Finally a H!P blog I actually care about has opened. Well I care about Kanon and Aika’s. But I don’t care at all about Sayumi’s or Erika’s. Or the OG’s blogs. But none of their blogs matter. One of the greatest idols to ever grace Morning Musume has opened a blog. That idol is none other than Kusumi Koharu!

Yes, now there will finally be a blog dedicated to every detail of Koharu’s life! And it will be sure to answer all the burning questions you have about her. Such as the last meal she ate, what outfit she’s wearing that day, and the ever important what movies has she been to lately.

But in all seriousness, I am extremely excited for this. This will probably be the first blog I actually check often. Well assuming someone translates it. I usually skip Kanon’s blog because I don’t speak Japanese. After a while just staring at pictures you don’t know the reason for is kind of boring. But since it’s Koharu I’ll still probably check it more often than Kanon’s. I mean it’s Koharu. Probably my favorite idol ever. Which is a pretty big statement.

Koharu’s blog is apparently called Koharu Land: Free admissions. Which is an extremely cute and fitting name for Koharu. Take that Erika’s Sweet Diary and Non Peace! The blog itself is also extremely cute and sparkly. It almost looks like a blog and Egg Magazine model would have, but that’s ok. The banner also has some new pictures of Koharu. Which gives us an idea of what she’s been doing for the past 4 months. (Besides some TV appearances.) I’m also excited that she lists herself as a singer, actress, and model. Which means we’ll possibly here some new songs from Koha. Which I’m definitely looking forward to. Though I wonder if she means actress, actress or seiyuu.

But whatever the case is be sure to check Koha’s blog often. You can click here for her blog.

Goodbye would never be enough Koharu

Morning Musume’s 7th generation member Koharu Kusumi will be graduating from Morning Musume and Hello!Project. Her graduation concert will be held on December 6th. You can read Tsunku’s comment here or Koha’s comment here. She will also be graduation to pursue a modeling career.

Someone please tell me I’m in some sort of H!P related nightmare. That I’ll wake up and all the groups will be back to 7 nin and 9 nin. Sadly that’s never going to happen. One of my favorite, if not my favorite, member of Hello!Project is leaving. Koharu is the reason I even like Morning Musume or H!P. If it wasn’t for her I probably wouldn’t be a H!P fangirl at all.

If I was crying when Kanna left, I’m bawling now. When I first heard this news I thought it was some rumor of joke by a Koharu hater. But after I saw the official announcement it sunk in. But even now I can’t really fathom her leaving. Morning Musume is going to be so empty now. Everyone else seems boring compared to her. You got Reina who’s arrogant, Sayumi who’s narcissistic, Ai and Mittsi who are boring most of the time. At least LinLin has that weird and fun personality.

And I can’t be the only one who didn’t expect this to happen. And not because graduations are always unexpected, but because she shouldn’t be the member leaving. I’ve thought for a while about who should leave, and I came to the conclusion that it should be Sayumi. She’s been there a while and contributes nothing vocally to the group. So she was the perfect choice. I never thought in a million years it would be Koha. Especially since she’s really popular, and she’s releasing her new photobook Sugar Doll.

But on to happier thoughts. I loved Koharu for her hyperactive and always entertaining personality. Out of all of the girls she seemed to have the most fun with everything, and never really took things too seriously. She always showed her own personality no matter what.

Over the years the years there has been a lot of Koharu hate out there, mostly because she’s not the best singer in the entire world. I think Koharu got a lot more hate then she deserved. I actually really love her singing voice, her Morning Musume voice and her “Kirarin Revolution voice.” Which by the way, I never thought there was a difference. She might have lip synched, but she did work to get better.

It is very bittersweet for Koharu to leave. But it’s even worse to stop supporting her just because she’s leaving. I hope she does great as a model. Maybe she’ll become famous over here. Hopefully she’ll open her own blog at least. Who knows. But no matter what happens Koharu will always be Miracle-chan to me.

This is the first video I ever watched about Koharu Kusumi. I watched this clip before I even knew she was in Morning Musume. I just wanted to know everything about her. I was happy that the first thing I knew about her was she liked dried apricots.

A cute clip with Koharu’s limited English.

I love this performance of Odore Morning Curry. Koha sings her solo line weird.

