The happiest C-ute fan in the world

The full PV for C-ute’s upcoming single, Sekai ichi Happy na Onna no ko, has been released on their official youtube channel. Ad it honestly seems really rushed. The single isn’t releases until September 7th but we’re getting the PV now. Which is about a week or 2 early. And we’re getting the PV with no warning. Not one PV preview was released for this single.

When I first watched the PV I decided I hated it withing the first 10 seconds. But for some reason by the time I finished watching I was in love with the PV. Which is something that never happens with me. Usually it’s pretty cut and dry, I either love the PV or I hate it. And everything about this PV points to me hating it. The PV itself is extremely cheap. A majority of the PV is filmed in the exact same place. They have the dance shot up front, and then 5 feet behind them is the space for their close-ups. Which is something they hardly ever do in idol PVs. No matter how low of a budget they have, the dance shot and close-ups are 2 different settings. Even the cheapest of the cheap PVs don’t really do this. I can honestly only think of a few PVs that actually do this. Which are Buono’s Renai Rider, and actually most of Kusumi Koharu’s solo singles. Another reason I should hate it is because of the dance. The dance is extremely simple. But idol dances are hardly ever good. Literally 9/10 are terrible.
I should also hate it because literally nothing happens in the PV. Just cute idol poses and close-ups, and that’s it. Yet for some reason, despite all of this, I absolutely adore the PV. Because believe it or not I am pretty easy to please. I might be super critical of idol PVs, but that’s not to say I don’t enjoy most of them. The PV itself could be god awful, but if my idols look cute and are doing cute things, chances are I’m going to like the PV. It will never be my favorite idol PV of all time, but I will still enjoy it thoroughly. And that’s exactly what this PV is like. The PV is simple, but it’s not exactly boring. There are still a few cute elements to the PV. And above all, C-ute look absolutely adorable in this PV. They are wearing puffy idol dresses and oversized hair accessories. It’s that’s not adorable, I don’t know what is!

I feel like I’ve seen this before. But I can’t put my finger on it. And not Perfume’s One Room Disco, somewhere else.

I challenge anyone to say that every members doesn’t look to cute for words in this PV. I’m not the biggest Saki fan, but I want hug her in this PV.

Why does every idol group think this is a move worth repeating?

Airi looks perfect in her close-ups. *O*

Chisa looks pretty fresh and cute.

How is it possible for Maimi to be gorgeous and adorable at the same time?

Airi is so cute.

Gorgeous. MaiMai has been standing out to me a lot more lately.

Adorable smile.

Mai standing out, even in the background.

Creepy smile. Lol.

Airi! *O*

What’s with the random orange?

These are probably my favorite scenes. You get to see every member, and they look cute and doll like.

Ring around the Airi.

Lol.

The funky chicken. Seriously?

Adorable.

Look how cute Nacky is.

It’s pretty obvious what the dominos are for.

Adorable!

I have to admit, Saki really knows how to make her close-ups interesting.

The laying down scenes remind me of Paramore’s The Only Exception music video. American music reference no one cares about. XD

Absolutely adorable!

Lolz at Maimi.

Totally saw this coming.

It reminds me too much of Berryz Koubou’s Tomodachi wa Tomodachi Nanda PV.

This shot is weird. They almost look fake.

AKB48’s new PV comes through with flying colors

The PV for AKB48’s upcoming single, Flying Get, has been released. I really wanted to say the full PV has been released. But since the PV on the DVD will be a whopping 18 minutes long, this seems more like the short version. Or at least the TV version.

I absolutely love everything about this PV. I think the old martial arts movie theme is incredible. I love that the outfits fit the theme, but are still cute at the same time. I think the fighting scenes are choreographed very well, and are pulled off perfectly. There’s a great balance of the member’s attacking and taking counter attacks. Overall, I think the PV is very exciting and entertaining. And it has the potential to become an amazing PV. That’s right the potential, because I honestly don’t think it’s at a 10/10 just yet. I’d say it’s more of a 7/10. And the reason for that is, while I was watching the PV the entire time everything just seemed rushed. The PV seemed to focus a lot more time on the dancing/singing scenese then they should of. And because of that all the fighting scenes seemed incredibly rushed. It seems like they tried to shorten this PV the best they could. So, they shoved as much fighting, and different girls, as they could in 5 minutes. Making some parts of the PV seem a little choppy.
If anything, this PV seems more like a tease. Now that I’m in intrigued by this PV I really want to see the full version already. I mean, they leave us hanging on Acchan’s and Yuko’s fight! Even though, since Acchan did win the senbatsu it’s 95% likely she wins the fight.

I love how everyone but Acchan stands down here.

I think I’m supposed to be intimidated here, but I’m just not. Lol.

Mayu and Mariko have the cutest hairstyles. And look at Yuki looking all gorgeous.

I absolutely love the set.

I love Yuko’s dress. I really wish everyone get to wear the Chinese dresses, and not just Yuko and Atsuko.

Lolz that they are spliting the senbatsu by boots. The media senbatsu get gold gold boots, and the regualr senbatsu get the black boots. I actually think the black boots are prettier.

Also, I hate that the dance shot looks nearly exactly like their live performances of the song. XD

The glowing eyes are just so random. But look how evil Sayaka looks.

Sasshi!

Mayu!

I never really liked this outfits before, but they are actually pretty cute.

Acchan looks pretty here.

Amina’s creepy face. XD

Right in the face! Poor, I wanna say Sayaka, but it’s too blurry to be 100%.

Despite being attacked, Jurina still manages to look creepy.

I love how Tomomi looks more angry than scared. XD

Um…what?

Yeah, do it Sasshi!

Is that Mayu? It’s extremely hard to tell, but those do look like her ears. XD

Lolz just tossed aside. But I’m sure the less popular members are used to that.

Awesome!

This is awesome too.

Mayu is just adorable!

Lolz at Mariko’s intense face.

Priceless face.

Asuka looks gorgeous here!

No, don’t steal the giant painting of Acchan! Um…what?

Does anyone else think of the crazy 88’s from Kill Bill everytime they see these masked guys?

No one messes with Maeda Atsuko!

Awesome.

Yeah, because everyone has magic lightning powers.

The stare down!

Of course you’re always more evenly matched if you both have magic powers.

The song is called Flying Get, so of course there has to be flying. XD

Acchan looks so much like a guy here. XD

I really want to know what happens!

Berryz Koubou’s elegant new PV

The full PV for Berryz Koubou’s upcoming single, Aa, yo ga Akeru, has been released.

I am absolutely in love with the PV. Finally it’s a video that’s not the same standard idol formula! After I saw the PV preview I had some fears that the entire PV was going to be nothing but them singing on the stairs. But there’s actually a lot of elements in this PV. The video is filmed in this beautiful castle, and they actually make use of it. It seems like you get to see a nice chunk of the castle. Some of the girl’s walk around, and each girl is in a seperate room for their close-up shots. They are also sitting on the stairs for the group singing parts, and the dance scene also has its own seperate room. Which makes the video pretty interesting because you never really see the same setting for that long. The only real fault you could find with this particular video is there’s not actually a storyline. But I’m completely fine with that because there’s so many different scenes in this PV you don’t even notice that.
The PV really has everything going for it, it’s interesting and the girls look gorgeous. Much like Buono’s Natus Dakara PV, this PV seems to be one giant beauty shot. Which is an obvious plus.
This video as a whole just has a elegant, classy, and highend. It just has this sort of princess feel to it. The kind of vibe I wanted the Kimagure Princess PV to have.

This castle is beautiful.

Risako’s room is gorgeous.

It sucks that Miyabi has to sit by the front door though. Lol.

Yurina looks gorgeous here.

This room is beautiful.

The contrast is so high you can’t even see half of Risako’s nose. XD

Yurina looks so amazing! *O*

Why does Chinami look so sad?

Risako’s looks sad and pretty at the same time.

I love how Massa looks angry. Lol.

Yurina! There are no words! *O*

And all that jazz! XD The dance is actually a little awkward.

Momoko looks really pretty.

Hot! Is she wearing green contacts?

I love this hair on Saki.

Creepy face.

Everyone looks gorgeous here.

But it stil reminds me too much of their Very Beauty PV.

Gorgeous Risako.

I can’t get over how super pretty Momoko looks in this PV.

Wow, Miyabi looks amazing.

Gorgeous!

Chinami looks pretty.

Look at Risako’s legs. They go on for weeks!

Simple dance is simple.

Yurina just looks incredible in this PV.

And so does Miyabi.

My god! *O*

What KAT-TUN’s really running from

The PV for KAT-TUN’s upcoming single, Run For You has finally been released.

And I gotta say after watching it I find the PV incredibly weird. I was confused by it, and was scractching my head about it the whole time I was watching it. I was mostly confused because after watching it I was drawn to only one conclusion of the meaning of the PV. That conclusion is, KAT-TUN is being tested or experimented on. It also seems like they are being brainwashed or mind controlled. Which changes the PV from something fun into something serious and weird. If you watch the PV you can see that KAT-TUN are in hospital rooms. They even pan out so you can see each member is right next door to each other. They also show a very large bolted door which means they are in some mental ward in a prison or some sort of special test facility. And each member is in an extremely strange room. Kame is in a room with a projector. Which is the most obvious brainwashing element, and what made me start thinking that was the meaning of the PV. I’m sure everyone is familiar with this because it’s like brainwashing 101. You are forced to watch disturbing images over and over to brainwash you. It’s not as obvious as the A Clockwork Orange eye speculums scene, but it’s still pretty obvious. And then Taguchi is in a room that is freezing. I’m pretty sure being exposed to constant heat or cold eventually breaks you down and makes you more susceptible to mind control. Maru is in a room where time seems to stop. I’m not sure what to make of that, but it’s possibly to see how long is takes before he can’t stand that anymore. Koki is in a room with a maze of electrical cord. I’m not sure the meaning of this room either. Perhaps to simulate electroshock therapy. Ueda’s room seems to be the only one that doesn’t make sense. He surrounded by constant sound. There’s probably some signifigance in that too. But I have no idea.
And through all of this KAT-TUN is being filmed and carefully monitored on screens in some undisclosed location.

Now I’m not sure what KAT-TUN and mind controll have to do with once another. And I’m also not sure why KAT-TUN would make such a creepy PV. Maybe I’m just reading into this too much. But if anyone can explain this PV in any other way, be my guest. Because I can’t think of one other meaning than the obvious.

Creepy bolted door.

No, that’s too easy.

