, Sekai ichi Happy na Onna no ko, has been released on their official youtube channel. Ad it honestly seems really rushed. The single isn’t releases until September 7th but we’re getting the PV now. Which is about a week or 2 early. And we’re getting the PV with no warning. Not one PV preview was released for this single.

When I first watched the PV I decided I hated it withing the first 10 seconds. But for some reason by the time I finished watching I was in love with the PV. Which is something that never happens with me. Usually it’s pretty cut and dry, I either love the PV or I hate it. And everything about this PV points to me hating it. The PV itself is extremely cheap. A majority of the PV is filmed in the exact same place. They have the dance shot up front, and then 5 feet behind them is the space for their close-ups. Which is something they hardly ever do in idol PVs. No matter how low of a budget they have, the dance shot and close-ups are 2 different settings. Even the cheapest of the cheap PVs don’t really do this. I can honestly only think of a few PVs that actually do this. Which are Buono’s Renai Rider, and actually most of Kusumi Koharu’s solo singles. Another reason I should hate it is because of the dance. The dance is extremely simple. But idol dances are hardly ever good. Literally 9/10 are terrible.
I should also hate it because literally nothing happens in the PV. Just cute idol poses and close-ups, and that’s it. Yet for some reason, despite all of this, I absolutely adore the PV. Because believe it or not I am pretty easy to please. I might be super critical of idol PVs, but that’s not to say I don’t enjoy most of them. The PV itself could be god awful, but if my idols look cute and are doing cute things, chances are I’m going to like the PV. It will never be my favorite idol PV of all time, but I will still enjoy it thoroughly. And that’s exactly what this PV is like. The PV is simple, but it’s not exactly boring. There are still a few cute elements to the PV. And above all, C-ute look absolutely adorable in this PV. They are wearing puffy idol dresses and oversized hair accessories. It’s that’s not adorable, I don’t know what is!

I feel like I’ve seen this before. But I can’t put my finger on it. And not Perfume’s One Room Disco, somewhere else.

I challenge anyone to say that every members doesn’t look to cute for words in this PV. I’m not the biggest Saki fan, but I want hug her in this PV.

Why does every idol group think this is a move worth repeating?

Airi looks perfect in her close-ups. *O*

Chisa looks pretty fresh and cute.

How is it possible for Maimi to be gorgeous and adorable at the same time?

Airi is so cute.

Gorgeous. MaiMai has been standing out to me a lot more lately.

Adorable smile.

Mai standing out, even in the background.

Creepy smile. Lol.

Airi! *O*

What’s with the random orange?

These are probably my favorite scenes. You get to see every member, and they look cute and doll like.

Ring around the Airi.

Lol.

The funky chicken. Seriously?

Adorable.

Look how cute Nacky is.

It’s pretty obvious what the dominos are for.

Adorable!

I have to admit, Saki really knows how to make her close-ups interesting.

The laying down scenes remind me of Paramore’s The Only Exception music video. American music reference no one cares about. XD

Absolutely adorable!

Lolz at Maimi.

Totally saw this coming.

It reminds me too much of Berryz Koubou’s Tomodachi wa Tomodachi Nanda PV.

This shot is weird. They almost look fake.

C-ute-Sekai ichi Happy na Onna no ko radio rip

The radio rip for C-ute’s upcoming single, Sekai ichi Happy na Onna no ko, has been released.

I gotta say, I do really like the overall sound of this song. It is incredibly happy and upbeat. And it’s also has a hint of a rock vibe, because there’s a constant guitar rift in the background. The song is pretty much sounds like a generic idol song. But I still think there’s a little something more than that in this song. Momoiro Sparkling was pretty generic too, but I like this song about 30 times more than Momoiro Sparkling.
I really love the super fast lines that Airi and Maimi sing before the chorus. But for the most part, I don’t really like the way this song is sung. The girl’s are trying too hard to sound cute, and it’s making their voices sound a little awkward. Especailly Chisato, Mai, and Saki. There voices are pretty annoying in this song. And don’t even get ma started on Saki. Her voice isn’t the greatest to begin with, but it’s almost ear piercing at some parts.

C-ute to release 17th single

C-ute announced that they will be releasing their 17th single. The single will be entitled Sekaiichi Happy na Onna no ko and will be released on September 7th.

I am really excited to see that C-ute is releasing another single. Lately C-ute has been releasing some of their best single. And each new single is completely different than the last. Anymore you don’t know what to expect from C-ute, which is always exciting. However, judging from the title this song seems like another happy upbeat song. Which might be a little boring for fans since they jsut released the fairly upbeat Momoiro Sparkling. But I actually love cuter idol songs, so I’m happy that it seems to be another C-ute song. But you know I do love when C-ute throws a random song in there like Shock or Kiss Me Aishiteru.

As always, you can buy this single from CDJapan by clicking the links below.

C-ute sparkles in new PV

While I was away with computer troubles it seems every single PV has come out, including the PV of C-ute’s new single Momoiro Sparkling. But it was pretty obvious that the PV would be out because it’s extremely close to the release date.

