Yutorin turns 18!

It’s August 10th, so you know what that means. My favorite underage JE boy turns 18. Even though Yuto is only exactly 1 year and 4 months younger than me, I still felt creepy because he wasn’t 18. I’ll probably rejoice more when Anderson Casey turns 18. I’ve been perving on him since he was 15. Him and his “I look exactly like someone you know in real life” face. But I don’t really follow Juniors. Therefore, Yuto is still was my favorite underage JE boy.

I’m not even sure why Yuto is my favorite member of Hey! Say! JUMP. He’s not the best looking member, which would be Ryosuke or Yabu. He’s not the funniest member, which would be Inoo or Hikaru. But there’s just something about Yuto that attracts me to him. He’s got this dorky and quirky charm that I find appealing. Yuto is just so cute and loveable.

To commerorate this milestone calls for a picspam of epic proportions.

Also here’s a Yuto heavy live performance. Since Yuto hasn’t gotten a solo song in a hundred years, this performance of Dash is the closest he’s come in a long time.

Hey! Say! JUMP-Magic Power preview

A short radio rip of Hey! Say! JUMP’s upcoming single, Magic Power, was released a few days ago. I honestly don’t know how I missed it until now. XD

As expected the song is pretty childish. But not as childish as I expected. It’s obviously not one of my favorite Hey! Say! JUMP A-sides, but it’s not so terrible that I can’t listen to it. The music also has more of a motown feel then I thought it would have. The song is pretty cute I’ll give it that, but after how mature Over was I was looking forward to HSJ moving away from their cute image. But as the youngest Johnny’s group (NYC technically is, but they are more of a sub-group.) I guess there’s no escaping it for now.

The line distribution is pretty awful. So far only Chinen and Ryosuke have solo lines. Just like I feared would happen. This is only half the song, so I suppose there could be more member’s solos in the second half. But I wouldn’t bet on it.

Hey! Say! JUMP to release 8th single

It was recently announced that Hey! Say! JUMP will be releasing their 8th single. The single is titled Magic Power and will be released sometime in September. The song will be used as the Japanese theme for the Smurfs movie, since Ryosuke and Chinen are voice acting in it.

I’m actually really excited that Hey! Say! JUMP is releasing a new single so quickly after their last one.  However, I’m not really excited that it’s being used for the theme to the Smufs movie. It most likely means that the song will be pretty immature. Now, Hey! Say! JUMP usually releases pretty simple and slightly immature songs because they are the youngest Johnny’s group, and most likely have a lot of young fans. But having a theme for the Smurfs will probably make the song even more immature than usual. Probably extremely child like. Which I’m not 100% excited for. But I guess if I can listen to Berryz sing about a monkey dance and watch S/mileage dance around in pig ears, I can listen to HSJ sing about Magic Power. However, if it’s on the same level as Little Princess Pri, I might have to cut my ears off. XD

The song is apparently going to be motown. And the lyrics will be based on the Smurfs catchphrase “Even if we are small, if we work together we can do anything!” Which alone means the song is 100% going to be super childish. And forgive me if I’m wrong, but since when do the Smurfs have a catchphrase? Didn’t they mainly just say everything was smurf this and smurf that? I’m actually not a 100% sure on that. Growing up the Smurfs and Snorks annoyed me to no end.

This song also marks the first single with the new 9 member Hey! Say! JUMP. I wish I could say this will be the only 9 member single, they most likely have way more to come. Like all of their singles from now on. And since Ryosuke’s and Chinen’s involvement in the smurfs movie was announced a while ago they might have had to re-record this song without Ryutaro. Oh, who am I kidding? They probably only had to re-edit the song. They probably just deleted Ryutaro’s lines in the chorus, and his lines with 1-3 other members. Because there’s no way that Ryutaro would have had a solo line in this single anyway. Actually there’s probably not really a chance for any member to have a solo line, who’s name isn’t Ryosuke or Chinen. Since the song is for their movie, it probably gives them an excuse to turn this into a Ryosuke and Chinen centered single. (As if their other songs aren’t like that.) I mean this could possibly turn out to be another Hitomi no Screen, but with a little Chinen thrown in. I shudder to think that.

Morimoto Ryutaro on indefinite suspension!

A completely unexpected and shocking scandal is rocking the idol world. Hey! Say! JUMP’s youngest member, 16 year old Morimoto Ryutaro, has been caught underage smoking. And because of this scandal Ryutaro will cease all of his activities in the entertainment field indefinitely. He will also be edited out of the cover of Hey! Say! JUMP’s new single, Over, and will not participate in the Summary concerts.

Here are the larger pictures of him smoking:

Is anyone else having really bad Kago Ai flashbacks? All Ryutaro needs to do is date a 40 year old woman, and he’s as good as history. All joking aside, this is a completely serious issue. Not only is underage smoking illegal it’s also taken very seriously in Japan. It’s easy for fans living in the West to dismiss this scandal as not a big deal at all. When underage celebrities in America are caught doing a lot worse, nothing happens to them. Back in the day Lindsay Lohan drank underage, Taylor Momsen flashed her underage boobs, and Miley Cyrus was caught smoking “salvia.” Among many other underage scandals that I’m sure exist, but don’t know of off the top of my head. But for some reason in the US they got a slap on the wrist, and people didn’t seem to really care. However, just because America seems to be more lenient about these things, doesn’t mean Japan should or will be. We’re talking about idols here. Idols who get kicked out of their group for being caught with a boyfriend. (Well, that only happens to female idols. I won’t get into how unfair and sexist that is.)

People should legit be worried that Ryutaro might never return to Hey! Say! JUMP again. I am sure everyone is familiar with the big NEWS scandals of 2005 and 2006. First NEWS and Kanjani8 member Uchi Hiroki was suspended indefinitely for underage drinking. Then in 2006 NEWS member Kusano Hironori was caught for the same thing. Which of course lead NEWS to go on a year long hiatus. And we can all see how that turned out for them. They never returned to their groups. And are pretty much in obscurity. It took Uchi 3 years before his comeback solo concert. And since then all he’s been up to is random appearances on Shounen Club, is part of the Johnny’s New Year’s Countdown, and he was in a drama. And that’s it. In the 3 years since his scandal he’s basically done nothing. He’s only done the little bit he has done because he was a fairly popular member. But what about Kusano? Kusano, who to this day I am convinced is completely innocent. If you look at the pictures it does not look like beer. In Kusano’s parting words he said something along the lines of even though I am compeltely innocent I will dissapear from the public anyway. It was completely sad. And what is Kusano up to? Nothing! He studied dance in New York for a year and was a model for some random brand. But his pictures are still blurred in tabloid papers. All because Kusano wasn’t that popular. Uchi, who was drunk in public and was a public nuisance, got to make his comeback. But Kusano, who is seemingly innocent and even claims to be innocent, has done virtually nothing. And to be honest, none of that makes sense to me. The only logical reason for it has to be because Uchi is more popular and can make more money then Kusano can.

And if Kusano isn’t doing anything after his scandal because of popularity, where does that leave Ryutaro? Ryutaro is obviously one of the least popular Hey! Say! JUMP members. He’s on the bottom tier alongside Inoo Kei and Okamoto Keito.

