Two different morning news shows have released PV previews for AKB48’s upcoming single, Flying Get. When I saw the covers for Flying Get a few days ago, I was completely underwhelmed and didn’t know what to expect from the PV. But I am completely surprised by how much I love the PV so far. The PV seems to be one giant fight scene. AKB48 in their Chinese inspired outfits are fighting bad guys and themselves. The PV just seems really itense and powerful. There’s a lot of intricate sword fighting going on and the girls flipping people on their backs as well as scenes with the members getting thrown and strangled. Overall the PV looks very interesting and excited. Miles better than the Everyday Kachuusha PV. And it seems like you get to see every senbatsu members. Not like Heavy Rotation where you only really saw the top 10 or so. The only really fault about this PV is the dance scene. The dance scene looks exactly like the live performances of this song. Which is a little boring in my opinion.
There is yet another 15 second commerical for KAT-TUN’s upcoming single, Run For You. I actually think this commercial came out the same day as the dwango one, but I think I just completely missed it. XD
Since this PV preview is only 15 seconds long we hardly get to see anything. But unlike the other PV preview that was nothing but dancing, this PV preview shows the close-ups. And everyone can take a sigh of relief that this PV will not become another Ultimate Wheels. The close-ups are a little confusing. I’m not exactly sure what’s going on in them. We see Ueda in a solid white room with tons of electrical equipment, and speakers. And also there’s a hospital looking bed in the background. In Maru’s close-up there’s only a hospital looking bed. And in the very beginning of the PV there’s this door that’s bolted shut. Which leaves only one conclusion, that KAT-TUN is either in a hospital or a mental institution. Which on the surface is a pretty cool idea. However, that storyline lost all it’s appeal when I remembered one thing: wouldn’t that theme be too much like N*SYNC’s I Dive Myself Crazy music video? And you know what, it competely would! I feel slightly embarrassed just thinking the 2 could have similar videos. XD
A 30 second commercial for Berryz’s upcoming single, Aa, Yoru ga Akeru, is beginning to air. Giving us fans yet another sneak peek at the PV.
Most of this PV preview is the same as the last PV preview. Where is shows Berryz Koubou singing on stairs à la the Very Beauty PV.But beyond that we also get to see the close-up scenes, where everyone looks absolutely gorgeous. And from that we can see that it seems like the PV is set in a mansion. Which is a nice setting actually. A big improvement from the Ai no Dangan set. Let’s hope they utilize the set to their full advantage. Because even though the setting is good, they could still mess up this PV. Like focusing too much on the stairs. XD
A TV show has just released a small preview of Berryz Koubou’s upcoming single Aa, Yoru ga Akeru. Small being the operative word here, the PV preview is only about 13 seconds long.
In that 13 seconds we don’t get to see a whole lot. All we see in Berryz sitting on stairs and singing the chorus. Which immediately made me flash back to their Very Beauty PV. There’s not really much else going on in the preview. Except the girls looking every bit as lovely in this PV as they do on the covers. Which is always a plus.
Universal Music Japan posted a 30 commercial for Passpo’s upcoming 2nd single ViVi Natsu. After what felt like an eternity to wait, we finally get a sneak peak at the PV.
When I saw the PV for Shoujo Hikou I wondered what Passpo was going to do in their next PV. Since Shoujo Hikou was nothing but their flight attendant theme. Because of that I wondered what direction the next PV was going to be. Was it going to be their group theme again, or something completely different? Well, I can honestly say that the ViVi Natsu PV is so far from what I was expecting. Half of the PV shows them dancing in their flight attendant inspired outfits and the other half of the PV shows them lounging around a pool and I think in a bathtub. Even though this song is about summer I was not expecting Passpo to be bikinis at all. It seems like ever idol group thinks they have to do a bikini PV just to keep up with AKB48. SUPER GIRLS just had their bikini PV recently. I don’t know, when I think of Passpo I just don’t think of bikinis. But I guess not all idol groups can have summer themed PVs without bikinis like Momoiro Clover did with their Coco Natsu PV. But I’m pretty ok with the whole theme because it’s just like SUPER GIRLS’s Max! Otome Gokoro, where it was all done in a playful manner. And besides that, Natsumi and Mio look amazing in their bikinis.
The PV previews for Kis-My-Ft2’s debut single, Everybody Go, have just been released. I really wanted to say finally been released, but it actually has been that long. The PV previews came pretty quickly. With nearly a month to the release date. There have been times when the PV previews are only released a week before the release date.