It seems like a lot of people really seem to dislike this PV. And I have to wonder, are they watching the same PV I am? Sure, the PV is actually pretty simple and does stick to the same old format. But I actually really love the PV. It is simple and cute. It has a very sweet and refreshing vibe to it. The main reason why I like this PV so much is the girls. Their outfits are incredible and they look absolutely amazing. This is seriously the best C-ute has ever looked. This is definitely the best Chisato has looked. Since they’ve been focusing on her more, she just keeps looking better and better. I mean, I never really noticed how beautiful she actually is. The PV as a whole for some reason reminds me a lot of Berryz Koubou’s Shining Power PV. It’s probably because of the solid pink background they are in front of in some shots. They did the same in Shining Power except there were like 5 different colors. In Shining Power they play ping pong, and in Momoiro Sparkling they play with water guns. The two PVs are also similar because how it’s set up. It’s hard to explain in words, but watch both PVs back to back and you’ll understand the vibe I’m talking about.

I think the dance is actually really cute. It’s one of the few occasions where totally simplistic dance moves don’t look completely ridiculous. Throughout the PV they try and actually pretend like they have something going on. With them jumping in the air, having balls thrown at them, and playing beach volleyball. But they kind of just phoned that in. Mostly because everything was filmed in the same 2 rooms. If they filmed in more than 2 places it wouldn’t appear to be so cheap looking. Like if they filmed some of it in an outside setting, people would probably complain less. But having them play volleyball the same place where they filmed the dance, makes it super obvious how small the budget was. I actually don’t mind how cheap the PV is or how cheap the overall PV was. The girls look great and they are acting pretty cute in the PV, that’s pretty much all that matters to me. Besides C-ute has always made the exact same PVs basically. Just think back at all their past PVs and you’ll see that they’ve always been pretty much the same. except for Campus Life and Aitai Lonely Christmas.

Ok, I could seriously do without the cabbage patch looking dance move.

I love how the dance area looks. I just wish the blocks didn’t remind me of Heroine ni Narou ka so much. :/

The bubbles kind of throw everything off. Mostly because they are so fake looking.

Now where have I seen something similar to this before?

Oh that’s right, in the Shining Power PV.

Maimi looks super pretty here.

I would kill for Chisa’s outfit. That skirt is amazing. *O*

For some reason this leg move is my favorite part of the dance.

Airi is insanely adorable.

Gorgeous, Chisa looks absolutely gorgeous.

Saki looks…well, at least her jewelry is cute.

I think my heart just skipped a beat.

Little MaiMai has been looking really mature lately.

Adorable.

I don’t know what’s funnier: this dance move or the fact that I actually like it.

Mai looks really cute here.

These mid-air shots are actually a little weird.

Daijoubu.

The first time I’ve ever seen anyone make a K with their body was when Reina did it in the Cinderella musical. I’ve thought it was cute ever since.

Cute.

Maimi is really cute.

This reminds me a lot of their limited edition cover.

C-ute-Momoiro Sparkling preview

A full radio rip of C-ute’s upcoming 16th single, Momoiro Sparkling, has been released.

This song is worlds different than C-ute’s last single Kiss Me Aishiteru. But after hearing their last album, Chou Wonderful6, fans should have been expecting a song like this. Because honestly this song sounds like it was ripped directly from that album. I’m a little bit upset that C-ute didn’t release another single like Kiss Me Aishiteru just because I love when C-ute makes mature songs, they end up being some of their best. However, I am not completely dissapointed by this song as I completely loved their last album. And I feel songs like this are very cute and refreshing. This song to me reminds me a lot Shouchuu Omimai Moushi Moushiagemasu. Obviously Shouchuu Omimai Moushi Moushiagemasu musically is a lot more summer sounding than this song, but both songs have a very summery feel to them. And all of the background sounds reminds me of the background sounds Shouchuu Omimai Moushi Moushiagemasu. Even though they are less frequent in this song.
Overall I really like the sound of this song. It’s very airy and laid back. However, coming after a single as amazing as Kiss Me Aishiteru in just seems more lack luster in comparison. Like you know what C-ute is capable of so why aren’t they releasing songs like that again. That type of feeling.

You can as always buy this single from CDJapan by clicking the links below.

C-ute – Momoiro Sparkling [Single V]

C-ute to release new single!

C-ute seems to be extremely busy these days. Kiss Me Aishiteru is only a little over a month old, and their 6th album is being released in 5 days. You’d think that would be enough for a while. But of course you’d be wrong. C-ute just announced they will be releasing their 16th single. The single is entitled Momoiro Sparkling and will be released on May 25th.

The name of the single is pretty much all we know about it for now. The title automatically makes me think of Momoiro Kataomoi by Ayaya. However, since C-ute has been releasing more mature singles lately I think the name is going to be the only similarity.
I’m actually really looking forward to this single. C-ute’s single’s lately have been incredible. Seriously, each single is better than the last. Except Campus Life ~Umarete Kite Yokatta~. I just try to forget that single exists. XD

C-ute-Iza! Susume! Steady Go preview

Yet another song preview from C-ute’s upcoming album Chou WONDERFUL6 has been released. This time it’s Nakajima Saki’s center song, Iza! Susume! Steady Go.