Fans could also argue that Ryutaro will be fine because smoking isn’t as a big a deal as drinking is. Which seems a little weird to me. I don’t really think you can judge the 2 in that way. Underage is underage. Whether it’s drinking or smoking. That’s just my opinion though. Obviously JE thinks it’s a huge deal. It’s such a big deal that he is being treated to the same punishment that Uchi and Kusano were put under for a quote unquote less severe scandal. Also, note that Ryutaro was put on an indefinite suspension. Indefinite! Which means this suspension can last for however long Johnny’s sees fit. 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years, or never if he feels like it! Don’t just assume that everything will be ok for Ryutaro because you feel it should be. Or that you feel it’s not a big enough scandal to warrent an indefinite suspension. The bottom line is Johnny’s makes the decisions. He decides what’s fair and what’s unfair. What’s a scandal and what isn’t. And the other bottom line is, Ryutaro broke the law. Which in turn makes the entire agency he works for look bad. I’ve said this before, I will bet you a million dollars that all idols, yes ALL idols male and female, have to sign a morals clause. And if they break that at any time the agency has every right to fire them, or punish them however they see fit.
On the other hand, maybe fans are right and smoking scandals aren’t that big of a deal. And Ryutaro will eventually return to Hey! Say! JUMP. So, let’s look at the only other idol smoking scandal I know of, Aibon’s. In 2006 Hello!Project member, and member of idol group W, Kago Ai was caught smoking underage. In a very grainy and unclear tabloid picture I might add. Aibon was immediately suspended for one year and W’s next single was put on hold. She then was later fired after being caught in another scandal. When Aibon eventually made her comeback she talked to teenagers and encouraged them to not smoke underage. She said that one foolish and careless act ruined her life. In responce the people she talked to said how they were shocked and disgusted by her scandal. They couldn’t believe she would do something like that. Not only because she seemed to be a good girl, but because she was a role model. However, Kago Ai was extremely popular, and therefore lucrative for H!P. I firmly believe she was only given such a small hiatus because of her popularity. And we all know that if a member of H!P is popular enough their scandals get swept under the rug or are more lenient. Nothing came of Tanaka Reina’s, Kamei Eri’s, or Natsuyaki Miyabi’s boyfriend scandals. But less popular members like Arihara Kanna and Murakami Megumi were given the boot. Or excuse me, they left to “continue their studies.” And even popular members Yaguchi Mari and Fujimoto Miki were forced to resign as leader of Morning Musume after their boyfriend scandals. H!P scandals also come down to popularity, and their position within the group. Obvious a leader in a scandal was setting a horrible example for the rest of the group.

All Morimoto’s future really comes down to is luck and popularity. Ryutaro obviously doesn’t have popularity on his side. So, fans just have to hope that Johnny realizes that smoking underage isn’t really that big of a deal. I mean, apparently Johnny knew Ryutaro was smoking from time to time. I think that will play a big role in how long he is under suspension.

But for me personally, I actually don’t care that much about this scandal. Yes, it is sad that he’s under suspension and he may never come back. And that HSJ might never be 10 members again. Or that fans are left hanging about his fate like they were with Uchi and Kusano. All of that is incredibly sad. But Ryutaro isn’t really my favorite member. And as selfish as it sounds, I’m just happy it’s not a member I actually care about. That and the fact that I don’t really feel any sympathy for him. It was his fault. He was the one that not only broke the law, but was stupid enought to let people take pictures of it. The one picture he was legit caught off guard. But the picture where he’s wearing the black shirt, he’s trying too hard to look cool, and it looks almost like he’s modeling for the person who’s taking the picture. If Ryutaro can’t do the time, he shouldn’t have done the crime.

Hey! Say! JUMP don’t go overboard enough

After waiting for what seems like an eternity, the full PV for Hey! Say! JUMP’s new single, Over, has finally been released. With only 3 days until the single is released! That’s some brilliant marketing right there. XD

Over the past 2 weeks we’ve been pretty much bombarded with PV previews, 3 in total. So, it felt like we saw a good chunk of the PV. And it turns out that we actually did see most of it, because there’s really not much going on in the PV. The PV is 6 minutes long, you’d think that they would do something exciting with the extra minute and a half. However, the entire time before the song starts is spent on the phone. I mean, I know the whole song is like a phone conversation, but the talking in the beginning was actually a little boring. What I did understand of it was, apparently Rysouke was dumped and the members are trying to cheer him up. Which actually fits perfectly with the song. But I honestly could have done with out. It’s just like when AKB48 adds like 4 minutes to their PVs to add talking and a storyline. IBut I find it  completely boring and I usually just skip it. XD
Off subject, but I understood like 90% of what they were saying, so yay for me. I understood pretty much everything except for Hikaru, the last thing Daiki said, and the last bit of what Ryutaro and Yabu said. No one cares though, so, I digress.
The rest of the PV are dance scenese and then their close up shots. Over the past few weeks I’ve gotten over the ugly dance set, and it doesn’t really botther me so much anymore. It’s not spectacular, but it could have been much worse. The close-ups are what I have a problem with. The whole PV is filmed in a school. Mostly the hallways and common area. Didn’t we just have a JE PV insanely similar to this one? Or are we supposed to forget that KAT-TUN’s White PV exists? And then the rest of the close-ups/group shots are in slow motion with random objects flying around. Which is what they did in their last PV for Arigatout ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo. But in this PV they did do it a lot more and in a more artistic way to make the PV more interesting. But it is still completely redundant.
You would think with all this scrutiny and harsh criticism that I hate the PV, but I don’t really. But I don’t love it either. It’s somewhere more in the middle for me. The guys look super cute, they are wearing normal clothes instead of ridiculous costumes, and the overall look is 100 times better than their last PV. Yuto. Especailly since he looked super adorable. Much like any PV, there’s obvious pros and cons. This PV is probably at about a 6 for me. And is probably their 2nd best PV. However, this PV needed more

Ryosuke looks gorgeous, as usual.

Has anyone else noticed that Daiki has been getting extra attention lately? He’s the 2nd main focus in this PV after Ryosuke.

Hikaru’s hair is pretty unfortunate in this PV.

Ashita wa ashita no kaze yo fuke~ Yuto’s adorable and said the most adorable line of encouragement.

The face Ryosuke has to make to show that he’s being cheered up is so stupid and obviously fake.

Hot. Ryosuke looks innocent and sexy at the same time.

Can I just point out how hilarious it is that Ryosuke is wearing a hair clip? Johnny’s: making your favorite idols act effeminate since the 1960’s. XD

Yesh, head on this isn’t really a good hairstyle.

I still don’t understand the random obelisks. But whatever.

Yabu looks hot, but Keito is all derp in the background. Lolz.

I really need to stop making caps of just Ryosuke. But he looks so good in this PV.

Yuto, why so serious apathetic?

I love how Daiki is the only member to not make the same exact expression during this random epileptic montage.

Just incredible. *O* No other member is trying half as hard as Ryosuke is too look hot. I kinda wish they were.

Takaki actually looks pretty cute with this hair.

There’s just no words.

Rabbit face.

How adorable.

I don’t really like that my favorite are shoved to the back.

Random floating objects, where have I seen that before?

Oh yeah that’s right, the Arigatou PV.

Cute.

I love how Inoo is trying to look cool here. It’s not really working for him though. XD

Hot.

Adorable! This post has become so Ryosuke biased, but I don’t even care. H’es shown the most and looks the best. What do you want from me?

Of course it ends with a random Ryosuke butt shot. I mean, can you think of another way to end it? But seriously lolz.

Hey! Say! JUMP-Over PV preview

A morning show has just released a PV preview for Hey! Say! JUMP’s upcoming new single Over. The preview is extremely brief, at only 30 seconds long. And because of that there’s probably a lot more to the PV than we are seeing. At least I hope there is.