I’m not really liking the look of the PV so far. The PV is just too dark. The whole setting of the PV is shot in a room of glass with this sort of blue, club lighting. And the PV actually kind of hurts my eyes a bit. It’s probably because of the constant flashing lights. Despite not being too happy about the lighting the PV does look kind of expensive. Johnny’s always seems to have fairly high budgeted debut PVs. The PV has 3 different sets, and 2 different outfits. And luckily only 2/3 sets have super obnoxious and unnecessary flashing lights. Probbaly the best part of the PV is their close-ups. Mostly because they double as close-ups and what looks like dance solos. Which is actually pretty cool. At least it’s a little bit different then the same old dance shot and close-up formula. But the one thing I do hate is that they have to be roller skating in this PV. I know that’s their “thing”, but I can’t stand it. It’s just silly, and not in a good way. I get serious secondhand embarassment every time I see them rollerskating. I still also don’t like that there’s practically no one is Kisumai that’s overly attractive. Taisuke is a little bit cute, but he ruined his hair for Ikemen desu ne. Yuya kind of looks cute in this PV. But that’s most likely because of the intense high quality lighting. Well, that and the fact that they keep shoving him in your face every 5 second. I still think Kisumai pretty much look like trolls. Call me shallow all you want. It’s the truth. Johnny should send them back to Nilbog already. Oh and, brownie points to anyone that actually gets that reference. XD
A PV preview for S/mileage’s upcoming single Uchouten Love has been released. As well as a low qulaity preview of the full version via S/mileage’s USTREAM show. I will only be commenting on the 30 second commercial, because I want to wait for a high quality version of the PV before I watch it.
I’m a little dissapointed by how cheap and low budget the PV looks. S/mileage’s PVs have always been low budget, but I think this is their cheapest PV yet. They are pretty much dancing on a small stage with the words Love behind them in giant letters, which is pretty boring. And the set itself reminds me a lot of V-U-DEN’s Aisu Kuriimu to my Purin set. They are both pretty small sets, with floor level lights in front of a curtain. And the group close-ups remind me way too much of the group close-ups in their Otona ni Narutte Muzukashii PV. I’m also not the biggest fan of the dance. Since the song sounds a lot like eurobeat I was expecting a para para influenced dance. However, that’s not the case. Instead we have a pretty below average idol dance. The only aspect of the PV i don’t have complaints about are the girls themselves. They look completely adorabel. Especially Saki and Yuuka. I think Saki looks the best yet again in this PV. You know, I used to really dislike Saki. Now anymore she’s the member I notice first. She has just been looking super adorable and pretty lately. I also love in this PV that there are still some goofy moments that make S/mileage, S/mileage. The weird ways they approach the mic, and the randomly playing with balloons. It’s utterly adorable.
The PV preview for SDN48’s 3rd single, Min.Min.Min, is out. And of course it has to be a minute and a half to spoil the surprise of the PV.
My reaction to the PV preview can be summed up in 5 words, “what did I just watch?” The main focus of this PV seems to be the dance scenes, like it is in most idol PVs. Hoever, the dance shot for this PV is hardly ordinary idol fare. The members of SDN48 are dancing inside of a giant cage. If that wasn’t odd enough, they are also doing so while sporting some shiny silver beetle/insect wings. Which doesn’t even begin to make sense. When SDN48 was wearing wings in the Min Min Daho energy drink commercial I though it was a little odd. But never in a million years did I expect them to wear them in the actual PV. It’s just completely bizzare. And definitely WTF of Lol worthy. However, that initial reaction only lasted for a minute or two. After that I had the strange feeling that I has seen this all before. And then it dawned on me. That aspect of the PV is a complete rip off of Miley Cyrus’s Can’t Be Tamed video. But instead of a bird creature, they are bugs. (I’ll go more into the similarites most likely in my PV review.) And after I realized that SDN48 was copying that off of Miley, their whole bizzare, what am I looking at, quirky schtick was pretty much lost. The rest of the PV preview just shows the girl’s close-ups, where they are sitting on the cage. And actually I wouldn’t mind if the whole PV was one giant close-up. The girls look super gorgeous in those black outfits. With their sexy, flowing hairstyles, and their smokey eyes, they just look to pretty for words. Seriouly phenomenal. This is probably the prettiest they’ve ever looked in a PV.
A morning show has featured a PV preview for Watarirouka Hashiritai’s upcoming single Hetappi Wink. Some of this clip is filled with Watarirouka Hashiritai7 talking, and all some random making of the PV footage. So, that brings the PV preview down to about 30 seconds. Which is actually perfect. Because like I’ve said before, anything more than that and it ruins the surprise.
Now since I wasn’t really too impressed with the song, I was half expected to be just as underwhelmed with the PV. Luckily, I actually really like the PV. It is a little bit only cheap and simple side, but it’s absolutely adorable. But this is Watarirouka Hashiritai7. They could be just standing there the entire PV, and I would still think it was adorable. The main theme of this PV is behind the scenes of making a commercial. I’m not really impressed with behind the scenes PVs since they are a dime a dozen. Kitahara Sayaka’s Yappa Seishun PV just had a similar kind of PV. However, the way that they are doing the behind the scenes theme is this PV makes it interesting. And it really does work for this PV. It seems that Mayu has to wink for some product that she’s selling. But she just doesn’t seem to know how to wink. So, most of the PV so far shows Mayu trying to learn how to wink. No doubt at the very end of the full length PV she’ll wink for the first time. It’s pretty cute since the song is about winking to focus on that. But I’m not sure there are too many people in the world who can’t wink. But I do remember my friend’s British grandmother telling me it was impolite to wink in England. So, she literally couldn’t/didn’t know how to. I guess it is possible then. XD The PV is cute but I think the dance scenes ruin it a bit. Not because the dance is simple, because it is. But Watarirouka Hashiritai always has really simple dances. The dance set itself is what makes this PV look so cheap. The set itself is cute. A checked floor with a very Italian looking garden. With very pretty climbing roses. Which is fine and dandy looking, but only close up. When the camera zooms out and pans the entire dance set, you can see just how cheap the set is. It’s just obviously fake looking. Like you can make out where the top of the set ends. However, since the PV has a behind the scenes theme they might have actually been going for that kind of look. But I think it’s still pretty lazy on their part.