I was a little hesitant to listen to this song because I think Saki is the worst singer in C-ute. But I was pleasenty surprised by how much I love this song. The song has fairly heavy rock beat mixed with an almost electronic beat. But what really makes this song fun to listen to is all the voices in the background. Like the “iza susume, iza susume tsuppare” and the chants on certain words instead of average haromonies. And the chorus parts that go “Wow, wow, wow happy” are also an awesome addition.
And I think this song is actually the perfect choice for Nakky because it actually compliments her voice beautifully. Her tone blends together seamlessly. And even though it’s a Saki center song you can still hear the other girls pretty evenly, while still being able to tell it’s Saki’s song. Besides Saki I think Airi, Chisato, and Maimi are completely rocking this song. Overall this is the absolute best song so far. Sorry Midnight Temptaion, you’ve been replaced. XD

C-ute-Midnight Temptaion preview

Another full song radio rip for C-ute’s upcoming album Chou Wonderful! 6, was released recently. This time it was the song Midnight Temptation. I know this preview has been floating around for few days now, so sorry for just getting to it now.

I have to say out of all the songs we’ve heard from this album so far this is hands down my absolute favorite one! This should have been used as the opening song, forget Chou Wonderful. The music of this song is incredibly. It’s following the feel of Kiss Me Aishiteru. The music is very intense and danceable. I’ll be looking forward to seeing this song in concert. And since this is a group song the line distribution is completely fair. Also, what I can understand of the song sounds good. Of course that’s only like 1/3 of it. But so far it sounds good. XD

C-ute-3ban hoomu 3ryoume preview

Another song from C-ute’s upcoming 6th album, Chou WONDERFUL!6, has just been released. The theme of C-ute’s new album is there will be no solo songs, instead each girl will be a center of a song. The song that was released is 3ban hoomu 3ryoume, and is Yajima Maimi’s center song.

The beginning of the song where the music skips reminds me of another H!P song, and I can’t for the life of me remember which one. And it’s like eating me up! But that’s neither here nor there. The song itself is pretty mid-tempo, but is still too soft for my taste. This is the second album song to be released and I’m really not won over by this album yet. And I didn’t think it was possible but the chorus is slower and softer than the chorus. It’s actually worse than the verse. Which is not a good thing. The chorus defines the song, and with this definition I’m just not feeling it. Don’t get me wrong, the song it’s absolutely terrible. It’s just painfully mediocre and forgettable.
Also, this song is supposed to be centered around Maimi but instead the line distribution is almost fair. Maimi only has about 3 or 5 lines more then the other members. Which is hardly a center song in my opinion. SHOCK is a center song. Tokaikko Junjou is a center song. Most of C-ute’s song are Airi and Maimi center songs. This just doesn’t feel like one to me.

Here’s the preview.

C-ute-Chou WONDERFUL preview

I have just realized that I didn’t write anything about C-ute’s upcoming 6th album. I really want to be into C-ute, but I can’t seem to care anymore. Since Arihara Kana left C-ute my interest in them has been really falling. To where I’m at the point now were I hardly even care about them anymore. But that makes me incredibly sad, because before Kana left I used to like C-ute more than Berryz. But now Berryz Koubou has completely surpassed them. But now I’m going to take about C-ute because I know my readers are interested in keeping up with them.

On March 23rd Hello! Project group C-ute will be releasing their 6th album entitled, Chou Wonderful! 6.
The track list for the album is as follows:

1. Chou WONDERFUL!
2. Midnight Temptation
3. Kiss me Aishiteru
4. Iza Susume! Steady go
5. Ru ru ru ru ru
6. Wakaretakunai
7. Aitai Lonely Christmas
8. Circle
9. Dance de bakoon
10. San ban home, san ryome
11. Campus life ~ umare te kite yokatta ~

The radio rip for the album’s title track has just been released. The song has a rock beat, but it is soft enough that the music still comes off as being absolutely adorable. I really like the style the song is going for. It might not be as aggresive or danceable as Dance de Bakoon, but the music is still really great.
And since this is an album song the line distribution is pretty fair. The song is still lead by Maimi and Airi like it always is. But you do get to hear the other girls too. It’s mostly Chisato and Mai that you hear. Poor Saki I think I only heard one solo from her.
Even though I think the song is cute I think it’s actually pretty weak to be an opening for an album. C-ute hardly ever has strong album songs, so this is probably as heavy as this album will get. But I’m still looking forward to hearing the rest of the album. We’ll probably be getting more previews in the next week or so.

Also, you can buy their 6th album from CDJapan by clicking the links below.

C-ute-Kiss Me Aishiteru preview

The radio rip for C-ute’s 15th single, Kiss Me Aishiteru, has just been released. About a week ago a low quality concert rip was available to listen to. But I have been resisting the urge to listen to it until a high quality version was available. Just like what I’m doing with Kikkawa Yuu’s other songs.

The music to this song is really intense sounding, it is literally almost hypnotic. It also sounds like when DJs make a techno remix of popular video game music. Which gives it this awesome danceable sound. I’m glad after releasing SHOCK and Dance de Bakoon they keep releasing dance music and aren’t just jumping from different style to different style.

I absolutely love the way they say ne a million times. It reminds me of Berryz Koubou’s Special Generation, except done a lot more. But I honestly think this effect would be better used on a group with more than 5 members. Because it’s a little boring to hear 15 nes split between 5 people. I also love how sultry the song sounds at the chorus. The kiss me and catch me etc parts remind me of Goto Maki’s Some Boys Touch. The song even has echo parts like Some Boys Touch. Granted Some Boys Touch is like a hundred times sexier sounding.
The song is also very Okai Chisato heavy. The song is basically Maimi, Airi, and Chisa lead. They seem to really be pushing Chisa lately. I guess after the success of her dance covers they realized she really does have popularity. Even though it is really cool to see someone else get pushed up front for a change Mai and Saki are getting shafted a bit. Maimi, Airi, and Chisato are singing practically double lines as them. But I guess this is Chisa’s answer to the Mai centered Bye Bye Bye. So, does this mean eventually we’ll get a Saki centered song? I completely hope not. XD

Okai Chisato to release first digital single

Since uploading her own dance videos on C-ute’s official Youtube channel, C-ute member Okai Chisato is releasing her first digital single, LOVE Namida Iro, on iTunes. Which is more commonly know as Matuura Aya’s 3rd single. It seems like she’s finally getting noticed by H!P and UFA.