Yeah, this makes perfect sense. Except not at all.

I love Newton’s cradle. XD

This looks more like a prison hallway, than a hospital one.

Kame’s hot, but I can’t get over how weird his hair looks in this PV.

Ok, I’m officially over Koki’s hair. He looks amazing here.

The dance is pretty awful.

Why are they focusing so much that they are locked in?

Seriously, the same arm move from Michael Jackson’s Beat It dance.

This hair makes him look even more like Changmin.

I can’t be the only one who sees how similar they look!

Constantly monitored.

Koki’s dance move is just lolz.

Yeah, this is totally a normal image and has nothing to do with brainwashing.

Adorable.

The cold just keeps flooding in.

I just don’t get Ueda’s room.

Aww Kame looks so sad. Actually he looks more hurt than sad.

You don’t ask the cameras for help if your there by your own free will.

The magic floating box will fix everything!

So close, yet so far.

Quick, now’s your chance to escape.

The spell was broken.

SND48’s new PV is bugging me

A couple of days ago the full PV for SDN48’s 3rd single Min.Mi.Min. was released.

My interest in SDN48 has been dwindling greatly sinc etheir debut. GAGAGA was an amazing song, but then Ai Juseyo was just ok, and now Min.Min.Min is even lower than that. The PVs for SND48’s singles have always been on the same medicore level. There’s just nothing that stands out about this single. The PV does stand out but not for the right reasons. The PV stands out just for sheer weirdness. Which could be a food thing, but in SND48’s case it’s just not. Most of this PV focuses around SND48 in a giant cage wearing bug wings. Which isn’t really explained and is pretty much a mystery to me. There are also close-ups thrown in where they are sitting on the cage. And a few scenes where they are tangled in branches. And that’s pretty much the entire PV. No added exciting elements. No suprise endingwhere they all fly into a giant bug zapper. Instead the twist at the end they did add was pretty weird. They were being fished up by some giant who was standing on what looks like 50 different cage boxes. It made absolutely no sense to me.
I guess my real dislike for this PV stems from the fact that this PV is a complete rip off of Miley Cyrus’s Can’t Be Tamed music video. And since I’ve seen Min.Min.Min video before I’m obviously not going to be impressed with it.

What does being wrapped in branches have to do with being a bug?

Is it because it kind of looks like a rest?

Even the cages are similar.

Miley has a tree because she’s a bird, why do they have one?

This girl is pretty. I just wish the quality wasn’t so horrible. :/

This girl is pretty too.

This girl is too flashy.

Yeah, make sure you really emphasise the creepy bug wings.

Ok, maybe this is cool. XD

This girl is pretty adorable.

What’s with the ominous floating?

WTF is that?

No, I’m still confused.

Not really impressed.

Um…what?

Passpo fly into the summer

The full PV for Passpo’s 2nd single, ViVi Natsu, was released yesterday.

When I watched the PV preview I was pretty shocked that Passpo felt the need to release a bikini PV. So, I was a litte apprehensive about the full version. But I am actually really happy with the PV. While there are 2 different setting where they are wearing bikinis, the bikinis aren’t in the main focus like I thought they might be. Instead they are pretty much just a footnote in the PV. The rest of the PV just shows doing random cute things together. Like eating and sitting in a bed together. The PV seems to mostly focus on the dance scenes. Which isn’t really a problem because the dance is cute and I absolutely adore their main outfits for this PV. And can I also point out that this is the first time that Passpo is wearing normal clothes in a PV. Well, if you don’t count the pajamas from GPP. The pajamas seem more like a costume anyway. But my absolute favorite part of the PV is when they eat the summery foods. They are just adorable scenes, and they just scream summer to me.
The only real fault about this PV is I wish they used the summer theme better. They could have went all out and done every single summer cliche known to man. That would have be cheesy, but it would have made for an incredible idol PV. Or they could have taken the summer theme and made it unique like Not Yet’s Naminori Kakigori. You can see that little added elements in the PV like the sunflower, tropical drinks, picnic tables, and the bikinis are supposed to give a clear message that this is a summer themed PV. They obviously do have some elements to let you know it’s summer, but I just wanted more. A clearer picture painted. I guess I’m just being picky.
Also, I never noticed until I watched the PV how unfair the line distribution is. Mostly because I’m not all that familiar with Passpo’s individual voices yet. However, my 3 favorite girls Kaho, Shiori, and Mio sing most of the song. So, I honestly can’t complain too much about that.

Everyone looks pretty awkward in the beginning. I suppose they where just told to ad-lib. Shiori looking up unnecessarily is just a lol moment.

Dreaming Mio. She’s so adorable. *O*

Cute. Obvious Mio bias is obvious. Sako looks cute in the background too though.

Awkward way to start the dance.

Natsumi is pretty.

Nice hair Yukimi, you shouldn’t get used to it. XD Look at Sako looking all gorgeous next to her.

Adorable.

This is too.

Lolz at Shiori. XD

Shiori is so cute.

Ai looks pretty here.

Lolz.

Anna, Ai, and Makoto looks gorgeous here. Am I the only onw who thought it would have been cute for their bikinis to be their group colors. It kinda looks like they almost are. But Makoto’s and Natsumi’s aren’t right. XD

I love Mio’s bikini.

Adorable!

Cute! And Naomi looks great.

Anna looks super pretty.

Lol.

Mio!

Makoto is just so cute.

Kanpai!

Look at them try to seductively eat. Lol.

Reminds me of the Heavy Rotation PV.

Cute. But why is Sako just staring off into space? She kinda looks angry. XD

Shiori’s face is priceless.

Probably the 2 cutest members. Shiori being a close 3rd.

Lol.

Dramatic running.

Wrapped up in SKE48’s new PV

The full PV for SKE48’s new single, Pareo wa Emerald, has been released. My PV rewview of this PV is just a tad late. But it has been extremely hot lately, so I’ve had to put blogging on hold for a bit.

I was pretty enamored with the PV preview when I first saw it. I was nearly half of the PV, so I thought there was going to be a good chance that I would like the PV. But after seeing the whole PV I’m kinda indifferent to it. While I do like the first hald because there is a lot going on. Dancing on the beach, watching a basketball game, an Alice Cooper-esque School’s Out mad rush out of the school, rowing, and other summery activities. While that is fine and dandy, and even down right adorable, the rest of the PV lacks the same pizzazz.  A good chunk of the rest of the PV is nothing more than cliff diving. Which was a cool element to the PV the first time, but the 8th jump just wasn’t as exciting. I also realize the diving is just an excuse to wear bikinis. Well, more bikinis then they are already wearing. But as a female fan, this doesn’t really do any thing for me. And instead I find it kind of boring. And there’s also this odd side story where Rena watches everyone happily cliff diving in sadness. I guess it’s supposed to mean she’s afraid to jump off the cliff. But have no fear, just like every other cliché, Rena pulls through and eventually jumps. But in her dress, so no shamless Rena bikini shot for you.

chool’s out! Ok, maybe this isn’t exactly a mad rush. But it’s close enough.

And then practically out of nowhere, there’s just intense arm flailing. Which is supposed to pass as dancing

Not even 30 seconds in and Jurina is creeping me out already. XD

I love their uniforms.

Random butt shaking dance move.

This girl is cute. Too bad I don’t know SKE48’s member’s names. There was a time when I did my friend. However, they were all puhsed out of my head when I remembered Passpo’s and SUPER GiRL’s names. XD

Seriously? A peek-a-boo dance move.

I find it a little sexist and stereotypical that they are cheering on the sidelines for “cute guys” rather than playing a game themselves.

This girl is pretty cute too.

Creepy smile!

Let the excessive bikini shots begin.

I guess everyone wearing the boy short bikinis are the young members. However, they kind of look like actual shorts. XD

I’ve been noticing purple bikini the whole PV. She’s the prettiest member of SKE48.

Overly excited, it looks too fake.

Ok, waving is officially the worst move I’ve ever seen in an idol dance.

The girl on the far right reminds me of Okai Chisato for some reason. XD

Why are so many idol PVs shot in America?

Um..what?

Ok, this is actually cute.

My god, she has old face. O_O

I love this bikini. XD

This girl is super cute. *O*

Rena is always watching.

This gave me wicked flashbacks.

To Keibetsu Shiteita Aijou.

And of course Everyday Kachuusha.

So much fanservice in one frame. XD

Hey would you look at that, it really was shorts. XD

KAT-TUN-Run For You PV preview

A commerical for KAT-TUN’s Run For You single was just released. Giving us fans a sneak peek at the PV.

The PV preview is extremely short, it’s roughly 10 seconds long. Pretty much all we get to see is them dancing to the chorus. They are dancing in all black in a plain white room. Can you say Real Face or Ultimate Wheels anyone? Since the PV preview is so short it’s impossible to get a feel of what the PV is going to be like. For all we know this is just the dance scene and there’s some other eleborate scenes going on in the rest of the PV. Most likely them dramatically running, like in their recent Suzuki Solio commercial.
However, since all we see is dancing there’s also the chance that this is all the PV is going to be. If you remember the entire Ultimate Wheels PV was filmed in a white room. The set of Run For You seems to have more elements than the horrible nothing but white room in Ultimate Wheels. But you still never know.

Here’s the PV preview

Also, here’s the solio CM if you haven’t seen it yet.

Weeping over DiVA’s new PV

The full PV for DiVa’s new single, Cry, has just been released.

When I first saw the PV preview I didn’t really like what I saw at all. But after I saw the full version I actually really like it. I’m not really sure why because the PV is extremely simple and is the same close-up dance shots I alwasy seem to hate. But there’s just something about it I find so captivating and so alluring. I think a main part of this PVs appeal to me are  the sets. Yes, the main set is pretty simple and pretty WTF worthly because it’s just a empty room with a tree in the background in front of a window with an obviously fake looking sky. But the room had very bright fluorescent lighting, which make the girls look nearly flawless. And I’ve loved the second set from the moment I saw it. The falling water in the background just works perfectly for the song. And of course the girls look gorgeous. They have much more laid back clothes and hair, giving them an effortlessly pretty vibe.
I also love the dance for this song. Not so much the dance itself becuse the moves are pretty simple and at times awkward looking. But just the way DiVA dances to them makes the whole dance look 100 times better. Even though the dance is simple they are dancing extremely powerfully. That just makes me instantly love it.
But probably my favorite part of the PV is when they make it appear that the tree is crying. I know that would technically make it rain, but it was shot at such an angle to symbolize tears. Which is a pretty awesome effect.