At first watch, the PV looks completely simple and boring. Most of the PV preview shows the dance scene. The dance scene takes place outside, which I’m pretty happy about. Single there last PV was completely CG, it’s nice to see them in a real setting. It shows HSJ dancing on mirrored floor in front of 4 obelisk looking statues. Which makes no sense and is a little WTF worthy, since the song has absolutely nothing to do with Egypt. Also, I hate how the dance itself is set up. I can’t stand that my beloved Yuto is shoved in the back. Yeah, he’s actaully smack dab in the middle of the dance, but he’s still in the second to last row. Which I do not like at all. I mean, I actually confused him with Keito fro a second. That’s how bad his placement is. While I’m talking about the dances I have to say, I really love the outfits they are wearing. Since they are pretty much just regular clothes. But this is Johnny’s, you never know what hideous outfit they might be wearing in their PV. Just like the hideous dance outfits from their last PV for Arigatou ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~.
Toward the end of the PV they also show the members on the phone. Which was obviously going to happen in the PV, because of the lyrics. But I actually thought that that was going to be the main part of the PV. It still very well could because the PV preview shows the PV from the chrous, not the beginning.
But I don’t like how they are doing the phone scenes. They look happy and are passing the phone around. Which is a little harsh considering it’s supposed to be about ending things. Or at least the verse of the song is. The chorus is about staying together, which makes no sense. But I’m done with trying to figure out the lyrics. XD

Hey! Say! JUMP’s first single of 2011

It was announced recently that Hey! Say! JUMP will be releasing their first single of 2011. The single is titled Over and will be released on June 29th. What’s even more exciting is that Ai ING ~Aishiteru~ will be encluded as one of the B-sides. If that wasn’t exciting enough, the other B-sides will be Hey! Say! BEST’s new song Screw and Hey! Say! 7’s new song You Got More. Which marks the first time both Hey! Say! BEST and Hey! Say! 7 have their own B-side songs. We all know that Hey! Say! 7 had their own song, Kagayaki Days, featured on Hitomi no Screen, which was a little unfair if you ask me, because BEST didn’t get one.
And can I just say how nice it is to finally know what all the new songs from Hey! Say! JUMP are being used for. I’m a little sad that they aren’t for a new album, since it’s been nearly a year since their first album was released. But hopefully we’ll get a new Hey! Say! JUMP album in late 2011 or early 2012.

Hey! Say! JUMP (Actually 5/10 of JUMP) preformed this song on last weeks’s episode of Yan Yan Jump so fans get to hear a nice preview of it. Instead of all those choppy concert rips. XD
When I heard that HSJ was releasing a new single I was a little worried that I wouldn’t like the song. Their last single, Arigatou ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~ was one of my least favorite JUMP singles, and I was a little under whelmed by Ai ING ~Aishiteru~. But after hearing Over I was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely love the song. The music has this sort of European dance music vibe to it. And reminds me of a far less intense version of Shinku. I’m a little sad that during the chorus the music doesn’t pick up at all. However, you can’t even notice that aspect because during the chorus the singing picks up signifigantly and is very powerful. I also really love the bridge of the song. That’s where a lot of nice high notes take place. What’s also surprising about this song is Hikaru raps in it and it actually doesn’t ruin the entire song. Usually when Hiakru raps it’s either insanely soft with singing over it so you can barely notice it like in Ultra Music Power. Or the lyrics are so bad that it throws the whole song off like in Score. Every once in a while Hikaru’s raps actaully enhance the song like in Ai Scream. I think Hikaru’s rapping actually compliments the song nicely. But that’s probably because he’s rapping very softly and not overdoing it. I also really love how the song is supposed to be sung like a phone call. At least that’s what I got from the lyrics and the random phone dance move they do in the begining. I also love the random speaking part in the begining. And of course I loved Ryosuke’s with you towards the end of the song. Just because I’m a sucker for Japanese accents.
The only real fault of this single is the lyrics. At first I thought the song was supposed to be about ending a relationship that’s not going well. But then the chorus basically says no matter what I’ll stand by you and support you. I don’t know, that contradiction makes me confused about the overall meaning of the song.

The performance itself was actually pretty good. The dance was a little simple and lame. But it’s not like HSJ is really known for having the best dances ever. I don’t think I’ve ever actually liked any of their dances. I think Deep Night was like the only one. Also, I wish the rest of JUMP was there just so I know who’s really getting the solo lines. But most likely these are the people getting them, since they usually are anyway. Maybe Takaki and Daiki will be thrown a line or two but that’s about it. Which is really sad. But hey, Yuto’s getting lines again so I can’t really complain.

If you like what you hear you can but this single from CDJapan by cliking the links below. If you want the Limited Edition I suggest you hurry. When I last checked they were down to 12 copies.

Hey! Say! JUMP – Over [Regular Edition]

Hey! Say! JUMP perform new song on Shounen Club

On today’s episode of Shounen Club Hey! Say JUMP performed their new song Ai ING ~Aishiteru. I was completely thrilled to finally hear a clear version of the song. The choppy concert rip made the song sound completely different. I am also unsure what this new song is going to be used for. Lots of people are saying it’s going to be a new single, but that’s highly unlikely since nothing was officially announced and they just performed it and didn’t say it was their new single. This song is most likely going to be used in an upcoming single or album. However, Hey! Say! 7 and Hey! Say! BEST also have new songs that they’ve been performing at concerts. So, these songs might actually be filed away as unreleased songs like the 10 or so odd songs that HSJ haven’t officially released yet.

I gotta say, when I first heard this song I wasn’t really into it. Mostly because it’s a completely different sound than anything Hey! Say! JUMP has done before. They song is completely laid back, and the music is so soft at some points you don’t even notice there actually is background music. HSJ usually has really loud over the top energetic music. There are only a handful of songs that actually have soft music. But even those songs pick up eventually or have much more intense music to begin with. So, of course it was a bit of a shock to be thrown something different. But after listening to the song a couple of times I actually do like the overall sound. Even though it’s more subdued then us JUMP fans are used to, I think it does sound pretty good. It’s not my absolutely favorite song by them music wise, but it is pretty cute.

The lyrics themselves are pretty much HSJ and JE standard. They are a kind of all over the place though. Sometimes it’s about being destined to be together, sometimes it’s about longing for the other person, and sometimes it’s about wanting to stay together forever. I guess overall it’s just supposed to be a song about loving someone so much. But trying too hard to have a story in the lyrics makes the lyrics have 3 at once. XD

I’m glad that Hey! Say! JUMP is trying to make the line distribution fair. When, I say fair I mean, they could pull another Hitomi no Sceen for future singles and songs, but thankfully haven’t. However, they aren’t really doing a good job of that. Pretty much since HSJ was formed the same people have been singing every song. And they are Ryosuke, Daiki, Chinen, Yuto, Takaki, Yabu, and Hikaru. Sometimes the distribution changes slightly. Where it’s just Ryosuke singing. Or in their first album where it was basically Chinen, Ryosuke, Yabu, and Hikarus’ album featuring Takaki, Daiki, and Yuto. And Ryutaro, Inoo, and Keito just didn’t exist. I think they got like 6 lines between them. While I do consider the members who always sing to be the best singers. (Minus Chinen and Yuto. I’m Yuto biased but I’m not going to pretend he’s a better singer than he is.) I would love to hear the other members once in a while. Especially Ryutaro. His voice is the best of the forgotten members. I can understand not featuring Keito and Inoo much because they both sound like frogs when they sing. But Ryutaro makes no sense, he can actually sing. I guess it’s because those members are shoved down your throats. Hopefully, HSJ being rotating hosts of Shounen Club and being rotating members featured on Yan Yan JUMP will help the other members get more lines. However, I doubt it.

Here’s their new song on Shounen Club. I suggest you watch it ASAP. This will probably be taken down in a few hours.

Yan Yan JUMP second preview

During Saturday’s episode of YY Jumping there was another preview for Hey! Say! JUMP’s and Johnny’s Junior’s new show Yan Yan JUMP.

The commercial is only about 12 seconds long and is nearly identical to the first Yan Yan JUMP commercial. The only real difference is the guest for that week are different. The commercial says next week’s episode will feature Hey! Say! JUMP members Yabu Kota and Chinen Yuri. Which pretty much confirms it won’t be just Hikaru and Daiki, and instead the HSJ members will in fact be shuffled every week.

It also shows the Johnny’s Juniors guest next episode are Morimoto Shintaro and Hashimoto Ryosuke. The commercial also says that Yan Yan JUMP will begin airing April 16th.