This has been a good couple of months for one of H!P’s favorite underdogs. She’s releasing her first photobook and DVD, and now she’s releasing her first digital single. Digital single or not, this is the first solo single by any C-ute member. Even though she’s one of my least favorite H!P members I am extremely happy for her. She’s always shoved in the back, so I’m glad she’s getting a little bit of attention. Even if it is only for a brief moment. I also always did like her voice. It was unique and probably one of the deepest in H!P currently.
I think Chisa picked the absolute perfect song as her solo song. She has basically the same pitch and tone as Ayaya. When I listened to Chisato singing it for a split second I thought it was Ayaya. So Chisa did an amazing job.

Here’s Chisato singing and dancing to LOVE Namida Iro.

And for fun, here’s the original.

All I want for Christmas is C-ute

The PV for C-ute’s 14th single, Aitai Lonely Christmas, has just been released. Well, not just. But this is certainty the first time I’m watching it.

Some people could argue that this PV is boring. And I can understand why they would think that. I mean it basically is H!P’s go to formula. Except since it’s a slow song there’s not even a dance this time. But honestly, I absolutely love the PV. I love that it’s simple and elegant, without being overly simple. I also love the PV because it’s exactly how I expected it to be. So I pretty much couldn’t have asked for a better PV. It’s Oujisama to Yuki no Yoru meets Shiroi Tokyo. (Which I think I might have mentioned 3 times now. XD)

How cheap, that’s obviously a dollhouse.

Airi is the only one who actually looks lonely.

  This angle is really awesome.

  Chisa looks super pretty.

  And so does  Mai.

This PV is so much like

Oujisama to Yuki no Yoru.

  These closeups reminds me of

  Shiroi Tokyo.

  Gorgeous.

  Hmm this looks familiar somehow.

Of course it does!

I love these scenes.

There are so many angles/scenes in this PV, it’s no where near being boring.

Airi looks adorable in that hat.

I’m such an idiot, I didn’t even realzie they were sitting in a sleigh the whole time.

I wish I knew what this said. Because this, あいたい, is aitai.

C-ute-Aitai Lonely Chritmas PV preview

A new CM for C-ute’s new single, Aitai Lonely Christmas, was released. As usual the CM is only roughly 30 seconds long, which is just long enough to get somewhat of a feel of the PV.

I have to say I am completely thrilled with what I’m seeing of the PV so far. I can’t believe it, but the PV is exactly what I envisioned of the PV, almost to a T. I wanted it to be a mix of Shiori Tokyo and Oujisama to Yuki no Yoru. And that’s exactly what the PV is like.
So far all we see in the commercial is C-ute sitting out side in the snow, in their adorable winter outfits. And then they show them inside of a house looking really, well, lonely. I am really excited to see the PV. C-ute’s been dropping the ball lately with their songs and PVs, I am pleasantly surprised how both the song and PV are amazing.

C-ute-Aitai Lonely Christmas preview

The radio preview for C-ute’s new single, Aitai Lonely Christmas was just released a few hours ago.

When I first heard the title of C-ute’s new single I was honestly expecting something along the lines of Shiroi Tokyo or Oujisama to Yuki no Yoru. I was also thinking it was going to be a slow wintry ballad. So I was a bit surprised how this song barely sounds like a Christmas song at all. And yet the song is completely what I was expecting it to be. A sound about being sad that you’re all alone on Christmas. And since I can understand the smallest fraction of this song seems to be about wanting to see someone but they don’t show up. At least I think it might be. My Japanese is pretty limited so don’t quote me on that.

Overall I’m actually surprised by how much I really like the song. The music is really good and the lyrics seem to be heartbreaking yet at the same time cute. This is also seems to be the most evenly distributed C-ute song ever. Of course Airi has the most lines, but she only has like 3 more lines. And every other girls has basically the same amount of lines. And what’s really surprising I actually really love Saki’s voice in this song. Her voice usually annoys me so much it is a little annoying at parts of this song but it’s not so over barring. And believe it or not I think Mai sounds the best in this song. Her voice just blends perfectly with the music.

Dance de LED

When the preview for Dance de Bakoon came out I fell in love with the song. I just completely thought it was super fun and cute. Like the music C-ute used to make. Because honestly their last 5 singles weren’t really all that spectacular. With the exception of Shock of course. And Bye Bye Bye has been growing on my recently.
That being said I had extremely high hopes for the PV. And the PV didn’t disappoint me. I actually think it’s a decent PV, with some good aspects to it. The dance is really cool, the girls look absolutely incredible, and the PV itself is a colorful explosion. But I don’t think it’s just not energetic enough. Their energy is at like a 60 or 70. But I want to see it at 100%! The dance is really the only super energetic part of the PV. Some of the close ups fall a little bit flat. Maybe I’m just being too picky about it. Still I think the PV is about a 6/10. Campus life was about a 3. It wasn’t even eventful to make a post about. So that tells you something is definitely right about this PV.