Cheap set but beautiful lighting.

Hot.

Simple moves, but you can tell there’s a lot of skill behind them.

Poor Yuka this hair just does nothing for her.

I love how intense Sae looks through the whole PV.

And yet super pretty at the same time.

Gorgeous!

Sayaka has the best close-ups. *O*

Ok, Yuka looks really pretty here.

Beautiful.

There are no words. *O* I think my bias is showing. XD

This is pretty hot.

Count down 3, 2, 1 Breakin’ Out!

Right Risa?

Awesome transition.

Sayaka looks gorgeous.

Ok, now everyone look like a deer caught in headlights.

Gorgeous I tell you!

Adorable.

See how much better Yuka looks with this hair.

Crying tree.

Weird move.

Sayaka looks incredible! *O*

Super intense face.

Pretty.

I love that it basically end with a ray of sunshine.

Everybody roller skate!

The PV for Kis-My-Ft2’s much anticipated debut single, Everybody Go, has just been released.

I actually really do like the PV. There are a lot of elements in this PV and a lot of things are going on in this PV. I doubt there’s one frame in the entire PV were something isn’t happening. Which is obviously a good thing. The PV looks like it costs a pretty penny to make and it shows. The PV is flashy, (in more than one sense of the word), it has 3 different close-ups, 3 different outfits, 3 different sets, stripper polls, ramps, and overly dramatic fog. This PV seriously has everything. Johnny’s really went all out on this debut. It shows you  just how much faith JE has in Kisumai becoming bigger than they already are. That’s what happens when you’re a popular undebuted Junior group for 6 years. Look at how big KAT-TUN, who were in the same situation, where and are. They released a debut album, single, and DVD simultaneously and they all shot to number 1.
I’m actually realy impressed with the PV. A lot more impressed with it then I was after seeing the preview. The only thing I don’t particularly like about the PV is the sheer amount of roller skating going on. Now that they are debuting I really wish they would drop their ridiculous Junior shtick. But I guess that’s never going to happen. And even I have to admit, ridiculous or not, they utilized the roller skates brilliantly in the PV. I also really love the song too. Kisumai has unexpectedly good vocals and interesting music.
However, I’m trying to watch this PV and be excited for their debut, which I am, but there’s just something that’s keeping me from enjoying it 100%. It’s probably the fact that nearly all the members look like hideous trolls. Yeah, that’s probably it. I’m trying to be objective and take this debut from a non-shallow point of view. But you know what? I can’t really seem to. Kisumai has everything going for them except for looks. Yes, I’m a horrible shallow person. But excuse me if I’d rather listen to pretty boy idols. Idols, who I might point out,  are judged on looks and personality over talent. Which is not just a female idol thing. If that was the case MatsuJun and Chinen Yuri would have never debuted. Taguchi Junnosuke and Kato Shigeaki can’t sing, instead their main points are their funny personalities. The same with Yaotome Hikaru. Well Hikaru can actually sing, but he’s not the best looking idol in JE.
And let’s be honest, looks are the real reason I’m not into Arashi or Kanjani8 as much as I am other JE groups, and why I don’t listen to older JE groups. This is why it’s just easier to stick to female idols, I don’t have to worry about being shallow. XD Maybe it’s just my insanly high standards, but I don’t see wasting my time fangirling over some one who’s not at least a 7. Japanese celebrities or American. XD

I never understood why Hiromistu wasn’t credited for his performance in the Troll movies.

Overly dramatic close-ups.

Not even 30 seconds in and they are already roller skating. XD

I think Yuta actually looks cute in this PV. What a difference a new hair color makes.

I think arrogant close-ups should be reserved for people who don’t look like they got hit in the face with a frying pan.

Ok, jumping off the ramp is actually pretty awesome.

This has to be the greatest lighting known to mankind because Hiromitsu actually looks cute here. Which is impossible because on a good day he’s a 2.

Taisuke let me know when you get your bedhead hairstyle back. Then you’ll be hot again.

Fooled by the lighting again. :/

You’ve been waiting 6 years for a debut and this is the best you come up with for your close-up.

Eww, Toshiya is the ugliest one.

Stupid dance move.

It doesn’t make sense that Yuta is the focus of this PV, but Taisuke is shoved in the center of covers of the this single.

I was super impressed with this glove scene transition.

Even with his bad hair, this is still pretty hot.

I wasn’t expecting Yuta to appear out of nowhere. It’s kind of funny actually.

I love that the top members get the upper level.

When in doubt add a stripper pole.

Or have your roller skates shoot sparks.

No matter what you do roller skating will never be cool. XD

And cue the dramatic fog.

Here’s the PV, I suggest you watch the PV before JE takes it down.

Watarirouka Hashiritai7’s new PV isn’t lacking much

The full PV for Watarirouka Hashiritai7’s new single, Hetappi Wink, has finally been released.

Even though the PV preview for this song was pretty short, the PV preview turned out to show pretty much the entire PV. The PV is basically following the girls, mostly Mayu of course, while they film a commercial for masscara or something like that. And of course since this PV is a behind the scenes PV we get to see the girls in such exciting places as sitting at a table off set and in the makeup room. The PV follows Mayu closely as she struggles with the daunting task of winking. So this PV is filled with Mayu’s pouting face, sulking face, dissapointed face, and apathetic face. Which are probably my favorite scenes in the PV. Because she absolutely adorable at those times. The PV also consists of the other girls acing their commericals and winking about a dozen times. Which I think is hilarious, because it’s basically saying “in your face” to Mayu. The director is no doubt a sadist.
Besides all the snazzy behind the scenes shots the rest of the PV is a pretty standard close-up and dance shot idol PV. Which is fine. The behind the scenes parts are enough of a storyline to keep me interested in the PV.
Overall I actually really love this PV. The girls looks too cute for words and the PV is entertaining. And it does manage to have a a consistent storyline throughout the PV. I normally don’t really like behind the scenes PVs because they are usually all the same. But this one has a pretty fresh feel to it. I don’t think any other behind the scenes PV was filmed as behind the scenes at a commercial shoot. And if there are any, I can’t think of them off hand.

Who  doesn’t love Mayu’s awkward, innocent, unsure of herself face. It’s impossible not to!

She just makes failing miserably so adorable.

She’s looks like she’s going to cry here, it makes me want to hug her!

I have no idea what the directors are saying, so I’m just going to assume they are talking about replacing her. XD

Poor Mayu looks so defeated.

Can I just say how much I love these dresses? They are like 3 dresses rolled into one. A flamenco inspired dress on top, with a corset in the middle, and a fluffy idol skirt on the bottom.

No need to ask, Mayu’s the fairest of them all.

And the insanely simple dance moves begin.

Ok, this move is actually cute. But that’s only because it’s the epitome of idolness.

Poor huggable Mayu.

Eh, Ayaka does nothing for me. She kind of looks like a vampire. I’m not sure of any other way to explain it. XD

Natsumi on the other hand is gorgeous.

That wink! *O*

Misaki is a cutie too.

This hairstyle is perfect for Aika. It makes her look 10 times more adorable than usual.

Why do idols do this move so often?

Seriously?

Why?

Adorable. *O*

I’m not really sure why Naa-chan is making this face, but I approve. XD

Cute.

You know, holding your eye down like that would actually work. That’s how I learned to lift one eyebrow when I was like 8. XD

Take 35 she’s doing good. XD

The bright lights actually make them look awkward rather than pretty. The contrast is too high.

Adorable.

Now that’s an ameonna.

Aww.

Having a lot of friends isn’t going to make you suddenly able to wink.

I always thought Mika was pretty ugly. But she doesn’t look that bad in this movie.

Poor Mayu can’t wink when it matters.

I love how the Aki-P type guy in the back says not being able to wink is cute. XD

Of course it has to end with Mayu winking.

I love how there’s a commercial at the end like it’s a real product. Genius!

Here’s the PV. You should watch it ASAP, because it won’t be up for much longer.

Filled with ecstasy over S/mileage

The full PV for S/mileage’s upcoming single, Uchouten Love, was just uploaded tot heir official youtube channel.

When I first saw the previews for the Uchouten Love PV I wasn’t all that impressed with the PV. And after seeing the full PV I’m still not 100% impressed wit the PV. Mostly because the PV is one the cheap side. Which is pretty unlike S/mileage. S/mileage has always been pretty interesting PVs that appear to be a high budget. They’ve only released like 3 that weren’t. So, of course it’s a bit of surprise that this PV is below average, and under the bar that has been set for S/mileage PVs. The PV is basically exactly like the 30 second commercial showed. If you watched the commerical it’s the same feel as watching the PV. This PV is mostly just dance shots and close-ups. Which is little boring. Their Koi ni Booing Boo had that same formula, but they still managed to jazz it up and actually make it interesting to watch.
I am happy that there is another element to the PV that I wasn’t expecting. Besides, the standard dance scene and close-ups the PV also has the girls in a school setting wearing school uniforms. Which could be awesome, but is only half way their. Perhaps if the school setting consisted of more than just 4 desks I would be more excited about it. aMa no Jaku was an indie PV and that was actually filmed in a school. It reminds me a lot of the Otona Narutte Muzukashii where there are just 4 rand desks. A lot of the PV reminds me of the Otona Narutte Muzukashii PV. The group close-ups in both PVs are nearly identical. I guess it’s hard to come up with a theme for a PV. But if you’re going to steal an element from a PV, what’s the point of stealing that element from yourself?
The only redeeming aspect of this PV is the girls themselves. They look gorgeous. And they remain adorable and incredibly sweet throughout the PV.

Even though most of my comments for the PV were pretty harsh, I do like the PV though. I find it incredibly adorable. Do I think it’s the greatest music video I’ve ever seen? Of course not. Is it even the best idol PV I’ve ever seen? Of course not. Does that really matter? It honestly doesn’t. Idol PVs are 7 times out of 10 times cheap and disapointing. Maybe other people will think PVs are better than I do. But I have pretty high standards. Maybe even ridiculously high standards. Over the years of being an idol fan I’ve been learning to just accept this as a fact, and a part of idol culture. Usually during PVs I tend to just focus on the idols themselves. But even though I focus more of the idols then the PV, that’s not going to really stop me from judging the PVs as harshly as I see fit. Afterall, I do still have high standards. And I do still hold out for the few PVs that are both entertaining, and the idols look good. Which are actually pretty hard to find. Well, they are for me anyway.

Saki looks super adorable.

It’s cute that there are hearts in their eyes.