Avex’s official youtube channel has posted a commercial for DiVA’s upcoming 2nd single Cry. The commercial is about 30 seconds long and is the first time the fans get to hear the song.
I really had high hopes for DiVA to become my favorite AKB48 sub-group. They are the best singers in AKB48, and after watching the little bit of AKB48 shows I’ve watched I’m starting to really like Sayaka. I wasn’t really impressed with Tsuki no Uragawa all that much. Lyric wise the song is beautiful. Singing and music wise, it was pretty lack luster. The music was too soft and the singing was too bland. They didn’t use their full singing potential. However, in this song that’s not the case. During the chorus we get to hear some fairly high and powerful notes sung beautifully. I mean, the notes are held seamlessly. And we get to hear each member have a solo line. At least I think, I’m like 80% sure the last solo in the commercial was Ayaka. Even though I am really excited that we finally have some high notes in a DiVA song, I’m not really impressed so much with the song itself. The song is basically the same as Tuski no Uragawa. Except that the music it’s a fraction higher. I know that slow songs and ballads show off a singer’s vocal ability. But does that really mean that all the songs they release have to be slow? Not really. They could have a regular idol type of song but then hit some really high notes along the way or during the chorus. The songs also seem to be this tempo because DiVA is going with a more mature and adult image. Which is why I don’t really like mature idol groups that much. They’re boring. Mature and idol groups should never really be used in the same sentence. At least in my opinion. But there I go jumping to conclusions. This is only the chorus of this song, no one knows what the verse sound like yet. But I’m willing to bet it’s nearly the same as the chorus.
Now on to the PV. Wow, for being an AKB48 subgroup they release some pretty cheap PVs. At least the set for Tsuki no Uragawa was pretty, despite also being a cheap PV. But are they serious with the Cry set? They are dancing in front of a plastic tree! And the insanely bright setting of the dance space doesn’t fit with the tempo or theme of the song at all. The close-up shots don’t really get anymore cutting edge either. They are just standing in front of falling water. Which makes sense because the song is called Cry. But it’s been done before. Give us something new and exciting. However, the PV isn’t all bad. The girls look absolutely gorgeous. I love the military inspired outfits. The lighting makes them look practically flawless. And I love that the close-ups have their hair styled simple.
A PV preview for Itano Tomomi’s 2nd single, Fui Ni, has been released.
This PV seems to have a higher budget than Dear J did. Dear J was pretty much just a dance PV. Which I guess worked because it was a dance song. The Fui Ni PV on the other hand seems to have an actual storyline. The whole storyline of this PV seems to be that Tomomi is some sort of socialite. She’s dressed high end while being driven around, and they make point of flashes her diamond earings. And besides that she’s shoving her Juicy Couture bag in our face. I’m only 80% sure it’s a Juicy bag. It has the charm that they’re known for, and it looks like the charm is their label. You have no idea how much it’s eating me up that I’m not 100% sure what bag that is. XD Besides that socilaite aspect of the PV, the PV is filled with a lot of fanservice. Tomomi’s laying in a bed with her cleavage emphasized, suggestivly eating a strawberry, and with wet hair that eludes to her have taken a shower.
The PV looks pretty mediocre to me. I’m actually only looking forward to it for the fashion aspect.
The PV preview for Buono’s upcoming 12th single, Natsu Dakara, has just been released. Actually a full radio rip of the song has been released too, but I can’t find it on youtube. So, I’ve yet to hear the full song. Mostly because I don’t like donwloading things.
Coming after their last single, Zassou no Uta, which had some pretty rockish songs and awesome PVs this single is a little more tame. Both the song and the PV. Buono hasn’t released as song this clam since Take It Easy. Which was my least favorite Buono A-side to date. However, this song is a bit more upbeat than Take It Easy. Thank god. It actually has a more co.no.mi.chi feel. Where the song wasn’t 100% rock, but it wasn’t too soft. Natsu Dakara has a much lighter and softer feel than co.no.mi.chi though, but it’s similar to it in that sense. And also because of that I’m not that thrilled with the song. It’s not bad, but Buono has definitely done better.