Well onto the PV.

When I first saw this is was like, “Oh no. This is going to be a mix of Dakishimete Dakishimete and Onna ge Medatte Naze Ikenai.”

Unnecessary boot close up. I don’t understand why PVs do pointless close ups of shoes. XD

That had does nothing for Chisa. It actually makes her look rather homesly. o_O

WTF are these abominations disguising themselves as PV oufits?

Ok, the ride em cowboy dance move is a little loltastic.

The worst Airi has ever looked. XD

Waracchaou yo Boyfriend! I just had to. XD

Maimi looks super pretty.

This is how Chisato should always look. Gorgeous!

Maimi’s cuteness in this PV is killing me. And lolz at Airi’s eyes closed.

Even Mai is looking cute. And she hardly ever stands out to me.

Facepalm!

Woah, some of these close ups are down right scary.

Wait, wait. So it’s really Dance de Bacoon?

Cute x2!

I cannot stop looking at Maimi during the PV!

And then Airi steals my heart!

Airi is love!

Reminds me of the Honto no Jibun dance.

Kinda creepy, but still kinda cute. XD

OMG! They did copy off Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai!

C-ute’s Dance de Bakoon! preview

The preview for C-ute’s 13th single, Dance de Bakoon!, is finally out. And when I say finally, I mean the radio rip is finally out. The concert rip has been out for a few days already, but I’ve been waiting for the radio rip. Mostly because I couldn’t really tell who was singing when in the concert rip.

After the utter disappointment of C-ute’s last single, Campus Life ~Umarete Kite Yokatta~, any type of song would have been an improvement. But I am happy to say that the song is absolutely incredible. The line distribution is really fair, each member had at least 3 solo lines. Which is awesome. I didn’t want to have another Shock type single.
But the song is going through an identity crisis. At some parts the music sounds like a mix of 321 Breakin’ Out!, Madayade, and Waracchaou yo Boyfriend. But other than that I love every part of the song. For the first time in a long time I’m actually looking forward to the PV.

H!P 2010 calendars

The cover’s for H!P’s 2012 calendars have been released. And let’s just say not all calendars are created equally.

Morning Musume’s calendar.

I know Morning Musume has been styled this way 1,000 times, but I love the cover. Everyone one just looks gorgeous. Especially Koharu, she has the best hairstyle hands down. My eyes were immediately drawn to her because she’s the only one doing an interesting pose. Everyone else looks kind of flat pose wise. I also think Aika looks amazing with that hair. They should always style her hair like that. Half of the time her hair is just straight or ugly. I would have liked to see them do something with LinLin’s hair, it just looks boring. I loved her curly hair from Naichau Kamo. In my opinion it should be curled. But, I think Sayumi looks great with just her straight hair. She’s one of the few people who look better with it down.
And for a random observation, why are Sayumi’s shoes different? Ai, Reina, and Koharu are all wearing the same shoes, but Sayumi is wearing a differen and uglier shoe. I thought Aika was the one who supposed to wear different shoes.

Berryz Koubou’s calendar.

I have to admit I am a fan of the tux/bartender outfits. I don’t usually like when H!P members where suits, with an exception to Buono and Risa. But overall I think they look really cute. And surprisingly my eyes were drawn to Risako, Chinami, and Yurina. Well I was drawn to Yurina for obvious reasons. Chinami is the only one smiling on the cover who actually looks believable. Everyone else’s looks forced. Especially Miyabi’s, it kind of looks like she’s in pain. As for Risako, I’m not exactly sure why I keep looking at her. She looks about the same as she always does.
I think the background for this is a little simple looking. It looks like something I could makes on photoshop. Which is saying a lot with my limited skills. Simple or not, it does look cute. It brings a nice splash of color to it. Without the rainbows I think everyone would have ended up looking washed out.

C-ute’s calendar.

It’s C-ute’s bus tour 2010! ._. I can’t be the only one out there who think these outfits look similar to C-ute’s bus tour outfits. I know this one is stripped and the other one was houndstooth, but the color scheme makes them look very similar.
There’s not really much going on that I like. This calendar looks bare. Losing 2 members doesn’t really sink in until you see a picture like this. The calendar and group looks empty now. I miss Kanna’s cuteness to make it look more lively. Well Airi looks cute, that’s about the only thing this calendar has going for it. The only thing C-ute has.

ManoEri’s calendar.

It’s yet another picture of Erina in a school girl uniform. Yeah I understand she’s kind of cute, and she looks cuter in her school girl outfit. But should that really be the only thing she ever wears? This cover looks exactly like the cover of her first major single. I’m not going to even pretend I know the name of it. XD
I’m pretty sure it’s the same exact outfit. Boring! Next! I wish there was a next.

EVERYDAY Zekkouchou preview

C-ute’s 10th single, EVERYDAY Zekkouchou!, is being released September 13th. The entire song preview was released a few days ago.

I was actually a little hesitant to listen to this song, because it’s the first single with Kanna officially gone. Without Kanna, C-ute might as well not exist to me. But I decided to listen to it anyway since it’s Erika’s last song.

For those of you, myself included, who were expecting an overdose of Erika in this song prepare to be disappointed. Does Erika even get a solo line in this song? If she does it was so brief I missed it. Leave to H!P to worry about money so much that a graduation member can’t even get a decent solo. The one single that will forever be synonymous with remembering Erika in C-ute, and you can’t even hear her! Poor girl, she could never get a break.