Now, I say the next episode because YY Jumping’s last episode was the episode that was being promoted as Yan Yan JUMP’s first episode. Which is incredibly confusing and makes absolutely no sense. What would possibly be the reason to air the episode early? Not only air the episode early, but during that episode air a commercial that says Yan Yan JUMP isn’t going to premiere for over 3 weeks from now. I can’t fathom the logic behind that. XD

YY becomes Yan Yan

Johnnys Net has officially announced that this April  that Hey! Say! JUMP members Yaotome Hikaru’s and Yabu Kota’s show YY JUMPing will be replaced with a new show called Yan Yan JUMP. Yan Yan JUMP is said to be a show featuring Hey! Say! JUMP and Johnny’s Junior.

Now, even thought the commercial says it’s going to feature Hey! Say! JUMP and Johnny’s Junior doesn’t mean it’s going to feature all of them. Obviously they can’t feature all of Johnny’s Junior, there are just too many of them. I suppose they could shuffle the Juniors every week, but I doubt they would do that because that would be a lot of extra work and effort. And besides, School Kakumei and YY JUMPing pretty much use the same Juniors ever week. But what’s really important is if they are going to have all 10 HSJ members or not. A couple of weeks back Yabu mentioned that he wanted to have a show with all 10 Hey! Say! JUMP members. So, was his comment actually giving fans a hint of what to expect? I actually kind of doubt it, but I really want it to be true. I’m tired of only about 7 members of HSJ being on TV shows, while the other 3 do nothing. And I’m even more tired of those TV shows not being just one TV show. Even if the members get shuffled every week, I would love for their to be a show that is for all 10 of Hey! Say! JUMP.

However, watching the commercial makes me doubt that’s actually going to happen.

The commerical shows Hikaru, Daiki, and two ABC-Z members. One of which is Hashimoto Ryosuke, who is completely the reason my beloved Arihara Kanna had to leave C-ute to “finish her studies.”
Which makes me think that Yan Yan JUMP is going to be exactly like YY JUMPing. But instead of Hikaru and Yabu, it’s Hikaru and Daiki. Which is completely unfair, if that turns out to be what Yan Yan JUMP is like. If we were going for fair Yan Yan JUMP should consist of Yabu, Ryutaro, Keito, and Inoo. Hikaru, Chinen, and Ryosuke have School Kakumei and come April Takaki, Yuto, and Daiki will have Shounen Club. Technically Shounen Club is supposed to be Hey! Say! JUMP as hosts, but it’s totally only going to be those 3.  And some could argue that Shounen Club doesn’t count as they are only MCing and it’s not a variety show. But, whatever.

Come April JUMP fans are either going to be really happy or really dissapointed.

NTV Best Artist 2010 performances!

NTV aired their Best Artist of 2010 special yesterday. The idol line up included: Arashi, AKB48, KAT-TUN, NEWS, Perfume, Hey! Say! JUMP, and Tackey and Tsubasa.

The lineup was pretty much expected. Lots of Johnny’s and AKB48. I really wish more female idols were the best artist’s of 2010. Don’t get me wrong, I love JE, but I’d love to see some variety in these shows.

Here are the clips of the performances from the show.

Hey! Say! JUMP + Tackey and Tsubasa:

Hey! Say! JUMP’s performance is supposed to be a medley but it’s not really. They sing Ultra Music Power and “Arigatou” ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~. Tackey and Tsubasa sing Venus and Ai wa Takaramono. I was actually pretty excited they performed Venus, because I love that song.

AKB48:

This is their performance of Iiwake Maybe. I was pretty sure they did a medley, if they did I can’t find of video of it. Sorry. :/

Arashi:

Arashi performed 3 songs. Their 3 songs were Believe, Happiness and Monster. Monster is my personal favorite. But 3/5 of their pants were wayyy too tight. And MatsuJun has jacked up hair. XD The fangirl screams when they walked near them were pretty loud and intense.

NEWS:

NEWS performed Kibou ~Yell~ and Fighting Man.

KAT-TUN:

KAT-TUN performing Real Face and Going. I don’t understand why they aren’t singing Change UR World.

"Thanks" ~Where ever HSJ is in the world~

The PV for Hey! Say! JUMP’s new single, “Arigatou” ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~, has been out for 2 or 3 days now. But it was in super low quality, and I completely refused to watch or review it until a high quality one was available. You can’t imagine how hard it has been to not watch the PV.

But I can rejoice because a high quality version is finally available. But I’m surprised. Have HSJ fans not met KAT-TUN fans? According to them you’re not supposed to post the video anywhere until the release date. I guess HSJ fans didn’t get the memo about this unofficial rule. 😛
And I know I said before how I was really impressed by the song. But it’s actually growing on me. Mostly because of the 8 or 9 different performances of this song I watched. However, this song will never be my favorite. Right now it’s only my 3rd or 4th favorite JUMP single.

The PV is a little weird. It honestly looks like the whole theme for the PV is for it to be the sequel to Ultra Music Power. A majority of the PV is CG, which isn’t really a problem for me. The problem is that it goes from really expensive and impressive looking CG shots, to ones that look like some HSJ fan put it together on their computer. There are also these really scense where they are just sitting around that are hilarious because of how serious they look and how serious they are supposed to be taken.

Oh dramatic entrance only showing their legs.

Most fans hate them, but I LOVE their outfits.

  However, I HATE these ones.

Woah, I just got a flashback of the Now and Forever PV.

  The Now and Forever PV.

  Lolz!

  Ryosuke looks so hot.

Words cannot describe how sexy Ryosuke looks here.

Oh my god, look how ridiculous Chinen’s hair is!

In my spare time I moonlight as HSJ’s background graphics maker. I mean seriously, this looks terribly cheap.

I guess it is kinda cool to have all the foreign thank yous hover around.

Oh my beloved Yuto, how I wish you’d cut those long ulgy strands of hair.

Have I mentioned lately how sexy Yabu looks with dark hair?

I am not feeling Keito’s hair.

  Ryosuke is just so hot!

Now this is some impressive CGI.

Strike a pose! This just looks way too girly.

  Aww Yuto.

  Why so serious?

Keito looks a little shocked and Inoo looks bored.

  Yabu is love.

This reminds me of their Tengoku concert pamphlet.

Here’s the PV. It’s not in high quality, but I thought most readers would care more about the facts that it’s subbed and less about the quality.

Hey! Say! JUMP-"Arigatou" ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~ PV preview

A couple of days ago Mezamashi TV aired a PV preview for Hey! Say! JUMP’s new single, “Arigatou” ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~. But the preview has been virtually MIA, you could not find it anywhere. So much so, that I was planning on making this PV preview post without actually seeing the preview itself. But luckily the PV preview is now available, and someone was nice enough to upload it to youtube.

The PV itself seems a little bit boring. It’s completely white and so far it doesn’t really seem like much is going on. In the dance scenes they are wearing these hideous white outfits, that could only be described as futuristic. They’re like space commander shirts, and almost soccer looking pants. I don’t think that’s even a good description.
What I am excited about is, the main outfits they are wearing are my favorite cover outfits. They are like Marine jackets mixed with marching band jackets. And are totally hot.
Other than that there’s nothing else really going on. I mean there’s some close-ups of course, then they walk down a corridor as if it’s a runway, and are randomly stationary in the air.
The preview also shows some short behind the scenes time. Where they focus on the cuteness that is Yuto, jump on trampolines, and Yabu dances like a dork behind Ryosuke.

"Arigato" ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~ live on YY Jumping

On today’s episode of YY Jumping their was a performance of Hey! Say! JUMP’s new single, “Arigatou” ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~. What makes this performance special is, not only are they performing it for the first time, but it’s Hey! Say! BEST and not just Hikaru and Yabu.

I’m dissapointed by how simple the dance is.

But let’s not forget what’s really important. Yabu still hasn’t dyed his hair, and still has his sexy dark brown hair. 😀

I love the background, with images from around the world. Statue of Liberty FTW! XD

WTF. All the foreign thank yous are written in red and katakana, except the English one. I know it’s only written in English because Japanese people are the most familiar with it, but still. They could have wrote it in katakana too.