But it reminds me too much of the Renai Rider PV.

The set is cute, but it reminds me too much of the Aisu Kuriimu to My Purin set.

It’s not 100% the same. But it’s pretty similar.

Of course this is very similar to the Otona ni Narutte Muzukashii PV.

Granted the Uchouten Love PV’s effects are much better and have a wider variety.

I still can’t get over how good Saki looks. *O*

When Yuuka first cut her hair short I completely hated it. I didn’t think it suited her at all. But with this style I think it completely suits her.

Cheapest school setting ever!

Kanon is so cute.

Hey macarena Aha!

Adorable.

Ok, this is pretty cute too.

Why does Ayaka’s book have to be upside down? I don’t really find stupidity adorable.

I didn’t think it was cute with Momoko either.

Kanon being her cute self. Ayaka’s face next to her is priceless.

Saki just looks beyond adorable in this PV.

Chu.

Cute.

How is this not like Ai no Dangan?

It’s exactly the same.

All these balloons are starting to remind me of the Chu Shiyouze PV.

There were way were way more balloons in the Chu Shiyouze PV tough.

Adorable.

Lolz.

Saisho wa guu, Janken Pon!

Cool effect, but it’s been done before.

Of course if you copy off of my beloved Koharu I’m going to remember.

Cute.

Saki! *O*

Um…what? Are they seriously doing the wave but just sideways?

Because it’s Buono!

Buono’s official Youtube channel has just uploaded the PV for Buono’s upcoming 12th single, Natsu Dakara.

The PV isn’t all that different than the PV preview we saw a week ago.  There’s only like a handful of new scenes. And after seeing the PV preview I was expecting a whole lot more than what we had already seen. For most of the PV it’s just the girls standing in front of a door or sitting on a couch. With a few random activites thrown in so the PV doesn’t seem as simple as it is. But like I said before I am actually ok with such a simple PV. After thei last single had 2 expensive PVs with a lot going on, it’s actual a nice change to have this PV be a bit more simple. It actually fits really nicely with the tempo of the song. I love how the whole PV is nothing but a giant beauty shot because my girls look simply gorgeous. The only thing I am not really that happy with is how Airi centered the song and PV is. Since Buono only has 3 members they have always been extremely fair song and PV wise. But it seems since Buono switched to Zetima they’ve been throwing Airi a couple more lines than the other girls. Which I’m not really into.

Nice wedges. XD

They look super pretty in natural lighting.

They might be doing nothing but shoving Airi in your face, but with good reason. She looks really pretty and cute here.

The dresses are beautiful too. Very simple and elegant.

Miyabi is the real standout of this PV though. She’s look gorgeous.

Airi looks beyond adorable in this hat.

I think Momo’s a little overexcited. She’s making way too intense a face for saying the word sunshine.

Gorgeous, just gorgeous. She’s only looking a way, and she looks incredible.

Momoko looks really cute here.

And she’s back to looking creepy. This is why I love Momo. XD

Miyabi looks great here. She looks super friendly and approachable. And I love how her dress is 70’s inspired.

Airi’s pouty face is so cute.

Gorgeous.

I don’t get why they keep waving.

Miya’s innocent face is so adorable.

I love how Airi is making more of a sultry face.

But lolz that Momoko is just giving a blank stare.

Airi is always watching. Airi kind of looks scary here. XD

Adorable!

Airi is such a cutie.

Momoko is so cute and lovely.

There are so many scenes in these PV where the girls look amazing. Like, look how cute Miyabi looks.

Miyabi’s too into this.

Himitsu da yo~

The bubbles make me think of C-ute’s Momoiro Sparkling PV and Guardians4’s Party Time PV.

Adorable!

I just had a serious flashback to Buono’s Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! PV.

The black haired girls are no longer extinct!

After releasing their first PV preview just yesterday, the full PV for NMB48’s debut single, Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shoujo has been released.

I know I complained a lot about this PV yesterday. Well, I tend to complain a lot in generally. I’m very critical, and full of opinions, when it comes to idol music. Hence why this blog exists in the first place. But anyway, in my post about the PV preview my only really fault about it was that it wasn’t Japanese enough. Well, who ever directed this PV must be a dedicated reader of this blog, because the actual PV is everything I hoped it would be! The PV is bursting with Japanese references. Okay maybe bursting is an exaggeration, but there are quite a few. The opening of the PV starts off with one of the girls walking in front of a rice paper screen and shamisen music is playing. From then on out I knew the PV was going to have more Japanese elements. And I was pretty excited about it. However, most of the references are in the second half of the PV. Which isn’t actually that big of a deal. It would have nice to have them more spread out through the entire PV. But that’s a tiny flaw. The Japanese elements throughout are calligraphy, traditionally drinking tea, karate, using a katana, focusing on the girl’s kanzashi, wearing kimonos, and even falling cherry blossom petals.
I loved this PV from start to finish. I like how it wasn’t an average PV with just close-up shots and dance scenes because it could have been. SKE48’s and SDN48’s debut PVs were basically just that. I love that it had a clear storyline, and stuck with it. Even if it was relatively simple, and nothing more than a few random shots edited together.  People might brush this PV off as being too gimmicky, or a tad underwhelming. But I actually don’t think it’s either of those. There was a perfect balance of the standard PV formula and sticking to a theme. Besides, this is idol music there’s a certain cheese factor in pretty much every release. I actually still would have liked to have seen a little more from the dance. But that’s a tiny flaw as well.

To me this embodies Japan. It has that standard Japanese art feel to it.

Cheap effect but still pretty cool.

This effect is awesome too. It takes so little to impress me. XD

This dance move is a litte awkward, and would honestly only work for Passpo.

This girl is cute. Too bad I don’t know any NMB48 members name. Expect for Nana of course.

The snake seriously? That move is so 90’s. XD

The dance is just too easy to poke fun at.

It’s a hair flip, it’s whatever. Chris Crocker reference FTW? I’m suck a loser. XD

Nana looks really cute in this PV. However, I can’t get a good cap of her.

This is a really beautiful kimono and kanzashi.

Ok, this is an adorable dance move.

GURIIN TII no otenami wo haiken shite~ That’s Seriously the first thing I though of. XD Also, really pretty kimonos.

I’ve been paying attention to this girl throughout the PV. She’s a cutie.

At fist I thought this said love. But I realized two things. It obviously doesn’t and I can’t read Japanese. XD

She’s so pretty. *O*

Awesome.

Cool effect! XD

Apparently nothing’s more Japanese than skimpy outfits. Lol.

I love the falling cherry blossom petals.

It reminds me of the Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game PV.

The girl on the right is super pretty.

Vogue, strike a pose.

This angle isn’t really the most flattering. From this angle she looks like a young Kitagawa Keiko.

Adorable!

Am I the only one who thinks this girl looks a bit like Ogawa Saki?

Bowing was the absolute perfect way to end the PV.

Since you can’t embed this video from vimeo you have to click here to watch the PV.

Hey! Say! JUMP don’t go overboard enough

After waiting for what seems like an eternity, the full PV for Hey! Say! JUMP’s new single, Over, has finally been released. With only 3 days until the single is released! That’s some brilliant marketing right there. XD

Over the past 2 weeks we’ve been pretty much bombarded with PV previews, 3 in total. So, it felt like we saw a good chunk of the PV. And it turns out that we actually did see most of it, because there’s really not much going on in the PV. The PV is 6 minutes long, you’d think that they would do something exciting with the extra minute and a half. However, the entire time before the song starts is spent on the phone. I mean, I know the whole song is like a phone conversation, but the talking in the beginning was actually a little boring. What I did understand of it was, apparently Rysouke was dumped and the members are trying to cheer him up. Which actually fits perfectly with the song. But I honestly could have done with out. It’s just like when AKB48 adds like 4 minutes to their PVs to add talking and a storyline. IBut I find it  completely boring and I usually just skip it. XD
Off subject, but I understood like 90% of what they were saying, so yay for me. I understood pretty much everything except for Hikaru, the last thing Daiki said, and the last bit of what Ryutaro and Yabu said. No one cares though, so, I digress.
The rest of the PV are dance scenese and then their close up shots. Over the past few weeks I’ve gotten over the ugly dance set, and it doesn’t really botther me so much anymore. It’s not spectacular, but it could have been much worse. The close-ups are what I have a problem with. The whole PV is filmed in a school. Mostly the hallways and common area. Didn’t we just have a JE PV insanely similar to this one? Or are we supposed to forget that KAT-TUN’s White PV exists? And then the rest of the close-ups/group shots are in slow motion with random objects flying around. Which is what they did in their last PV for Arigatout ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo. But in this PV they did do it a lot more and in a more artistic way to make the PV more interesting. But it is still completely redundant.
You would think with all this scrutiny and harsh criticism that I hate the PV, but I don’t really. But I don’t love it either. It’s somewhere more in the middle for me. The guys look super cute, they are wearing normal clothes instead of ridiculous costumes, and the overall look is 100 times better than their last PV. Yuto. Especailly since he looked super adorable. Much like any PV, there’s obvious pros and cons. This PV is probably at about a 6 for me. And is probably their 2nd best PV. However, this PV needed more

Ryosuke looks gorgeous, as usual.

Has anyone else noticed that Daiki has been getting extra attention lately? He’s the 2nd main focus in this PV after Ryosuke.

Hikaru’s hair is pretty unfortunate in this PV.

Ashita wa ashita no kaze yo fuke~ Yuto’s adorable and said the most adorable line of encouragement.

The face Ryosuke has to make to show that he’s being cheered up is so stupid and obviously fake.

Hot. Ryosuke looks innocent and sexy at the same time.

Can I just point out how hilarious it is that Ryosuke is wearing a hair clip? Johnny’s: making your favorite idols act effeminate since the 1960’s. XD

Yesh, head on this isn’t really a good hairstyle.

I still don’t understand the random obelisks. But whatever.

Yabu looks hot, but Keito is all derp in the background. Lolz.

I really need to stop making caps of just Ryosuke. But he looks so good in this PV.

Yuto, why so serious apathetic?

I love how Daiki is the only member to not make the same exact expression during this random epileptic montage.

Just incredible. *O* No other member is trying half as hard as Ryosuke is too look hot. I kinda wish they were.

Takaki actually looks pretty cute with this hair.

There’s just no words.

Rabbit face.

How adorable.

I don’t really like that my favorite are shoved to the back.

Random floating objects, where have I seen that before?

Oh yeah that’s right, the Arigatou PV.

Cute.