And in honor of Koharu here are some Koharu songs I covered. I suck at singing so you’re being warned.

Wota Wonderings 4- Just how shallow are you?

Welcome to Wota Wonderings! We are a group of english-speaking Japanese music bloggers brought together once a month to answer questions posed by johpan. We strive to be creative and entertaining, and we may even shed a bit of new light on interesting musical and cultural topics. Any questions about how we work should be directed to johpan. Don’t forget to check out the other posts from this month at the bottom of this post. Enjoy!

The topic this time around is:

Hoping we’re not all shallow wotas, imagine your favourite idol (or musical personality) switched bodies with someone you don’t find “visually pleasing”, would it affect your love for that idol in any way/shape/form?

So this question is a little hard to answer, mostly because I don’t want to come off as being shallow. When in real life looks don’t matter to me at all. But, I’m not going to lie to seem like a better person. The honest truth is looks matter, and probably a lot. I guess because that kind of thinking is so common among lots of wotas out there, I don’t really feel that bad for thinking that way. In the world of idols you learn that looks and personality trump vocal ability. When I first got into idols, there was a time when I wouldn’t bother learning an idol’s name if they weren’t pretty or hot enough. But since than I realized that’s really stupid.

Kusumi Koharu:

I think Koharu is the only idol out there I legitimately like for personality and vocals. Most people say she can’t sing, but I really love her voice. I really love Koha’s energetic and over the top personality. It’s what drew me to her in the first place. And the fact that she’s too cute for words is just a bonus.

NEWS:

NEWS has been my favorite JE group, since I got into JE almost a year ago. They became my favorite mostly because of their cute and catchy Jpop songs. But they remained my favorite and closest followed JE group because I find all 6 of the members attractive on some level. I can honestly say I do know a lot about NEWS. But I also probably wouldn’t know as much as I do if they were ugly. Sorry, it’s the truth.

Nishikido Ryo:

But my favorite NEWS member and favorite JE member is Ryo-chan. I first started to like Ryo because he looked really hot in a suit in the Weeeek PV. I mostly like Ryo because he’s hot. Hot face and hot body. His face might wrinkle and look ugly when he smiles but that’s ok. Even though Ryo has a husky and unique voice I still think he is #5 vocally within NEWS. He’s not that bad of a singer, it’s just that the rest of NEWS outshines him. Except Shige. XD But I do really like Ryo’s sinister, I’m better than everyone else personality. Cause it’s hot. X_X

AKB48:

I first heard about AK48 a few years back. I was really interested in hearing their songs because they were similar to H!P’s songs. Before I actually listened to their songs I decided to see what they looked like first. After I saw a picture of them I remember thinking that they were really ugly. So instead of listening to them anyway, I decided not to based on their looks. But recently I started to listen to a few of their songs and realized they’re actually not that bad. I’m still not a full blown AKB48 fan though, because honestly I’d rather listen to the prettier girls of H!P. I would.

Hey! Say! JUMP:

HSJ is a pretty decent idol group. They have a few good songs like Mayonaka no Shadow Boy, Brave Story, etc. And yet as much as I want to become a HSJ fan, something is always stopping me. Even though I hate to admit it’s looks that are stopping me. Hey! Say! JUMP is currently the largest JE group out there, with 10 members. And yet out of the 10 I only think Yuto, Yamada, and Yabu are attractive. Inoo is mediocre looking. And Chinen might be hot in like 2 or 3 years. ._.

So yeah I guess looks are really important to me. And I guess that makes me shallow. I don’t really know what else to say. I guess with celebrities I feel I can judge them all I want. That’s essentially what everyone does anyway. When they say this singer is hotter than that singer.

Koharu’s Miracle Revolution

According to AnimeNewsNetwork Kirarin Revolution is getting it’s own manga spin off called, Miracle Revolution. This one-shot manga will recount Koharu’s real-life rise to stardom.

This is pretty excited news for Koha fans. Maybe this one-shot manga will spawn into a one-shot anime or drama. With Kirarin Revolution being so successful and popular it does seem possible. So maybe Koahru’s next anime role and single are closer than we think.
Aside from the anime possibilities, this is awesome new in general. I’d love to be able to read or see what this manga is like. This will also keep Koharu’s rising popularity up.