I guess this is supposed to be grazie? It doesn’t sound like it. XD

I knew there had to be some sort of bowing move.

I wonder if Hikaru is the one saying this in the single version. I sounds like it could be.

Oh man look, it’s Casey Anderson right next to Hikaru.

It’s the first performance ad I’m still really not feeling the song. It’s still just mediocre for me. But that’s ok, I don’t have to absolutely love everyone of their songs. Also, I hope this single follows the pervious JE releases. About a week-a week 1/2 before the PV previews came out their new single was performed somewhere on TV. So, let’s hope this means we’ll get the PV preview soon.

Hey! Say! JUMP-"Arigato" ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~ preview

Hey! Say JUMP’s new single, “Arigato” ~Sekai no Doko ni Itemo~, is being released in a little over 3 weeks but we already have a full preview of the song. But let me say how utterly surprising that they are releasing another single. After they released an album and a concert DVD, I was pretty much sure that would be it for JUMP this year. So, I am super excited that we are getting something new from them.
At first listen I am surprised at hoe different this sounds compared to everything HSJ usually releases. This song has an extremely heavy electronic beat. And it honestly reminds me of a little of Adam Lambert’s For Your Entertainment. But JUMP’s song is a lot slower.
As of right now I’m not really feeling the song. I mean it’s not horrible, but it’s not extremely catchy either. I don’t know, nothing about the song really stands out.

Also I know HSJ said thank you in like 12 languages but and I caught every single one except obrigado and grazie. I think I also when I heard merci beaucoup it sounded like they only said merci beau and forgot the coup.

Though, I am extremely happy that it sounds like every single member has at least one solo line. But I am not sure if Keito and Ryutaro do, I can’t really tell their voices apart that well. Mostly because they never sing. I also really want to know how says we are JUMP, because it doesn’t sound like Ryosuke.

New Hey!Say!7 Lotte Fruitio CM

While I was feeling under the weather Hey! Say! 7 released another Lotte Fruitio commercial. Now I’m always super excited for a new Hey! Say! JUMP commercial, especially one starring my beloved Yuto. However, I’m a little bit sad Hey Say 7 gets far more pimping than best does. Even though I like 7’s music more, Best has more of my favorite members. I’d kill for a new Best themed commercial or song. But apparently that’s a pipe dream.

But I digress. This new commercial is pretty much identical to the last commercial in every way possible. They dance to Kagayaki Days again, they are wearing near identical outfits from the last CM, and the boys are in the exact same positions. The only main difference is this commercial is lemon/yellow themed rather than grape/purple. And yet I find this CM to be completely adorable. I love how they stop mid dance because, the lemon is either too sour or too bitter. Which was of course unexpected. And you have to laugh at Yuto’s over acted, nonrealistic reaction.

But probably my favorite part of the commercial was Ryosuke.

Him saying paradise was the hottest thing ever. How he says it in a breathy almost whisper. No wonder he has so many fangirls.

It finally arrived!

At around 10 this morning I got the best news, of probably my whole week. And I was beyond excited. This also marks my first JE CD. Hooray! XD Since it’s like 5 days after the release date I was super paranoid that I was never going to get it. I’ve never ordered anything from YesAsia before, so I wasn’t really sure how long it usually takes to arrive. I also got paranoid that someone on my street was going to steal it. But it’s pretty safe to say that no one in my entire town would want this CD. XD
As soon as it came in my mom and sister were telling me, “Come on. Open it, open it!” Mostly because in the past week they’ve heard way more about Hey! Say! JUMP then they ever wanted to. Since my family likes to mock me about Japanese music/liking Japanese guys on a daily basis I was a little reluctant to show them the CD.

But before I get to their honest reactions to JUMP, here are some pictures I took of the CD.

The package. Which had so much tape on it like they never wanted you to open it!

The CD. I got the LE version. :] Even though I hate the sailor suits. :/

The back of the CD.

The CD itself.

Back of the booklet. XD

My obi strip that has a random number printed on it.

Back of the obi strip. Pointless picture I know. XD

My favorite pictures of the book. Yuto of course.

And also for some reason I love the beach picture. XD

Since I completely loved my family’s honest reaction to my Morning Musume CD, I asked them the same with my HSJ CD. But this time I asked in greater detail. Mostly because they’re guys and I wanted to see how ugly or attractive they though each member was. Now my mom was a little nicer with her comments, but my sister was brutally honest. Which made her comments 100 times more hilarious and 100 times more insulting. XD I also want to point out that my mom and sister do not find Asians attractive at all. So try not to take their comments to heart.
Anyway here are their reactions to each member. Since their reactions are based on the cover here’s the picture of the cover for reference. Of course they looked at the rest of the booklet, but I had them focus on the cover. Also my mom’s comments will be in green my sister’s in blue. XD

Yabu Kota: I actually forgot to have my mom say anything about him. XD
I like his hair, and he’s the most normal looking.

Inoo Kei: looks like a little girl and needs a hair stylist.
Looks Hispanic and looks like a girl.

Takaki Yuya: Doesn’t look attractive with hair on his nose.
Looks like he’s Yabu’s twin.

Yaotome Hikaru: Looks like a Mongoloid. (D: :O!)
Hideous! What’s wrong with his nose? Going through the booklet when my mom got to Hikaru she said, “Ooof! We won’t ever talk about him!” And then turned the page. My sister also said he looks like an Asian Jasper. (Or Jackson Rathbone for anyone who doesn’t watch Twillight. But honestly Jackson is miles hotter than Hikaru. XD)

Chinen Yuri: Needs a nose job.
Looks like a rabbit turtle.

Yamada Ryosuke: Looks like a chicken.
Looks like a pixie.

Arioka Daiki: Has a hook nose.
His nose is fucked up.

Morimoto Ryutaro: Looks like he has botox lips.
Looks like if Danny Noriega got hit in the face with a shovel and ugly stick. Also has a shocked face like he’s got a dick up his ass and likes it. (How eloquently put.)

Nakajima Yuto: Looks like Elmer Fudd.
Looks like a dyke woman. If Ellen Degeneres and an Asian had a love child. My sister immediately broke out laughing when I said he was my favorite. Saying I picked the ugliest one. When she saw his solo picture in the booklet she laughed so much she started tearing up. She also said I have something in my eye, I think it’s ugly. (I hate my family. TOT)

Okamoto Keito: Looks like he’s wearing a wig, but I could do something with his hair. AKA my mom thinks Keito is hot. I told her he’s the ripe age of 16 and she said Oh my god! Lol.
Fat and looks like he has down syndrome.

I then asked them if the had to pick one who is the hottest, who it would be. After my mom said how they’re all ugly, she said Yabu maybe, but I guess Daiki. For someone who said they were ugly she picked 3. XD
After my sister said I don’t want to pick, I don’t find Asians attractive, because of the shape of their face and their features. She ended up picking Ryosuke. Of course. I then laughed and said I knew you’d pick someone underage. Since she’s liked Nick Jonas since he was 16 and Taylor Lautner since he was 17, and she’s 22. I usually jokingly call her a pedophile because of it. XD

There you have it. Honest reactions by non JUMP fans. I hate that they had to rag on Yuto so much. I literally screamed when my sister started laughing at him. And I screamed at my mom what’s wrong with Hikaru! Though my family didn’t mock me nearly as much as i thought they would.

Hey! Say! JUMP-Smile Song preview

Today’s School Kakumei live stage was a bit of a surprise. Mostly because they sang Smile Song, which I didn’t expect to hear until the July 5th episode of Shounen Club. It was pretty much a happy surprise. I was pretty happy to hear the songs early. But I’ll be even happier when I hear the complete song.

I actually like what I hear of the song so far. It’s happy and upbeat, and totally sounds like all the other songs Hey! Say! JUMP has. Which is awesome, now it makes me even more impatient for the album. Can’t it be July 7th already!
I was also really happy that it wasn’t a Chinen solo song. I was afraid because he wrote it, it would be a solo song. But thank god it’s not.