Everday Kekkouchou as a whole is bland. It really does have that random album song feel. There is nothing special about it. The music has a mellow b-side feel, and the singing isn’t even energetic. And of course it has the standard C-ute line distribution. Airi and Maimi featuring C-ute. I can’t find anything I like about it.

C-ute seems to be lacking things lately. And it actually has nothing to do with Kanna. C-ute’s recent songs seem to be pretty much misses all around lately. Forever Love was their last single I liked. It’s almost like H!P doesn’t put any effort into them anymore. Which is really sad. It looks like Erika picked the perfect time to leave C-ute.

Berryz Koubou and C-ute’s inevitable fate?

With C-ute members Kanna and Erika leaving/gone it made me really wonder the fate of not just C-ute, but of Berryz Koubou as well.

C-ute has lost two members in the past month. Bringing their well put together and stable seven member group down to just five. Now I thought C-ute looked lacking when Kanna was absent from their last two singles. But I can’t even imagine seeing C-ute with Erika gone too. I can’t imagine how C-ute is going to come back from this. Kanna and Erika weren’t exactly vocal powerhouses, but they were still good singers. As C-ute is now with just five members, they aren’t strong enough vocally.

Mai and Chisato are mediocre singers, but Saki is borderline terrible. In my opinion of course. Airi and Maimi will be forced to carry the group even more then they are now. Let’s take C-ute’s single Bye Bye Bye. It basically shows C-ute’s currently line up because Erika only got one solo line anyway. New C-ute will focus on Airi, Maimi, and Mai, with Chisato and Saki as backup. Just like in Bye Bye Bye. However I think this song is really lacking, and I’m also not looking forward to hearing more Saki. They can’t distort her voice forever.

I seriously think they should add a few more members to C-ute. It would be the smart thing to do. Kanna was an Egg and everything turned out fine for her. Sure she faded to the background, but if they choose one of the most popular Eggs it could increase C-ute’s sales. With C-ute as it is they will fall even further behind the shadow of Berryz Koubou.

Being realistic here, it’s pretty safe to assume that new member won’t be added to C-ute. But I would still like to know where that leaves C-ute? Is the pull of Airi and Maimi strong enough to keep the heartbroken Erika and Kanna wota?

It might seem like I’m overreacting or thinking way too much here because Morning Musume graduates members all the time. However, Morning Musume also gets fresh new members to replace them months before the actual graduation. But Berryz Koubou and C-ute depend solely on the members they have. Which is why in the entire time they were groups only one member graduated officially, Maiha. And now Erika. And even though it’s years away, eventually all the members will want to graduate. Whether it’s to continue their studies or find a better career path, within or without H!P.

So what happens to Berryz and C-ute? What happens when the popular members want to leave? They have nothing to fall back on because the Hello Project Kids didn’t follow Momusu’s design. Which was good for the time, not to be seen as a younger carbon copys of Morning Musume. It’s even good for the time being while all the members are young and want to be idols. But what happens when thy get too old? Does C-ute and Berryz Koubou just disappear forever?

I always took this as the Hello Project Kids main design flaw. As it is H!P can’t make it without C-ute or Berryz Koubou. Without them they would be left with just Morning Musume, short lived subunits, ManoEri, and S/mileage. Which would be a catastrophe, since Berryz Koubou, C-ute and Buono have almost been surpassing Morning Musume. With the Berryz award in Korea, C-ute in Hawaii, and Momusu’s Kohaku snub. They managed to create a following almost as large as Morning Musume’s. And when they leave they’ll be taking a significant amount of the fanbase with them.

Now, I don’t mean to rain on anyone’s H!P Kid’s parade, but you still have to wonder what’s going to happen to them in the future. And if this really is Berryz Koubou’s and C-ute inevitable fate. With the H!P Elder Club graduation a few months back, after a certain amount of time they might be forced to break up anyway. To make room for younger solo artists and groups. To keep H!P’s newly fresh and young image.

C-ute loses another member

It was announced at H!P summer concert that C-ute member Umeda Erika will be graduating from C-ute on October 25th. Erika is leaving to become a fashion model. Hello!Project’s official site also has some official announcement. But your Japanese is probably as good as mine.

Becoming a fashion model? Am I the only one who expected Yurina to leave for that reason? I mean, the girls got the height. I know Erika is tall too, but Yurina is a few inches taller than her. It also seems like she’s not the only one who wants to bang JE boys. Since those JE boys love their models.

I really wish I could say that I was sorry that she was leaving. Heck, I’m not even upset that she’s leaving. Much like Kanna Erika was shoved into the back, never really getting her chance to shine. Except for that one random solo song she got on C-ute’s 3rd album. Even though Kanna was in the background, she was still engaging and entertaining. But Erika pretty much bored me to tears. I never saw anything special or amazing about her. I didn’t really even like her voice. I guess I know how all the people who didn’t care Kanna left feel.

I’m also concerned where this will leave C-ute. I know they didn’t lose anyone that puts the group in danger of failing, like Airi or Maimi. Since C-ute’s debut they have lost 3 members, making C-ute now a quintet. Does this mean C-ute will be adding new Egg members? Personally it seems like they should. Losing 2 members in 2 weeks makes C-ute a little bare, and lacking something. This would really be the perfect time to do so. They have the room, and besides Maimi, the members of C-ute haven’t even hit 16 yet. If they added new members now they would be able to pick up a fan base over the years. Most likely C-ute will be a group longer than Berryz Koubou since the member a years younger then them, with the exception of Risako.