While on the other side, I am completely in love with the PV. Because the PV is shot outside/by an open door, the girls are shot in this beautiful soft, natural lighting. Making them look absolutely gorgeous. And making the PV almost like one giant beauty shot. Other than the girls looking stunning, the PV itself is pretty simple. So far there doesn’t seem to be any dance shots. So the whole PV preivew is filled with the girls close-ups, standing in front of a door, and sitting on a couch. Which doesn’t really make for the most exciting PV ever. But my girls look amazing, and that’s really all I can ask for from an H!P, or pretty much any PV in general. If the PV was nothing but them fighting giant octopi, but they looked flawless doing it, I won’t really mind.
A PV preview for AKB48’s sister group NMB48’s debut single, Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shoujo, was just released. It’s yet another obnoxiously long PV preview that ruins the surprise. This one clocks in at nearly 2 minutes. Which is a little less then 2/3 of the PV.
Ever since I heard the radio rip I have been in love with this song. So, I was expeting a lot from this PV. However, those expectations weren’t really met. Nearly the entire PV so far is nothing but the girls surronded by rice paper doors. The dance scene is filmed in front of one, the close-up shots are filmed in front of one, and a member is even shooting an arrow surrounded by 8 or so of them. I’m also pretty dissapointed with the dance itself. Not because, it’s anawful dance or anything. The dance is find, it’s pretty much a standard idol dance. But when the song was first announced they said the dance was supposed to incorporate Kabuki elements. Now maybe I’m just not familiar enough with Kabuki, but I didn’t notice anything that remotely looked like Kabuki. The second half of the PV preview is significantly better than the firs thalf. It shows the girls wearing kimonos, which is always adorable. And we are also treated to a new dance scene. Where the girls are wearing pretty skimpy outfits dancing in front of a Japanes style painting. Which is a nice touch. Overall I’m a little dissapointed by the PV. Since it’s a song about being proud of your black hair, and being Japanse (I assume) I really wish they would have added more Japanese customs/traditions they should b proud of. Like kendo, origami, ikebana,a tea ceremony, etc. I really would have liked them to take the Japanese theme and just go all out with it. At the end of the PV they seem tobe doing calligraphy so maybe, just maybe, we’ll see more Japanese elements in the full version.
The official SKE48 youtube channel uploaded a short version of the PV to their upcoming 6th single, Pareo wa Emerald. The PV preview is 1 minute and 38 seconds, so we get to see about 1/3 of the PV. I actually hate when PV previews are this long. Maybe I’m alone on this, but I actually think anything more than 30 seconds ruins the surprise of the PV.
Since this single is being released in the summer and a pareo is a wraparound skirt that’s usually worn over a bathing suit. I think it was pretty obvious that this PV was going to feature SKE48 wearing bikinis. Most of the girls are wearing bikini tops and pareos, but some of the girls are wearing pareo tops and shorts. And since Matsui Jurina is one of them, I’m guessing it’s because only the young girls are being covered up. Which makes no sense because at the end of the preview it shows the members in full bikinis jumping in the ocean. It even seems like Jurina might also be wearing a full bikini too. Selective censorship for the win, I guess? XD
The PV is a little different than I expected it. I thought it was going to be very similar to Ponytail to Shushu, where the whole PV was basically dancing on the beach and close-ups. But I’m glad that this PV has more to offer than just dancing on the beach. To keep up with the 48 groups school girl theme, the rest of the PV is either filmed in a school or doing school activites. Such as watching male classmates play basketball and being part of the rowing team. However, since they are all running out of the school in the beginning, I think this is supposed to be what they are doing with their summer break. Which actually adds even more the the summer theme.
I absolutely adore the song and the PV seems really cute and summery. So, I’m happy all around.
A morning show has just released a PV preview for Hey! Say! JUMP’s upcoming new single Over. The preview is extremely brief, at only 30 seconds long. And because of that there’s probably a lot more to the PV than we are seeing. At least I hope there is.
At first watch, the PV looks completely simple and boring. Most of the PV preview shows the dance scene. The dance scene takes place outside, which I’m pretty happy about. Single there last PV was completely CG, it’s nice to see them in a real setting. It shows HSJ dancing on mirrored floor in front of 4 obelisk looking statues. Which makes no sense and is a little WTF worthy, since the song has absolutely nothing to do with Egypt. Also, I hate how the dance itself is set up. I can’t stand that my beloved Yuto is shoved in the back. Yeah, he’s actaully smack dab in the middle of the dance, but he’s still in the second to last row. Which I do not like at all. I mean, I actually confused him with Keito fro a second. That’s how bad his placement is. While I’m talking about the dances I have to say, I really love the outfits they are wearing. Since they are pretty much just regular clothes. But this is Johnny’s, you never know what hideous outfit they might be wearing in their PV. Just like the hideous dance outfits from their last PV for Arigatou ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~. Toward the end of the PV they also show the members on the phone. Which was obviously going to happen in the PV, because of the lyrics. But I actually thought that that was going to be the main part of the PV. It still very well could because the PV preview shows the PV from the chrous, not the beginning. But I don’t like how they are doing the phone scenes. They look happy and are passing the phone around. Which is a little harsh considering it’s supposed to be about ending things. Or at least the verse of the song is. The chorus is about staying together, which makes no sense. But I’m done with trying to figure out the lyrics. XD
With a little over a month until the release date of Momoiro Clover’s first single as a 5 member group we finally have a preview of the PV to Z Densetsu ~Owarinaki Kakumei~. The preview is 2 and a half minutes, and is more like a short version of the PV rather than a PV preview.