I also love that 4 members get solos. Which means in the full version most likely everyone will get a solo line. Which is pretty exciting. I’m 100% sure the solo lines are as follows: Chinen, Daiki, Hikaru(maybe Ryutaro?), Inoo, and Yuto. The first time I listened to it I was positive that it was Yabu, but hearing Yuto’s sing kitto it’s pretty obvious that it’s his voice. If I mistook Yuto’s voice for Yabu’s that just proves how much of a good singer Yuto is, and how much a deserves more solo lines!

I’m like 75% sure it’s Hikaru singing the third solo line.(technically 4th since Chinen sings 2 solo lines XD) I mean it sounds like Hikaru’s voice when he’s singing softly. But after listening to Ganbaretsugo again, it also kinda sounds like it could be Ryutaro’s voice. But I guess we won’t know 100% until the Shounen Club episode. Here’s to hoping I’m right. XD

Here’s the song. :]

JUMP No.1 track list

Now as you know I never make entire posts for a CD’s track list. And I also never buy the CD, so I never care about a track list. But since I preordered a copy, I feel much closer and more involved in the CD. So, things like the track list and covers are a pretty big deal to me. So here is the track list for JUMP No.1.

Lyrics: Hey! Say! JUMP

I left the lyrics that were written by JUMP members up. That part is also written in red.

First off, I was extremely happy when I first found out the track list was out. I had to literally calm myself down so I could click on the link. I am pretty pleased with the track list.
Of course there are songs I wished were on there. I especially wanted Nounai Dance and Su.Ri.Ru. But there’s nothing I can do about that. Except cry and/or complain. And that wouldn’t solve anything.
We’ve heard 9/17(5 of them obviously being the singles.) songs on the album, which is actually less than I was expecting. I was expecting it to be filled with old songs, and maybe 1 or 2 new ones. But I guess it’s better to have new songs rather than just the same old ones over and over. But people are going to complain either way. Since there’s not enough old ones, people will complain they wanted more old ones. But on the other side if there were no old ones, people would complain that they wanted more old songs. You can’t really win, or make EVERYONE happy either way. Personally, I would like JUMP to release all of their old song officially one of these days. Even if they have to do it like they are now. Throwing a few old songs in with each new CD release.
Enough of my semi-rant, let’s focus on the good. The good being there’s 8 never before heard songs on the album. Which is pretty exciting. What’s even more exciting to see, is who will sing what. Since there doesn’t seem to be any solo songs. And there’s only 1 HSB songs, 1 HS7 song, and 2 groups songs.(excluding the singles of course.) So it’s really anyone’s gues as to who’s going to sing what. Though there will most likely be a Yabu and Hikaru duet.
Another great thing about this album is HSJ members wrote all of the unheard songs themselves! Two songs penned by Yabu, two songs plus rap part of Score by Hikaru, one song by Takaki, one by Ryosuke, one by Yuto, one by Chinen and one by JUMP as a whole. I bet you Thank You ~ Bokutachi kara kime e is just like NEWS’s Share. Where NEWS as a whole wrote the chorus, and each member wrote their solo verse. I also want to hear Dash ASAP! Any song written by Yuto is automatic win! All and all this is pretty impressive. I think they are the first JE group to basically write their own album. I wonder if the members of the JUMP band are playing any of the music for it? That would be cool too.
But the last thing that makes this album awesome is the songs they decided to keep are amazing. Score and Ganbaretsugo were obviously chosen as the BEST and 7 group songs because all the members get solos in the song. Though Ganbaretsugo is less than fair to Ryutaro and Keito. But I love both songs. Especially Ganbaretsugo, I listen to it nearly everyday. And I’ve always really liked Jonetsu JUMP. So I’m really excited to hear the full version of the song. Which there has to be because I doubt they’ll put a 2:30 minute song on an album. And Memories is a good song, it’s not personally my favorite. But a lot of JUMP fans seem to really like it.
So yeah what else can I say? Other than I wish it was July 7th already.

Also, here are album songs that we’ve already heard from JUMP.

Score:

Ganbaretsugo:

Jonetsu Jump:

Memories:

Jumping to my dream

In rather exciting news and turn of events for myself, I have successfully preorder the Limited Edition version of Hey! Say! JUMP’s first album, JUMP No. 1! And I honestly could not be happier! But because I overanalyze every situation, of course I still have underlined mixed feeling about this. And what could possibly be a downfall to this? The CD itself.

Usually when I hear about my favorite idol group releasing a new album I don’t really care what the album songs sound like too much. Well, obviously I want them to be good, since I’d complain a lot if they weren’t. What I mean is, I never really care that much if they suck because I never actually get the CDs. So, it’s no skin off my bones if they’re not up to standards. I usually like to hear a CD before I buy, or have my mom buy it. XD But this is the first CD I’m actually getting the same time it’s released in Japan. Sure, I could have taken the safe way out and waited until I heard the songs. But there was no way I was going to settle for Regular edition. And it’s not very often I have the opportunity to actually get a Japanese CD that’s not several years old. So of course I had to take advantage of that. And I’m really excited to get JUMP’s first album but at the same time, I’m a little bit worried that the album is going to be terrible. It’s a little too much like Russian roulette for my taste. I’m obviously a JUMP fan, I know what their music is like, and I know what their music will probably sound like in the future. But at the same time there’s always that fear that either the songs will be flat out be terrible, or I personally won’t care for them. I had the same joy filled panic when 10 My Me first came out, but luckily the album was actually really great. But that’s because a Morning Musume CD hasn’t disappointed me yet. But JUMP is pretty much a mystery. Sure I like a majority of their B-sides and unreleased songs. But there are still a few I don’t like that much like Salsa Ii na Ii ne and Kawaii Kimi no Koto da Mono. And Switch I’m on the fence about.

On YY Jumping Hey! Say! BEST preformed a new song called School Days a few weeks ago. But I’m just hearing about it now, because they just preformed it again. XD

I didn’t really like the beginning too much cause it sounds really 70s like. But I started liking it a whole lot more when Daiki started to sing. The song itself isn’t bad. The beginning is a little weird, but once it’s gets into the chorus it’s good. I’d rate it about a 6/10 or 7/10. It’s not amazing but it’s not terrible. And of course it has to have added Johnny’s corniness.
I felt it was important to mention this song, since it’s a new song and is obviously going to be on the album.

Hey! Say! JUMP to release first album!

Hey! Say! JUMP fans finally have a reason to rejoice. It was announced yesterday, at a press conference during Hey! Say! JUMP’s Concert in Yokohama Arena, that they will release their first album. The album doesn’t have a release date as of yet, but it’s going to be released sometime this summer.

Yes, this is exciting news indeed for HSJ fans. They’ve been together since 2007 and are finally releasing their first full length album. It wasn’t really a long wait for me, because I’ve only been a HSJ fan for a little over a year now. But I am still extremely excited. I actually made a very high pitched squealing type noise when I first read about it.

But of course the most important question is what songs are going to be included on the album? Since JUMP has been around for so long without and album they have A LOT of unreleased songs floating around. Not just group songs but practically every JUMP member has a solo song. I think Ryutaro and Inoo are the only ones with out one.
I think JE has to have 2 versions of the CD. A BEST versions with BEST group songs, and BEST group solo songs, and a 7 version with 7 group songs and 7 solo songs. Just like that rumored HSJ album track list that was floating around the internet a while back. I can actually see something like that happening. I mean it makes sense. On one hand they’d made double the money, because any true HSJ fan would buy both, and on the other hand they are overflowing with unreleased songs. Especially since they’ll have to add all the previous singles onto the album.
Personally, I want to see SU-RI-RU, Nounai Dance, Endless Dream, and maybe Score be on the tracklist. Then I’d be happy. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Ganbaretsugo copy off Perfume

So I was pretty excited to hear Hey! Say! 7’s new song Ganbaretsugo. Mostly because I prefer Hey! Say! 7 to Hey! Say! BEST, and any chance for them to get a new song I’m pretty much thrilled about. But instead of immediately being in love with the song I was a little bit disappointed by the fact that they basically plagiarized Perfume’s Electro world.