I love how Inoo is trying to look cool here. It’s not really working for him though. XD

Hot.

Adorable! This post has become so Ryosuke biased, but I don’t even care. H’es shown the most and looks the best. What do you want from me?

Of course it ends with a random Ryosuke butt shot. I mean, can you think of another way to end it? But seriously lolz.

Go Go MomoClo rangers!

The PV for Momoiro Clover Z’s upcoming single Z Densetsu ~Owarinaki Kakumei~ has been released. After weeks of teasing when the PV preview was uploaded 2 weeks ago. And even recently the full version of the PV was uploading in low quality to youtube. But I have been refraining from watching it until a high quality version was available.

Since the PV preview was 2 and a half minutes long, the PV doesn’t have too many scenes that are new to us. But that actually doesn’t really bother me. Because the PV is so quirky and so completely unserious that it’s absolutely incredible. MomoClo has never been an idol group that too itself seriously or was to be taken as mature. And after going major all of their PVs have reflected that. But none as imature, silly, and WTF worthy as this PV. From start to finish the PV is pure insanity, mostly because they are dressed up as Power Rangers. And the fact that they bring flowers back to life and cheer up sadness just by running around in a circle is as ridiculous as it is adorable.

I never really understood why Shiori is dressed as a teddy bear astronaut.

Cheap effects, yet still kind of cool looking. XD

Kanako looks really pretty here.

And her smile is so infectious.

Shiori is such a cutie.

Oh man it’s hayashi rice. I think I watched Ryusei no Kizuna too much. XD

Why do they always show idols eating? Does every wota have a food fetish or something?

I never used to notice Ayaka, but she is starting to really grow on me.

And yet more eating. XD

Of course my personal favorite Momoka is looking as adorable as ever.

Especially here. *O*

Poor Reni still looks too thin. They should have had her and Shiori switch verses. Lol. It’s actually not funny, Reni seriously has a problem.

Lolz.

Ayaka’s suggestive pose.

And Momoka’s even more suggestive pose. XD

This has got to be the most awkward dance in idol history.

Just lovely.

There’s just no words. XD

I’m having serious flashbacks.

To the Ikuze! Kaitou Shoujo PV of course.

Ayaka’s pose is so cute.

Adorable.

Aww.

Her wink just killed me. *O*

Hara heta~ That made me seriously laugh.

This dance move is incredible.

Um….

Lol.

Fail! XD No, actually I probably would have dropped my leg sooner. XD

Not Yet are beach bums in new PV

The PV for Not Yet’s 2nd single, Naminori Kakigoori, was finally released. And I have to say I’ve really been waiting for this PV. I have been in love with this song practically since the first time I heard it.

Since this song has a summer feel and theme to it, the PV pretty much matches the theme to a T. Most of the PV features the girls working at a beachside restaurant. With a very Hawaiian, tiki sort of theme. Which is the perfect setting. Nothing screams summer more than having a summer job, or going to one of those beachside restaurant. But I’m a little weirded out by those scenes. Because while they are waitressing the camera angles are in such a way to make it seem like the members are taking the viewers orders/serving them. I don’t even know why that just creeps me out a bit. They should save things like that for their dating sim game. XD
Of course the rest of the PV really plays up the beach setting. The members are seen running along the beach, surfing, and lounging in a hammock. And of course they have water splashed on them throughout the PV. Half because it’s a summer themed PV and half for obvious fanservice reasons.
But probably my favorite part of the entire PV are the scenes where they are performing live. I think it was an adorable idea to have they perform at they resturant work at. And you gotta love that the crowd was full of wota to clap along to the song.  Much like they had in Watarirouka Hashiritai’s Kanpeki guu no ne PV.
The only thing I think this PV is missing is bikinis. I know I always complain whenever AKB48 wears them as nothing more than fanservice. But this PV actually feels like it needs random bikini shots. It’s a summer themed PV afterall, it seems kind of empty without it.
Overall this PV is actually really well made. It looks like it cost a fairly decent amount to make. It’s a big step up from their first PV. It also kind of looks like the PV was filmed in Hawaii. But I didn’t really hear anything about that, so I’m going to assume it was just filmed in Okinawa or something. I enjoyed the PV from start to finish. There was always something different going on in each theme. There was a ton of variety to keep me engaged the whole way through. But AKB48 does have the resources to make awesome PVs.

Literally the first thing I thought when I saw this was, “why are they pouring salt into that bowl?” Obviously I then realzied I’m an idiot and it’s shaved ice. Whatever, we don’t really eat shaved ice that much in the US.

Of course no beach themed PV would be complete without running in slow motion.

I wonder if these are real fans or just random extras? Wham had members of their fanclub in their wake me up before you go-go video, so why not Not Yet? XD

Yuko and Rino look the cutest here.

More random slow motion. But this time it caught them at their worst. Lol.

Am I really making a cap to show that I like the credits? You bet I am! XD

Yuko’s a cutie.

Denied.

Rino manages to grab my attention from the background. *O*

You can clearly see the person they were serving. However, this angle still makes me feel like it supposed to show them serving me.

Adorable!

I find it hard focusing on anyone in this PV who isn’t Rino. She looks the best in this PV. Yuko’s a close second.

It’s a little unfair that only Yuko gets to surf.

I don’t get why Yui is bieng pushed so much. She falls a little flat to me.

How cute.

Lolz.

This is just so random.

Rino looks really pretty with this hair.

Cute. But Rie looks like a fish to me. XD

That’s actually really cool that their wristbands say Not Yet.

I guess Yui is a little pretty.

This is a cute ending pose.

no3b are downright criminal in new PV

After releasing another PV preview 2 days ago, no3b has finally released the full PV to Kuchibiru Furezu.

The PV seems to be exactly like the preview have shown. The girls of no3b are a pack of criminals that go on a crime spree. But their criminal acts are actually more inconvenient than menacing. They go to some sort of resturant and instead of robbing it they  just walk on top of the tables, and flip a few plates over, and look for things under the table. They also go to some office building and just ransack it. Throwing papers around and searching through files. They only time they actually commit a crime higher than breaking and entering or malicious destruction of property is when they steal the car and break the door off. Which is actually pretty cool. But I think it’s kind of lame that the only reason they do any of this is to find their gold microphone stands. But whatever. I guess they needed some way to tie in them singing the whole time.
Throughout the PV they also of course they are do a few things that are pretty cliché for criminals. Because apparently all criminals wear leather gloves, play poker, and wear sunglasses. Oh, I wouldn’t want to mess with them. XD
All of the joking aside, I do find this PV to be pretty enjoyable. The girls look absolutely gorgeous and sexy in their wannabe criminals attire. And I do like the whole breaking the law and tough image that the PV has. Even if at times it is overly dramatic and kind of phoned in. I still think it’s a cool theme and makes for an interesting PV.

Takamina look gorgeous in this PV.

Oh man, it looks that she’s wearing Patricia Field’s fingertip gloves. Yes, I’m a loser who follows fashion and trends. XD

Don’t switch the blade on the guy girl in shades. Somewhere Corey Hart is rejoicing.

Simply gorgeous.

I just cannot get over how good Minami looks.

No matter what Haruna, only looks adorable to me.

However, Mii-chan looks pretty tough.

Hot.

See, she just looks pretty here. I guess she didn’t get the memo to look tough/sexy.

Dramatic plate throwing.

Creepy face.

Super intense face.

Hot.

Lolz at how Haruna looks confused.

And they end with Minami’s creepy face.

Acchan’s PV has yet to bloom

The PV for Maeda Atsuko’s debut solo single has been released.

I was pretty excited to see the PV, because the preview made it seems like it was going to be a sad PV. But I don’t really think I understand the storyline so much. When I first saw the preview I thought Acchan’s husband was running off on her leaving her alone with their daughter. But after seeing the PV it’s actually her father who runs off and leaves her to take care of her sister. Which I get, but after that I’m not really sure. The entire PV shows Acchan with her sister. Playing with her and walking the streets with her. But then she loses her bus tickets and has to hitchhike. I thought all of that was supposed to symbolize her everyday struggle to take care of her sister. But it ends up just being a montage of one day. Which I should have picked up one since they both are wearing the same dress throughout the entire PV. In the end, the only reason they hitchhiked was so they could visit their dying mother in the hosptial.
And then that’s where I’m lost. If the entire point of the PV was for them to see their mother, what does the rest of it have to do with anything? Why did their father leave in the first place? And why did they emphasis on that if it wasn’t even important to the storyline? Why did they follow the two sisters around, and make it look like they were struggling, when only one day had passed? Why wasn’t the entire PV about them not being able to handle that their Mother is in the hospital?
I know the PV is supposed to be touching and sad, but there’s not really a distinct storyline to follow. So, I’m not exactly sure why I’m supposed to be sad or why any of this is happening. I guess they kind of touch on their sadness, when Acchan’s sister lines up all the plastic windmills. But other than that, nothing. Maybe I’m just dense and don’t see the obvious underline message of the PV. But I don’t actually see one.

The PV even starts with Acchan and her sister alone, but still in their house.

It then quickly flashes to Acchan looking completely sad on the side of the road. Which I guess is suppsosed to mean time has passed?

However, the scene where she is begging her father to stay they are wearing the same dresses. Actually Acchan’s outfit is different. But you can plainly see that her sister’s dress is the exact same one she wears throughout the PV. So, does that mean it’s the same day or a different day? And if it’s a different day, why is does her sister never change her dress?

To me, it looks like they are aimlessly wandering around because they don’t have a home. But if it’s the same day that’s impossible. I should really say time frame, because about 3 or 4 days actually pass throughout the PV.

I’m sure whatever this note from her father says helps the storyline too.

And her sister steals the plastic flowers,

for what appears to be a display in honor of their Mother I guess. XD

Then the man who gave them a ride looks at a picture of his own daughter. I guess to give the underline meaning to appreciate you children, or something. I have no idea.

Finally they are reunited with their mother.

Only for Acchan to show her a picture.

Sayaka’s debut PV is just as I expected

The PV for Kitahara Sayaka’s debut PV has finally been released. With only 2 weeks until the release date of the single.