And I have to say just from seeing the PV preview I am in love with the PV. It is 2 and a half minutes of over the top, gooy, awkward, and pure WTF moments. The very elements that make me love MomoClo so very much. The PV seems to follow the lyrics of the the song, where MomoClo are weekend heroines, to a T. For most of the PV the girls are dressed in Power Ranger costumes. Which is absolutely amazing and perfect for the song. I wasn’t expecting them to be so literally with their PV. But Momoclo always does stuff like this, so I shouldn’t have been a surprise to me. The rest of the PV is filled with the members doing other idol type things. Like eating and hugging stuffed bears. But also random things that are prevalent in their PVs like being electrocuted and lifting up barrels.
I just find the overall PV to be adorable and hilarious. I can’t wait to see the full version. They are completely the female equivalent to Kanjani8.
With a mere 25 days unttil release date of no3b’s new single, Kuchibiru Furezu, we are finally getting to find out more about the single. No3b was recently promoting for Kuchibiru Furezu, and because of that we finally get a song and PV preview of this single. Both are extremely short, and most of the time the members speaking block both. But at least we’re getting this peak.
The song is very rock centric. The music is basically just a heavy guitar rift. The song is a little heavier than I was expecting. Even though it is the song is still basically power pop, it is a change from what they usually do. No3b doesn’t usually release songs that are cutesy and upbeat. Every once in a while they throw in songs like Lie and Kiss no Ryuusei. I have to say I do prefer their more obvious idol sounding singles. But this song isn’t bad either. It’s actually kind of cool. It reminds me of something Buono would do. I kind of wish we could hear more than the chorus though.
To match the song the PV also follows a darker theme. It seems the overall storyline is no3b’s as criminals. They are shown ransacking an office, pouring money out of a suitcase, and it even looks like Haruna has a knife strapped to her leg. But because it’s also a music video, and they have to sing at some point, it also shows the girls randomly jumping on tabels and singing. And also singing in a back alley. Which is a little awkwarrd with the whole apparent criminal theme. But I’m sure it will somehow fit in the actual PV better than what we’ve seen.
With less than a month until the release of Maeda Atsuko’s debut solo single, Flower, we finally have a preview of the PV. The preview itself is a mix of the actual preview of the PV and behind the scenes footage.
The PV actually looks like it’s going to be kinda sad. From what the PV preview shows it looks like Acchan is a single mother raising her daughter. But I kind of loose the storyline after that. The man featured in the PV leaves with a suitcase, which would obviously be her boyfriend or husband leaving her. But the man is like 20 years older than Acchan, and to me he seems more like her father than lover. The PV preview is also all over the place. It shows the man leaving, but then being a good father or grandfather to the child. It shows happy and fun times with Atsuko and her child and then it shows her struggling. And it also shows the man longing to be with the child. So, I’m not really sure in what order the actual PV is going to be shown in. But I think it’s going to be along the lines of the man leaving, then Atsuko struggling, then the man longing for the child, and then he comes back and everything is great. It will probably be that cliche. But it could also be the exact opposite, or just shown out of order. Kind of like remembering better times.
Regardless of how the actualy PV is set up, it looks like it’s going to be a sad PV. But also kind of heart warming. I like the PV so far. It makes me wish I knew what the lyrics of Flower where. I’m not much of a ballad person, but from the PV it seems like the song is really pretty.
With 20 days until the release of Kitahara Sayaka’s debut solo single, Yappa Seishun, a PV preview has just been released.
Now, I’m nto the biggest Sayaka fan. I actually don’t care for her that much. I also haven’t really been following this single. When the song preview came out I meant to blog about it, but just never did because I honestly didn’t care so much. But I figured I post about the PV preview anyway. Mostly because the song isn’t absolutely terrible. And Sayaka has improved a lot since her Milky Way days. The PV preiew is getting a lot of buzz among fans because former Morning Musume member Yossie is featured. She was obviously featured to help sell Sayaka’s single. But they might have picked Yossie because she was the captain of H!P’s futsal team and this PV has a soccer theme. I should probably be more excited that Yossie is featured in the PV, but I’m not really. She was never one of my favorite Momusu members. Add Koha or Kaori then I’d be excited.
Since this song is being used of Inazuma 11 anime, which is about soccer, this PV mostly focuses around soccer. Or at least what we see of the PV so far. The PV is also filmed in the back scenes perspective of things. Where you see the cameras, the lights, and the actual backdrop she’s in front of. Which I actually don’t really like so much. I think that effect has been over done. A lot of music videos from the US and Japan, (and probably the world) have used this effect to death. Idols have also used this effect before too. AKB48’s Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka, Nakazawa Yuki’s Tokyo Bijin, and to for a breif second Morning Musume’s Do It Now, have all done similar behind the scenes filming PVs. I guess they used that style because it makes a cheap PV seem more interesting, because you can obviously tell that this PV is cheap. Just look at the background during her puffy dress scene.
