You’re probably already aware that S/mileage’s second major single, Ganbaranakutemo ee nende, release is just around the corner. (A month, just around the corner. Same difference) We also have some pretty decent sized pictures of the covers. And I am completely in love with the covers. S/mileage always hits it out of the park when it comes to covers. With the exception of Yume Miru 15sai. So, it was a no-brainer that this cover was going to be great too.
As you know I never waste an entire post for just covers being released, so on to the main point. The main point being Ayaka. I am completely blown away by how good Ayaka looks on the covers. It’s like all of a sudden her beauty snuck up on me. Like while I was looking all of a sudden she became gorgeous. It’s not like Ayaka was ulgy before. It’s just I never really paid much attention to her. My eyes are always glued to Kanon and Yuuka. And it’s weird because she looks exactly the same in Yume Miru 15sai. You can tell how I’m obviously biased. But since they took, what was probably garden clippers, to the gorgeous locks of my beloved Kanon my eyes weren’t immediately drawn to her. I swear Kanon’s hair is a travesty! XD Yuuka does look absolutely adorable on the cover, Ayaka just blows everyone out of the water. To me she just dominates the covers, and over shadows everyone else. I can just not get over how incredible she looks. But my favorite cover by far is the one in the black outfits. It’s just too cute. Even though they look like they’re going to break out into tap dance any minute, I love it.
Here are the other 3 covers for anyone who is interested. I want the PV to be released right now!
Hello!Project has formed a new anime centered unit called Lilpri, for the anime “Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri. The unit will consist of newly major debuted S/mileage members Fukuda Kanon, Wada Ayaka and Maeda Yuuka. Their debut single, Little Princess, will be released June 16th. On top of singing the music they will be pulling a Kusumi Koharu and will also be voice acting in the anime.
Am I the only one a little disappointed by the group members? I love S/mileage and all, and Yuuka and Kanon are my favorites. But I was expecting to see some Egg members. When I heard about the announcement I though, “Great, I wonder what Egg members will be picked.” Small groups like this are the perfect place to showcase the Egg’s talents. And for people like me who don’t pay attention to the Eggs at all, to find out about the amazing H!P members you didn’t even know existed. Like with Yuuka and Kanon. I instantly fell in love with Yuuka in High King, and I instantly fell in love with Kanon. This is why the Eggs never do anything in H!P. Tsunku focuses on a few girls, and you never stop seeing them. What about using Saho Akari for this group? She rocked in Yume to Genjitsu. And she was already shafted from being in S/mileage, it seems she was shafted again.
But, I guess I can stop complaining about S/mileage’s line distribution now. If I don’t get my Kanon fix from S/mileage I can listen to Lilpri. But since this group features 3/4 of S/mileage I doubt it’s going to last that long. Anime units don’t last that long, and this unit isn’t really a new unit. Why bother using 3/4 of S/mileage? They should just have S/mileage sing the themes for this anime. That’s essentially what they’re doing anyway. But I guess H!P did this as a strategic move. Shoving 3/4 of S/mileage into a new group gives S/mileage itself double the exposure and double the fans. Now not only will wota love S/mileage but the little kids watching the anime too. Just like with Kirarin Revolution.
I do love the outfits though, they’re really cute. But Kanon’s seems out of place. Yuuka looks like Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Ayaka looks like Snow White, and Kanon looks like she just happens to be wearing a kimono. Unless she’s supposed to be modeled after Princess Kaguya. That’s the best guess I have. And Kanon looks absolutely adorable with that hair.
However, I am not a fan of the song at all. It’s just way too childish for me. I’m 18 years old and this song is obviously geared to a 7 year old. Kirarin Revolution was geared for little kids, and so were the song. But they weren’t overly childish, and I could listen to them without feeling immature. But this song I feel pretty uncool for listening to it now. Aside from the childish lyrics, the music is good I guess. It just sounds like all the overly happy and girly anime music out there. Change the lyrics and this could have been the opening to Chobits, Ouran High School Host Club, or Full Moon wo Sagashite.
H!P’s new Egg group debuting this fall S/mileage is releasing their first indie single entitled Ama no Jaku. Even thought the song doesn’t have a release date the song will be played at June 7th’s Hello! Pro Eggs concert Shinjin Kouen, and also on Takahashi Ai’s radio show June 4th. We also have a short preview of the clip via a S/mileage Fan Club announcement.
I’m actually really excited for the full version now. The PV looks like something ManoEri would make. And the outfits look a bit like something AKB48 would wear. But, I really love the high school setting of the PV. It gives it that Shouganai Yume Oibito and Honto no Jibun feel. Everyone looks amazing in the PV too. I found myself focusing a lot on Saki rather than just Yuuka and Kanon. I never realized how adorable she is! I also really love the song so far. It sounds really adorable. I kind of wish they would have played more than just the chorus though. I’m really curious to see how the lines were distributed. But it’s still nice to hear how well their voices blend together. I also loved after the preview how cute everyone pronounced S/mileage. I also wish I could see the picture of S/mileage that their holding up better. But I guess I’ll have to wait for that.
Tsunku announced on his blog yesterday that there will be a new Egg unit debuting this fall. It was also announced at H!P Eggs Shinjin Kouen concert. The member will include Ayaka Wada, Yuuka Maeda, Kanon Fukuda and Saki Ogawa.
Now at first glance you could think this new H!P unit is Shugo Chara Egg. I know that’s what I immediately though. However Shugo Chara Egg member Akari Saho is missing. She was replaced my H!P Egg Saki Ogawa. Which isn’t really fair to Akari if you ask me. Since I don’t follow the Eggs at all I know nothing about Saki Ogawa. So I’m really looking forward to how she sounds.
Probably the best part of this unit is Kanon and Yuuka are in it. I have really grown to love Yuuka and Kanon because of Shugo Chara Egg and High King. I’m really glad that they aren’t going back to being just Eggs. And a major debut might mean they will graduate from being Eggs all together. Which is exciting news.
So with a new Egg unit forming I guess that probably means Shugo Chara is over. Which isn’t really the best news. This new group better be incredible to make up for that.