The PV itself is fairly simple and boring. The PV preview a few days back pretty much showed the entire PV.  Most of the PV is really nothing more than close-ups. The first close-up scene is Sayaka standing on a set in front of a cloud background. It also flashes to the other close-up featured in this PV, Sayaka in her puffy dress in front of a laser background. And not even a cool laser background. It kind of looks like the laser backgrounds you used to take your school pictures in front of.
And then the rest of the PV is Yossie coaching her in various sports. Which are actually my favorite parts of the entire PV. It’s the only time there’s actually a bit of variety in the PV. But I actually don’t get why she’s gets coached so much. Despite Inazuma Eleven being about an anime about soccer, for some reason she gets coached in not only soccer but  baseball, volleyball, tennis, karate, and tug of war. It just doesn’t make sense to me. I guess that was the cheapest way they could spice up the PV, so it was nothing but close-ups.
But this has to be the cheapest PV in the history of UFA. I mean, Sayaka is an idol and she doesn’t even really dance in the PV. She does dance a bit in the video, but the choreography is so simple and lazy you can’t even tell it is choreography. I had no idea her random movements were an actual dance until she was doing the same movements in both close-ups. Beacause to me it honestly looked like she was just doing random things with her hands that all idols do during close-ups.

I absolutely love the dress.

Sayaka looks pretty, but I can’t get over how different she looks now

compared to then.

Apparently tapping to the beat is now considered dancing.

Everybody scream imi nai kedo.

This is pretty much like what the PV is like from here on out.

For some reason this is the only dance move I don’t think is stupid. Even though it’s only punching.

Volleyball practice, Koha would be proud. XD

Wow, this lighting actually makes Sayaka look really creepy and weird.

I just noticed this, but it looks like she fixed her teeth. They look much better now.

This face would probably creep me out more if Yossie didn’t make similar faces all the time while she sang.

Momusu shines for you only

After releasing the first PV preview just yesterday, Morning Musume has released the full PV for Only You. Which seems just a bit too early. But it seems like they are trying to ensure this single sells well.

When I saw the PV preview yesterday I knew exactly was this PV was going to offer. A video that look like all of their other vidoes. In more sense then one. It looks like all of their other PVs because it’s set up the same way: dance shot, close-ups, and that’s it. But it’s also like all the other PVs because we see them focusing on only the popular members. Mostly Ai-chan and Reina. With Risa and Sayumi being secondary. But in this PV we also get to see a lot of the newest predetermined most popular member/newly pushed girl, Sayashi Riho. I liked Riho from the beginning because she was amazing at singing and dancing. But she is a little arrogant. And having her being pushed so quickly is just going to feed her arrogance until she’s either Reina 2.0 or Miki 2.0. Which is starting to make me dislike her bit by bit. But that’s neither here nor there.
When I saw the PV preview I wasn’t really expecting anything more than just a pretty PV, filled with a lot of beauty shots. While the PV is mostly just that, they do try to add more elements to the PV. And they are trying to make it a little more interesting. And I definitely think they succeeded. In this PV there are 3 different close-up singing shot, 2 different places they are sitting down,  and a dance shot that flashes 3 different colors. And throughout the PV they really play with the gem/diamond theme. In their close up they are surrounded by diamonds, the lights in the dance shot are diamonds, and throughtout the PV little floating gems surround the members.
The PV isn’t 100% amazing or perfect. But it is heading in the right direction. These past 2 Morning Musume PVs in my opinion have been really great. It seems that they are really trying to build Momusu up again. They are taking these new members as a great opportunity to transform Morning Musume once again. Will they ever reach AKB48’s popularity? Absolutely not. Even at their peak they weren’t at that level. I would honestly settle for 100-200k. Then they would be at most Johnny’s levels, and we see all the pimping Johnny’s boys get.

I love the diamond lights. They are completely simple, but add such a pretty effect.

I love love love the floating gems, it makes the entire PV interesting to watch.

This whole setting is really beautiful. With the think red curtains, and gothic style candelabra and glasses. It gives it this very old fashioned almost 1800s’ feel. However, this whole scene makes me think of

this.

Or this. Either way really. XD

The dance is actually kind of nice. The individual moves look a little stupid, but when they are put together they work.

Reina looks beyond pretty here. The fabulous lighting and the glimmer of the gems just really bring out her face. She look gorgeous.

This is the first time that I thought Ai-chan looked good with her blonde hair. I used to think it didn’t suit her, but I think it actually might.

Can I just say how mind boggling it is that by just chaning the lighting the dance shot place looks like a completely different setting. Look:

Natural light.

Red light.

Pink light. That is just crazy! XD

Nice boots. XD

This is a pretty bad shot of Sayumi. She actually look kind of ugly.

Zukki looks really pretty even if she has to look sad.

Am I the only one who thinks Riho looks weird here? In the Maji Desu ka Ska PV she looked bright and cute. It looks like the lighting in this PV is weighing her down.

This hairstyle does nothing for Fuku-chan.

Poor Eripon still looks awkward and unnatural.

This close-ups are pretty, but I can’t get over the fact that those candles make it look like some kind of ritual. Lol.

Risa looks super pretty as usual.

A bullet Berryz can’t dodge

With a little more than 2 weeks until the release date, Berryz Koubou has finally revealed the full PV for their upcoming single, Ai no Dangan.

After being utterly dissapointed by Ai no Dangan’s PV, I shuttered to think what the full PV was actually going to be like. I was pretty happy to find that the PV wasn’t as terrible as I had imagined it would be. I thought the PV was going to be close-ups and dances scenes, and that’s it. Done, finished. However, that wasn’t the case. Yes, it was mostly just close-ups and dance scenes, but this is H!P we are talking about. They hardly every venture outside of that comfort zone. This PV actually did try to be more exciting and dynamic. It was trying really hard to be interesting and impress the viewer. It was like the little PV that could. However, this PV never started it’s engine down the proverbial train tracks. Instead we are left with remnants of what could have been a decent PV all jumbled together in hopes of making something watchable and half way decent.
There were a lot of gems in the PV that if they were executed correctly could have made for an outstanding and incredible PV.

For one the Abstract imagery throughout the PV. Abstract images and effects were scattered throughout the entire PV. But only used here and there and not really often enough. The images are mostly used for the dance scenes as something interesting to dance in front of. However, you hardly even notce it’s there with the mixure of Berryz themselves blocking the view, and quite honestly wanting to pay more attention to the girls themselves, since they are the main reason you’re watching the PV.
There are a few awesome scenes where they have purikura looking shapes pop up on the screen. Which by the way is my absolute favorite part of the whole PV. However, there are only flashes of these. And they are rarely used on the most opportune moments. They are the most visually appealing, and attention grabbing aspects of the PV. It’s just really sad that they are used more. And the one opportunity they had to go all out effects wise was the background of the close-ups. However, they completely blew it. I guess they didn’t want it to be too distracting so you wouldn’t focus on the girls. But instead the results was just a very muted, understated, and slightly boring background image.

The opening screen in really pretty. Too bad the rest of the PV can’t be this way. :/

Come on, with Maasa looking like this what are you going to really notice?

I love this effect.

Miya looks super pretty, but I just hate the background.

Here’s another cool effect. But it’s done at such an awkward time, that it’s more distracting than interesting.

I guess color changing was done to amp up the PV. I’m not really impressed though.

This isn’t really an effect, but I absolutely love the whole bond girls silhouettes.

The second thing being the projection images. Once I realized that the girls were on giant projection screens I was immediately intrigued by the whole concept. But yet again, it was a concept that looked much better on the drawing board. What the director of the PV must not of realized was if you film projection screens they quality is extremely poor. Mostly because any image blow up about 400 times the original size is going to massivly loose quality.
However, once I saw Berryz Koubou playing around with the projections by walking out of the screen, I was again mesmerized. Only to again be dissapointed. They only play with the screen that one time they walk out of it. I was expecting there to be more elements than that going on. They could have been trapped in the screen, done solo dances next to themself on the screen, or something else.

Why would anyone every purposely makes scenes with such bad quality?

I get that the projections were supposed to be creative, but ever single scene is just has horrible quality.

Not gonna lie, I was pretty blown away by this. XD

Another thing I didn’t like was the motorcycles. Midway through the PV for absolutely no reason at all there are scenes with Berryz and motorcycles. Standing by them, sitting on them, trying to look sexy by them. I do realize that this was done to add some sexy appeal to the PV. But it was completely pointless. How are motorcycles even remotely relevant for a song called Love’s Bullet or Bullet of Love?

Completely pointless.

The added effect doesn’t even make it relevant.

Of course I alo have to talk about the dance. The dance is completely awakward. It’s trying to be sexy and alluring but failing miserably. The dance moves themselves are too simple and sometimes stupid.

The dance consists of a lot of upward pointing.
Awkward.
WTF worthy hand holding move.
Lolz hip shake.
Here’s the completely unsexy butt shake.

There’s a lot of random shaking in this.

Crouching isn’t even a dance move!

Much like most recent H!P PVs the only redeeming quality about it is the girls. Berryz are looking quite cute and sexy in the video.

Risako looks gorgeous.

Momoko is a cutie.

  Gorgeous.

  Hot.

Maasa looks really pretty.

Kikka’s new video is full of opportunities

The PV for H!P’s newest soloist Kikkawa Yuu’s debut single, Kikkake wa YOU, was released recently.

I absolutely love Kikka and I absolutely love this PV. Even though we’ve already seen half of the PV through the last preview. I still find this PV to incredibly fresh and adorable. The PV itself is insanely simple and cheap looking. However, that aspect is completely overlooked because of Kikka herself. She is so energetic, happy, and absolutely charming throughout the entire PV that you can help but love her. She has this quirky cuteness that is reminiscent of Ayaya’s early days. The PV itself, and her facial extpressions remind me so much of Aya. However Kikka doesn’t seem nearly as eccentric as Aya is.
The PV really only has two scenes. The dance scene where Kikka is dancing in front of very 60’s inspired dots. And the scene where she’s in a room surrounded by a giant clock and multi colored ballons. There’s also a random scene at the end where she walks into a fun house type of room with mirrors. Which doesn’t really fit in the PV at all, and kind of throws everything off for a bit. But luckily that scene only lasts for a few seconds.

I really love this dot  background.

Kikka is super pretty.

I love how energetic the dance is.

I’m not sure why there’s a million balloons around.

It’s a little lame that most of the PV is about her putting the balloons back on the shelf. At least I think they’re balloons. XD That white dress is gorgeous by the way.

Adorable.

I think Kikka looks even prettier with her hair up like this.

This makes me think of Koha’s Koi Kana PV.

Love.

Such a cutie.

If Yuu was sleeping how did the clock hands disappear in the first place?

This my favorite part of the dance.

I still don’t see the point of this part.

This is adorable, sending a message on a heart shaped balloon.