The underline beat is the exact same beat as Electro World except Johnny put some other up beat song on top of it so, it wouldn’t sound 100% the same. But it’s obvious enough to tell immediately that it’s Electro World.

For those of you not familiar with the song, here’s the Elctro World PV.

You have to wait until the chorus ends and the verse stars. So around 1:20 in you’ll hear the music that Ganbaretsugo copied. 1:30 is the exact part they copied. I know this isn’t really as big of a deal as Ryo plagiarizing ACIDMAN’s song. And most lucky no one else will pick up on this, but it still really irks me. I guess I’m also making a bigger deal about it then it is. XD

Anyway, besides the Perume similarities the song itself is a little mediocre in my opinion. The lyrics seem pretty lame. And by lyrics I mean the few English lyrics they threw in the song. I can tell why this song isn’t getting or isn’t on an official release. The music is pretty good though. But that’s because I’ve always loved Electro World. ;]
As expected the song is Ryosuke and Chinen lead. Just like every JUMP song is anymore. But equally expected Yuto was a minor singer in this song, so I can’t really complain. I was also blown away by the fact that Keito and Ryutaro actually got solo lines. That only happens once ever 6 months, or when Johnny feels they’ve been in the background too long.

Hey! Say! JUMP’s new calendar has plenty of eyecandy

Hey! Say! JUMP’s, and all Johnny’s, calendars were released recently. And I managed to come across the scans yesterday. And it’s pretty much the hottest thing I’ve ever seen. Well, maybe not the hottest. But pretty close. And yet it makes uber sad.

When stuff like this comes out it reminds me how much I need a job. I have zero income to spend on things like this. So I rely on my mom to buy thing or me. But she barely wants to buy me magazines and calendars featuring the Jonas Brother, let alone Japanese boy. She dislikes buying me anything Japanese related. She so eloquently refers to it as “Amy’s Jap crap.” And there in lies my problem. But enough of my whining and more about HSJ.

What makes Hey! Say! JUMP’s calendar so incredibly amazing and so hot? I think it’s pretty obvious that the answer to that question is none other than Nakajima Yuto. It’s no surprise that I love Yuto. I’ve professed my love of Yuto on my blog before. But Yuto seriously looks amazing in this calendar. Every picture he’s in he’s either, incredibly sexy or insanely adorable. Maybe I’m just being biased. But most likely I’m not. ;] Might as well critique each picture to make sure.

This picture is obviously hot. But really more of subtly sexy. He’s also looking pretty innocent, which is hot. And I’m a sucker for plaid. So this picture is pretty much win.

This picture is super adorable. I’m not really sure what could be cuter than Yuto writing on a window. The last picture is the cutest and my favorite.

These pictures are pretty much half and half. Since he’s not really doing anything he’s his same cute self. But these pictures are hot because Yuto looks hot without even trying.

These are a little boring for my taste. Since he’s not really doing much. The cheers with Chinen is kinda cute though.

This picture is pretty much too hot for words.

Cheap effect to use a picture from a magazine spread. I prefer the magazine spread picture though.

This is probably my favorite picture of all. Even though he’s only wearing a suit jacket, that’s close enough.

This is another example of Yuto not doing anything and still looking hot.

Besides Yuto the whole rest of the calendar is pretty hot. Mostly because of the overall theme of it. The hottest things a guy can wear are suits and plaid. And this calendar has both. Even though this calendar is nice to look at only a few other HSJ boys really stuck out.

Hikaru’s pictures immediately jump out at me. Besides Yuto he looks the best. Especially in the ones where he’s wearing a suit. I also love the suit pictures because he has black hair. Most of the time Hikaru looked bad with black hair. His new hair really suits him. But for some reason he just looks amazing with black hair.

Inoo also looks really good. But most of his pictures are dorky and adorable. These are the only pictures were he looks out and out sexy.

I’m a little disappointed by Ryosuke in this. Usually he takes some pretty hot spreads for magazines. But in this he looks pretty much normal. I don’t know it felt like he was being lazy in this.

Hey! Say! JUMP’s Hitomi no Katana

The PV for Hey! Say! JUMP’S 5th single, Hitomi no Screen was released a few days ago. And all I can say it’s about time. It’s been 4 weeks since the first PV preview was released. Which seems a little unnecessary. But when you’ve been waiting a year and a half, what’s another 4 weeks?

Hitomi no Screen is following the same theme of every HSJ PV, where the video has absolutely nothing to do with the song. But this PV doesn’t even really make much sense. Hey! Say! JUMP is sword fighting a masked man for an undisclosed reason. Even though it leaves much more to be desired, it does give the PV some good scenes. The fighting scenes in general are pretty hot. What’s better than a roughed up and dirty HSJ? When it comes to this PV nothing really. Especially since the close up shots are just boring white button down shirts. But at least they’re not wearing the outfits they usually perform Hitomi no Screen in.

The outfits that make them look like professional figure skaters rather than idols. Wearing them would have ruined the video completely.
I was actually surprised by how equal the camera time was. Even though Ryosuke dominates the song he doesn’t dominate the PV. He gets exactly the same amount of camera time as everyone else. Which is awesome. I love Ryosuke and all, but he’s gets way too much attention. It’s nice to see everyone else for a change. Though the screen time is great I’m a little sad that this video doesn’t have any dancing. I guess since their last 2 PVs were so focused on dancing they wanted to do something different this time around. But still, I miss it. Granted the dancing is boarder line silly, because right now it has just enough Johnny’s cheese. I’m just used to seeing HSJ dancing in every video.
Another thing that disappoints me is there’s a lot of bad hair going on in this video.

I’m not liking Ryosuke’s hair in the close up at all.

But during the fight scenes I love his hair. For some reason the weird ponytail hairstyle they gave him doesn’t work face on.

Inoo’s hair in the close up is equally gross. Which is sad because I love Inoo.

But again it looks fine in the fight scenes. I don’t know what’s going on. They must keep filming from bad angles.

I’m not a fan of Chinen at all, but his hair is seriously ugly.

He’s still looking ugly as ever, but his hair is making it worse.

For the most part everyone else looks great. Especially Keito. Which is really surprising. Keito usually looks too much like an Alien for my taste.

But in this video he looks really sexy.

And of course Yuto is looking really great.

However, I’m not a fan of the necklace he has to wear.

Makes him look pretty gay. :/

And Takaki’s pretty much looking as womanly as ever.

Another thing I love about this video is the amount of stupid faces everyone makes. Because they have to make intense “I’m fighting someone” faces

Hikaru usually makes similar faces regardless. So this isn’t much of a change.

This is exactly a flattering picture of Yabu.

That’s better. ;]

That’s not really menacing at all.

Daiki definitely wins for most loltastic fighting pose face. XD

Chinen fails.

But Ryosuke wins.

Well almost.

XD

Hidarime Tantei EYE dilemma

There’s only 2 days until Ryosuke’s drama, Hidarime Tantei EYE, airs. Well if you want to be technical on Japan’s time it airs tomorrow. And there’s the dilemma. With such a short amount of time until the premiere, there aren’t any confirmed fansubbers for it. Well there are confirmed fansubbers, but sadly I can’t speak Spanish or French.

I wasn’t really the biggest fan of the special, since it was almost too boring to watch. The girl that he was working with annoyed me so much. I wish I could have punched her in the face. And Yokoyama Yu generally makes me eyes bleed. Nayama Yuma also guest stars in it. I’m a little iffy about him. Johnny seems to be promoting him like crazy, shoving him in your face every chance he gets. Yuma has his moments were he looks hot so that doesn’t bother me too much. But on top of all that Crystal Kay is going to be in it. Who I’ve hated ever since I started listening to Japanese music.