The best part of this entire PV is how beautiful Sayaka looks. Since I don’t follow H!P Eggs at all, I haven’t really seen Sayaka since her Milky Way days. She’s matured alot since then. It also looks like she’s lost some weight since then, making her face thinner and different looking. Sayaka actually looks very fresh and cute. Especially in the puffy dress. Which is an adorable dress by the way. It’s big and fluffy and really nice color and style. It’s sort of a throw back to Anataboshi or Boggie Train ’03.
With it getting closer and closer to the release date of Morning Musume’s new single, Only You, we finally have a PV preview. However, don;t get your hopes up because the preview is only 15 seconds long.
Even though the PV preview is insanely short it is long enough to get a tiny taste of what the PV is going to look like. The PV itself looks extremely bright. The contrasting shades of whites and silvers give this PV an extremely fresh, bright, and shiny look to it. And for that aspect the PV draws your eyes in. I do love the overall look of the PV because it just looks so bright and beautiful. However, there isn’t much going on in the PV so far. As of now all we get to see is Momusu dancing in a plain white room, which really hasn’t been done since the Sexy Boy PV. And of course we also get to see the close-ups. The close-up scenes are actually really nice. It’s just them singing around some shiny gems, but the effect is very beautiful. And it is a big step up from their usual close-up backgrounds.
So far, the PV seems to be relying more on the beauty aspect then an actual storyline. I’m actually kind of ok with that because everyone look gorgeous. I’m really looking forward to the PV. It looks like they might have actually spent some money on it.
With only about 2 weeks until the release until Berryz Koubou’s upcoming new single, Ai no Dangan, a radio rip and PV preview have been released.
Now, here’s a song I was in love with since the first listening. I’m not even sure why. The song is completely laid back. It only has a very slow slight rock instrumental. And it doesn’t even pick up or change it’s beat when the chorus hits. And it’s a huge step away from Heroine ni Narou ka’s intense music and big chorus. And yet, I still love the song, becasue despite it being a pretty clam song for some reason it still grabs my attention. Half because of how abolutely perfect every line is sung and half because the line distribution is awesome. Even though the song is mostly lead by Risako, Momoko, Miyabi, and Yurina, the rest of the members still get a good chunk of lines. The main singers only get about 3 more solo lines than the other members. Which could be better, but is actually pretty good. Especially comapared to what it could be like. Also I think Saki and Yurina completely killed in this song. It fir their voices perfectly. I also think Chinami sounds pretty good in this song. Usuall she sounds a little strained on her lines.
The PV preview is only about 22 seconds, but that’s long enough to see how horrible the PV is. The preview consists of Berryz dancing in tight red spandex suits, that look what Britney Spears wore in the Oops I did it again music video. Which is never a good look by the way. But not only are the outfits hideous the dance itself is terrible. It’s completely awkward with some of the worst dance moves I have ever seen. There’s this one butt shaking move that I guess was supposed to come off as sexy, but it’s so weird and awkward that it’s hilarious. If that wasn’t enough I think this might very well be the worst PV H!P has ever made. It just shows Berryz Koubou dancing on a plain black floor in front of panels that are flashing abstract designs. And that’s it! I seriously hope there’s more elements to this PV then just these dance scenes and close-ups. If not, this is going to be on horrible PV.
If you like what you hear, you can purchase this single from CDJapan.
With less than 2 weeks until the release of KAT-TUN’s new single, White, JE continues to string us along only now releasing the PV preview. Less than 2 weeks until the release date and we haven’t even heard the full rip of the song. Us fans might hate waiting this long, but apparently this marketing works as KAT-TUN continues to sell great. Not as good as with Jin though. But they still usually outsell my beloved NEWS.
I’m excited to see that this PV has some sort of storyline. I would be so angry if we had another mess like Ultimate Wheels. But there’s really not much going on the PV. Of course the PV has the pretty much standard close-up scenes. You can’t really make a PV without them. But what’s with Ueda wearing a hat yet again? Does he miss Jin that much that he feels the need to take over Jin’s “member that wears a fedora” position? Other than that in the close-ups Koki and Kame are looking fine as usual. The PV also shows them walking dramatically across what looks like a ship yard. Maybe it’s the awful quality or maybe I’m blind, but where they are walking, to me, totally looks exactly like the place where they shot their 2010-2011 calendar. I’ll have to wait for the full PV of course to be absolutely certain. The PV also shows random out of place cheerleaders who serve no purpose in the PV. And they are dancing on a football field. A for a brief second I had flashbacks of horrible H!P PVs. Campus Life ~Umarete Kite Yokatta~ and Seishun Collection, PVs better left forgotten. The rest of the PV preview if full of them randomly hanging out on top of a roof, as people usually do. I don’t know any college that lets you sit on the roof, but apparently you can in Japan. And it also shows the members of KAT-TUN walking through the school. And I’m going to sit here and pretend that the entire White PV isn’t a complete and blatant rip off of C-ute’s Campus Life ~Umarete Kite Yokatta~ PV. But it totally is. I am extremely disappointed by the obvious similarities of the two PVs.