KAT-TUN is just monochrome

The PV for KAT-TUN’s for new single White was released recently. And surprisingly not for that long. I expected it would be out for at least a week and a half already, but it hasn’t even been a week.

I can’t say that I was expecting much from this PV. After seeing the preview I knew exactly what the PV was going to look like. And it actually turned out exactly how I expected it to. Which makes me pretty disappointed. I was still holding out for this PV to have more going on then just walking around a college. However, that’s exactly what it consists of. The PV is just basically KAT-TUN walking around the halls of a school, with their close-ups even being in the hallway. They also wander around a library, but that part is extremely brief. I was also hoping for them to do a few scenes on the roof, because that is the only remotely interesting scene in the entire PV. But the are only on the roof at the very end of the PV. Which is completely stupid. And of course this PV reminds me a lot of C-ute’s Campus Life ~Umarete Kite Yokatta~ PV. Mostly because the have nearly identical themes. They even share a scene. I was really expecting a lot more similarites between the two PVs, but thankfully there weren’t.

I wonder where this was filmed for there to be a random white guy playing soccer.

Kame’s a cutie.

Even more people who aren’t Japanese.

Lolz at Maru’s and Koki’s hideous dorky smiles. And I hate how horrible the quality of this PV is. x_x

I don’t understand why they are in such awe just because Kame walked by.

Just like in C-ute’s PV.

See, exactly the same.

Now Maru has to look over just because he sees Taguchi. I don’t get it.

You can’t imagine how I annoyed I am by the fact that they don’t let you read the whole quote.

I’m not sure what the whole intense turning around scenes are about.

Time to have cheerleaders randomly thrown in for absolutely no reason at all.

Koki looks pretty hot here.

How come every member of KAT-TUN looks hideous when they smile?

Every member.

No exception.

Hot.

Finally the roof scene.

Kimi~

C-ute sparkles in new PV

While I was away with computer troubles it seems every single PV has come out, including the PV of C-ute’s new single Momoiro Sparkling. But it was pretty obvious that the PV would be out because it’s extremely close to the release date.

It seems like a lot of people really seem to dislike this PV. And I have to wonder, are they watching the same PV I am? Sure, the PV is actually pretty simple and does stick to the same old format. But I actually really love the PV. It is simple and cute. It has a very sweet and refreshing vibe to it. The main reason why I like this PV so much is the girls. Their outfits are incredible and they look absolutely amazing. This is seriously the best C-ute has ever looked. This is definitely the best Chisato has looked. Since they’ve been focusing on her more, she just keeps looking better and better. I mean, I never really noticed how beautiful she actually is. The PV as a whole for some reason reminds me a lot of Berryz Koubou’s Shining Power PV. It’s probably because of the solid pink background they are in front of in some shots. They did the same in Shining Power except there were like 5 different colors. In Shining Power they play ping pong, and in Momoiro Sparkling they play with water guns. The two PVs are also similar because how it’s set up. It’s hard to explain in words, but watch both PVs back to back and you’ll understand the vibe I’m talking about.

I think the dance is actually really cute. It’s one of the few occasions where totally simplistic dance moves don’t look completely ridiculous. Throughout the PV they try and actually pretend like they have something going on. With them jumping in the air, having balls thrown at them, and playing beach volleyball. But they kind of just phoned that in. Mostly because everything was filmed in the same 2 rooms. If they filmed in more than 2 places it wouldn’t appear to be so cheap looking. Like if they filmed some of it in an outside setting, people would probably complain less. But having them play volleyball the same place where they filmed the dance, makes it super obvious how small the budget was. I actually don’t mind how cheap the PV is or how cheap the overall PV was. The girls look great and they are acting pretty cute in the PV, that’s pretty much all that matters to me. Besides C-ute has always made the exact same PVs basically. Just think back at all their past PVs and you’ll see that they’ve always been pretty much the same. except for Campus Life and Aitai Lonely Christmas.

Ok, I could seriously do without the cabbage patch looking dance move.

I love how the dance area looks. I just wish the blocks didn’t remind me of Heroine ni Narou ka so much. :/

The bubbles kind of throw everything off. Mostly because they are so fake looking.

Now where have I seen something similar to this before?

Oh that’s right, in the Shining Power PV.

Maimi looks super pretty here.

I would kill for Chisa’s outfit. That skirt is amazing. *O*

For some reason this leg move is my favorite part of the dance.

Airi is insanely adorable.

Gorgeous, Chisa looks absolutely gorgeous.

Saki looks…well, at least her jewelry is cute.

I think my heart just skipped a beat.

Little MaiMai has been looking really mature lately.

Adorable.

I don’t know what’s funnier: this dance move or the fact that I actually like it.

Mai looks really cute here.

These mid-air shots are actually a little weird.

Daijoubu.

The first time I’ve ever seen anyone make a K with their body was when Reina did it in the Cinderella musical. I’ve thought it was cute ever since.

Cute.

Maimi is really cute.

This reminds me a lot of their limited edition cover.

Kanjani8’s animated new video

The lovely Sarahxx909 from twitter asked me if I would review Kanjani8’s T.W.L. PV. Which should have been done nearly 2 months ago. But my overall lack of twitter knowledge made me miss her tweet for a month. Apparently you can click and see tweets that you are mentioned in, who knew? Then my computer crashed making this post even more overdue.

I am always super excited when people ask me to write about something in my blog. However, it’s only happened on 2 occasions. And both times I was asked to review a Kanjnai8 PV. And that’s mostly because I hardly ever write about them. I have sort of a love hate relationship with Kanjani8. There are only like 4 singles I like by them, and because of that I never really listened to any more of their music. You’d think because I love Ryo-chan that by default I’d love Kanjani8 more. But that’s just not really the case. They are apparently supposed to have the most personality out of any JE group, but I’ve only seen them on Heyx3 twice. I’m getting way off topic though.

A while ago Kanjani8 released a double A-side as part of them releasing 3 consecutive singles. And I didn’t really bother listening to either song. Mostly because, as I said, I’m not the biggest K8 fan. That and the fact that it was for Shin-chan I figured the song would be pretty awful. T.W.L. as a song is actually better than I expected it to be. The song is actually pretty catchy and fun. Of course the chorus is my absolute favorite part. Mostly because the verse is pretty tame compared to the chorus. I also really love Subaru’s solo at the end. The echo effect is completely amazing. But the only thing I don’t like about the song is, I do not for the life of me know what T.W.L. is actually supposed to mean. I swear it’s Deco motion all over again.

I was expecting Kanjani8 to go all out for this PV. But it’s actually a lot more low key then I expected. Of course,  there is still the over the topness that makes Kanjani8, Kanjani8. But there’s only like a touch of craziness here and there. It’s almost like a perfect balance of low key and over the top. I’m actually kinda dissapointed by that. I’m still waiting for a PV as weird, crazy, and slightly embarassing as It’s My Soul. The T.W.L. PV is mostly just them standing around in painter’s outfits singing, with the occasional weird face in the background. The only time the PV gets laughable and WTF worthy are the scenes where they are with the cartoon screens. And pretty much only Ryuhei actually tried to make stupid faces.

Let the insanity begin.

I really love the scenes with their names. The background is really awesome.

You looks cuter everytime I see him.

Ok, maybe it’s not cool in red.

Mostly because it reminds me of this. XD

Ryo looks great as always.

Lolz at random butt shake.

All these Shin-chans are annoying me.

Lolz. Ryuhei always makes the best faces.

Ryo is love.

There’s just no words for this.

Ryuhei’s face is priceless, but I don’t get why Subaru is trying to look cool.

Incredible. Ryhuei is the only one worth watching in this PV.

It’s like no one else is even trying.

Doragon ga hi wo fuita.

The hearts makes ttis really cute.

This is both hilarious and kinda hot. XD

Can I just laugh at the fact that like at this moment it sounds like they are singing the word blowing. XP

Tacchon’s closeups might be just as weird as Ryuhei’s.

Like I said, no one else is trying nearly as hard as Ryuhei. XD

LOLZ.

Oh Ryuhei, never stop making weird faces.

Lol.

For some reason this made me laugh. I don’t even know why. XD

SUPER GIRLS show off more then their hearts in new PV

Avex idol group SUPER GIRLS, have released their PV for Max! Otome Gokoro off their 2nd single. Also since I’m pretty sure their 2nd single is a double A-side, so most likely expect another PV from this single.

I have been following SUPER GIRLS almost since their formation. But I didn’t really take notice until they announced their major debut and released their first PV for Miracle ga Tommanai. And I have to say that I like SUPER GIRLS. I like their look and overall sound. But I have to say at their best SUPER GIRLS are and always have been walking idol cliches. Fans have been complaining about and noticing their similarities to other idol groups since their first PV. And like I said in my PV review of Miracle ga Tommanai it was pretty much a carbon copy of every idol PV out there. And that seems to be what SUPER GIRLS are continuing to do. They look at whatever is popular in idol PV and copy it to get more exposure and fans. People like to say that SUPER GIRLS are mostly copying AKB48, because AKB48 whole theme is wearing school uniforms and they have bikini PVs. But honestly SUPER GIRLS takes elements from all the idol groups out there. The Ganbatte Seishun PV not only reminds me of AKB48, but their are some similarities to Buono and S/mileage PVs. Even ManoEri’s Seishun no Serenade was filmed in a school.
But with the Max! Otome Gokoro PV it seems like they just had to make a PV that featured everyone’s favorite fanservice, the bikini PV. When I first watched the PV of course I was unimpressed because to me the bikini PVs are extremely flat. And not just because I’m a girl and the fanservice is wasted on me, but because I think bikini PVs are getting really old. AKB48 has done 2 now, Berryz Koubou and Morning Musume had those bikini PVs in their Allo-Hello DVDs. And I can see as a new idol group who is competing with AKB48, they felt they had to do a bikini themed PV but really they didn’t. Look at idol group Ebisu Muscats. Despite being an idol group made up of gravure and AV idols, they have yet to release a bikini PV. And when Momoiro Clover had a summer song. They didn’t wear bikinis either. They opted to make it a more playful PV. And that’s pretty much how I prefer my idols to be. Cute, fun, silly, playful, and singing extremely upbeat and happy music. Which is why I adore SUPER GIRLS. Yes, they might be every idol cliche in the book, but I like idol cliches. They turn out to be my favorite idol groups, songs, and PVs. If I wanted anything beyond regular idol fare, I obviously wouldn’t be listening to idol music in the first place.