There’s a lot of reasons I’m going to dislike this drama but I’m going to watch it anyway. Because Ryosuke’s in it. And I pretty much watch any drama in it with JE boys. Except for Ryusei no Kizuna, I watched 2 episodes before I lost interest.
But any chance to see Ryosuke change his shirt.

Is well worth it.

I’m just a little annoyed that people are jumping to sub Code Blue season 2 and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge. But for the time being I just have to wait until someone announces it on a later day.

New Hey! Say! JUMP single!

After 18 long months Hey! Say! JUMP finally has a new single entitled Hitomi no Screen. Which will be the theme to Ryosuke’s drama Hidarime Tantei EYE.

I’m an incredibly excited to see a new JUMP single finally. Especially because I became a JUMP fan during their single dry spell. I’m even more excited that the song is actually really good. I was actually expecting the song to be very slow and boring, much like Hidarime Tantei EYE itself. But the song has an amazing beat and chorus. And it extremely catchy like most Johnny’s songs.
But the initial excitement of a new single wear off easily when you listen to the line distribution. While Ryosuke is an amazing singer and undeniably popular I hate that he’s the only one to get solos. The group has 10 members and only one person singing is just sad. Even C-ute isn’t that bad. I understand it’s for his drama and all, but that’s really an excuse for him to monopolize the entire song. JUMP fans waited 18 months just for Yamada Ryosuke w/ J.U.M.P.
Also, I might be hearing things but it also sounds like Daiki has a solo part too. But it’s hard to tell on such a low quality recording.

And just a disclaimer, there is no official preview for Hitomo no Screen. So if you don’t like concert rips I wouldn’t suggest listening to this.

While I’m on the subject of JUMP I might as well talk about their other new song Romeo & Juliet. Which is pretty much old news to most JUMP fans. But I haven’t been able to blog in a while so I feel like bringing it up anyway.

This song is pretty forgetful. I can see myself only remembering this song when they perform it at concerts. The lyrics are mediocre at best and the beat isn’t anything special. Also the line distribution is pretty uneven. Only Ryosuke, Chinen, and Hikaru get lines. Which is unacceptable. But that doesn’t really bother me. What bothers me is Chinen leading it. I can understand Hikaru and Ryosuke because they are great singers, but Chinen is terrible. And lately it seems like he’s forcing his voice to be extra high and cute like it used to be. Which is annoying. But he should probably ask Koharu for lessons.
However, they could also be leading it because they’re the only members on School Kakumei. But we’d have to wait for a concert performance to find out.
I don’t know, I just really dislike Chinen. He looks too much like a girl and too much like a rabbit for my taste.

Happy Birthday Yuto~!

It’s August 10th, so that means it’s Hey! Say! JUMP member Nakajima Yuto’s birthday! He turns 16 years old today, which makes me feel less creepy for thinking he’s hot. I’m only 17, and yet when he was 15 I felt weird. ._.

Any way Yuto is the hottest my favorite JUMP member. So that calls for major Yuto spamage. I hardly ever cover JE stuff, mostly because I don’t think people who read my blog for H!P will care. But Yuto spam anyway.

And Yuto video spam!

Yuto eating lemons on Showa Heisei. His reaction is adorable. But Ryosuke’s is still better. XD

Yuto dancing to Meccha Holiday with an Aya Matsuura impersonator. It’s amazing how they sound exactly like Aya.

Yuto confessing his love to Leah Dizon.

And an awesome Yuto performance.

Wota Wonderings 4- Just how shallow are you?

Welcome to Wota Wonderings! We are a group of english-speaking Japanese music bloggers brought together once a month to answer questions posed by johpan. We strive to be creative and entertaining, and we may even shed a bit of new light on interesting musical and cultural topics. Any questions about how we work should be directed to johpan. Don’t forget to check out the other posts from this month at the bottom of this post. Enjoy!

The topic this time around is:

Hoping we’re not all shallow wotas, imagine your favourite idol (or musical personality) switched bodies with someone you don’t find “visually pleasing”, would it affect your love for that idol in any way/shape/form?

So this question is a little hard to answer, mostly because I don’t want to come off as being shallow. When in real life looks don’t matter to me at all. But, I’m not going to lie to seem like a better person. The honest truth is looks matter, and probably a lot. I guess because that kind of thinking is so common among lots of wotas out there, I don’t really feel that bad for thinking that way. In the world of idols you learn that looks and personality trump vocal ability. When I first got into idols, there was a time when I wouldn’t bother learning an idol’s name if they weren’t pretty or hot enough. But since than I realized that’s really stupid.

Kusumi Koharu:

I think Koharu is the only idol out there I legitimately like for personality and vocals. Most people say she can’t sing, but I really love her voice. I really love Koha’s energetic and over the top personality. It’s what drew me to her in the first place. And the fact that she’s too cute for words is just a bonus.

NEWS:

NEWS has been my favorite JE group, since I got into JE almost a year ago. They became my favorite mostly because of their cute and catchy Jpop songs. But they remained my favorite and closest followed JE group because I find all 6 of the members attractive on some level. I can honestly say I do know a lot about NEWS. But I also probably wouldn’t know as much as I do if they were ugly. Sorry, it’s the truth.

Nishikido Ryo:

But my favorite NEWS member and favorite JE member is Ryo-chan. I first started to like Ryo because he looked really hot in a suit in the Weeeek PV. I mostly like Ryo because he’s hot. Hot face and hot body. His face might wrinkle and look ugly when he smiles but that’s ok. Even though Ryo has a husky and unique voice I still think he is #5 vocally within NEWS. He’s not that bad of a singer, it’s just that the rest of NEWS outshines him. Except Shige. XD But I do really like Ryo’s sinister, I’m better than everyone else personality. Cause it’s hot. X_X

AKB48:

I first heard about AK48 a few years back. I was really interested in hearing their songs because they were similar to H!P’s songs. Before I actually listened to their songs I decided to see what they looked like first. After I saw a picture of them I remember thinking that they were really ugly. So instead of listening to them anyway, I decided not to based on their looks. But recently I started to listen to a few of their songs and realized they’re actually not that bad. I’m still not a full blown AKB48 fan though, because honestly I’d rather listen to the prettier girls of H!P. I would.

Hey! Say! JUMP:

HSJ is a pretty decent idol group. They have a few good songs like Mayonaka no Shadow Boy, Brave Story, etc. And yet as much as I want to become a HSJ fan, something is always stopping me. Even though I hate to admit it’s looks that are stopping me. Hey! Say! JUMP is currently the largest JE group out there, with 10 members. And yet out of the 10 I only think Yuto, Yamada, and Yabu are attractive. Inoo is mediocre looking. And Chinen might be hot in like 2 or 3 years. ._.

So yeah I guess looks are really important to me. And I guess that makes me shallow. I don’t really know what else to say. I guess with celebrities I feel I can judge them all I want. That’s essentially what everyone does anyway. When they say this singer is hotter than that singer.

Hey! Say! Jump! Jonetsu Jump preview

Hey! Say! JUMP! preformed their new song, Jonetsu Jump, recently at what I’m guessing is some volleyball event. So now we have a nice preview of this song. But there is still no official word if this is the A-side for their upcoming new single.

The performance itself is really cool. There’s a lot of backup dancers, so it’s really extravagant. And Chinen’s jump in the beginning was pure win. The cameras really seem to be focusing more on Hey! Say! 7. Ryosuke and Chinen especially. Which isn’t really surprising since Ryosuke is the most popular member. I would like to see more Yabu and Yuto though.

The outfits are really a disappointment. They’re very matador like and hideous. I really hope these aren’t the PV outfits. For the most part Hey! Say! JUMP! has had ugly PV outfits. Mayonaka no Shadow Boy’s outfits were the best looking and the Your Seed ones weren’t bad either.

But anyway, I’m not really impressed by the song. The music is really fun, but everything else is a little bland. It’s just not catchy and the sound has been done before. We’ll see what I think of it after I listen to it a few more times.