A PV preview for AKB48 sub-group French Kiss’s upcoming single, Kakkowarui I Love You has just been released. The preview is only 35 seconds long, but it’s enough to get the overall feel.
The PV looks pretty much like I expected. Since the single isn’t featuring a drama like their previews singles have, this PV follows the standard idol PV formula. The only thing we see in this PV so far are close-ups, dance shots, and a scene of the 3 of them sitting on a couch. And that’s basically it. The background during the dance scenes looks like something Perfume would dance in front of. There a random shapes cut out on the floor in front on a line of circular lights. It has a very futuristic feel to it. Like it would be the inside of a space ship, which I think is really awesome. The background being so interesting on its own, does distract you from the fairly simple dance French Kiss is doing.
But since the PV preview is so short that’s basically the only comments I can make on the PV so far. There’s nothing else really going on. I mean, the girls of course look cute, especially Yuki, and the outfits are cute. But that’s pretty much all that’s going on for now. However, during the last second or two it does show Yuki bending next to a chair. Which seems like they are going to be mixing sexy elements in this PV along with the cute ones.
Despite their major debut single, Shoujo Hikou, being pushed back from April 6th to May 4th Passpo is stll going strong. And we finally have a PV preview for their major debut. It’s the first time we get to hear the song. We have heard it once before, but it was literally only for 5 seconds.
The song sounds pretty much on par with what Passpo was releasing while they were still indie. It’s rockish sounding, while still having that fun idol cuteness. The song is just a little less rock then their previous singles. But I’m sure that’s just to make sure their sound isn’t too bold it will scare off new fans.
I think what we see of the PV is absolutely adorable. Since it’s their major debut they finally are able to have a PV with some what of a storyline. And since they have the money to do so they really played with their
stewardess theme. The PV features them half the time on an airplane and the half half in an airport. Which I think is actually really awesome. But it makes me wonder what they are going to do with their next PV? I wonder if they are going to pull a Momoiro Clover and not really wear their theme in every PV. Only time will tell on that.
The only thing I think this PV is lacking is a better dance. The dance is pretty simple and nothing really to write home about. And even though I do think the parts with the luggage was a cute idea, it actually makes that part of the dance look a little awkward. But that’s really my only complaint about the PV. I mean the video is cute and the girls look great. I don’t think Mio could get any cuter and I don’t think Kaho could get any prettier.
The full radio rip and PV preview for S/mileage’s upcoming single, Koi ni Booing Buu, have been released.
When I first heard this song from the commercial for this single I fell in love with the chorus. And I’m still in love with the chorus. But after hearing the full version of the song, I am a little dissapointed. The chorus is the only part of the song that’s actucally good. The song starts out with really strong music. It’s the same cutesy music that S/mileage always releases. But with this single the music is a little heavier and a little rock sounding. I hear some real Buono elements in the song, while still having the distinct S/mileage sound. I am really in love with the music and overall sound of the song. But when the girls start singing that’s when I start to get a little dissapointed. The verse and bridge aren’t nearly as strong as the chorus. It’s actually a little bland. And if you didn’t know the voices of S/mileage you could easily mistake the song for C-ute or some other random idol group. The way it’s sung makes it sound a tiny bit similar to Shortcut. I really wish the energy and tempo of the chorus was heard throughout the song. All of S/mileage’s pervious singles have been strong both in chorus and verse parts. I’m a little sad that the verse to this song is missing that umph that their previous singles had.
The PV preview is only about 30 seconds longer than the commercial that aired a few days ago. The preview mostly shows the close-up shots, since it’s starts off right when the singing begins. The only thing in this preview that’s new is, it shows that they are wearing the pig ears and snots more than I expecting. Which is awesome, because I think they look beyond adorable in them. The PV is really interesting to watch. Despite it being relativly cheap. All the sign that match the lyrics make this PV really fun and cute. This is probably my favorite PV that H!P has released this year.
AKB48 subgroup DiVA, released a 30 second PV preview for their upcoming debut single Tsuki no Uragawa.
I gotta say, all around I’m a little dissapointed by this group. This group was supposed to be a vocal and dance unit, but they’ve let me down on both. They have some of the best singers in AKB48, and yet picked a song that didn’t show case their full talent. And now with the PV preview we get a preview of the dance, which isn’t all that impressive. But I should have expected that because it’s extremely hard to make an interesting dance with a slow paced song. The whole PV preview is nothing more than dance shots and close-ups. I really hope the full PV is a little more dynamic than that. But, there is something I do like about this PV, the set. I think the set is absolutely gorgeous. I love how it has a very dark setting, with different shades of dark blue. And the hanging lights and glittery backdrop give it this dark park a night sort of feel. And of course the pond of water in front of the adds a nice effect too.
On today’s Bijo Gaku episode they continued with the 9th gen segment and this time showed they a short making of the Maji Desu ka Ska PV as well as a minute and a half preview of the PV.