Anyway, like I did for Kanna I thought I’d post some of my favorite Erika singing moments. Except I don’t really have any. So all my favorite moments are only because of other members, and she’s kinda there as an after thought.

I like this for Kanna, but Erika doesn’t sound that bad.

I like this performance for Yurina, but I think Erika actually sounds great during it.

I do think Erika is really pretty. I hope she does good in the modeling world. Maybe she can be a model turned actress, like so many models do. Good luck Erika!

Arihara Kanna leaves Hello!Project

It was announced today that C-ute member Arihara Kanna is leaving Hello!Project. A statement was released on H!P’s Official Site. You can read the translation of this statement on H!O.

This is the worst news that I could have ever hopped for. As soon as I read the article about Kanna leaving I immediately started to cry. Even now it’s hard to write this post.

Now if you read my H!P 2009 poll post, you’d know that Kanna is not only my favorite member of C-ute, but she’s my 2nd favorite H!P member period! And the main reason I listen to C-ute.

Kanna was incredibly sweet, she was always smiling and happy. She always worked hard to become a better member of C-ute, even though she was in the background. She was really close to everyone in C-ute, especially Airi. Though they would poke fun at her a lot. Aika even mentioned during one of the H!P concerts she became good friends with Kanna. She had a really good voice, my 3rd favorite in C-ute, but she was never given the chance to really show it off.

Even though I had my suspicions of Kanna leaving C-ute, I never thought she actually would. I wrote a few months back about my concerns about her return. I really hate that I was right.

According to
H!O there were other things in play that ultimately made Kanna leave C-ute. There was a rumor that Kanna had a boyfriend. Who was no doubt Johnny’s Jr member Hashimoto Ryosuke, that Kanna was caught with last July in Bubka magazine. They also state that new scandalous Kanna image came out a week ago that put UFA in a tough position. Well I have a few problems with both of those reason.

Kanna was caught with Hashimoto Ryosuke a year ago, and no repercussions happened then. It doesn’t really make sense to punish Kanna almost a year later. There’s also Miyabi’s rumored boyfriend. There was video of Miyabi with him, and yet nothing happened to her. Everyone thought Kanna was in the background enough for everything to blow over. And it did, but all of a sudden it’s not ok. That makes no sense to me.
And these new pictures that surfaced of Kanna roughly last week ago, where are they? I’ve never even heard of them till today. If they really surfaced why aren’t they in tabloid magazines, why doesn’t anyone have these photos. And just what action would be enough to kick her out of C-ute? Smoking or drinking? Well if Kanna is guilty of this or anything else I want to see the pictures. Aibon’s smoking scandal was posted all over the place, but Kanna’s is no where to be found. There was even clear pictures of Megumi with her boyfriend.

I have a lot of frustration and sadness about this. What makes it even worse is Kanna won’t even get a graduation or any kind of formal goodbye. I understand that if you have a boyfriend or scandal, you don’t get a graduation. Just like Aibo, Megumi, and Miki didn’t. But Kanna left unexpectedly in February. She’s been gone for months, everyone waited with baited breath for her return. But she gets nothing.

This is just really sad. Kanna is going to fade away forever, just like Megumi did. I doubt she’ll ever make a comeback. It’s just not fair. All she did was have a boyfriend. Aibon and Kanna both left, they were some of my favorite members. I’m starting to really get fed up with H!P and UFA. I don’t even think I’ll bother listening to C-ute anymore. But that’s probably just my emotions talking.

Here are some of my favorite Kanna performances.

Sweeeets→→→Live is my favorite C-ute song. Kanna shined in it so much.

Kanna looked absolutely adorable during this performance of Everyday Yeah! Kataomoi.

I always liked the song JUMP because Kanna got a decent amount of lines.

My favorite Kanna FC solo event. She has such an amazing voice.

This will probably be the last post I ever make about Kanna, and that breaks my heart.

Just how hurt is Kanna?

As most of you already know C-ute member Arihara Kanna took an indefinite hiatus due to needing foot surgery. But as it get closer and closer to the time Kanna was expected to come back, there is no official announcement of her return. Even though she was expected to return in June, Kanna is absent from C-ute activities through September 27th. This makes me wonder just how serious her condition is, and if she’s retuning to C-ute at all. Kanna went into surgery in February and it takes about 2 months to recover, so shouldn’t she be recovered already.

Here’s a list of things Kanna will be missing from: C-ute Concert Tour 2009 Spring ~A B ℃~ / Cutie Circuit 2009 ~Bye Bye Bye!~, C-ute summer concert, C-ute FC Tour in Hawaii, C-ute’s 9th Single Shochuu Omimai Moushiagemasu , and Hello!Project Champloo ~Happy Marriage Song Shuu~ .

Now that’s a pretty substantial list. It’s easy to understand why she’s going to still be absent from concerts and even the next single, since everyone heals differently. But why is she going to be absent from the H!P cover album? Most likely this album will be the same as Morning Musume’s Cover You, where no PV was filmed. There’s going to be no dancing involved and yet Kanna still can’t even lend her voice for it? I find that a little odd.