But none of that really has anything to with the Max! Otome Gokoro PV. Reading all of that above you’d probably think I didn’t like the PV but I actually did. Because despite of it being obvious fanservice which does nothing for me, they still managed to do it in a very cute and playful way. They weren’t rubbing lotion on each other or having a pillow fight in lingerie. It was more or less and innocent PV that they just happened to be wearing bikinis in. Well, as innocent as dancing in bikinis can be received. And being a fan as idols as long as I have I realized these PVs are done mostly for fanservice. But they are also done in good fun, to be playful and tease the viewer. Which is an aspect I can appreciate. I like the playful aspect of this PV. How they also added elements of humor. I like when my idols parade around acting all idoly. Whether it’s in bikinis, or school uniforms, or hideous concert outfits.

Of course the PV has to start off showing their school uniforms.

Let the idol deja vu begin!

It wouldn’t feel quite like an idol PV without an insanely simple dance.

And the bikinis begin just a little before the minute mark. They actually really pretty though. I completely would steal snorkle girl’s and Rika’s. XD

Adorable! Ami is the cutest and definitely one of my favorites.

Kaede is really pretty. She almost looks like Saori’s twin to me.

I can totally see why Rika is on of the most popular members. However, Rino is looking really adorable too.

Cute.

This is the first time Mirei actually looks pretty.

Lolz.

I think I’m Ami biased.

For some reason I really love this scene. XD

Look at Ruka looking all cute.

Words can’t even begin to describe how random this is.

And now there in yukatas for some reason.

Aya looks cute here.

Awkward dance move.

Not sure how this is supposed to be scary.

I think it’s actually really cute to have them pretend to film and direct.

Lolz.

Everyday is a repeat for AKB48

The full PV for AKB48’s 21st single, Everyday, Kachuusha, has been released. And if you ask me it was released extremely fast. The PV preview just came out 2 days ago, and I didn’t even get a chance to post about that yet. Since I was on break from blogging because I was sick, I’ve been a little lazy when it comes to blogging. I seriously need to get back into the groove. XD

Anyway, the main storyline of the PV is AKB48 playing homage to their earlier PVs. Now on the surface that sounds like a completely interesting and unique idea. And it is. But I can’t be the only one out there who also thinks it’s extremely arrogant. AKB48 has only been around for almost 6 years and had one million seller, and already they are parading around like they are incredible. To me, playing homage to past PVs is basically saying, “Look at our humble beginnings and now look at the amazing success we are now.” Morning Musume has released over twice the amount of singles they have, and have been around for over twice as long as they have. And yet there’s no homage PV. Arashi has been really popular a lot longer than AKB48 has, and they haven’t released an homage PV. It seems like AKB48 has to shove their popularity in your face, like “don’t forget we’re the #1 female idol group, ok.” I don’t know maybe I’m just over thinking things but that is the absolute first thing that I thought of. It just screams arrogance to me. AKB48 isn’t nearly high enough in their popularity level to be doing this. And they haven’t been around long enough to make a PV like this. This is a legit we’ve been around for 20 years so lets recreate all the good times, type of PV. While I do love the idea of recreating past PVs I just thing it’s way too early for AKB48. The whole PV is premature.

Another reason why I don’t particularly love this PV isI think it’s also extremely lazy and unimaginative. It seems like they couldn’t really think of anything to do for the PV so they decided to just recreate past PVs. And it actually seems more like an excuse for them to wear bikinis. Because even though it’s supposed to be a homage to their past PVs, it basically focuses on Ponytail to Shushu. And obviously the sexier the PV is the better the song sells.

Since this single is devoid of its own PV, I’m just going to point out all the other PVs I notice.

Already this is going to be easy.

I think it’s pretty obvious there was a similar scene in Ponytail to Shushu.

AKB48 actually ride bikes a lot in their PVs.

But since Acchan is riding along the beach I’m going to guess it’s supposed to be the Aitakatta PV.

To me this looks like a direct reference to the Ponytail to Shushu PV.

However, you can argue that it can’t be since they are dancing on grass and not a beach. In the Aitakatta and Iiwake Maybe PVs they dance on bare grass. But I still think it’s supposed to be Ponytail to Shushu.

They made this incredibly obvious.

However, the original confrontation from the Iiwake Maybe PV is setup different.

Yet another nod to Ponytail to Shushu.

This is really starting to annoy me. :/

Here’s Iiwake Maybe again.

Why do they keep using the same PVs?

Finally a new PV reference.

This time it’s Sakura no Hanabiratachi.

Even something as simple as Acchan on the phone is a reference.

It happens shortly in the Oogoe Diamond PV.

I think this is supposed to be the fight scene from Oogoe Diamond.

However, in the original Sae doesn’t hit Atsuko.

Peeking at dancing.

Is yet another reference to Oogoe Diamond.

Finally another new PV.

Which is obviously Namida Surprise.

Of course they just had to squeeze in another Ponytail to Shushu reference.

They just had to.

When I first saw flower petals falling I thought it was supposed to be Sakura no ki ni Narou.

But then I realized it was supposed to be Baby Baby Baby.

Obvious peephole is obvious.

Of course it’s from the Heavy Rotation PV.

A scene from my absolute favorite AKB48 single.

Keibetsu Shiteita Aijou.

Sleepy Acchan.

Which is obviously from 10nen Zakura.

This has to be a nod at the fact that some of BINGO was filmed on a boat.

However, there was never a scene like that in BINGO.

Well there you go most of the homage parts of the PV. Obviously I didn’t do every single one. Mostly because that would have taken even longer than this post already took to make.

Here’s the PV. Watch it while you can.

S/mileage goes hog wild in new PV

The PV for S/mileage’s upcoming single, Koi ni Booing Buu, has finally been released. Which is weird because the date on their youtube channel is April 6th. Which means they uploaded the video days ago, but then kept it on private for a few days. Which, if you ask me, is completely stupid.

While I am a little disappointed by the song itself, With it being lack luster during the verses and then adorable during the chorus. I am actually really impressed with the PV. I stand by my previous statement that this is the best H!P PV released this year. I mean, this is just S/mileage at it’s peak. Their goofy, cutesy, childish, and all around fun theme just shines through in the PV. I mean obviously S/mileage isn’t supposed to be a mature idol group expected to be taken seriously. Can you even take a group who wears pig snouts and has the word oink in their song title seriously? And that’s what I love about S/mileage. It’s actually really refreshing. When practically every other idol group out there is trying to be overly sexy, it’s nice to see S/mileage just being cute.
I also really love the overall theme of this PV. It’s like a cute comic book theme. So, there’s lots of random letters popping out, and action bubbles. There’s just a lot of comic book font and vibrant backgrounds. And I think it’s absolutely adorable. It makes the PV extremely intresting and unique.

I love how with this one scene you can already tell how vivid and fun this PV is going to be.

  WTF does cyuiiiiin mean?

Saki looks absolutely gorgeous. Lately she’s been looking better and standing out more to me than Yuuka.

The dance is pretty boring. :/

Adorable! I might be alone on this, but I absolutely love the pig ears and snouts.

Saki looking too cute for words.

Yuuka is such a cutie.

  S/mileage’s surprise English lessons.

  Adorable!

I’m trying to figure out what they are doing here, but I just have no clue. XD

I love the comic book bubbles.

Saki just keeps looking cuter and cuter.

I love Kanon. She looks super cute here.

How can anyone not love Yuuka in here?

  Seriously the robot?

This is cute, but I hate how they always have to shows idols with cake.

Aww they are wearing tails too. I had no idea.

  Baka!

Wow, look how incredible Ayaka looks.

I have no words for this. XD

This Momusu is for real!

After what seems like never ending teasing in the form of around 8 PV previews, we finally have the full PV for Morning Musume’s upcoming Maji Desu ka Ska single. I’m sure there are some fans who have seen this PV already, because a fan made PV mashing together all the previews clips made its way on youtube. However, I decided to wait until the official PV came out.

Since this song had A LOT of PV previews us fans have already seen a great deal, it not all, of the PV already. (I didn’t watch them on ONRYU yet, so half the PV was still a mystery to me. :P) And I understand for that reason a few fans might be bored of the PV by now, or think that it’s not fresh anymore. But I wholeheartedly disagree with that. I have been absolutely in love with this PV from the first PV preview. The PV is fun, it’s upbeat, cute, vivid, and energetic. And it means Momusu is moving in the right direction, going back to it’s energetic and slightly childish era. Sure, this PV might not be up to the over the top energy and cuteness of Koko ni Iruzee yet. But give the 9th gen a break. This is their first single. I’m sure they are leading up to it. Besides, Mr. Moonlight and Shabondama weren’t over the top energy, and look how great the singles after them were. Despite, everything fans say about the PV, I actually really love it. It’s exciting and fun from start to finish. I enjoyed every minute of the PV. My absolute favorite scenes were the ones with the Maji Desu ka Ska letters, and the walking close-ups.

I still love the set. The Maji Desu ka Ska set. It’s simple, but still adds a fun aspect to the PV.

Reina looks the absolute best in this PV. This style has always suited her.

Riho’s close-up looks effortless. She did a good job of looking naturally cute and energetic.

Erina on the other hand was less impressive. She looks cute enough but it seems like she didn’t really know what to do with her hands. XD

Zukki probably did the best in the first round of close-ups.

  Mizuki came off really charming.

I can’t say this enough, I love these outfits!

  Adorable!

Sayumi showing them how it’s done. Seriously, Sayumi always has the most interesting close-ups.

  Ai-chan looks gorgeous.

The rockette’s style kicking is still my favorite part of the dance.

  Zukki is so cute.

There’s a smile! Eripon wants to bee seen as the most energetic member, but she is always too scared or shy to smile in pictures or on camera. It’s nice to see one now.

No one can compete with Kanon’s smile. *O*

I love Fuku-chan’s outfit. And adorable cap is adorable.

Cute pose.

I still don’t get what’s up with Reina’s hair brushing dance move. XD

I still hate Aika’ outfit. :/

Of course Aika had to be Hanasaka Jiisan. All the Aika haters are gonna love this. :/ Btw, I’m like 80% sure it’s Aika. 20% sure it’s Reina. They have similar noses and mouth areas. So, XD.

Mecha kira kira hana sakasou! Lolz at it being sunflowers rather than actual cactus flowers.

This was probably my favorite part of the PV, when the giant leaders flashed really fast during the chorus to spell Maji Desu ka Ska.

I love, love, love Reina’s outift.

Cheap effect, yet still really awesome.