I have to say that I caved and watched the whole segment. I know when the short version of NYC’s Yume Tamago came out I make a big deal about watching it because it would ruin the PV. However, I couldn’t resist watching about Maji Desu ka Ska. Mostly because I am so in love with the song and what we have seen of the PV so far. But I will not comment on the preview of the PV because the full PV is going to be released any day now, and it would ruin my PV post. But I will say that I am even more excited for the PV. There seem to be more elements to the PV that us fans have never seen before, and didn’t even know existed. And I would also say look out for Fuku and Zukki. They are the most energetic and interesting during the filming. I was actually surprised by how lack luster Riho and Erina were. Especially, since she said how she wanted to be the most energetic one. Come on, no one could possibly beat Kanon. Well, that aren’t so lack luster that they are boring. Riho and Erina are enjoyable to watch but they Kanon and Mizuki stand out the most.
Here’s the full 9th gen segment, for anyone who wants to watch the whole thing.
Even though YuiKaori’s new single, Shooting Smile, isn’t being released for another month they’ve just released a PV preview for the song. The preview is a minute and 20 seconds long, and is more like a short version of the PV.
I absolutely love this song and am glad that we finally get to hear more than 30 seconds of it. The PV reminds me a lot of their PV for Heartbeat ga Tomaranai. Where it’s them dancing in a separate place, with their matching outfits, and then them running around town in their school uniforms. Granted that Heartbeat ga Tomaranai was filmed during the day, and had more of a storyline beyond that. I still think the two PVs are similar regardless. I do really like the oufits they are wearing though. Despite the fact that they are yellow, they’re cute. They actually kind of look like the Doublemint Twins in those dresses. XD I’m a little dissapointed by the dance. Dancing is usually YuiKaori’s strong point, their dances are always incredible. But this dance is too stiff and robotic. But at the end of the preview it alludes to the PV having a robot theme, so it most likely interconnects that way. But we won’t know 100% until the full PV is out.
With it getting extremely close to the release date of Morning Musume’s new single, Maji Desu ka Ska, CDTV has released a 12 second preview of the PV. It honestly looks like CDTV is just airing the commercial of Maji Desu ka Ska, but a preview is a preview.
This PV preview is a little bit different that the preview we saw on Bijo Gaku. This one shows the dance head on. And it also shows the girls and set more clearly. We also see the 9th gen in colored boxes in the beginning, which gives up a great hint at what the close ups are going to look like. It also shows the girls jacket colors better, which still makes me wonder if these are the new official colors. I would actually be happy if they were. Most of the colors are amazing. Only Risa’s and Reina’s suck. Reina has a white or cream color. And Risa has a auburn or light brown shade. Which I hope is supposed to be burnt orange. XD The PV does look a little low budget, which makes me sad. But the energetic song and dance brings the PV up a bit.
The full radio rip for Morning Musume’s upcoming single, Maji Desu ka Ska, was just released.
Hearing the full song, just makes me love the song even more. The beat, the singing, the lyrics, theirs just absolutely nothing I don’t love about this song. I have absolutely no complaints about the song. I have been waiting an eternity for Momusu to be upbeat again, and now that they are I am completely thrilled about it. I am also really surprised by how fair the line distribution is. I was expecting the 9th gen to only get 1 solo line. But every single Morning Musume member has 2 solo lines. Expect for Ai-chan and Reina who have 4 lines. Which is a huge step from their last single where basically only Ai, Reina, Risa, and Eri got the solo lines. It really feels like Morning Musume is going back to my favorite Morning Musume era. The era right after the 5th gen joined and right before the 7th joined. Where the songs were super upbeat and the line distribution was extremely fair.
On yesterday’s episode of Bijou Gaku, they continued their focus on the 9th gen and aired a short PV preview.
Most of the segment focused on th 9th generation learning the song, but half way through they were joined by the other Morning Musume members. And in that time we get to see nearly the entire dance. And I gotta say the dance look really amazing. The moves are simple, but the dance itself is high energy and a lot of fun. Watching the 9th gen dance Riho, Mizuki, and Erina are at an extremely high level in their dancing. They are nearly perfect. Kanon not so much. Even though she has improved so much since the auditions, her dancing is noticeably worse then the other girls. She can only kick half as high as the other members. But of course over time she will improve. Koharu went from being one of the worst dancer to one of the best, in my opinion. I am just really impressed by the dance. After the dissapointing Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game dance, I’m glad that this one is actually really cute. It was really nice to see how the other members interact with the 9th gen. Despite Ai-chan being the leader, Risa and Aika were looking over the girls the most. The best part of the whole dance was Aika and Kanon dancing together.
They are totally my top 2 in Morning Musume now. Mittsi has always been one of my favorites and Zuki is starting to be one of my favorites. She’s like my Koharu and LinLin replacement.
The PV preview is literally only 8 seconds long. And in that time we only see them dancing in nearly identical outfits as in the Naichau Kamo PV. And we see a close up of Erina wearing and outfit similar to the one Miyabi wore in the Maji Bomber PV. I can’t really judge the PV so quickly, but so far it does look cute.