The only concert that doesn’t officially say 6 nin C-ute is the summer concert. Which gives me some hope that Kanna might actually be there. The summer concert starts in August. That would give Kanna 6 months to heal, which is roughly 3 times the usual healing period. If Kanna ends up not being at the concert, I’m not sure how good it will be for her returning. If she’s not up to performing then, I’m not sure she ever will be.

I’m starting to really grow impatient for Kanna’s return and I’m also thinking the worst. But Kanna’s birthday is next month, so maybe we’ll get some news then. Or at least a birthday shout out from the members.

C-ute covers Shochuu Omimai Moshiagemasu

C-ute will be releasing a new single in June. It will be a cover of the 70’s pop song Shochuu Omimai Moshiagemasu.

It seems like H!P is releasing a lot of cover songs lately. Pepper Keibu, Dschinghis Khan, and the entire Cover You album. And I’m a little curious to see what C-ute’s cover of the song sounds like. I’m not really a big fan of the original Candies version of the song, it’s just a bit too old fashion sounding. but I really did love SweetS version of the song. If C-ute makes their cover a little faster and happier I think the single could turn out to be really great.
Now the really exciting part of C-ute’s new single is that is being released in June. Which is the month that Kanna is supposed to return to her C-ute and H!P activities. And I am beyond excited for Kanna to come back. It really seems like H!P’s goal to have Kanna participate in C-ute’s next single. I really missed 7 nin C-ute. I can’t wait to see her back in fighting form.

There’s no actual preview of the song, but here’s SweetS’s cover so you can get an overall feel of the song.

C-ute says Bye Bye Bye to quality

C-ute’s 8th single, Bye Bye Bye, is being released April 15th. It will be their first release since January.

So, I’m here to give you a better late than never review. This time of C-ute’s new PV and song. Which came out about a week ago.

I actually really love the song. But I feel almost guilty about liking it. I think because Kanna’s not in it I shouldn’t like it as much as I do. I’m Kanna biased!
But the song is really good, I love the dance and techno theme the music has. The overall tempo of the song is a little bit on the slow side though. Even at the chorus it barely picks up.
The line distribution is another reason this song is awesome. Of course there’s still the overdose of the Airi/Maimi combo. But everyone else gets 3-4 solo lines. Which is nice for a change. Mai sounds especially great in this song. Her voice wsa just perfect for this song. But I really hate that on every Saki solo line they do that crackling effect to her voice. You can’t even really hear her voice. I know Saki isn’t the greatest vocalist of C-ute but come on every solo line. That’s a little harsh.

As for the PV, I think less than impressed would be an understatement. There’s just so many reasons it was a dud for me. First off, I absolutely hate the outfits. They are like futuristic race queen outfits. And the silver and pink combo reminds me of Nono’s Robo Kiss outfit.
The PV also focused way to much on the giant Bye Bye Bye screen in the background. I swear they did like 12 separate effects on the background. It’s not that important.
And the dance was just an absolute fail. Easily one of the worst and unimaginative H!P dances in a while. For the chorus they just throw their hands up in the air. They really just phoned in the dance.
The overall set is boring too. Take away the big flashing sign and what do you have really? Plain silver walls and a few lights off to the side. It makes it look like a dance shot rather than a PV.
Another thing I don’t like is the close up background. I don’t understand how Easter pastels match anything. The girls to look really pretty in the close up though. Especially Chisato, she blew me away.

Dramatic silhouettes

Mai trying to look sultry

Awkward dance #1. I don’t even know what’s going on

Airi saving the PV with her cutness but Mai is not amused

Awkward dance #2. Brush your shoulders off

Saki wants you to stop altering her voice

I have to admit I love those boots

Adorable Airi

Awkward dance #3. Finger waving good

This pic is just too cute

Awkward dance #4. Chorus Fail

When did Chisato get this pretty?

Gosh Maimi looks great

Awkard dance #5. What is this the cotton eyed joe?

Mai looks really mature. And I love her shirt

Erika’s face looks weird o_O

Saki looking bland

Awkward dance #6. WTF?

Chisato looks adorable

Saki and Mai is win and cute

More Airi cuteness

Awkawrd dance #7.

Awkward dance #8. It’s a point off!

Awkward dance #9. Now hug yourself

As much as I miss Kanna from the song and video, even she couldn’t have made it better. She just would have made it more watchable.

C-ute- Bye Bye Bye PV preview

My past few posts have been very JE centered but here’s some H!P news to break the theme. H!P released a short 15 second PV clip of C-ute’s latest single, Bye Bye Bye, available by cell phone download.

I kind of feel cheated out of a preview since we only get to see shadows of the girls. Which is a little frustrating if you ask me.
So far the PV looks pretty cool. It’s a little 80’s looking, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The flashing Bye’s in the background are a little gimmicky, that’s really my only complaint about the short preview.

It’s anyone’s guess when the PV will actually be out, but we can most likely expect it sometime this week. This little clip isn’t really going to hold you over until then, but it will have to.

Bye Bye Bye preview

C-ute’s new single, Bye Bye Bye, is being released a little over a month from now, and we already have the song preview. Thanks to Maimi’s radio show.

I’m really relieved to hear Kanna’s voice. However, she will not be on the single’s b-side, Go Go Go. Which is kind of sad. But the song is so amazing! It’s easily better than Berryz song. And it’s another dance song. There’s also some voice altering going on. Surprisingly I hear a lot of Mai in the song.
